Very disappointing. We ordered 2 dishes for dinner 1) Pad Kee Mao , 2) Singapore Noodles. Both of them shared one major problem: the chicken was stale. (chicken cooked earlier - many hours- had acquired a stale bad taste to the extent it was inedible). Singapore Noodles (combo) - did not get enough "wok time"; therefore the noodles and the meat, vegetables and curry did not get integrated (that gives the distinctive aroma and taste); the noodles and the entire dish was too bland. Service: less than satisfactory. Our food was served within a few minutes of our order. He (William) did not get back to check whether we liked the food or not. After we got the bill nobody came to get my card and after about 10 minutes we took it to the counter and paid. The only promising aspect to this disappointing dinner was that the manager (Nick) was courteous and listened to us and our comments on the food; he said that there was somebody new in the kitchen and that he will convey our concerns to the management. I certainly hope he follows through and corrects the problems. read more

We have just returned hungry after eating at Simply Pho House, the reason being that the meatballs in the pho tasted spoiled. When I expressed my concern to the waiter, he took my bowl to the kitchen, whereupon he returned shortly after with the same bowl and told me that the kitchen staff said the meatballs are fine. Then a woman who works there came to my table and argued with me. I was charged for the food that I could not eat because it tasted spoiled. read more

I'm not sure what some other reviewers are talking about. We have eaten Pho at most of the other Vietnamese restaurants in Austin and none have been as good as it is here (and we are extremely picky foodies at heart!:). If the food is bad and service terrible, why is this place absolutely PACKED with people??? We just ate there yesterday and heard rave reviews from other diners as well. The portions are huge too so unless you are used to eating from a trough I'm not sure how you can say they are small. I agree that they sometimes skimp a bit on the herbs for the Pho but I always ask for more and they bring it...with a smile! We also just returned from a trip to Vietnam last week and both my husband and I agree that the Pho we have had here is actually better than any we had in Vietnam during our trip. A welcome change from Blue Bamboo and great addition to Bee Cave/Galleria area! Try it for yourself! read more

Generally like eating here. Nice sandwiches, good pork dishes, like the Viet Coffee, and the Beer choice is decent. Kids like the options as well - although the reviews here kind of surprised me. We moved here from a more populous city, so we're also glad just to have a viet option of some kind. read more

Not your typical Vietnamese restaurant. The environment is inviting. The staff is very friendly. The food is delicious, nicely presented.

Tonight my family and I tried to eat at this establishment. We came in at 8:35. We hadn't even sat at our table yet when the tall red headed waiter rudely tells us we have 3 minutes to order our food. We asked what time the restaurant closed because the door said 9pm. He told us the kitchen is closing at 8:45 and we have 3 minutes. He didn't give us menus and left my husband standing at our table holding our infant in her car seat, after saying he'd bring us a high chair, which he never brought. He then yelled to our waiter to hurry and take our order. That waiter asks us to order. Again, we are still without menus! The staff was so rude and we were totally caught off guard. We asked the waiter if we should just leave. He tells us to do what we want. At this point, we asked to speak with the manager. We explain to the manager how rude everyone is being, that we have been eating at this restaurant since it opened and never experienced this type of behavior from the staff. He tells us the cooks will get mad at them if they put in an order after 8:45. The red headed waiter hears us talking to the manager and yells that "the owner will bark at him" if we don't order by 8:45pm. When we told the manager we couldn't order without menus, the rude red headed waiter yelled "well you have them now." We decide to leave the restaurant because clearly they didn't want the business. We did speak with the owner who seemed to not care that his staff was rude and running off customers. We will never go here again! It's Saigon Kitchen for us from now on. Note to owner & staff:you will never stay in business long treating your PAYING customers this way. read more

I called this place to place an order for take out at 5:30 and they took my name and said it would be 30 to 40 minutes before its ready. So 6:10 comes around and I try and pick up my food. The person who took my order said they didn't have any idea what I was talking about. and it took me 5 seconds to point to my name on the list of take out orders. Then he said it wasn't ready and would be 5 minutes. He did this twice and then finally said it had been there the whole time. I had to wait there for another 20 minutes while my food got colder. This service is horrible and their staff should be trained better. I know I'm just one customer, but I'll never go back. read more

My wife and I were very happy with both the service and the food. Flavor was great, and for me the portion was just right. Yes, the beef was a tad overcooked, but the quality of said beef was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We left very happy and will be back. read more

This was my first time here. I ordered the green curry with beef. It was a little spicy for my taste but the flavor was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend dining here. Food is still very good and they have greatly improved their service. Try their Chinese options as they are better than any so called Chinese food place here in Lakeway. Lomein not so much but most everything else is delicious. read more

I seriously don't understand the bad reviews. This place isn't fancy, but it isn't supposed to be. It is, however, a great family place. We are gluten free and dairy free and have very few choices when we go out to eat. At Simply Pho, we have so many choices! And they are all fabulous. Our toddler and infant daughters absolutely inhale anything we have ever ordered... It is all so yummy! I want to eat here weekly, it is that good. Such a wonderful addition to the area! read more

This is hands down the best pho I've ever had. It is rich and delicious and the broth is perfect, flavorful, but doesn't come across as too salty. The service is usually pretty good, though it can be a bit spotty. Usually the wait time isn't bad though. Also some of the best fried rice I've ever had, although the pho is obviously the star of the show. Definitely worth checking out and going back to. read more

I absolutely love Simply Pho House! The brisket pho soup has a ton of flavor and is my go-to. Also, the vermicelli grilled pork is top-notch, plus it comes with TWO egg rolls. These egg rolls are crispy and fantastic. As far as spring rolls, I usually get them w/ chicken and the peanut sauce it comes with is quite delicious. My experience at the Pho House was made wonderful by the service. Not only is the food great, but the waitress I have had each time I've come is always very sweet and attentive. She never fails to get my order right, even though it is sometimes complicated. If you want great food with great service, request the blond waitress. Great job guys!! 5 stars for sure. read more

Transplanted to Austin from Northern California relatively recently where there's a Noodle house on just about every corner, the food at this restaurant is middle of road compared to some of the outstanding places I've tried in San Francisco. Their dishes are a mixed bag, while their sandwich's and Thai soups are quite good, the Pho soups and bun are pretty average with appetizers and some rice plates just uninspired. Nothing terrible mind you just lacking, but something has happened since late last year that you need to consider. The portions on many items have been reduced in size, case in point, an order of spring rolls came with 3 before this is now 2. Not a deal breaker but keep in mind no pricing changes to match the 33% reduction. This seems to be the case with many of the menu items I've had recently. So while the food isn't bad it is borderline overpriced for the quality they serve. read more
