Capacity is probably less than 40 people with just a few high community tables for larger parties and 3 small high tables in the back that sits for 2. Our server presented the specials for the night and took our drink orders. Whistling Pig Hef (bottled local beer) was $4. We decided to split a pizza and ordered the special of the night ($16). A pizza with parm creme sauce, garlic crisper, crispy basil, chili flakes and fried capers. The crust is in between a thin and thick crust. Just right! This is some serious pizza with a high price tag. For $17, I ordered the sweet fennel sausage, roasted peppers and provolone pizza. The pizza itself was very light and airey. It's not the best flatbread that I've had but it's up there. As a Seattle visitor, I have been to Serious Pie on two separate visits. I can confidently say that the pizza at Serious Pie is the best, if not in the top 3, pizza I have ever had. The flavor combinations offered, the quality of the ingredients, and the delicious crust culminate in beautiful, delicious, and hearty pizzas. This time around my friend (a Seattle native) and I ordered a pizza with many varieties of mushroom and sweet fennel sausage and a pizza with prosciutto, soft egg, and arugula. Despite how large the pizzas were, we managed to decimate both pizzas, despite feeling extremely full at the end of our experience. If you have never tried Serious Pie, you deserve to treat yourself and your friends (if they're nice) to delicious pizza and wine. read more

What can I say? This pizza was perfect, happy hour is a must. We planned our outing to The Space Needle and such around this pizza. And I am so glad we did. Came here at around 530 and there was already a 1 hour wait! So we decided to take out (took about 20min). We ordered 2 pizzas for two people and it was more than enough! Were were looking for a fast lunch with something delicious and local. We were staying nearby at the Warwick and stumbled upon this place. It is a tiny establishment with just a few seats so depending on what time you get there it might be a 10-15 min wait during lunch. We opted in for the proscuitto pizza with the egg and arugala on top. This was delicious!!!!! Tasty and full of flavor. Just the right amount of everything. We also got a salad to split to start off with. The kale salad was tasty but honestly it was kind of small. I was hoping for something heartier. With drinks, 1 pizza, and a small salad we were just right. But honestly, if you were starving you might just want to opt in and get two pizzas and skip the salad. We got the cheese pizza for the kids and we tried the kale salad and the clam pizza for ourselves bc our server raved about the uniqueness of the menu item. The cheese pizza wasn't too bad but made with provolone so my daughter wasn't a fan. The kale salad came out heavy on the parm and I could barely eat it but my husband enjoyed it. The clam pizza could have been tasty but it was too thin for me making it extra crispy and extra parm-y also so I definitely wasn't a fan. I like my pizza with a little dough to it and not just crispy chip tasting. I'm sure this is just a me problem but just being honest with how I experienced the food. The server was great though. This is a block away from my hotel and a few blocks away from Pike Place. I decided to come here for happy hour pizzas (3-5pm). There was a 20 to 30-minute wait since the place can only have 50 people max. I was watching how they make their pizzas and talking to the manager for a few minutes then decided to walk Dahlia Bakery while waiting. I had a mushroom and truffle cheese pizza and a sweet fennel sausage pizza for $6 each. The wait was well-worth it. Both pizzas were yummy. The crust was crisp and flavorful. I wanted to try the chocolate budino for dessert but I had dinner reservations somewhere at 6pm. They'll offer your a slice of coconut cream pie from Dahlia's Bakery around the block for $9 or you could just walk over there and get the same pie for less than $9! The food was excellent. Seattle seems to be home to two things: pizza and biscuits. While lurking on Yelp to find my next meal, these were always the first suggestions. In one case, Serious Pie's sister restaurant, Serious Pie and Biscuit, mashed up both. However, there were no biscuits to be had for our last meal in Seattle. My significant other and I were quite intrigued by the prevalence of pizza in the city, and decided to go to one of the locations downtown. As we waited for our table (it took us 20 minutes for 2 at 6:30 p.m. on a Sunday without reservations), we perused their simple menu. I'd argue that it isn't that pretentious of a pizza place despite the very fancy-sounding toppings and limited selection for starters. Ultimately, we settled on the sweet fennel sausage, peppers, and provolone pizza between the two of us. The flavors of the pizza were on point. Each of the crumbled sausage pieces was packed with delicious fennel, and I found the peppers to be an excellent compliment. The fennel was the stand-out flavor on the pie. However, the structure of the pie lacked consistency. One slice my significant other picked up had a burnt crust bubble that toppings fell through as he lifted it. Lots of cheese slid off on the slices, likely due to the thin crust and sauce. Serious Pie also offers an extensive drink menu (which apparently includes a growler of root beer if you're so inclined), which actually is three or four times the number of pizza offerings. There are also a few dessert options, it appears, but we were not offered a dessert menu. We paid roughly $23 for a pizza that would easily feed one and a half people. Like others have mentioned, your final bill includes a 20% gratuity that covers wages for the service. I commend this flat rate because it shows that the business cares about their employees making a fair wage. Sure, the service isn't stellar. But it's fast, friendly, and efficient, and they make an effort to inform you about this as you sit down to your dinner. read more

The full bodied wine definitely warmed us up after a day of walking around the city in 30 degrees weather. I say a good start to the night! We ordered the salad special for the day which consisted of arugula, persimmons, and hazelnut with a citrusy dressing. The salad was good when you ate it with all the ingredients together, meaning the greens, persimmons, and hazelnut. However if your bite of the salad just consisted of the greens, it was quite sour and salty. I would have liked it if I enjoyed every bite of my salad. I would give it a 4/5. My friend and I shared the Mushroom and Truffle Cheese Pizza. From the moment our waitress brought out the pizza I knew we would enjoy it. There was a subtle sweet smell to the pizza that had us drooling. Once I took a bite of the pizza it felt like a little bit of heaven in my mouth. Wow everything on the pizza went well together, the mushrooms, cheese, and bread. The mushrooms were very flavorful but not overpowering. I didn't mind the fact that it was the only topping on the pizza. The cheese was sweet yet savory. It was pretty amazing. And the bread was chewy and crispy on the outside. Just the way I like it. It was definitely a 5/5 for me! We decided to order dessert since we still some wine left. We ordered the Chocolate Budino. It was a disappointment. I've had Budinos at several restaurants in LA and have enjoyed it every time. Maybe I had high expectations? The Budino at Serious Pie was like a thicker/creamier chocolate pudding. This is one of my favorite pizza places in the world! The thin-crust pizza here is super delicious and one of the best things about Seattle! The yukon gold potato + rosemary + pecorino romano pizza is my favorite pizza here. The potato is sliced thin and cooked so perfectly. My next favorite is the soft-cooked egg + prosciutto + pecorino sardo + arugula pizza. My next next favorite is the mushrooms + truffle cheese pizza. Okay, I guess I've had a lot of their pizzas. In fact, on my last trip to Seattle, we came here three times - twice to sit down to have dinner and then once more to get some pizzas to go so we could eat it at the airport while waiting to board our planes (the original plan was to eat the pizza on the plane on the way home...but we couldn't wait that long haha). The wait for dinner can be long (I think the first time we waited about 40 minutes), but they take your phone number down and call you when they're ready for you to come back. So you can take a walk around the neighborhood, or grab a drink at one of Tom Douglas's other establishments which are next door (Dahlia Lounge) or across the street (Lola). You might get seated at a communal table with strangers (or as I like to call them future friends!) or there are also three two-person tables in the back. In addition to the yummy pizzas, the best appetizer on the menu is brussels sprouts! The pizzas are not small and not huge. I think one pizza could comfortably feed two people if they also got an appetizer. But the pizza is so good here, I feel confident that I could finish one pizza (they cut it up into eight slices) on my own in one sitting. Also the staff here is amazing. COVID takeout review in a nutshell: Yep, it's amazing. Go there. We came here after an odd experience at a place around the corner. We ordered: Truffle Pizza, an IPA, a to go drink (the one with the bourbon) and 2 mochi style donuts. It was very satisfying and a pleasure for our taste buds on a sunny Saturday afternoon. I feel like truffle is often a flavor restaurants accidentally make overpowering. This pizza had the perfect touch of truffle to compliment the cheese and mushrooms. Honestly, for a place that spends $30K a MONTH on cheese, how you can you say this pizza isn't good? It's not just good, it's SPANKIN good. The dough that they use is phenomenal, the sauce that they use on their margherita is phenomenal, and obviously, the cheese is to die for (specifically the buffalo mozzarella on the margherita). We had the margherita pizza and the mushroom pizza. The margherita was maybe one of the best I've ever had. The dough that they make at this place is honestly a treasure and I want all of it. It's done with the perfect airiness and perfect crisp, and when paired with a dank sauce and awesome cheeses, this place is unstoppable.
