Side dishes were very neat and tasty. I only tried soon-tofu but I've had better so I won't be back for soon-tofu. It was a bit salty but I liked how it wasn't one of those commercial taste. More home style taste. If you are expecting BCD type, it definitely isn't the place. And no stone pot rice. It was a bit disappointing. Overall descent food and nice service. Came here today after here positive reviews and that it's Yelp OC's number recommended restaurant. Really enjoyed it! I got the tripe soondubu medium spicy(honestly think I should've just gone for the spicy but it was still a good amount of heat!). Honestly I thought the soondubu was good(solid broth and meat to tofu ratio) but personally it wasn't outstanding. What was outstanding though was the banchan ahha they had one with potatoes julienned with a creamy sweet sauce and this one with nuts and honey which was really delicious! I got refills for both of those. Service was really kind and they played slower music which I feel like is more unique since most Korean restaurants play kpop. Soy Tofu is my favorite restaurant. I come here with my wife and daughter whenever I feel happy, sad, bored, angry, tired, jealous, sick, healthy, strong, energetic, calm, mindful, afraid, or even when I am hungry. The food is nothing short of spectacular because it just hits so many different levels of flavor. When you eat here, it is like you are eating in someone's home and they spent the entire day poring over each minute detail of the meal. There has never been anything that I have had here that was not excellent but I do have a couple of favorites: I generally get the kimchi pork tofu soup at spicy level combo with the shortribs of course. I have never left here with anything short of complete and total satisfaction. Beyond the dazzling food, the service here is unlike any other restaurant. This is a family business and it is operated like a family business. The owner will greet you, seat you, take your order, and ensure that your needs are met. She is one of the kindest, most caring, and truly special people that you currently have the opportunity to meet so I suggest that you do. Soy Tofu is a gem. I hate saying it because I like it that I can sometimes go there without a huge wait. The food here is worth waiting for, but you may not have to if you time it right. Came in craving Korean tofu soup aka Soondubu Jigae and left full and satisfied with both great food and service. This place is located in an unassuming plaza right next to a Korean market and is a mom and pop/hole in the wall type place. When I walked in, I was greeted by a few employees and went to the table they directed me to. Right away they brought a menu, placemat, and water. After a few minutes a girl took my order and brought out the banchan and rice. On the day I went, the banchan included kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled radish, broccoli, and peanuts in a sweet soy sauce. I really enjoyed the kimchi because it had a stronger fish sauce flavor and had a bit of underlying heat compared to others. I was hoping it was sold somewhere but learned that one of the owners makes the kimchi. The peanuts in a sweet soy glaze actually surprised me. I'm assuming the peanuts were boiled or cooked in a way to soften them because they weren't crunchy. The thick sweet soy sauce was somewhat addicting and a pleasure to eat. The tofu soup came out ferociously bubbling and I cracked the egg in right away. I ordered it spicy but to me it wasn't bad. I would get extra spicy next time for sure. It was a very good portion and I even had enough to take home. There were tons of clams that actually tasted pretty good. Not shriveled up tasteless chewing gum but instead plump clams in their shells as well as mixed in the soup. I ordered the combo so it also came with a sizzling plate of galbi short ribs that were delicious. Classic taste and was super fresh. The meat was tender and not super chewy or hard to eat like most places. The marinade they use is also not too sweet and a good balance of savory and sweet. The server that took my order was sweet and I could tell she was new to the job based on context clues I could hear. Despite being new, she still provided great service and she was also lowkey cute hahaha I might have to go back just to shoot my shot next time jkjk I've had BCD and Kaju Tofu House and this place easily beats them especially with service. It doesn't seem like they get super busy like the more popular places but I'd rather come here and be treated well because the food is just as good if not better. read more

2nd time we are here today. We were the only customers around 1:45. So quiet and slow.... I ordered one of korean popular dishes, Kimchi fried rice combine Bulgogi and my hubby got the same beef tofu. To be honest, way too spicy, too much red peppers for kimchi fried rice. Too much red color, not like typical korean kimchi fried rice. I didn't like this kimchi fried rice. Well, my hubby liked his beef tofu but they don't serve hot, fresh rice pot like other Tofu restaurants. Dissapointed!!! read more

VEGAN REVIEW! Stopped by here incidentally when I was in the search of a Korean market! This place did not disappoint The restaurant owner was so sweet and she was so informed on what options are vegan! I opted for the mushroom soondubu. When the banchan was brought out, she explained to me all the ingredients and dishes. The kimchi was made with just salt, etc. The banchan was delicious and unique; I haven't found a Korean restaurant that can accommodate me like this. The soft tofu soup didn't have as much tofu and toppings like other Korean restaurants, but it was sooo delicious. As a whole; I felt so much more fulfilled and full. I saw the owner also doing job training and how she did so was definitely a great presentation of character. Definitely coming back to eat here! read more

I live near Soy Tofu and had always been interested in trying this restaurant. I drive by this shopping center daily, and I would see a cardboard standee of my favorite Kpop singer IU displayed outside Soy Tofu's restaurant. In addition, the photos of some of their dishes that are displayed on their windows have always piqued my curiousity as I've wanted to try more authentic Korean cuisine. I took my cousin with me to Soy Tofu for the first time last night. The restaurant is very clean and has a very nice comforting, elegant styled setting with wall lamps and classic ceiling chandeliers. It has a very welcoming home-style feeling with great hardwood flooring and wood furniture. It was very cozy inside. We ordered the House Specialty of Steamed Dumplings for appetizers, and I ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with Bulgogi, while my cousin ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with Grilled Chicken. All of the food tasted great. The side dishes were fresh. The portions were generous. My bulgogi was very tasty! The servers were very attentive and very friendly. I plan on coming back as I'm interested in trying their pork cutlets. I was able to meet the owner Grace as we were leaving. She is very sweet and welcoming. On our way out, I had talked to her about the IU standee outside and asked where could I buy one like that. Grace was so gracious and let me take home the IU standee! I was on cloud 9! The food was great but Grace's generosity also put the cherry on top. I have the IU standee being proudly displayed in my home gym, as a reminder that I will regularly support Soy Tofu and try as many of their dishes as I can. I can't wait to come back! The portion size is quite large for the price, and the assortment of side dishes was super yum, and the candied peanuts were a unique touch. Order: to start, we both got the yummy side dishes, which have kimchi, fish cakes, broccoli, bean sprouts, and candied peanuts. I got the beef bibimbap, which came with purple rice, which is my favoriteeee. The quality of this dish was excellent, and she mixed it right in front of me. Delicious food! I have been going to Soy Tofu for the past few years. I usually get kimchi beef extra spicy tofu soup with purple rice. They are so generous with their banchans when you dine in so I do miss that. Kimchi is delicious and spicy so I always get refills. I have ordered from soy tofu multiple times during the lock down and it never disappoints (except for the limited banchans and not send kimchi... so sad). I usually stick to my regular order for tofu soup but today I got kimchi fried rice and bulgogi. It was delicious as always. The rice was buttery, good amount of kimchi, and I love the amount of crunchy raw onions included with the bulgogi. It's a lot of food for the price. Not spicy for those who can't tolerate. The other food featured in the picture is my dad's go to, seafood tofu soup no spice with purple rice. Again, it's too much for him to finish so he shares with mom. Highly recommend this place! I've actually had Soy Tofu bookmarked for a while, and given that I've been working from home these days, I've had more time to finally hit up all the food joints I've been wanting to (for takeout anyways). Service was incredibly friendly. The owner, who turned out to be the same woman who took my order when I called for take out, was really nice. She engaged in conversation with me when I walked in and when my food was ready, she thanked me for supporting them during this time and told me to stay healthy and safe. I really appreciate when people show kindness like that, especially during these trying times with the state of emergency and shelter in place orders. The kimchi pancake I ordered ($16.31 with tax) was ginormous! It's a little folded in on itself in my photo, but it really was huge, and came in an extra-large takeout box. It also came with a little container of chilli oil to dip in. Taste-wise the kimchi pancake was pretty good, though I prefer my kimchi pancakes a little crisper than this one was. And I really appreciated how the cook vented the takeout box lid to prevent the kimchi pancake from getting soggy on the journey home. That level of attention to detail further highlights the amazing service I received here at Soy Tofu. UPDATE: I ordered takeout again, this time getting veggie dumpling soon tofu, and it was really good! They gave me the soup in the perfect-sized soup container and some banchan/ korean side dishes in a cute little to-go container where each side was separated from the others. They really are prepared for takeout orders here, so if anyone is craving good Korean comfort food, I highly recommend Soy Tofu! read more

We usually go to Cho Dang for a quick fix. But for the past year their tofu soup has been not so good. A friend of my mom introduced it to us and we really liked it! We always order the seafood tofu soup and Kalbi. Everything is tasty and very consistent. We always order here like 2-3 times a month for to go. We did dine here one time.. All the sides are good and fresh. Fish cake is bomb but so spicy just be careful lol only thing is we asked for ice multiple times and the server took our cups and refilled it which is not hygienic. So that was just weird. But food wise.. I recommend this spot! read more

Very annoying we drove 45 minutes just to eat here and we called ahead and they said they would close 3-4. We get there at 1:45 and came in and said we will wait for our other family members to join and said we will be back, and then at 2:05 they put up the sign and refused to serve us and said to come back at 3.
