I go here about 3 to 4 times a week for lunch, the salad bar is fresh and the brunswick stew is always hot, the staff is excellent and quick, I always ask for Andrea at lunch because she knows what I want for lunch and is very quick and responsive, always has a smile. I am giving this 1 star because of the beans and the coleslaw - now let me explain. We have been going to this Sonny's since it opened - and it has progressively gone down hill. Dirty carpets, half empty salad bar, poor service. Last evening (6:30) we ran in because it was convenient. I ordered a rib and chicken plate, beans, slaw and cornbread. I could not get the meat off the bone as it was so tough, the chicken was incredibly dry and the cornbread so over baked it was as dry as the chicken. My meal was inedible. I asked for a manager who said he would give me a discount - yes, discounted inedible food. He said he would get in trouble if he did anything else. This manager (David) explained that other managers were discounting food and pocketing that money. We sat there in disbelief as to his explanation. Finally I requested to talk to the owner - he at that time removed my charge. I still told him I want to speak to the owner and left my name and number. So I'll give them a couple days to call and then they will hear from me. I want to see this Sonny's do well, and go back to the high standards Sonny Tillman founded his restaurants with. From the moment our call for take-out was answered to the moment we pulled away from their curbside pickup...every single point of contact we had was woefully subpar. Although the food itself was on point, the customer service at this location has totally soured our opinion and will give us pause in the future. I went on Sunday, 9-18-16, about 6 pm for the all you can eat chicken. I have been going to Sonnys since I was a little kid over 30 years ago. I am just really disappointed with this Sonnys as it's totally hit or miss whether you will be served dried out, old chicken or fresh, moist chicken. It costs $13.99 so I just don't understand why old, dry chicken (that is hard to swallow) is served there. My first plate was all dried out and disgusting and I would like to know why the management allows that to happen? I told my waitress about it and the refills were moist and great. She said on a refill that the cooks tried to serve that old, disgusting chicken, but she wouldn't allow it. The managers needs to be the ones on the cooks and make sure customers aren't being served food that should be thrown out. My point is-it shouldn't come to that to get moist, fresh chicken where I have to request it from the waitress. I moved away a few years ago and it was like that then, and obviously like that now. It's never busy when I go there so the management needs to realize there is a problem and needs to be fixed. ******Just wanted to let everyone know I e-mailed the company like "Jessica" said and of course they never email you back. They are just trying to make it appear like they care about customers, when they obviously don't. Love this place! One of our go to places and a favorite. Their food is always awesome and the service good. I normally get the pulled pork and my hubby gets the ribs. Last time we went the ribs were undercooked but they replaced them quickly. My pulled pork was awesome as usual. I like mixing their sweet and their mild sauces together for my perfect flavor. My husband likes their spicy. Their strawberry lemonade is really good. They have garlic bread or corn bread. I always get their cornbread because my grandkids love it. It has corn in it. M-m-m-m! We never leave hungry and usually bring home leftovers. The price is fair. We prefer Sonny's over the other local BBQ joints like Barney's, Brian's and Porky's. I always get a sweet potato and their green beans. We've always been satisfied with the meal and the price, and usually the service every time we have ever gone. It's one of our favorite Sunday after service places to go. Highly recommended! They do have TVs and it can get a little noisy sometimes, which I don't like, but the food is worth it. read more
