the chicken and lamb were kinda dry, but the salads are generous (mostly leaves tho). the pita of the sandwich was kind of not fresh. the potatoes were the best but were soaked in a pool of oil that I wish they drained. the frozen yogurt was unique but I personally think olive oil and sea salt didn't go well with the froyo. After realizing i'm not a fan of the lamb here, I decided to give Souvla another shot because the first time I tried the chicken salad at a different location I loved it... It's just TOO GOOD! Make it Greek style if you want some more carbs+fat to fill you up... can't go wrong. For $17 it's a steal! This particular location isn't nearly as busy as the others so it's our new-go to. Not sure if I ordered on a bad day, but all the savory food we got was super salty, including the salad. The fries were good as expected, and the flavor of everything would've been really good if not for the saltiness. The avgolemono soup was filling and unique, and the baklava frozen greek yogurt was perfect as always. They gave us the yogurt in a coffee cup with lid and spoon, which was very convenient for takeout. I'm not really sure how the octopus in olive oil is meant to be eaten because it was also salty, but after I took it home and ate it with rice it was good. I like how the pork salad had a large variety of veggies and toppings. I'd still try this place again in the future to see if it's better, but for now I'll just stick to the yogurt. read more

My first thought is the interior of this location is gorgeous. People were there just to hang out because there's a bar too! I was really excited because I've heard a lot about Souvla, but I was a bit disappointed with my pork sandwich. The pork was def the highlight, they didn't shy on portions and it was so juicy. But the flavors of the greek yogurt, pickled onion, tomato, etc just weren't jiving. I wish there was more seasoning and freshness. The sandwich was pretty small too, I've paid much less for a bigger sandwich. 3/5: it's healthy, easy, and a nice place to hang out but I wouldn't come back for a meal considering the prices. Happy to see this location near my hood. The new space is spacious with high ceiling and looks very inviting! Went here during the heatwave and it needed some fans. The food is excellent as always. The lamb salad was succulent and was enough to share among 2. We got an order of fries to share and it was enough for a light dinner. The Kennebec fried were crunchy outside and creamy inside. I've seen some really good reviews for Souvla, and so I came to Souvla with a friend for dinner. I can see why Souvla has garnered praise, since the interior is chic and the portion sizes are very filling for SF prices. However, I found that the lamb sandwich was good but nothing special. As for the Greek fries, they were also nothing special, and I found them a bit too oily for my taste. On top of that, Souvla has self-served water which you get from a tap, but on the day I went I thought the water tasted a bit funny (this soiled my experience a little unfortunately). Since I do like Greek food and Souvla is known as one of the better Greek restaurants in SF, I am planning to come back with the intention of ordering a salad bowl while bringing my own water bottle. Stopped by just to get the frozen Greek yogurt. My friend wanted me to try the best frozen yogurt (in her opinion). She ordered olive oil and sea salt for both of us. I thought, "Olive oil and sea salt? Will that fit with the sweet yogurt base?" I was pleasantly surprised that everything mill together really well. First of all, the yogurt wasn't sweet. It's tart. Somehow the olive oil and the sea salt mellow the tartness, perfect after a day of doing an urban hike around Bernal Heights. The servers were very nice. I was skeptical at first since I'm use to the gyro style lamb meat. The server mentioned the lamb was cubed. I was prepared for a "gamey" taste, but the lamb was extremely tasty! It paired well with the salad that include kale, onions, feta, and a Greek style dressing. All in all, very surprised with the dish and will definitely come back. The food has been consistent (Mission and NoPa are better), however, the service at this location has been disappointing compared to other Souvlas I've been to. I've visited this location several times and each time, I've encountered some sort of issue. For example, today they forget salad dressing in my to go order, and by the time I realized, it was too late to do anything about it since I was already home. Every salad should come with dressing as default and I don't understand how they forgot to include it. On another occasion, I pre-ordered soft serve and was asked to pick it up later, but when I picked it up 1.5 hours later, I was met with resistance and told they would only allow it this one time since it was too late. I had an awesome time at Souvla for a nice weekend lunch today! We got the chicken salad, fries, and (of course) the baklava yogurt. Chicken salad was fresh and delicious, with a nice light sauce, and the juiciest and most flavorful chicken I've had in a salad. They really do not skimp out on chicken, and it definitely made the meal feel worth the price! Fries were thick cut and crispy, and eating fries as a side to a salad is always a guilt free and fun pairing. Yogurt was also so good! The yogurt is tart on it's on it's own, so the balance with the sweet baklava was really nice. I've heard good things about the cherry one too, but generally that is more for palates that enjoy tart and sour tastes. Will definitely be back! read more

So happy Souvla is now in this part of town! I've been a huge fan of their salads and Greek yogurt for years. When it comes to parking, this location is definitely the most accessible. It's also the largest of them all and they have a full bar, as well as small dishes (mezes) that the other locations don't have. As a new San Franciscan, this was our first visit to a Souvla and it didn't disappoint! We have been eyeing this spot while it has been under construction and were very excited to visit for its grand opening this week! This Souvla took over a former brewery and has ample space for seating and noshing with friends. Unlike other Souvlas, this location has an unique mezze menu with cold and warm dishes. We tried the three spreads, plant based "lamb" meatballs, fries, spanokopita, pork salad, lamb pita and baclava frozen green yogurt. The highlights- beautiful & friendly ambiance, many vegan options for our dinner mate, the baclava frozen greek yogurt, spreads, pork salad, The complaints- the lamb in my pita was a little on the dry side, smallish portions for some of the mezze dishes. Also call me basic but I really wished that 2 of the spreads could have been hummus and baba ganoush as only one of the spread was vegan so my friend couldn't enjoy it much.
