My sister, husband, and I went on our own small NYC Cookie Tour. We stopped at a bunch of places that we've been wanting to try. Seven Grams Caffe was our fifth stop of the tour. I enjoyed the cookie, but wouldn't come running back for more. AMBIENCE: (4/5) - Sleek coffee cafe - Music wasn't too loud like other cafes would be - Tables looked clean, wouldn't mind staying here to study for a bit SERVICE: (4/5) - Greeted with a smile - Coffee came fast - Ordered some water bc we were super thirsty & the person was kind enough to point out they give water cups so we were able to save some $ FOOD/DRINKS: (4/5) - Chocolate Chip Cookie (3/5) = crunchy outer crumb however the gooey inside is only gooey since they undercook the dough so it's a bit raw inside, which I'm not personally a fan of. Also the cookie was not warmed before it was served. As someone that was on a cookie hunt adventure it was pretty disappointing. However, the sweetness to salty level was well balanced so not a complete disappointment - Cold Brew (4/5): strong drip but a very mild sour after taste. I visited Seven Grams Caffe when I was in NYC. It looked nice from the outside, so I decided to give it a try. I always try something with alternative milk and try something offbeat like a vegan cookie. This was no different. I probably made a mistake by not getting a chocolate cookie, so I will have to go back at some point to try again. I got a brownie instead. It was alright. Not getting what they are known for definitely feels like a big mistake. The coffee was good and hit the spot for my severely sleep-deprived self. It was super hot, which was great since I needed to slowly sip it while commuting to NYU. I ended up sitting in the shop for a bit and I could see how this would be a nice place to work for a bit. I could absolutely envision myself staying nearby and then working on work or school there. The woman at the register was super patient and kind while I wavered about what I wanted to order. read more

Came to do some work here while I had an hour to kill, and grabbed a matcha latte in the process. It's a small spot with not a ton of seating. Matcha latte was solid, but rather small compared to other places. There's wifi, but as it was rather slow, I ended up just using my hotspot. My main issue was that there was no public bathroom, and had to pee so badly by the time I left. Not a great place to stay and work, unless you can drink coffee without having to pee for a long time. read more

Small coffee shop in/near Chelsea. Fast friendly service. The coffee is delicious and strong. They have flavored syrups if you want a flavored latte, just ask. I had an iced lavender latte with oat milk this last visit, and it was perfect. Ordered an iced caramel latte for my dad, and he loved it. Can't complain! (Haven't tried the sweets here so can't review those.) Whenever I stay in Chelsea, I'll try to come here! read more

What an amazing latte. I got a medium cup with 2% milk. It was so foamy and creamy. I tried my best to savor every sip. The barista was so nice, too. He talked me through some questions I had and he was quite friendly. I wish I got his name, but he was tall and Hispanic. The place itself is not loud and has a calm vibe going on. The WiFi was not working on my phone or laptop (only downside). Otherwise, would have loved to stay and work a bit. I will definitely be back for those lattes! Great coffee shop, within walking distance from 6th & 7th Ave. I've been getting their Mocha everyday for the past week and it has been on point each time. The ambiance is cute and the service is always great. If there was one thing I had to pick on, I would say that their coffees are expensive for the quantity, but if thats the premium one charges for good quality coffee, I can be convinced for it. read more

I've had Seven Grams bookmarked for awhile and there was a special flavor cookie a few months ago that I wanted to try but I couldn't get over there however they do deliver so if I'm at work I may have to indulge lol. Today I wasn't too far from this location and even though I had a free cookie on my Potbelly rewards, I really wanted to try the cookie here. I was tempted to try the Amarena cherry cookie but it looked more oversized (which sometimes means less chewy/gooey). So next time for that one! I got an original chocolate chip cookie and bonus, still slightly warm. I took a little chunk while I was in there. Soooooooo yummy! Not too sweet, perfect and baked to just the right texture. The guy helping me was really nice and it was nice and clean in there. Definitely will be back! Or order delivery lol read more

All I tried was their simple chocolate chip cookie which was delicious. They're thick, great texture, good ratio of chips to dough. Only reason I gave 4 stars is bc it's overpriced for a cookie (~$7) but what isn't these days? Worth picking up as a treat every now and then. They have other flavors which I can't remember right now and some seasonal ones too. read more

Great coffee shop basically across from FIT. Staff is nice and welcoming. They crank out all your favorite drinks fairly quickly. I enjoy an Almond milk latte with cinnamon... was very happy that cinnamon was there in the counter for me to sprinkle . There are also a variety of sweetness you can use yourself. They sell pastries and sweets as well. Came in around 9:30am and the lady ahead of me got the last croissant. Average noise level- typical coffee house sounds. There is a good amount of seating for the space, but the tables looked kinda small. Wifi is free to use. Enjoy! read more

Stopped in here for a quick coffee while waiting for our daughter to get out of class at FIT. It was definitely a younger crowd, but the coffee was good. Unfortunately, they only had to go cups. There was also a large selection of pastries, which looks really good and are made in house. read more

Not worth the cost, didn't live up to the hype for me. The underbaked chocolate chip cookie looks amazing in photos but was just okay. For $6, I was hoping for more brown butter flavor in the dough, but the only interesting thing about the cookie was that the inside was raw cookie dough. The outside and edges were really boring in texture and taste. The peanut butter cookie wasn't super peanut buttery and it was baked through so it didn't even have the gooeyness of the chocolate chip cookie. They didn't have napkins, which is kind of a weird choice for somewhere boasting ooey gooey cookies. My hands got oily from the cookies and I could've used something to clean up with. There wasn't a bathroom for customers either. They did have free water available, just have to ask for a cup. And the seating is pretty nice. read more

I was trying to find a bathroom while walking around the area and stumbled across Seven Grams. I got a double shot macchiato and probably should have asked if there was a restroom before I ordered it; sadly, there was no bathroom here, LOL. Very fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the macchiato was! A double shot was fairly cheap ($3.75). The espresso (tasted like dark chocolate and nuts) was the perfect strength - deep and not bitter. The dash of milk they added balanced it well. Overall, it was good but not extraordinary. The beans they sell here seem to have mostly chocolate/nutty tasting notes! read more

This was one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had- and I've eaten a lot of chocolate chip cookies in my life. It was a generous size, absolutely full of chocolate chunks (I think I tasted both milk and dark chocolate), and had enough salt (unlike Levain IMO). I would eat this every day if I lived nearby. I also had an excellent iced vanilla latte, and the staff were very friendly. read more

The time of pumpkin spice is upon us! They made a good version of it. And of course had non dairy options as well. But we're not here for that! But the cookie, I can't say enough about the cookie. The chocolate chip cookie. No not the vegan version. The full on non vegan version! I enjoyed the cookie, soft inside. Chocolate chunks inside. No your grandma didn't make it. It doesn't taste homemade but it tastes pretty good and goes well with your coffee. The croissant I had was flakey and it got all over the place and I'm not even complaining! Their baked goods selection looks really good. I can't wait to try them next time. read more

Came for the chocolate chip cookie and wow this was not a good one at all. IT was dry, tough, and had little to none of the gooey center you'd expect. The one I was given was slightly burnt on one end, making it bitter. I'm not one for things that are too sweet, but it was almost like this was made without any sugar at all. Or butter for that matter. I'm not sure how it turned out as bland as it did frankly. Not only that, it cost more than the many far superior options in the area. Hopefully they have good coffee, because this was simply not it. read more

I ordered what I thought was the chocolate chip cookie. It had some other fruit in it -- not dried fruit. A candy of some sort? I don't know. Not complaining as it was exactly the sugary pick-me-up I was looking for before an appointment. (It''s no Levain cookie but it is, as the baggie it's put in says, gooey.) Coffee was okay. Service was friendly. There was lots of seating mid-afternoon which was sort of key. Acoustics weren't great so the other conversations in here seemed loud. read more

We have no intention of starting a Breaking Bad inspired cartel. But yes, the thing we're doing does involve some cooking and an exact formula to make things just right. The name Seven Grams is an ode to the true Italian standard, where the perfect espresso shot is made out of exactly seven grams of ground premium coffee. And that is what we're all about - the absolute best cup of Italian coffee, topped with artisan baked goods.

Even though I wasn't going to try all three, I like having options to choose from. I was debating between Hinata and Hajime, so I asked the staff which one has a strong flavor and she recommended Hinata. I went with that. It's meant to have a nutty creamy taste. I'm satisfied that I can taste the nutty creaminess. Though I wish it can be bolder and have more umami. Perhaps it has to do with concentration. At the same time, $6.50 is a good price given the location, alternative matcha and drink options nearby, flavor. I also asked how much matcha they use in the medium vs large sizes. Medium is 4g for a 12oz cup. Large is 5g for a 16oz cup. Even though large is a better deal by volume, I got medium because it has a higher concentration of matcha. Since I got a hot latte, my cup came with the lid on it already. I didn't look at it immediately, so no photo available lol. I looked later on and the color looks bright green. The seating is weird where they only have a table with two seats against the window. Then there's a random one chair next to the cashier and another one next to the pickup area. The stools are slightly taller than the counters which made me feel like I was towering over the counter. I don't recommend betting on spending time to hang out there. Just buy it to go.

The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.

It was a chilly, rainy Saturday morning when we ducked into Seven Grams Coffee to warm up with some hot drinks. As soon as we stepped inside, the cozy atmosphere enveloped us - it was all exposed brick, wooden tables, and the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries. I ordered an americano under the name "Zebra" while Scarlette opted for a chai latte. The barista called out "Zebra!" when my drink was ready - a fun touch I always appreciate at coffee shops. We also decided to share a flaky croissant to satisfy our breakfast cravings. Sipping our drinks, we relaxed into the laidback vibe. My americano hit the spot with its smooth, subtly sweet flavor. Scarlette was delighted by the spiced chai latte - not too sweet, with just the right amount of foam. We savored the croissant as well - the outer layers delicately crisp and the interior tender and pillowy. With jazz playing softly in the background, we chatted for nearly an hour, peering out the rain-streaked windows. The gloomy weather made the cozy cafe feel even more welcoming.
