I was actually quite impressed dining here. We came here for a family dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. We ordered calamari and garlic bread as appetizers which both were really delicious. The really enjoyed the crispiness of the calamari and the garlicky cheese on the bread. I ordered the flank steak risotto with a medium cook on the steak. I absolutely loved it. The seasoning on the steak was really flavorful and I really liked that they added asparagus to the risotto. The risotto was also cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana and that was also delicious. The chicken was still juicy and the penne pasta was a good balance to it. Service was great. Our waitress did an excellent job attending us. I really liked the open kitchen concept. I used to live in Concord, CA so we would always go to the Skipolini's there, but this restaurant is great.

Second visit warrants a review. Was last in around a year ago for dinner on a Friday night for a large party. The staff was really friendly and attentive, and everything was family-casual yum. This time it was a trio during early dinner hours, and the service was even quicker, with staff bringing items and checking on the party regularly. Food and beverages were solid (pizza, pasta, and the meatball sandwich + red sangria) and the happy hour deals are generous. Nice spot for a family outing or casual bite.

Skipolini's I don't believe was ever defined as "Italian fine dining", as a matter of fact they identify themselves as "high quality food in a unique, family friendly environment, at affordable prices."I believe they do a phenomenal job at being just that! Their Chicken Piccata, Chicken Marsala, Seafood Risotto and even their Calzone's are absolutely delicious! From our groups opinion of the meal, the Piccata was sautéed in their sauce wonderfully, the Marsala sautéed with mushroom in their wine sauce was enjoyable, delicious--as was the Seafood Risotto. 7 out of 10. That evening I had a Calzone to oversimplify having a "little bit of everything" in terms of carbs, proteins and veggies. The sun-dried tomatoes in that Martinelli were delicious. 7 out of 10. I like the crust on my calzone cooked a bit more well done and buttery. You can't go wrong with any choice of cheesecake or tiramisu, I only wish the crème brûlée was a bit warmer when it was served. I believe what stood out the most was the fast and friendly service of our waitress. The light hearted moments made it overall a tremendous experience. Go check it out for yourself and if you stop in, make sure you other their bacon wrapped jalapeños. Don't be scary. They're delicious and less than moderately hot on the spice scale but of course peppers vary.

After my Physical Therapy appointment, I wanted to take my friend who drove me to my appointment to a nice lunch. Now, I have to think about where is a good place that is ADA complaint with easy access. My friend suggested Skipolini's and I said "I've never been there" and I love trying a new restaurant that I haven't been to before. We were greeted by the staff to open the door for us, which was super nice and we were seated at a table where they removed chairs to place me. After that we looked at the menu and ordered an appetizer and they had a lovely lunch menu. My friend ordered the Italian Panini, but she ended up getting a different Panini, but she said "it was still good" and I tried the Chicken Parmesan, which was absolutely huge with Penny pasta. We ordered the fried ravioli as the appetizer and it was nice that they gave us four pieces each and it was an even number. I love that. Also the decor of the restaurant was lovely. When you first walk in they have a gelato truck that looks like a bicycle pulling it and it's super cute. I didn't try the gelato though, I'll save that for next time. I did find it very dark in the restaurant and hard to read the menu. I think the lunch special was good value otherwise, I think it could be a lot more expensive if you go at dinner time. I look forward to coming back again with my husband.

12/25/26 So we came on a Wednesday night was not too crowded. Wifey was wanting Italian so we came here. It had been a while since we have come. Didn't Disappoint.. We were greeted immediately and sat very quickly. Mariah was our waitress and she was excellent and very attentive and checked on us frequently. We ordered some drinks & appetizers I had the skipolini's old fashioned which is made with Old Forester , it was excellent and Bacon wrapped Jalapeños , they were delicious. Also ordered the Caprese salad, which was very fresh and delicious. Just the right amount. For my main course I had Cajun pasta and it was delicious perfect amount of sauce and it's the right amount of spice. For dessert had the crème brûlée gelato and got it to go. My only drawback on anything was that the gelato did not really taste like crème brûlée at all but it was still good. Ambiance is very chill with low lighting and cool decor . Wife and Son also enjoyed their food as well. Was a nice evening out. Enjoy !!!!

The non-profit organization that I am involved with had an appreciation dinner for our volunteers at Skipolini's. This is the third year in a row that we've held the event in their private room by the patio. It was another successful gathering with great food and fantastic and exemplary service. Todd the manager, is extremely helpful throughout the entire process of the catering this event...he helped with with the details planning the menu, the setting up of the private dining room and then provided the most caring and thoughtful management on the night of the event. The guests and planning committee were all pleased with the dinner, the comfortable ambiance and beauty of the room, as well as the attentive and friendly service from Faith, our designated server for the evening. As part of the planning committee for this year event and past events, we'll return again. Many thanks Todd and to your staff for facilitating a wonderful appreciation night for our well-deserving volunteers.

My friend and I chose to have a girls night and have dinner at Skipolini's. The atmosphere is a little dark but it's comfortable. Our server was very nice and attentive and gave us his recommendations when we asked. We shared an appetizer of calamari. I don't care for thick pieces that are chewy. The flavor was great but my preference was not what we had. My friend loved it. I also got the chicken Parmesan and it was very very good. I also loved that it came on a bed of penne. I do wish that they offered bread but again that's just a preference. I want to go back and try the pizza..

Came here the other night with some friends. It was kind of slow when we first arrived, but we were there early. Our server was very friendly and checked on us a lot. We got our drinks right away and then she came back to take our order once we were ready. The restaurant itself is nice and open with lots of seating. The chicken piccata was overcooked and my friend didn't finish her plate. The clam chowder was extra hot which was great. The Vettie's pizza (gluten free and lactose free cheese) sounded and looked good from the description, but the cheese wasn't really melted and the toppings kept falling off. It wasn't my favorite place. I may give it another chance in the future.

We arrived at about 1pm for with about 20 members of the Reno Mustang Car Club after the VC and RENO Veterans Day Parades. We had the private room in the back of the restaurant. The food was so good, my dad ordered a cup of Clam Chowder and Italian Panini, I ordered the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeños and Cajun Pasta, and my SIL ordered Buffalo Wings and Cajun pasta as well. We shared the jalapeños and wings, and by the time our entree's arrived we were pretty full. Our server was amazing making sure everyone had drinks and water topped off and plenty of napkins to go around. It was a very pleasant experience with a group that large.

We stopped by Skipolini's and were pleasantly surprised the prices are very affordable for the quality you get. The food overall was really good, and the service was solid. The pizza was enjoyed by the kiddos and the slice I had would definitely be worth ordering again. The only miss for me was the meatball sandwich, that's was a swing and miss so I'd probably skip that next time. Still, would be back for another visit!

Not a big fan of Italian food personally, so there is definitely some bias going into this review. The pasta was delicious and the service was friendly, but it just wasn't anything outstanding. A good spot to get satisfy an Italian craving, but probably nothing more. Cool ambiance.

She made great recommendations, let us taste the wine to ensure it was a good fit for us, and made sure we were taken care of. The pizza is an Italian style with thin crust that is less cooked than a typical American thin-crust pizza. All the ingredients were fresh and the menu was obviously crafted with care. We tried the Cherry Picker and the Espana which were both unique combinations that were well balanced and flavorful. To drink we tried the Lambrusco, a fruity but not sweet sparkling red wine, and the Hugo spritz which was very well executed. For dessert we had the Cioccolato Budino which was a dense, creamy and rich mousse covered in caramel chocolate cookie crumbs and homemade whipped cream. My only complaint is that I shared instead of getting my own.

It's clear they focus on quality from the dough to the sauce to the cheese to the toppings and they put in a healthy dose of passion, fun and love too. It's been a minute since I've stopped at this place but western lights festival brought me downtown and this was part of my plan from the go. I was excited to see that they added woodfired chicken wings, one of my personal favorite dishes anywhere and had to order them and these is absolutely did not disappoint and I'll be back for them again and again. Sometimes it's tough to get a really good crispy chicken wing out of a woodfired oven but this team nailed it in there, buffalo Parmesan sauce was divine, especially with a little bit of the house made ranch. The pizzas were also good, but I didn't like that. They served them in paper takeout boxes because even the short trip from the cutting table to us in that box steamed the pizza and made it super floppy. Toppings were sliding right off the pepperoni pizza we had and it just wasn't the best pizza experience Of the white pizza we tried with spinach and roasted garlic was awesome. I don't wanna held up a little better maybe because it didn't have sauce and the roasted garlic was perfect. We grabbed food from the Pizza Collective. The wood fired wings, a pizza, the roasted cauliflower, and a glass of wine came to about $70. A bit on the high end but the portions were good. Props to the wine pours, you definitely get your money worth on that. The highlight was the wood fired wings. While not even remotely crispy, they had an interesting wood fired flavor and the buffalo sauce was very tasty. I enjoyed how tender they are and didn't miss the crispiness because the tenderness was on point. The pizza was good, but the dough was slightly undercooked in places. Wood fired ovens can be tricky and it seemed like it got the best of them today. The service was friendly. Everything came out fairly quick except for the cauliflower. They told us it would take awhile, but we ended up being finished with nearly everything else before they got the cauliflower out. West Street Market is a cool space to hang inside or out. I did notice a more run down vibe than in the past, but its still a comfortable place to enjoy some grub and drinks with good company. Give the Pizza Collective a try if your at West Street Market anyway. They have lots of good choices, including vegan options. But keep in mind there are other options. Doing some mix and match might be your best bet here.

There was a list of specials for the day too. - For a place that has "wine" in the name, I thought the wine list was a bit limited/uninspired...the reds, for example, were heavily focused on CA wines, with a few Italian ones thrown in. - My wife and I ordered the Bee Sting Pizza, the Pistachio Pesto Arancini, and the Wedge Salad...all to share between the two of us. While everything was good, the Wedge Salad was the standout, with the Arancini's a close second (and a great sized portion). One of our friends ordered the Salmon special, and it looked good but pretty small in size considering the ~$40 price tag. - Service was good. There was a mess up where the server didn't hear our friend's order correctly and brought the wrong item, but she fixed it although it meant that he didn't his food for a while after the rest of us started eating. It was an honest error, but it would be good if the staff were empowered to do some kind of goodwill gesture, e.g., a free drink, a free appetizer while he's waiting for the food, etc., when something like that happens. - There was a weird thing that happened on our bills...the total that was on the itemized bill that we got from our server didn't match up with the pre-transaction processing fee total that was on our credit card copy...and, unfortunately, our server couldn't explain why. And, yes, there is a 2.5% credit card transaction fee added on (which we didn't see on the menu or anywhere else, but we learned about when we got the itemized bill). - Vibe is just ok...it's pretty loud and the tile floor and tables/chairs felt a little cafeteria-like. I wouldn't call it cozy by any means. Bottom line: Liberty Food & Wine Exchange was a nice place to meet up and the food was tasty...when I asked my wife if she would go back again, her answer was that we should try other places first, which is probably what we'll do.
