I've tried four different broths so far and liked them all. Their coconut ice cream and green tea are made in-house -- you can really taste the freshness. My friend is head over heels for their waffle and ice cream. The waffles are served warm, with a texture that's not too hard or too soft -- just the right crunch, balanced with a smattering of sliced strawberries. Guys, don't be fooled. It's bad. Really bad. The rating fooled me into coming here. Meat quality is terrible - there are a few premium options, and they are just as bad. The sauces are bad. The soda machine doesn't work. (Soda cans are there for show, they don't actually sell them.) I think they used to have sushi, but I didn't see any on the menu - which makes the name misleading. It's not cheap either, so I don't understand the draw. The only thing I enjoyed was the painting of this cat on the wall. OMG! Was this place was a phenomenal last minute find! We all couldn't stop talking about how good the food was! Super fresh, delish and all you can eat for $35 (heck of a deal)! We've never been to such a place, so at first we were a bit lost on how it all worked, but the servers were very helpful, with genuine smiles and kindness; plus, they were very attentive to our needs and requests! First I'd like to start by saying I've been a local regular for years. Hotpot is such a delight and joy. I'm happy to confirm their price for dinner is back to $28 which is fantastic value. However, the service and experience was not what it used to be. I've been a waiter and manager of restaurants in my younger years, so I understand to an extent. I'll just lay the facts for you. My party of 4 sat at 8:30, we were not pre warned that the kitchen closes at 9:10. The establishment closes at 10pm. The bulk of our first order arrives at the table around 8:50. The check was dropped at 9:30 and told we needed to settle immediately, we were literally only half way through our meal. At 9:45 we were sternly reminded that they close in 10mins... check the math on that. We were not able to finish our meal. There was 1 waiter and 1 kitchen staff. We were 1 of 2 tables during the entire meal. Which the second table sat down just shortly after us. It was evident we all had the same experience. I would very much love to see this place bounce back as I have seen it do before. I understand needing to find the balance of profit and sustainability. Our fave broth tasted like Tom yum soup! The all you can eat Shabu Shabu with sushi was a great deal for the money! There were so many meats, toppings, sauces, etc to choose from. For the entry price point, there's limited sushi selection if you like to order more sushi, choose the higher price point. I've never had thai hot pot before and I think this was such a treat! I came with 2 other people so we got to get 4 different flavors of broth. ended up getting pork bone, tom yum, truffle and cheese, and the asian chim chum. My two favorites was the asian chim chum and the tom yum. Those both had the most flavor, the truffle and pork bone was "bland" which isn't bad at all, because you add the sauce for more flavor! We ended up doing premium, which adds on premium meats, as well as premium add-ons like the egg (AMAZING) and the tartare and carpaccio. Both were excellent! You also can get the seafood which was yummy. They have less amount of self-serve items, but I think they make it up for the quality of the meats. Plus, there wasn't anything that I wanted and wish they had. I'm sad that this place is so out of the way in hollywood, but if i'm ever even remotely in the area, id recommend it! read more

I'm a shabu-shabu FIEND and I do not discriminate against AYCE shabu. ShaBuShi has been on my bookmarks since I moved to Los Feliz because I needed something to fill the hole that was left when I moved away from Orange County. I tried Shabuya in Ktown, which was delicious, but it was pricey. Finally tried ShaBuShi and I had no regrets! It was so good I had it two days in a row hahaha. The veggie bar is slim, but it has all of the necessities (broccoli, carrots, bok choy, chrysanthemum leaves, and button mushrooms. The only thing I wish they had was enoki mushrooms! The meats were plentiful and I really love the cuts they use. The slices range from thin to medium thickness, but all of the slices have been really tender. Their sushi is also really fresh! The spicy tuna roll is hand chopped - Crazy for an AYCE spot. What stands out to me is the option for both Japanese or Thai style broths and sauces. I love sukiyaki and tom yum so I'm glad I got to satisfy both of those cravings. And then they have these really yummy sukiyaki and seafood sauces at the sauce bar. Their goma is okay, but I'm pretty picky about my goma. This is a great AYCE hot pot place if you're not looking for anything too fancy, but it gets the job done. We asked Pan (the waitress) on what broth we should try aside from spicy tom yum amd we followed her other suggestions. There are choices for the AYCE (like $28, $35, and $50 per person). Aside from the hotpot, there is also sushi offerings. Additionally, oolong and milk tea is just $2.55 and there a lot of other choices for drinks. There is a buffet table where you get vegetables like cabbage, bok choy, tofu, fish and lobster balls and a lot more plus sushi. Customer service is good! Pan is friendly and attentive to our needs. I ordered the premium all you can eat for $35, which sounded reasonable looking at the offerings on the menu. However, ordering the premium items such as Wagyu yukke and wagyu tataki, was surprisingly bad. Meat did not seem fresh (which is a must when offering raw) and there was no flavor.
