My friends and I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try for brunch. Really glad we did! We got four things, and each of us loved what we got. The refried beans are really stellar, the tortillas are incredible, and the plantains are scrumptious. The seafood soup was maybe the standout item. I visited this restaurant for dinner about a year ago and left a negative review. I visited again for breakfast recently and had a much better experience. The waitress still didn't understand English well but was more careful about ensuring the order was correct and overcoming the language barrier. The food was reasonably priced, plentiful, and pretty good. We had plantains, Carne asada, eggs, beans, pork cutlet, and Cafe con Leche (we tried to order coffee with cream and this arrived instead). The cheese on the beans was very sour, and as a result was best consumed together with the plantains. The Cafe con Leche tasted instant. The Carne asada was delicious. read more

I got the free yelp check in Baleada and ordered tacos Honurian. The Baleada was much bigger than I thought it'll be! The tacos Hondurian was like a big crispy homemade taquito covered in a type of cole slaw and pickled onions. It was soooo good! Ordered water and they give you bottles water and bottles sodas, no cup. I would definitely go back to try the other dishes. I came across this place on yelp and decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did! They are a small restaurant located near Harry Hines serving authentic Honduran food. I went with one friend and we ordered three dishes and had way too much food leftover! We ordered the plantains, the yuca fries and the tomato sauce fish. The total came out to be about 20 dollars each (including tip) but we were both stuffed. They make all the food right when you order it and the service is very friendly! They don't have too many options for vegetarians, just a few bean and rice dishes. However if you eat fish the tomato fish dish was delish! We received an entire red snapper covered in sauce and veggies all for a very reasonable price. I may come back since there are limited options for me but I will definitely recommend it to my friends! My parents tried the leftover fish and loved it and immediately asked for details! The food is delicious and fresh, the staff is very attentive and caring making you feel at home especially because everything here is homemade. You pay a reasonable price for a great amount of food which is something that I always look at when I go out to eat. This has to be one of the best Honduran restaurants I have been to, actually one of the best Latin restaurants that I have been to, which says something when considering where to go and eat with your family. Be sure to try one of Mita's Baleadas (picture) you will not regret it. Best part is, you get to choose what kind of meat you want in it (chicken, steak or chorizo). The best place I've ever eaten! Don't let the fact that it's in Harry Hines or that the waitress didn't speak English deter you from coming here and trying it out. I lived in Honduras for 5 months during college and fell in love with so many of the local dishes like Baleadas, Honduran enchiladas and the various soups and stews. When I found this place I couldn't wait to try it out. I was NOT disappointed! This is the best Honduran food I have had in the states, and if you've never tried Honduran food.
