The noodles are really good. Has a nice bite to it, not overcooked and the soy sauce was done right. salty with a tinge of sweetness. We ordered the pork liver and the liver was so overcooked it was like a cardboard. So is it bad? No. The rice noodle is great. The liver was bad. We ordered the Pig tripe chicken soup with rice noodle. Soup is good. Chicken is free range chicken so its more chewy than normal chicken. There isnt any flavor on the chicken because it all went to the soup that probably took hours to cook. the noodle was fantastic though. So is it bad? No. elements of it is good. Is it bad? No. Elements of it is bad. Wonton - this is contrversial. My mom hated it. It has no shrimp. Its the first wonton i had with no shrimp. But it has salted egg yolk. Is the flavor there? Its mild. I kind of like it, i kind of dont. So its another hard to put my finger down. They have a lot of dishes to try, we will give those one more try and see maybe they are better at dinner items. One of my absolute favorite comfort foods is rice rolls, especially when they're done right. The skin has to be super thin, just translucent enough that you can see it being scraped from the pan, light and airy with the perfect bite. Sunrise Noodle House does exactly that, and does it well! I first discovered them through a series of social media videos and knew I had to check them out in person. I'm a sucker for good Cantonese comfort food, and since this wasn't too far, I dragged a local friend to come with me. The moment I walked in, I was hit with the most nostalgic scent. It's something I can't quite describe, but anyone who's ever spent time in a cafe in China or Hong Kong might recognize it. A mix of warmth, seasoning, and that signature aroma of Cantonese cooking that instantly transports you. Their menu has a solid range of rice noodles, noodles, rice dishes, and soup. They have a good selection of rice noodle toppings, so we got the shrimp with egg, which was delicious. I'll have two next time! The spare ribs over rice were flavorful (though I wish there was a bit more meat-to-rice ratio), and it came with a side of steamed lettuce and sauce. This dish was mid. Great low cal and cheap eats! This Cantonese restaurant is different from most others - they offer simple and non-greasy dishes! A great variety of rice noodles and small tapas - great for sharing with friends and family. Some of the dishes might be in the "acquired taste " category- like cow stomachs, salted egg yolks, etc. But dishes like rice noodle with shrimp are pretty common and "safe" for people not familiar with their cuisine. Service is good - fast and efficient! Prices are great, though portion sizes are a bit small. I'd say most of them are tapas and not a full meal by themselves. A group of 7 friends had a long brunch here and it came out to be $18 each, including taxes and tips. In today's price range, I'd say this is definitely a great value type of place! Sunrise Noodle House...they are a Chinese place. No more Vietnamese food. I was intrigued after seeing a video about them and their offerings. I took my picky Canto mom here. Service was okay. We ordered a salted egg wonton, a black truffle with egg rice noodle roll, and a century egg and pork congee. The salted egg wontons? My mom kept asking "where's the salted egg?" I thought it was in the soup. Mother and my wife couldn't detect it in the wontons. Mother complained that it was all meat, nothing else. The black truffle with egg rice noodle roll was a dish that mother liked. She was curious to try truffle. The waitress explained to us that the truffle was all the black dots. My wife was not impressed impressed with their rice noodle rolls as they are the thinner ones, and prefers the thicker ones from dimsum restaurant. At least my mom liked it. Tiktok brought me here and I can't say I'd recommend this place. My mom and I ordered the following items: 1. Salty fish ground pork and salty egg steamed rice dish. I came here for breakfast for their rice rolls and it was delicious. Their rice rolls are fresh and soft and the soy sauce that comes with it is so good. The service is super quick and the food came out fast. They remodeled the restaurant from the last owner and it definitely betters the ambiance. Place looks new and clean. They are not the same Sunrise Noodle House anymore. Menu changed from the previous one, no hainan chicken and no pho. I originally came for the combo set that was advertised, but there was no indication that it wasn't available on weekends. The server told me it was not available when I ordered. After we ordered the beef brisket noodles, she then later come back to say it ran out and told us we have to order another item. We went at 1 pm and it seems they don't have ingredients prepared and ready. I want start off with pointing out the last person's review that this place doesn't serve Vietnamese dishes anymore due to new ownership. Now here is my review: I ordered the beef noodle rolls, salted egg (pork was the meat but it didn't say on the menu) wontons, salted chicken baked rice, and popcorn chicken. The beef noodle rolls were nothing special. In fact, they used minced beef, which I didn't love. I ordered the wontons, because I've never seen wontons with salted egg in it, and they were good. The soup was nice and not oily. Then the salty chicken on rice arrived after waiting quite a while. I was super shocked to see what I was presented with. It was literally rice with scattered bony pieces of chicken....You can see from the pictures that they pretty much took small chicken wings and cut it in three or four pieces. There were maybe three other super bony pieces of the chicken with barely any meat on it. I asked the server who spoke the most English there, why it looked nothing like the picture, and why there was barely any meat. She explained that they cook a whole chicken, and the cook just gives you whatever pieces he chooses to put on the dish, so you won't get exactly what the picture shows. I asked her, "So some people get lucky and get meat, and other people like me are unlucky and get bones?" She responded three more times with the same response that you get what you get, since they cook the chicken whole. I showed her how the chicken pieces were literally bone and skin, and she still said the same thing, and didn't offer to take it back. She said that maybe next time I can specify when ordering that I prefer chicken pieces with more meat on it. I'm legitimately confused why they would serve rice with practically chicken bones for $12.99. Just look at the pictures.... It also came with a side of soggy iceberg lettuce covered in the same sauce that came with the noodle rolls. Not great at all. I don't remember the last time I felt so upset dining somewhere. I ended up having to order the popcorn chicken so I had a protein to eat with the rice. The popcorn chicken was actually quite good and crispy, thankfully. I like that the restaurant has a combination of pho, wonton noodles, Hainan chicken rice, and a mix of Cantonese/Vietnamese/Chiu Chow dishes, so I came here with my family for brunch. We ended up sharing a wonton noodle soup, combo pho which contained various cuts of beef, turnip cake with egg, and Hainan chicken rice. The food came fairly quickly. We also had complimentary cold barley tea. The pho was solid, comparable to other pho in the area. I loved the wonton noodles. It wasn't spicy enough, a tad too salty for me, lacked lemongrass, and the ligaments in the sliced beef as well as the pig feet was not tender. Noodles was still edible. 3/5 stars Combination flat rice noodles ($14): came with 2 shrimps, couple of fish balls, fish cake, and shredded chicken. This is the best flat rice noodle soup I've had in a long time! The soup was savory and not too rich. The toppings and the soup meshed well together. 4.5/5 stars Service was quick and friendly. Interior was spacious and clean. Free parking in the back. This is completely not the restaurants fault, but a customer at the restaurant had their car broken into while parked in the lot. My very good friend told me about Sunrise Noodle House that had opened fairly recently and wanted to take me there for lunch. What a great call on his part! You can tell a lot about a restaurant by how clean the bathrooms are. You could eat inside these bathrooms because they are just that clean! We each ordered a different noodle dish so we could share a bite of each other's lunch! The broth was flavorful, crisp, and fresh! I could drink the broth in a teacup and be happy all day long. The chicken was delicious, perfectly cooked, and moist. I enjoyed how friendly the staff treated us. He mentioned that I should order the chicken dishes but I wanted to try the pho. The pho itself is like all other phos except the beef. It was easily taken off the bill, but not sure what the confusion was. FOOD: I ordered all the meats for pho ($12.95) & 1 Hainan Chicken ($13). The Hainan chicken came with everything you see in the menu picture. But let me tell you, the portion size is SMALL, definitely less meat than the other Hainan chicken restaurants but it was still pretty good. Coming from a Viet girl who grew up spoiled with mom's homemade pho, this places pho is BOMB. The broth is delicious, portions are generous, and for $12.95 to get a Phở Đặc Biệt with all the meats? We walked in and no one was at the front to seat us for minutes. I went to call the aunty in the kitchen to get our menus and table. I love the texture of the chicken meat in their chicken pho. Usually, white chicken meat tastes pretty tasteless and dry. But the texture of their white chicken meat is surprisingly juicy and still has some good taste. However, their chicken soup seemed to have too much fish sauce, making it salty and overshadowing the chicken taste. The soup needs more chicken taste to it. Noodles are the standard noodles you get in any SGV Asian restaurant and are al dente. Here's the good news: if you are craving pan-fried turnip cake, a Southern Chinese omelet with rick sticks/cakes, they are among the few places in Greater LA serving that dish. Unfortunately, the turnip cake didn't turn out the way I would like. All the key ingredients in the dish didn't quite come together. I grew up eating that dish, so my standards are relatively high. It's a great local spot for noodle soup. Really friendly family-run business. As expected from a brand new spot, everything was super clean, including the bathrooms. Just a comfortable spot for comfort food. Parking in the back lot is available but had no problem with street parking out front too. Overall I'd say it's a good spot to get your noodle fix if you live in the area. I tried the chicken pho, while my friend had the bun bo hue. Overall pretty solid, and I think the broth is flavorful even for a clearer one with chicken soup. The one downside is that I wished there was an option to get the chicken boneless because the chicken wasn't cut for easy eating, as some pieces were still attached as a really large piece and had to use my hands at some point. But still was satisfied and the portion was more than enough. Comes with a savory and sour dipping sauce. Vietnamese coffee met expectations and wasn't too strong either. They did add plenty of ice to it. For grand opening mode, it seems they gave out a free small dish of tapioca dessert, and it was pretty tasty with a hint of what I believe was probably lychee with a dash of coconut within cooked mung bean. Terrible food, terrible service. We ordered beef rice roll, black bean pork rib steamed rice and Salk egg yolk wonton. They were all terrible . The black bean pork rib was dry and not delicious. The wonton soup is not even tasty. The beef rice roll was substandard There were only two or three tables but the waitresses were busy talking and doing something else. I had to yell for the check.
