I ordered the pho soup with pork meatballs and the soup was great...except the meatballs. They were almost inedible. They were so rubbery and hard to chew, if I had been in the restaurant and not gotten this meal as takeout I would have sent it back, and I have never sent back food. This is my go to restaurant in Bee Cave. The food is always fresh, delicious and plentiful. The lemon grass shrimp is probably my favorite, close second is black pepper beef, which is odd as I'm not a huge fan of black pepper OR beef... Oue neighbor told us that we needed to try this place as we can't seem to find good Asian cuisine. We were very pleased to have given Simply Pho House a try and my wife and I actually had other items besides Pho (which is what they are famous for). I was surprised because the food we ordered was delicious and I think the name is misleading because there are many other delicious items besides Pho. My wife has a gluten allergy and she enjoyed the Pad Thai and I had General Tso's chicken. We also ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and we were both very pleased with all of our dishes. Next time we will try the Pho but there is plenty of other good choices including some great beer on tap, including IPA! read more

I ordered the shrimp lo mein. It was very sub-par. There was about a puddle of water at the bottom of the plate moat likely from the half cooked vegetables. It was pricey at almost $15 but tasted like something out pf the freezer at you local HEB. The wait staff wasn't very friendly and they all kept their cigarette packages on the counter right behind me which I could smell while I was eating. I will not be returning. read more

The food is ok given the scarcity of tasty Asian food in the area; the service was ok but has gone down to an unacceptable level since they moved to the Galleria. The servers all seem like robots without facial expressions, not so much for making you feel welcomed and yet they worked less efficiently than robots. I called to place a pick-up order and was put on hold for 6 minutes - I felt forgotten. I decided to hang up and drove to the restaurant to order instead since I wasn't that far away; the receptionist had no greetings or facial expressions, and never said "thank you" in our transactions. I waited there for close to 30 minutes and finally they realized there was an item missing to make my to-go order complete while the hot soup and fried food had been in the plastic containers for so long. I finally got the last item thrown into the bag, which was handed to me by the receptionist without much etiquette training - no words and no expressions of any kind. After I got in the car, she ran after me to ask to exchange the item because she handed me the wrong one. Prior to this, we had a server who forgot our dine-in order and did not check on us during the meal, and yet complained about other customers not tipping well. We gave him a good tip nonetheless. I understand the pandemic has shifted the workforce tremendously and it's hard to get people in the service industry. However, I wonder how long this excuse can be valid if the basic training and level of service remain below the bar. I am gravely disappointed at the negative experiences I've had at this place since their move to a bigger and prettier space. I hope the owners will take inventory of their staff's performances and do something about them. read more

Their broth is so terrible for their chicken Pho, they use cinnamon or some terrible spice that ruins their pho. Seriously, how do you mess up broth? This has got to be the worst-managed restaurant in the area. The pho is actually pretty good (though it's no Dong Nai), but the service and professionalism are incredibly atrocious. I've ordered the Pho to go here many times. There's always some issue with the service - rude on the phone, telling me they're closed well before their listed hours or general unpleasant attitudes at the pickup counter. Tonight was even more impressively bad. I ordered a beer at the bar while getting Pho to go. The bartender, Emily, was unabashedly talking about all kinds of personal problems for everyone to hear... child support issues, baby daddy ex-gf issues, finding syringes, and more. Listen, I understand life is tough for everyone, but check that stuff at the door. I had to get up and sit by the door just to not hear about all this Jerry Springer stuff. Just give me my food and let me go home. My food came out pretty quickly and ended up tasting pretty good. Emily brought it to me and simply said, "Sorry if I offended you." Not offended, just amazed at the lack of awareness. If this restaurant had management or ownership who cared at all about customer experience and professionalism with their product, they'd be incredible. Again, the food is good. Today was a cold windy day, perfect pho weather and hubby and I didn't feel like driving far up north so we reluctantly return to our SW pho place. Knowing full well this place has been inconsistent we risked it anyway. Should have been a bad sign when we were seated and I was given a blank menu. Read off of hubby's menu and we placed our order. Got my spring rolls apps quickly but had no water to quench. Waitress please give us our water. Got our phos but had no chopsticks (I'm Vietnamese). Waitress, can we get some chopsticks? She started clearing our table, dropped a spoon. Time to get to go box, hubby had to leave early to catch meeting. Can I get separate box for broth and noodles please? Waitress brings out 1 box and says it'll all go in 1 container. I protested but she insisted and she'll do it for me. My bad, must be a new 1 container separation system I've never heard of. She comes back and it's all in 1 container. I scrutinize and ask her is there an invisible separation thingy in that container? She said no, she just dumped it all together. Can you just bring me another box and I'll just scoop the noodles out of this broth container so broth is by itself? Thanks, I'm surprised at how patient I'm being, I'm very polite still (very unlike me). She takes away my spring roll plate and drops the hoisin sauce bowl on the floor. No one picks it up. She brings me the check. It's not ours. I see the name on the credit card, ain't mine. It's gonna take me forever to flag her down and exchange. I call out cardholder's name loudly, everyone looks my way, "Is there a so and so here", "that's me" said cardholder sitting next to my table. He and I have a laugh. I give him his card. Waitress comes to my table and says "guess I should bring you your ticket", well sure, if you'd like me to pay. At this point I'm beyond pissed. I feel sorry for her. She's having a crappy day or just really sucks at her job. I give her a very nice tip, she's surprised and I am too. What really disappointed me about this visit was not the service, if you can believe it, but rather the owner/management. When I was scooping out the noodles to put into another container I saw the owner pass by and flagged her down and spoke to her in Vietnamese to let her know that her staff needs to bring out 2 separate containers when a customer wants their pho to go. And if staff doesn't know, they should at least comply when customers request it. Owner doesn't acknowledge my consult she flippantly tells me that her staff is "American" and doesn't know any better. Wtf! Then she says your noodles are already soggy anyway, what's the diff? And that folks is why I didn't stiff the waitress, her incompetence or lack of diligence in her job prolly started from the top's influence. read more

I absolutely love this place! The best on the menu is the pork vermicelli, B4, I have never had better tasting barbecue pork in my life. Plus the julienned vegetables, fish sauce (sounds horrible but tastes fabulous) and the delicate rice noodles are the perfect complement. But I also love the Pho chicken and brisket soup. Sheesh, I recently went to this restaurant on a date and was super impressed with how great the fried rice I had ordered was, but I couldn't figure out why I was so thirsty. This review is for 'Simply Pho House' located in the Beecaves area across from Specs Liquor. Consistent, delicious food every time! I have had Pho from various restaurants ranging from Round Rock to Kyle. This is by far the best Pho house in or around Austin. You can expect consistently high quality and delicious food every time you show up. Staff has always been friendly and happy to meet our needs. I have even seen the owners working there from time to time and spoken a quick polite word with them. Note: The pictures on here seem out of date. Excellent. Our experience is limited to Banh Mi sandwiches, the Pho and the delicious frozen bubble (boba) drinks. The Banh Mi sandwiches are great. We enjoy the Pho which is not bland and more "cinnamony" as is our preference. The crispy eggrolls are good too. Service is friendly. read more

I've been going to Simply Pho House weekly for the last two years. I was excited when the dining room re-opened in June and had a very good meal in a safe environment a couple of weeks ago. I went back today to get my pho fix and the restaurant was not taking any safety precautions - servers/bartenders were not wearing masks, condiments were being served out of communal bottles (not individual packets), no disposable menus, etc. I decided to stay and eat but will not go back nor order take out from this restaurant again. I was in the area and just really couldn't bring myself to eat fast food, and with the weather being cold some pho sounded appealing. This place was super close, so I gave it a shot. I don't consider myself a pho connesieur or anything, but I would say that their broth was very good, better than some other joints I've been to in Austin. Also a nice portion of large meatballs, which is not always the case when I get meatball pho. Since a lot of the reviews complain about the portion size, I will say that they are only small compared to other pho places, where I never order the large. It was definitely enough food for me, but the price is about $2 more than most places like, say, North Lamar. However this area is really expensive, so it's understandable. I came in at 12:15pm and had a 5min wait, and I think I got my food within 10-15 min of sitting down. The parking lot was rather difficult, though. Overall a good option for a quick lunch, if you're not getting anything too fancy. read more

I'm a bit appalled by the size of the "large" chicken pho. I've ordered many phos in my life and have never had this tiny of an amount of chicken and soup add ins. Refer to pics please. This may have been a half a cup of chicken max. The jalapeños are insanely spicy. I love spicy things and I usually leave the jalapeños in my soup as I'm eating, however my friend told me that she could hardly eat her soup because of the jalapeños, so I took mine out, and the soup was still too spicy. I wouldn't take off points for that, it's just something to note. The guy working the register was nice, however I won't be back due to the small size of the large pho. read more
