I was stoked to find a Groupon for Service Kings- we were moving and needed a quick and cost effective carpet cleaning service. $49 for three rooms was a killer deal. I made the appointment almost two weeks ahead of time. They e-mailed me a confirmation with all of the info. My appointment was scheduled between 11 am and 2 pm. The day of the appointment: I got everything ready, moved the furniture and pre-vacuumed the carpets. I waited and waited for them to show up. Finally I got a call at 12:55 pm from the tech stating that they were running behind and would arrive around 3 pm. Okay, I guess. At least I knew I had some time to kill. At 2:45 pm another call, saying that they were one their way and would be here in about 30 minutes. Finally at 3:25 they showed up. They apologized and blamed a previous customer for putting them behind schedule. They were kinda nice but their customer service felt obligatory and definitely not sincere. They "cleaned" my carpets. It really just seemed like a wet vacuum. When they were done the rooms smelled kinda musty- definitely not a fresh-cleaned smell. They said that the carpet would be dry in 6-8 hours but could be up to 24 hours. Geez. I would have rather paid full price for a company that valued their customers, their time and were committed to great customer service and satisfaction. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Contractors State Licensing Board. He put off responding to complaint with BBB until AFTER his bankruptcy was cleared. He took over $11,000 from me for work on my own home and my deceased mother (all the money I had received from her). Beware of this person. He doesn't even have a business license to be conducting business or taking the amount of $$ he has taken. I still see his van around town and fear he will victimize yet another trusting soul. Adam arrived on time and we showed him our areas concern and told him I'd be back in an hour. Sure enough, he was done, the carpets looked better than I could have hoped! So 1 star for the extreme lack of customer service and not being able to be serviced. They also called one day before the scheduled date to confirm/remind. Adam arrived on time. He asked my concerns and started work promptly. My house is new so there wasn't any tough spot. But I am pleased when 1) Adam offered to clean the wool rug instead of the carpet under it and 2) he used padding to lift my sofa and chairs for better cleaning and drying. 3) He confirms that they use a very safe cleaning agent. The 3-room cleaning was finished in 45 minutes. The rooms smelled good and no strange smell the next day. He showed up within 45 minutes of the appointment time (11:45am when appointment was between 11am and 1pm), so that was nice. I won a gift certificate for a two room carpet cleaning. I was finally able to use it this week and am happy with the job done. I originally scheduled the appointment for just my living room because I had a busy day and didn't want to wait any longer on having another room cleaned. My living room was pretty much the room with the most traffic. The technicians arrived at my house around 8am (maybe a little earlier). I was told they would arrive between 8-9 am. So that was a plus that I wasn't waiting around and the cleaning was able to start right away. There were two technicians and they were both very professional, courteous, and didn't try to sell me on more than I requested. They did offer to do another room since the gift cert did mention it was for two rooms. I hesitantly gave in and said okay to having a guest room done.
