Finally we have Starbread in Vegas!!! I ordered there yummy hot addicting senorita bread. Heads up if planning to do a pick up - they will ask you to pre-pay over the phone. I tried there Pimiento Loaf, Cream Cheese Senorita, Churro Mochi, Strawberry Sugar and Passion Fruit it was yummy! Prefer the Cream Cheese Senorita Hot though cause it was bagged. The pandesal was better than I expected. Malasadas I only tried Guava which is good. The lady said their best sellers are Bavarian Custard and Ube. Service was great! The lady even said they have a Happy Hour everyday from 5pm-6pm everything inside the display is $1 each and inside the hot warmer is $2 each. That's an awesome deal if you live/work in the area. Place was clean, ton of parking as well. Wanted to add: when i came in this day they didn't had any Ube Halaya and Cassava i see in some photos here. I always enjoy coming here to pick up some goodies before I head home. I have to admit, the smaller boxes travel much better than the large boxes although I tend to love to take more home than what seems "necessary." I only have the señorita bread, usually. I think I have had one malasada from here. It was very tasty and fresh. There hasn't been anything I didn't like from the bakery. The staff here have always been so sweet and pleasant. I have been here a few times now and each time I think I've spent at least $40 on goodies to take home and another $10 or so on things I plan on gobbling down while I'm still in town, or plan to share on the drive to the airport. LOL. I also like that there is always parking when I come here. The lot is huge as it is shared by a number of other businesses. I don't know what to tell you except that the señorita bread here is the way that it should be. They are sorta these oblong, toasty, warm, soft, buttery, slightly sweet almost finger length bread rolls. Each "order" is 5 pieces. If you order 15 pieces or more the bakery will box them up real nicely for you. I know these do NOT compare to Porto's famous cheese rolls but think about it. Would you just bring 5 of 'em to a party of even 2-3 people? NOPE! So, when you have a family of 4-5 that you're bringing señorita bread home to, you have to get at least 40! Yeah, I mean it. I guarantee that they will just up and somehow disappear, especially if you get home and warm them up so the sugary sweetness is "reactivated" as I like to say. This is such a treat to have, especially because I have not been in the Bay Area in quite some time to enjoy these treats. Give this spot a try. What's señorita bread you ask? Well, like others have mentioned in their reviews, señorita bread are little pieces of fluffy, soft goodness in about 3 bites. They are served warm, with a buttery middle and a sweet glaze on the bottom. My kids and I can devour about 8-10 of them JUST on the way home. I've been here quite a few times already and every employee I've met is really nice and friendly. They also make other pastries like malasadas, donuts, ensymada and more. Minimum for debit/credit card use is now $10. So bring cash or prepare to order 15 pieces of señorita bread. That's what I did. Do I regret it, absolutely not!!!! SO ADDICTING. Starbread bakery has the BEST senorita bread. Their bread is so light with just the perfect amount of sweetness to it. It's soooo good and dangerously addicting. The best part is that they make the senorita bread fresh to order every day. You simply tell them how many you want and it comes out piping hot from the oven. They do have other baked items like malasadas, cupcakes, mochi donuts, and even meat pies. We did try them in the past; and truthfully, they were just ok. Starbread Bakery comes from the Bay Area and is supposedly the "Home of the Señorita Bread" Well, I decided to put them to the test, and we arrived at about Noon to an empty store with no one at the front, so I perused the case for about 20-30 seconds until a gentleman finally pops out to greet me with a bewildered look. Don't know if he dozed off in the back, but it was kinda odd. Looks can be deceiving, so Mrs.Q advised that we get the smallest order and get more if they're legit. I ordered the 5 piece for $3 (I would've had 9 pieces if we were at Nanding's) So he signals an order to a girl in the back, and about a minute later, I'm out the door with my order. Got in the car, and I didn't have a sure feeling about it already, as I pulled out the first piece, it was room temperature to barely even warm. I took a bite and wasn't impressed. Took another bite and was done by this time, and pretty disappointed knowing that this is what they're known for. I didn't even finish ONE PIECE. Mrs.Q took a bite and spit it out into her napkin. Wow! What a great first impression. I entered this quiet bakery on a Friday morning. I have been wanting to sample their infamous senorita bread. I was at this location. Purchased the following items. 1. Plain donut 2. Uve donut 3. 2- Hazelnut senorita Bread 4. 2- walnut brownies 5. 25 piece Senorita bread. The guy at the front is not capable of being alone at the front helping guests. I had to let him know I was missing items plus he gave me a guava donut instead of plain donut. I am allergic to guava. I called the store to let them know what had occurred and that I was on my way to the hospital. The store manager told me she can give me free bread and a refund but cannot cover hospital bills and that the owner would also agree. She also chucked it up that the guy was new. I told her that he shouldnt be left unattended especially if he's new, informed her that I wasn't calling cause I want free items or a hospital bill paid. I told her something like this should have never occurred and that I will never be coming to this location ever again. Having a horrible allergic reaction and all they think about is free bread and not trying to pay a hospital bill is diabolical! I told the manager I was calling to let them know of the situation so the next person or child wouldn't have to go through what I did and if I wanted any hospital bills paid they would be hearing for my lawyer not me! Came her around 7:30am on a Thursday morning. I love fresh bread with some coffee in the morning. I decided to bring my coworkers some fresh starbread. The shop itself is fairly small. Located in a plaza and at first was a little tricky to find but I can blame that on my gps. There is a green giant sign with their name and logo on it so after looking a little harder it's not hard to miss. When I walked in there was only one associate up front taking orders and getting them ready. After she took two orders she disappeared for about 10 minutes and came back with their order. Then took mine and another customers. The time it took from me ordering 12 pieces of starbread to actually receiving my order was well over 20 minutes. I do think there needs to be more help up front to get things moving especially cause there was plenty of people coming in to order. As far as the bread, it was very moist and warm. The delicate taste of butter and sugar was combined almost perfectly. The bread was very soft as well and a perfect size for a treat in the morning. I'd say it's about the size of my hand and for the prices they are selling them for is unbeatable. I'd definitely give this place a try if you are around the area! read more

I've never had senorita bread before and I wanted to give it a try so we stopped by today when we were in the area. Small shop but very clean. They don't have the senorita bread out because they get it for you fresh when you order it. There are other pastries out in the case if you want other sweets while you are there. My husband and I decided on: 10 piece senorita bread ($6.00): This comes out fresh and warm. If you get 15 pieces or more, it will come in a box but otherwise, it comes in a bag. This was an absolute delight! The bread was so soft and it was sweet too. It actually reminded me of a Chinese pastry. There might be a sweet glaze in the middle and there is definitely a sweet glaze on the bottom. I originally was going to get 5 pieces but the cashier recommended for us to get more and I'm glad we took her advice! We ate 4 in the car on the way home! Cookie brownie ($2.00): This is essentially a cookie inside a brownie. We opted for the red velvet cookie. This was decent but I can't say that it was something to write home about. Ube tart ($1.25): A tad on the sweeter side of things but there are pieces of ube in the tart! It is great flavor wise. Guava malasada ($2.00): The guava filling has great flavor and very fruit forward but it's very jam-like. The bread itself wasn't as soft as I would have liked but decent overall. Pandan square ($1.50): Aside from the senorita bread, the pandan square is another favorite. The sweetness is light and the texture reminded me of sponge bread. This was pretty delicious. Went for the first time. Location is easy to find just off the freeway. I went late in the afternoon around 3pm and thought they'd be out of the seniorita (sp) bread. But to my surprise they had. It was warm and fresh in the box and service was fast and friendly. The most delicious bread I've ever had in a long time. I'm always a bit suspect of "popular" spots from out of state which open up a location here as they usually have their particular fanbase who have grown up with them and are quite loyal. I assumed Starbread Bakery would be the same, mainly because they specialize particularly in Filipino/Spanish desserts, mainly the senorita bread which is a sweet dough which is rolled in butter and sugar and sometimes stuffed with a sweet filling, such as ube or a chocolate hazelnut spread. My assumptions, not wholly recognized, were semi-spot on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Starbread Bakery or their products, I just think everything is just ok. Having never been there and not being very well-versed in Filipino sweets, I decided to try a few items. I got both the ube and hazelnut filled senorita breads, the egg custard tarts, and some ube squares. I am a big fan of both ube and egg tarts and upon trying these, I definitely enjoyed them but they did not wow me. The starbreads were very slightly sweet, literally just sweet enough to be considered a dessert. If you have a big sweet tooth and are expecting something cloyingly sweet, these aren't the items for you. The egg custard tarts were sweeter but again, not too much. They are very thin though which are very different than the ones I had in Portugal where they originate from. The flavor was there but the lack of filling made them chewy which isn't a bad thing, just didn't seem very traditional. I am glad I tried Starbread Bakery, but for me, I can't really see myself going back unless I happened to be in the area and was craving a quick, sweet bite. read more

Stumbled on this bakery by accident and decided to go in and check it out! It's nice, spacious, and clean! Noticed a sign that said .... Happy Hour 5-6 pm everything is $1 !!!!! My ASIAN blood got so excited!!!! Decided to try a few items! The mochi donuts (passion fruit... aka LILIKOI and the coffee) were yummy! They also sell señorita rolls (Spanish rolls) but they are made to order and wasn't on sale! So pro tip..... go at 5pm and enjoy some goodies!!! We really loved the star bread, never had anything like it before and the texture and sweetness are on point. Definitely can eat a few each sitting. The mango cake/muffin was great as well. As for the classic donuts I didn't love the texture, they were a little heavy and dry. Frosting was just ok and didn't have much Ube flavor, the strawberry one was the best.
