It was okay. They change their meat from there lunch and dinner menus so not the best meats at lunch time. They dont have as much on the side to eat as some others all you can eat locations. They dont have eggs. The manager actually put his hands in the green chili/onion container and added it to something else hands were not washed cause he just served a table and did that on the way back to the kitchen so not clean at all. But if you are not taking customer at a specific time then your hours should reflect it. I came to eat at Shabu Lin with my mom on Thanksgiving day, it was nice that such a quaint and welcoming hot pot place was opened on a holiday. I have a small family so thanksgiving can be "lonesome" and it sucks in the previous years when we'd try to go out to eat and no restaurants would be open. Anyway! Shabu Lin is amazingly, all you can eat. My mom and I were shook when we were able to keep ordered premium slices of meat, with a buffet style for vegetables and seafood. Usually when there's something like a buffet, it's always really messy and dirty. But at Shabu Lin, there was a lot of workers keeping the buffets clean. The workers were really nice and friendly and I really like their "live wait time" feature on Yelp. I actually tried to make a reservation for Thanksgiving dinner but unfortunately they don't take reservations under 6 people. BUT the person I spoke to did take down my name and told me that if there was a wait he'd hold a spot for my mom and I, which I thought was SUPER nice. After my mom and I ate there I even took my boyfriend back in two days LOL I think I'll be going back to Shabu Lin pretty often. Nice all you can eat shabu2 in Arcadia. Tried this on a weekday lunch with some friends. Here's how it work, you get your own pot of shabu broth, pick your broth, order your meat, and get your own veggies, seafood, meatbalss, dipping sauces, and other condiments. They also serves some ready food like fried rice and chap cae (stir fry korean glass noodle). For broth we tried sukiyaki and their special #1 (which i believe it made from kombu, shrimp and other good stuffs). Their Sukiyaki has a slight sweetness which not too overpowering, and broth #1 has a very light flavour, but as you keep cooking on your broth with meat and other veggies, it added more flavour to it. Personally I like their Sukiyaki more than the #1. For lunch you have a limited meat selections compare to dinner, dinner will cost you almost $30 and lunch is $18. But still no complain as the quality of the meat is fresh and not too fatty. On the seafood sides, they have shrimp, baby octopus, clams, and crabs. Some varieties of shrimp, fish, squid balls, 2 or 3 kinds of mushrooms, and veggies are fresh here (typical shabu, bokchoy, napa, tong ho, spinach) and lots alots alots of noodles type (udon, ramen, glass noodle, vermicelli). Not to mentions so many condiments to choose from, tried their Lin's special satay sauce. Its that good. Found this place on yelp after being told we might not be able to be seated at MoMo Paradise after having waited 2 hours during their soft opening. My cousins and I got here around 8:40pm on a Friday night and there was a good crowd but no wait. It's AYCE with individual pots but we couldn't decide on a broth so our waiter kindly offered us samples. I got the ginseng chicken which tasted really homey and asian mom approved. As for the sides, there is a veggie bar with a wide selection of seafood, fishballs, veggies, and pretty much the typical hotpot foods. You could also pick however many sauces you'd like (perfect for indecisive people like me). I liked how each sauce had a name tag with the ingredients and suggestions on what it dips best with. My favorite was the pineapple ginger. We all enjoyed our food but felt a bit rushed at the end because we ordered 8 orders of meat during their last call at 9:40pm before knowing they had a strict 10pm closing policy. We scarfed down the meat as fast as we could and my cousins sipped as much of the soup as they could before we really had to leave (they really liked the soup). The bone broth soup base was light at first but it grows on you when u use thier lin's special sauce. The kimchi army soup was great. They give you a piece of cheese where you can add it to the soup base. It's on the side so if you dont like cheese dont worry. Thier buffet style of veggies, seafood, sauces, noodles, banchan dishes and different variety of balls are all self serve as much as you want. Meat is order by plate. We had all of it and everything was delicious. Theres a few chefs cutting the meat behind the glass where u get to watch. Right now its grand opening, for lunch you get dinner menu but for lunch prices. This place is comparable to haidilao hot pot except AYCE. They dont have alcohol yet but in two weeks time they will. Quick Tips: 1. Located on the corner of Alta and 1st. Ave. 2. Dinner and weekend dinner is $26.99 and lunch is $16.99. The difference is in number of meat choices! 3. The dinner menu includes wagyu eye of round and chuck roll, prime top blade, short rib, brisket, pork shoulder, pork belly, chicken breast, lamb leg, and fish. The lunch menu includes brisket, angus beef, pork shoulder, and fish. 4. Check in on yelp for a free hot tea or soda! Shabu Lin opened about two weeks ago and features all you can eat style shabu pots. The soup bases include pork bone broth, Korean army soup (kimchi soup with cheese that is optional), sukiyaki, miso soup, and house special shrimp soup. The soups at its base are not spicy, but you can request your soup to be spicy instead. My wife and I tried the pork bone soup, the Korean army soup, and the sukiyaki soup. My wife and I both really like the pork bone soup! My recommendation is to go heavy on the aromatics like garlic and cilantro to really prop up your soup. I didn't really like the korean army soup because it had a fishy taste. The sukiyaki was also great and delicately sweet. The pots are sit into divets on the table with heaters that plug directly into outlets that are on the ground. I find this to be a slight safety concern because what if you accidentally spill water or soup and it gets into the outlet? Regardless, the seating is pretty spacious. The AYCE portion includes not only the meat but also a wide variety of veggies, aromatics, frozen goods, and seafood. There is also a small area for hot foods at the very far end of the area. The veggies include tong ho, spinach, cabbage, bamboo, corn, onions, and jalapeno peppers. Aromatics include cilantro, diced jalapeno peppers, and grated garlic. The veggies are very fresh, so this is a big plus! As for frozen goods, you have your standard tofu and several different types of fish cakes and balls. By far my favorite are the pink fish balls because they are actually stuffed. This is more of the traditional fish ball with a little meat inside of it! My second favorite are the traditional korean style fish cakes that look like little triangles. There are also some other boilable goods like quail eggs that you can grab if you're interested. As for the seafood, I'm not sure there is much of a difference between lunch or dinner. The seafood included mussels, crawfish, squid, and crab. The shrimp was quite fresh and tasty, but the crab was a little small and harder to eat. The crawfish was only so-so according to my wife, and the mussels are prone to overcooking so carefully watch them! The hot food section is by far the WORST: inadequate heating creates lukewarm to outright cold food. There hot foods include popcorn chicken, spring rolls, japchae, fried rice, and stewed meat. I think for dinner, they also had tempura shrimp. You better grab these hot foods when you see them exit the kitchen because that's probably the last time they will actually be hot. As we've been here for dinner and for lunch, I'll review the meats going forward: - Wagyu Eye of Round -- Very lean, and within broth lost a lot of flavor, not sure if it was just because it was lean, but this was our least favorite of the meats. - Wagyu Chuck Roll -- Better, but still very lean. I think wagyu is just a cut that should be really fatty and marbled to really be enjoyed. I feel like in shabu places it can be really hit or miss. - Prime Top Blade -- By far our favorite dinner meat, this was incredibly greatly marbled and one of the tastier pieces of meat that we were able to enjoy - Short Rib -- Fatty, but it was a little stringy throughout meaning that it feels like the meat is kinda hard to lose track of if you're not quickly cooking it and keeping it in your chopsticks - Brisket -- Ask for it fatty, but be aware that your meat may still come out a bit on the lean side. If it's lean the taste will be so-so, but the fattier piece really shine - Pork Shoulder -- Tried for lunch, and thought it was a little dry due to the cut. - Pork Belly -- Really nice since it is a fatty cut, but beware of it being a little thin and easy to lose - Chicken breast -- Thicker cuts which translate into kind of dry tasting meat, would not recommend - Did not try the fish! Overall, i would recommend people to come for weekday lunch. They charge for dinner price through the weekend. I feel like the meat quality and variety does not beg a great value proposition from dinner over lunch. Lastly, a note about the service. When we arrived it was a Saturday night around 8:00 PM. It was pretty much 75% full. There were many tables, which were dirty and unready to be flipped. We waited for a good ten minutes for them to seat us. There was also an issue with the Yelp checkin being honored and required manager approval. Overall though, our waitress had a good attitude and was apologetic! Some growing pains to be sure. After eating a cookie, my friend and I came here for lunch. This was my second time trying hotpot since the pandemic and to be honest, I was so nervous to start eating out again. Every time I go out, I always have a mask on no matter what, but I am glad I came as I am getting more use to not weaking a mask all the time. All the meat looked different, but pretty much tasted the same. I rarely eat meat so I should have tasted the difference. I should have attempted the famous Gordan Ramsey's Hell's Kitchen "Blind Taste Test" just for fun.
