Portions are large, so don't order appetizers and full main dish, unless you are starving or have a massive appetite. The mini burger may be the solution to eating too much. Ohhhh my goodness, get the lobster mac n cheese--it's delicious!!! Also any drink with blueberries in it (we enjoyed the seasonal sangria). The clam chowder was also decent. We came here for lunch while staying in Bar Harbor. I ordered the mac & cheese, which I had hopes for, since they have almost a whole page of the menu dedicated to the mac & cheese menu. The (large) dish was a good size, but I thought it lacked flavor and that cheesy factor that you hope for in a good mac & cheese. My husband ordered the fried haddock sandwich, which he enjoyed. The chips on the side were delicious. Our service was just fine, nothing horrible but nothing to write home about. Our server seemed busy and unhappy to be working. Came in for lunch right after our morning hike, and the food totally hit the spot. The menu is fairly typical pub food, but the flavor is not heavy, quite close to homemade food. The service was excellent even under all the new COVID rules. We split the big soft pretzel as a starter, and it's soft with the right amount of chew. It came nicely warmed with two dipping sauce, both excellent. The lobster roll was $30, about $10 more than other places, but it's well worth it. It's packed with lobster meat, easily 1.5 times larger. The bun was nicely toasted and buttered. It also came with homemade potato chips and a bowl of clam chowder. The whole plate was outstanding. We didn't have a reservation but tried to get in for dinner around 840 mid week. We received a text that our table was ready shortly after 9, which beat the 30 min wait we were told. Service was good, friendly staff. Menu reminded me of chain-American fare (think Applebee's-ish), but better quality with a seafood twist. All the food was good, fresh, well prepared, but after dining in Portland days before, was nothing mind-blowing. My favorite was the clam chowder- simple but tasty, not too thick, well balanced, just a tad creamier than I prefer. Lobster tacos were loaded with lobster meat. We are here on Thursday (8/25/16) at 3pm for a late lunch. My fiancé and I were born and raised in Bangor and have grown up eating lobster. The food was okay. We chose this restaurant based on the 2200+ tripadvisor reviews. The most disappointing part of this meal was the lobster mac and cheese. It was terrible. We currently live in Savannah, GA, home to Paula Deen. When the menu stated that this was her favorite lobster mac and cheese, we knew it had to be the best. Wrong. For $23, we would have been better off to buy a lobster or two (currently sold live for $6.99/lb, soft shell in Bangor) and make Mac and cheese ourselves. So, the most disappointing part is that the lobster meat was frozen. For that price, I wish they'd use fresh lobster meat. Anybody that eats lobster meat semi-regularly knows the different a (look, taste, texture). The table next to us got the lobster salad, also frozen. This is probably okay for tourists that don't know the difference, but locals- save your money!! The buffalo chicken wings were okay. Their buffalo sauce was different, but just okay. The loaded pub fries should have been good, but I think the fries may have been deep fried twice because 1/2 of them were burnt and had a gross flavor. $45 on food (before tip) was not worth it. The concepts were all great, the menu was awesome, but the quality of food for the price was awful. I'm going to post photos of the lobster mac so you can see. Everything was really good overall. The dude at the Best Buy in Bangor recommended this place so we knew if locals were recommending it - it had to be good. I had the clam chowder, lobster roll, and blueberry pie. The clam chowder was some of the best I've ever had (although I'm from Wisconsin where it's impossible to find good clam chowder). The lobster roll was pretty good - but pretty small for the price and it only came with chips. I thought for $20 it would at least come with fries. Blueberry pie was really amazing - especially warmed up. Overall - it's a great option in Bar Harbor if your looking for authentic Maine food. read more

This place is between a 2 and 3 star. Our server was friendly as was the staff, but we were the first to get there and still didn't get our order placed until 20 mins later. We tried to come here two days ago but the wait was over an hour. I ordered the black bean quesadilla and for $14 I literally got black beans and cheese. You'd think for that much you'd get more beans but half of the slices were half full. There was no seasoning in it either. We got the loaded fries and had to eat a fry with each bite to make it palatable. Ordered hot sauce and that helped. My sister got the black bean wrap and that was also bland and had no flavor. I would have gotten a Mac and cheese with add ins but all the premade flavors had meat in them. And to make a specialty Mac and cheese with the add ins without ham would have costed more than the one with meat since no substitutions are allowed. All in all I was disappointed with the vegetarian options and the prices. And I'm glad I didn't wait an hour to eat here. Or I would have been more disappointed. read more

Because of the great reviews on Yelp, we thought we would give their happy hour a try. We almost didn't go in since from the outside it appeared 'packed'. Only an illusion however since inside seating was still available. Our waitress, Ellie, was very efficient & had our drinks on the table in no time flat! An excellent Margarita for $5 & a house wine for $4. Both were very good. We split an order of fish tacos which included rice & black beans. Came for takeout while on vacation in the area. Received our food to go with no silverware, understandable and common mistake.
