Super Mex I love you! I've been coming here with my family for years and it's really a staple for us. The free salsa here is amazing. I always get the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans combo. The rice is good, nothing special, but the beans are incredible. The enchiladas are good too- cheesy, with a tangy sauce on top. On my most recent visit I feel like there was too much cheese on top of the beans, and would've preferred that cheese to be inside the enchiladas as they weren't as cheesy as I'd hoped. Because of all the cheese on top, the enchiladas were in a bit of a puddle of oil which wasn't the most appetizing. We still enjoyed the food and it satisfied my need for California Tex-Mex!

Had lunch with one of my friends. The place was perfectly chilled, so it felt amazing coming in. I had a michelada with the albondiga soup (yes, I am crazy lol). The service was great. The music was at a good volume too.

    #13. Amazing.

Excellent service by Michel complemented the delicious food he served us here tonight. I ordered the #28 (two ground beef tacos, cheese enchilada, and rice & beans) and it was so tasty! Loved the ground beef in the tacos and the cheesy queso in the enchilada. My wife is a wet bean burrito connoisseur and gave her meal a 10/10! Love the chill atmosphere and lively music played here - normally you'd expect mariachi music right? Nope, they were bumping Bad Bunny and we loved it! Super cool spot on 2nd Street. The place was busy but Michel was so efficient and gave us seriously amazing service. He refilled my "bubbles" (my Coke) a bunch of times and had our food out within 10 minutes of us sitting down. And it was hot! Don't touch the plate Highly recommend this spot, and give Michel a shout - he's the best!

I think they have gotten too big. The food taste like corporate food. Not really fresh. Had a problem with my special order.

They're known for their handmade flour tortillas that have an amazing bite to them. They were just awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand award this week for their excellent, affordable food. One thing that I appreciate about their tacos is that their meats have varied textures. The costilla (rib meat) is a crowd pleaser as you get the taste of the grill/charcoal. They have tripe that is crispy with corn nut texture. Cabeza (face meat) has a stewed texture. Unlike most places in LB, there is two hours free parking conveniently located across the street at the Harvey Milk Community Lot. This is easily one of the best options for tacos in Long Beach and, if you haven't had it yet, then you really should! This is the type of place that we need to support!

I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. In addition to all those basic menu items they have some stellar creations. I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. And Tony was amazing. Took very good care of us.

Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH.
