Worst sushi ever. I ordered the sashimi platter and nigiri sushi platter for take out which cost me $50. The fish quality is very poor. It texture and taste were of days old fish recently taken out of the refrigerator. Even for such crappy fish they still gave very small portions. I ended up throwing out half the meal because it was so disgusting. It's the equivalent of prepackaged supermarket cooler sushi, or maybe even sushi you would get at a gas station. I ordered a chicken sukiyaki and my boyfriend ordered the dinner bento box. The dinner bento box is ok and deserves four stars for the cheap price. But the sukiyaki is inedible. It's a big portion but it's too sweet. Almost taste like a donut in soup form, just simply disgusting. I am very disappointed. We ended up sharing the bento box and it kinda fills us both. I don't like to waste food, so I asked for a container and took everything in sukiyaki and left the soup out. I plan to cook these in a normal miso clear broth myself. Seriously would not recommend this place i have been giving them the benefit of the doubt but I cannot take it anymore. Tried calling in an order to be picked up multiple times and they never answer their phone. Ended up going there in person and the place only had two tables. Ordered through Eat24 and they still got my order wrong. As you can guess, i tried calling them and no one ever picks up the phone. This Chinese owned Japanest resto is one of my old standbys for a cheap bento box lunch. It's $6.50 for a 3 item set that comes out to a budget friendly $8 bucks with tax and tip. The interior was much larger and more spacious than what the exterior leads you to believe. The decor and ambiance is simple with a range of brown color palettes and mostly blank walls. Not much in terms of flashy photos or paintings but the wooden chairs and tables gives a homely humble touch. An awesome full blown traditional sushi bar was right in the corner. ..::[[FOOD LOWDOWN]]::.. The menu is comprehensive and impressive ohoho! Most specialty rolls are under $15 and regular rolls were under $9. I chose the Special Dinner box $9.95 and ordered the beef teriyaki, chicken katsu, and California roll. The only crime this box committed was not having ENOUGH of the delicious food! The beef was tender and drizzled in delicious teriyaki sauce, while the katsu was perfectly crispy and crunchy. The roll pieces were quite large and fresh as well. Each component of the box was top notch quality with good-sized quantity. For under $10, the portion and quality was superb. My bf and I enjoyed their deep fried oysters, and he had high praises for their Dragon Roll $8.95. The shrimp tempura and unagi toppings were on point! ..::[[FIN]]::.. It felt longer. Maybe it was longer! Well, finally ordered. The prices for the food were actually very good. I ordered a bento box with beef teriyaki, shrimp and vegetable tempura, rice, salad and 6 piece California roll all for $6! Great deal! The food is good, I actually really liked it. You get great value for your money. But the service is just horrendous. I got one glass of water the entire time. I asked, (once I was able to get a hold of someone), for more water, still never got it. The attitude of the employees is like they hate being there, they hate serving you, and just overall unhappy! We used to go to this place all the time with my family. But the rolls are not spectacular, so I tend to go to other places when I'm craving sushi. This spot however, was always good for the beef teriyaki. While the quality and quantity of the order has decreased and the price increased a bit, my dad still orders it. My mom and I always get the dinner bento box because its $8.99 and more than enough food. Unlike other sushi places, this one gives you free tea and miso no matter what you order, so that's a plus. I love ordering the saba teriyaki, the tempura, and the beef teriyaki or pork/chicken katsu in my bento. Writing this review is making me want to go back for more. It's such a good deal for the amount of food you get! Parking in this area is usually easy because most of the businesses in the area have closed down (It's a sad sight to see), but there's also a lot in the back and you can enter from the back door. read more

Sashimi was obviously not that fresh or of high quality. The saving grace? Sushi House Special Roll. This type of roll which seem to include everything in it was only $9.95. There were about 8 pieces and it was really good with the sesame. Parking can be challenging, but not too bad at all. The service really is not very good. They only refilled the tea cups after we asked and when I got there we were the only table. During our meal only one more group and a single individual came in so they dropped the ball there. I would come back to order the Sushi House Special Roll to go. This used to be a 5 star place for me. It was always a go-to spot, and would eat here once a week (minimum) with both friends and family. They remodeled so the interior, especially the sushi kitchen corner was redone really nicely. Our usuals are the happy dinner (bento) box with beef teriyaki, sashimi, and tempura; and the katsu donburi. The katsu donburi was not as flavorful this time. They increased their prices by a dollar, but everyone been telling me that they've been getting less quality/quantity. This place is always a go to spot when I go with my parents. This time it was slower than usual. The only thing was it took a long time to get our food. Long story short Red flag #1 : ask sushi chef behind counter what are his recommendations. He yelled "Go ask the waiter". Red flag#2: so I went and ask the waitress Tracy but she doesn't even know the menu. When I ask what comes in the 5pc sushi combo . She said "I think tuna, salmon , hamachi and white tuna. Mind you that only adds up to four piece what about the fifth ? Red flag#3: pay for the food and tip them before I left.( This was my fault I should have check my orders before leaving ). Red flag#4: I saw my sushi lunch box containing 1 piece of salmon and like 4 piece of hamachi. Red flag #5: call them over the phone and Tracy keeps giving excuses like 1:I thought you were asking me about sashimi 2: it's the chef choice on whatever he wants to give you. I was a fool to even tip them for a takeout order. No apologies or nothing . But Tracy finally did say if you come back we will replace the sushi with the above fish mention . So I went back there . Red flag #6 : sure they replace my lunchbox with tuna , white tuna and tai . But I saw the sushi chef didn't even formed the nigiri . He took out the fish leaving the rice on the lunchbox and just slap a new piece of tuna on top. My lunch was horribly ruined today . The white tuna looks like it was bitten off . My tuna fish broke in half when I lift it up. There was no wasabi at all in any of the nigiri. The salmon smells funky . The tai was super chewy and fishy . My friend's go to place for sushi. So my take is different. "It's okay". I would go as high as 3.5 stars but not quite 4.0. Best parking in town, that was probably my most favorite part. I like little downtown areas like this. The food: - Miso soup was fine, maybe a bit cold than usual. - Sake, Maguro, Saba nigiri were good. - Spider roll was not that bad, but not one I would order here again. The service: The service was slow, had to ask other people for tea a couple of times. The original order missed a couple of things, so had to re-order. The wait for the food took some time. The place was clean and didn't smell fishy. The ambience was nice. It wasn't too busy so didn't have to wait for a dinner table. The parking was great. Bathroom if it matters to you, and to me a clean bathroom shows care, it was dirty. Dinner time for the three of us without beer was around $90. I think that is about right for this place. read more

I think I had pieces from the dragon roll, sun roll, and the special roll. They were all tasty and satisfying. The dragon roll had a fishy aftertaste, which I suppose resulted from how they prepared the eel. I also learned to remove the lemon piece from atop the sun roll before eating it so that my mouth wasn't saturated with sour citrus. Service was slow, but I can excuse it because it was a packed Saturday night house. I'd recommend sitting as close to the kitchen as you can so you can easily wave over a server. Aside from the sashimi, the food came out slowly, but I guess it's understandable with how busy they must have been. I would give it about 3.5 stars, but I'm knocking it down a bit because of the service and because of the "green tea" ice cream. It's not brightly lit, but that's okay. There is a decent number of tables in here and seats at the bar area as well. Bathrooms are located way in the back. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and we both got a lunch bento priced at $6.95. There are only 5 options for lunch bentos and they all come with soup, salad, and rice. I was looking through Yelp and I really wanted some sushi togo. I didn't need anything fancy but I checked that this place looked cheap and the reviews are decent. I ordered two rolls through Yelp for pickup around lunchtime. Maybe I came on an off day, but the sushi is terrible. All the pieces fall apart, and didn't taste fresh at all. The mango in one of my rolls literally was like soup. The scallop had no flavor. I couldn't taste anything but the sauce. I don't think I'll be back. read more
