One of my absolute favorite comfort foods is rice rolls, especially when they're done right. The skin has to be super thin, just translucent enough that you can see it being scraped from the pan, light and airy with the perfect bite. Sunrise Noodle House does exactly that, and does it well! I first discovered them through a series of social media videos and knew I had to check them out in person. I'm a sucker for good Cantonese comfort food, and since this wasn't too far, I dragged a local friend to come with me. The moment I walked in, I was hit with the most nostalgic scent. It's something I can't quite describe, but anyone who's ever spent time in a cafe in China or Hong Kong might recognize it. A mix of warmth, seasoning, and that signature aroma of Cantonese cooking that instantly transports you. Their menu has a solid range of rice noodles, noodles, rice dishes, and soup. They have a good selection of rice noodle toppings, so we got the shrimp with egg, which was delicious. I'll have two next time! The spare ribs over rice were flavorful (though I wish there was a bit more meat-to-rice ratio), and it came with a side of steamed lettuce and sauce. This dish was mid. We both loved the clay pot rice noodle. You can choose up to three toppings, so we went with sausage, fish cake, and salted chicken. The broth was so flavorful and comforting that we kept asking for refills and they were so nice to give it to us.

It was a cool breakfast spot, that serves pretty good rice rolls! Parents wanted to check it out and i thought it did the job. Nothing was really off, except for the clay pot rice. It was service in a tin tray, which imo was a little odd and disappointing. The milk tea was good and the servers were pretty tentative. Parking is found on the back of the restaurant and the street.

Not really sure to make of this place. Different type of Chinese food I suppose. Service was friendly but doubtful I'll be coming back Ordered: - Shrimp rice noodle roll 2/5. Not tasty and small shrimp - Clay pot rice noodle 3/5. Not sure what makes it any different than regular noodle besides being in clay pot. Soup flavor was good but noodles had odd texture - steamed rice noodle with brisket 4/5. Good flavor soup, tender beef. Big bowl

Chinese "beignet" (my description) - very tasty

Great low cal and cheap eats! This Cantonese restaurant is different from most others - they offer simple and non-greasy dishes! A great variety of rice noodles and small tapas - great for sharing with friends and family. Some of the dishes might be in the "acquired taste " category- like cow stomachs, salted egg yolks, etc. But dishes like rice noodle with shrimp are pretty common and "safe" for people not familiar with their cuisine. Service is good - fast and efficient! Prices are great, though portion sizes are a bit small. I'd say most of them are tapas and not a full meal by themselves. A group of 7 friends had a long brunch here and it came out to be $18 each, including taxes and tips. In today's price range, I'd say this is definitely a great value type of place! Parking is easy as they have their own lot in the back - just be sure to not miss the entrance on the side. Street parking (free) is also possible.

Sunrise Noodle House...they are a Chinese place. No more Vietnamese food. I was intrigued after seeing a video about them and their offerings. I took my picky Canto mom here. Service was okay. We ordered a salted egg wonton, a black truffle with egg rice noodle roll, and a century egg and pork congee. The salted egg wontons? My mom kept asking "where's the salted egg?" I thought it was in the soup. Mother and my wife couldn't detect it in the wontons. Mother complained that it was all meat, nothing else. The black truffle with egg rice noodle roll was a dish that mother liked. She was curious to try truffle. The waitress explained to us that the truffle was all the black dots. My wife was not impressed impressed with their rice noodle rolls as they are the thinner ones, and prefers the thicker ones from dimsum restaurant. At least my mom liked it. The congee came in a clay pot. It looked impressive. The congee was probably my favorite of the meal as it was full of preserved eggs and pork. They are an okay place. 3 1/2 stars.

This place is under new ownership and no longer serves phở/vietnamese food, but is now cantonese focused! Love the dishes they have here as they're unique and tasty. The folks have found them because we waited for 45 minutes for lunch on a weekday! *Shrimp Rice Rolls: They make their rice rolls fresh - which puts dimsum place to SHAME. The texture is quite different when it's incredibly fresh like this! *Stir Fried Beef Ho Fun: I also now only want my ho fun to be made with chinese sausage. Sooo flavorful! *Cantonese Clay Pot Rice Noodles. Super unique as I usually only have cantonese clay pot rice. I don't even usually like vermicelli-ish noodles but the rice noodles were bomb - thin and squiggly. The flavor of the broth was great and you get to select 3 proteins (salted chicken, chinese sausage, cured pork, fish cake, salted pork bones, or fresh shrimp). *The only thing I didn't really care for was the Spare Ribs with Black Bean Sauce Steamed Rice - it was fine but everything else was just so good! *If you're a spice lover - try their Lao Guang's Secret Chilli Sauce! It's by one of the columns, to be used communal. Be warned, it's very garlicky but delicious! FYI they have some insanely good value afternoon details from 2-5pm like: steamed rice noodles, rice rolls AND beverage for $11.99 or steamed rice with cured meat + blanched lettuce + beverage for $12.99 or Congee + You Tiao + 1 Beverage for $10.99

Tiktok brought me here and I can't say I'd recommend this place. My mom and I ordered the following items: 1. Salty fish ground pork and salty egg steamed rice dish. It came with a side of blanched lettuce in soy sauce. 2. Beef brisket rice roll 3. Cured meat cauliflower stir fry Drinks: 1. Lemon iced tea 2. Hot milk tea The only mediocre items were the lemon iced tea and the steamed rice dish. Everything else was bland and appears to be microwaved? The milk tea was powdery and just God awful. The service was okay... nobody came to check on us and my lemon iced tea has been sitting on the table, empty, without a single refill. There were only 4 tables of customers and they sat us all at the windows. Maybe it's a scheme to make it appear as if they're busy but really they're not. We weren't trying to eavesdrop but the table sitting behind me complained that the food was not good and seems like it was reheated with a microwave. I am not recommending this place, so try at your own risk!

I came here for breakfast for their rice rolls and it was delicious. Their rice rolls are fresh and soft and the soy sauce that comes with it is so good. The service is super quick and the food came out fast. They remodeled the restaurant from the last owner and it definitely betters the ambiance. Place looks new and clean. I also got the popcorn chicken but the portion was too small in my opinion. Parking is a bit difficult but plenty of street parking.

food here comes with extra protein

Visited during lunch for the first time today. The Basil Beef was delicious. We ordered some veggies served in a broth, with a bit of meat strewn around. Delicious, as well. Halfway through the meal I see a clump of hair floating in my bowl. I look closer and start to pray that it is just hair. My prayers go unanswered as God has forsaken me -- retribution, perhaps, for the distasteful, yet hilarious tweets I used to post. My iPhone camera confirms what my astigmatism could not -- it was a god damn spider. Like Jesus Christ, I will not be returning.

My family and I first came to Sunrise Noodle House when it was in its grand opening period; there was no service, and many of the foods we ordered were unavailable; it was not a great experience. When my family suggested we try this restaurant tonight, I was hesitant. We got the Cantonese ginger chicken clay, Conch slice pig bone soup, pig belly pickled cabbage, Beef with scrambled egg, Chicken PK Tripe with Lai Fun, Shrimp Rice Roll, Pork Rice Roll, and Steamed whole tilapia (the steamed fish is complimentary if you spend $50). All of the food we ordered arrived quickly; however, please keep in mind that all the dishes don't come with rice. You need to order the rice separately. Every dish we order is incredibly tasty and savory. The steamed whole tilapia tasted really fresh, and with the sauce, we really enjoyed the fish. Overall, we had a great time at this restaurant tonight and were really satisfied with everything we ordered. Definitely will come back more often to take advantage of this Steamed whole tilapia offer.

Came here for a quick dinner as I was nearby. It's a small place that you will quickly drive by if you didn't know it was there. That said, it wasn't packed nor was it empty when I was there, so it's well loved by the community. The porridge was good, but nothing to right home about. The steamed chicken rice... Was not what I expected and there were meager cuts of chicken parts? But not like chicken breast or dark meat. Kinda weird. The rice roll was really good tho, but the shrimp was the small shrimp, maybe frozen? Food is decent and I'll come by again if I'm nearby...

Authentic Cantonese cuisine in Rosemead. Right next to 10 freeway with a large parking lot Signature freshly made rice noodle rolls We ordered the rare to find salty eggs flavor and it was great! Must get clay pot rice soup noodle, comes with 3 toppings of your choice for only $16 Ginseng with silky chicken soup cooked for hours Cantonese style pan fried pork ribs are flavorful Basil beef clay pot comes sizzling Hong Kong style lemon tea and coffee

Food is authentic! Servers are super busy so we didn't really get great service however it is understandable. I recommend the rice roll with pork (which u can request to add egg) steam vermicelli is also good. If you are local Chinese you must try the cow's tripe stew..

Couldn't find the spot at first in the plaza but it is located near a McDonald's. Looked big from outside but was a decent size inside with a good amount of tables and seating space. Service was really fast, got seated quick and they were fast to take our orders which was crazy at first but they were on it with service so I appreciated that. Even the food came out pretty fast. Saw that the Beef Noodle Soup was good so I had to try it, the beef broth was delicious and I love bok choy so they had me at bok choy! Beef was nicely cooked too, I liked it! Dan Dan noodles were okay and it felt like it was spicy peanut butter but still good, just not my favorite. But the pork dumplings (xiao long bao) was YUMMY. It really hit the spot when we grabbed one each and the warmth and taste was delicious. Definitely my favorite! Pork and crab dumplings were good too! I was just too full at that point to have more of it all. I'd say this place satisfied my hunger and I left there super full so I'll comeback again :)

I am insanely upset and disappointed that they'd dare to yell at us and especially in front of a child for simply asking for an update. We also overheard that the two tables next to us had to also wait a long time for their chow fun/chow mein. The servers were not particularly nice to them either. If there is a wait for a certain dish, please let your customers know . It is absolutely not on them that your kitchen is backed up. I love my community, but this was the most childish staff I've ever encountered. TLDR; workers yelled at us for simply asking where our food is. Horrible service. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. We finally went in and ordered a bunch: the Spicy Beef Shank Rice Noodle, Rattan Pepper Sliced Beef Rice Noodle, Popcorn Chicken, Sesame Balls, Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake, Fried Milk Rolls, and Fried Taro Balls. Everything was outstanding. The noodles were amazing--fresh, chewy, with high-quality ingredients you can really taste in every bite. The broths had that perfect spicy kick without being overwhelming, and the beef was super tender. My wife and I couldn't stop eating; literally everything we tried was delicious. She especially loved the Fried Taro Balls--they were crispy outside, soft and flavorful inside. The sides/snacks were all hits too: the Popcorn Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the Sesame Balls and Popping Brown Sugar Rice Cake brought great texture and sweetness, and the Fried Milk Rolls were a fun surprise. Service was top-notch--shoutout to Icey, who took such great care of us. One of the best and most attentive experiences we've had in a while. If you're in Alhambra and love good food, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won't go wrong here--highly recommend! 5 stars all the way.

One of my favorite noodle spot in SGV area…read more My go to dish would be tomato sliced beef rice noodles- the tomato soup base is the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The portion rice is very generous, I can never finish and would end up taking leftovers. Parking: they have a lot next to the restaurant, I never had an issue with finding a spot. The only downside is they don't have their AC on during the summer. I remember one time I was sweating while eating and it was very uncomfortable.
