Came back again and food was just as good! The crunch roll was very delicious and fish was very fresh. We got Morgan as our server and he was very kind and checked up on us multiple times! Loved the ice cream here too

Strawberry ice cream on the house.

I've passed by this restaurant on numerous occasions and stopped by for the first time today. Our waiter Haram (very sweet albeit the name haha) was so sweet and attentive. The restaurant has a fun lively atmosphere especially with their 90s and 80s hits playlist. We ordered the poke bowl, sashimi bowl and the lobster dynamite bowl. Usually poke bowls at sushi places are quite small with the spare cuts of meat. To my surprise there was plenty of fish, perfect amount of yummy sauces, and a large portion. The food was beautifully presented as well. The fish itself wasn't the freshest (mom and I went 6pm Thursday). They even served us quite a large portion of ice cream, and 2 sushi pieces on the house.

    Hotty, hotty rioll! So delicious

I come here whenever I get my car serviced at Subaru--it's become my little ritual. Sushi Pop has such a chill, relaxed vibe that makes waiting for car maintenance feel like a mini treat instead of a chore. The atmosphere is cozy but upbeat, with good music that fills the space without being too loud. The food is consistently tasty and fresh--every roll feels thoughtfully made, not rushed. I especially love how the presentation always looks like something out of a magazine, even for a casual lunch. The staff are friendly in that effortless, genuine way that makes you feel welcome right away. It's the kind of place where you can sit solo and unwind, or bring a friend and linger over a few rolls and drinks. Definitely one of those spots that quietly becomes part of your routine without you even realizing it.

It's our favorite go to for sushi. And even better that it's not a chain restaurant. Great service and always trying something new and never disappointed .

F O O D OMG everything was absolutely scrumptious! We got a combination of fried and fresh options: Rainbow Spider Roll Scallop Roll Hooters Roll Crunch Shrimp Roll I'm hard pressed to decide what my favorite roll was. I saw that there were tons of options such as ramen, curry and such, but we were craving sushi and it did not disappoint. It's a bit out of the way now that I live in HB but if I'm in the area and craving Japanese this is definitely my to-go spot from now on. I also saw that they have weekday Happy Hour! S E R V I C E The service was so good! It wasn't too busy when we came during the week, but the service was still very good considering it seemed like there was only one server and one chef working. I always appreciate when staff provide good service at all times, especially when it's slow because they're not taking advantage and slacking off. L O C A T I O N I'm sad I didn't know about this place when I lived in Anaheim ;( The restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking in Fullerton. Very casual and a great place to eat by yourself at the bar or hang out with friends.

I've been coming to this sushi spot for a while now, and it's amazing from the moment you walk in until the very end. The Allison Roll and the Creamy Salmon Roll are my absolute favorites. The service is always so welcoming and attentive. This has become my sister's and my little self-care treat spot

The food, the service and ambience are exactly what I expect when I go out to eat, especially when I have my 2 kids. The udon, chicken and vegetable, neither one of my kiddos left a drop. The sushi, we did about 7 orders of nigiri sushi and every one of them hit. The Angels special roll was out of left field and fantastic. I'll def be back for the rest of the menu. Oh and a side note; they play K-POP on the TVS and the tunes they play are, as the kids say, fire.

Great service and great food! The sushi was very fresh and delicious. My wife got the bento box and portions waa huge too. Highly recommend the beef, it was very tender. Green tea ice cream was one of the best I've had too.

    Green tea ice cream

We got the Euclid, Lemon, and the Baked salmon rolls. And an ice cream! We've come a few times now for their sushi and it's always super tasty. We're making our way down the entire menu hehehe. Highly recommend Sushi Pop! My favorite roll is the Lemon roll.

The sushi rolls were perfect . Tasty and well presented. We ordered the sexy shrimp rolls, baked lobster Baked salmon and they have a kids menu and we got the grilled beef. It comes with steamed rice , 2 dumplings and salad . The inside is pretty and clean . The servers were attentive.

    Is it AYCE sushi place?

It used to have AYCE, but they stopped during pandemic shutdown and then never brought it back due to inflationary pressure on the cost of fish and other ingredients.

    Is it a buffet?

They do not have a buffet.

Is your raw fish flash frozen before serving?

    Is AYCE back? Thanks!

Went there on 08/22/2021 and the person at the front said they will not be bringing AYCE back

Does the whole table need to get AYCE?

    No, but it's not shareable!

    Is ayce available?

    It's not available yet

    Are they doing ayce?

We were there last week and they were NOT doing ayce yet.

Are they doing ayce during COVID? And is there outdoor seating?

    There is no outdoor seating

When will you guys be open for dine in?

    They have dine in now

How much is their AYCE for lunch on Saturday? Thanks!

    $22.99 before 3:30pm $27.99 after 3:30pm

How much is all u can eat sushi per person?

I believe the price per person for the AYCE is $27.50

Is the sashimi AYCE too? Or do you have to have rice?

With the dinner menu, you have like 5 choices of fish, which you can order one serving of each. Not AYCE but you get a lot of fish.

How much is all you can eat sushi here?

I think lunch is about $22 and dinner is $25-$28

    How much is AYCE?

    Ayce is 25.99

    How is the ramen here?

I haven't had the ramen but my lunch-mate who isn't an afficionado said it wasn't great.

    How much is AYCE?

It was $24.95 per person when we went

    How much is AYCE?

    26.99

Do you have to do ayce?

Nope. They have a great selection on a-la-carts sushi and other foods as well.

Has anybody eaten at both Sushi Damu AND at Sushi Pop in Fullerton? Which is better? Thanks!

I love both but sushi pop is my regular spot. Service and price is way better. Quality at damu is slightly better but not enough to make me choose it over sushi pop!

Fifteen courses that are surprises because even tho there's a "template" of types of dishes, each one is ultimately the chef's choice. As each course was brought out, our waiter did an excellent job of describing what each item was and it's place of origin. Fifteen courses is alot to try to remember each specific dish so I decided to stay in the moment (after I snapped a pic) and enjoyed each one as we had them and talked about the flavor profiles and what we liked best about it. When my son had made the reservation he must have told them we were celebrating my birthday because in addition to the regular dessert course, our server brought me a birthday dessert which included green tea ice cream and a slice of matcha cheesecake. The full omakase experience was delicious and so fun! I told my son that it was like an advent calendar ~ each course we "opened" had us saying "ooo, how yummy" and left us with almost giddy anticipation of what we'd discover next. If you're looking for something fun and unique for a special occasion, I highly recommend the full omakase experience at Akashiro!

So we found this place and it was in the same vicinity and yay, they took reservations. Made reservations same day for a 18:30 seating. Service is impeccable. We were welcomed with hot towels, and this impressed me: when our server asked if we wanted cold or hot water. Love it! We opted for hot, better for digestion :) Our libation: Kubota sake - semi dry, rich, clean Our dishes: Assorted sashimi (16 pcs) - omakase. No soy sauce needed. Chef prepared with delicious flavors in mind. Tiger scallops - served in a what appears to resemble petrified wood, carved into a long boatlike dish. Hokkaido shrimp, cilantro oil, chilaquita (Peruvian onion relish), sweet potato crisp, smoke aji Amarillo (Peruvian yellow chili) Leche de tigre (rich emulsion of limes, Peruvian spices and chilis) - A complexity of flavors that comes together so completely. Eat with spoon. The delicate potato crisp finishes the bite with a little crunch. Udon picante - bell peppers, quinoa and 2 jumbo shrimp. Love the heat level. Comfort food at its best. Salmon parmesan - Nikkei sushi - seared salmon, parmesan bitter, eel sauce , arare, lime. Amazing. O toro sushi - the fattiest cut of tuna. Eat as is. Again chef prepared. No added seasoning required. Parri maki - fried shrimp, cream cheese, seared tuna topped with chimichurri, aji amarillo, chalaquita, ponzu. Food experience was enhanced by their impeccable taste in music. Super chill, soft beats stream the restaurant. With its perfect lighting too sets all the good moods for us. Don't wait for this fine dining experience of Japanese and Peruvian fusion. Note: when they ask if you want soy sauce, say No, thank you. It would be a shame to kill the taste of a beautiful dish with any added sauce. Kampai! Salud!

First, the BOGO deal is awesome. There are happy hour deals, but we rarely get there in time to take advantage. It's just a bit of a drive for us to get there early enough. Second, the Chefs!!! Go to any sushi joint you want... you've got ONE chef slinging fish, totally backed up, trying his best to keep pace, and all the while losing attention to detail and presentation. CRnS always has 3 sometimes 4 Chef's behind the line. The result is faster service.... Of course.... But presentations that are almost too pretty to eat... but, it's sushi, so we eat them anyway. And third, the servers.... They are pretty consistent....There are not new servers every other week like some lesser joints. You get familiar with them and they get familiar you. Which leads me to James! James is awesome, polite, helpful, attentive, and just does a great job. I could never do it.... I'd be like "Bruh, I was just here 2 minutes ago, why didn't you ask more Wasabi and Ginger then?" Not James, always glad to bring us more Wasabi and Ginger.... We got the teriyaki chicken bento, shrimp tempura udon, California roll, and tuna roll. The udon had a relatively sweet broth. I expected a kitsune broth (umami-rich with dashi) as the restaurant specializes in sushi. Regardless, it was decent; the accompanying shrimp tempura were good. Interestingly, this restaurant is also mentioned in the Michelin Guide. I believe this is due to the quality of the rolls. The tuna tasted amazingly refreshing. I liked the California rolls too. For the quality served, they were decently priced. I'm sure more premium items would taste delicious. Walking inside is like entering a small traditional izakaya densely packed with Japanese decor. The restaurant is usually busy with only one or a couple servers accommodating everyone. Sitting at the sushi bar is convenient as the chefs can serve orders themselves. I wouldn't go here if I was in a rush due to the restaurant's popularity. The parking situation is fine, but make sure to use the bigger lot sectioned off from the restaurants.

TL;DR: If you like your sushi with dessert-flavored soy sauce, mystery-broth miso soup, grocery…read morestore tempura, and a side of fruit flies, this might be your spot. I, however, will be continuing my search for edible sushi. I really wanted to like this place, but it turned into one of those meals where each dish somehow managed to outdo the last. The sushi rice was dry, bland, and completely unseasoned. The fish was sliced so thin I thought I accidentally ordered the "printer paper" cut. There was so much rice compared to fish that every bite felt like I was eating a rice ball that briefly met a tuna. The miso soup tasted like someone emptied half a jar of instant broth into a pot and called it a day. Then came the sauces. The ponzu was oddly sweet, and somehow even the soy sauce tasted sweet. I wasn't expecting my sushi to come with dessert seasoning. The tamago was so sweet it should've been listed under the dessert menu. One bite was enough. The assorted tempura was another surprise, not the good kind. The batter reminded me of the frozen tempura you buy in the grocery store freezer aisle. I've never had tempura at a sushi restaurant that tasted like it came with microwave instructions. To top it off, there were flies and little fruit fly-type bugs making their rounds around the table. Nothing says "fresh seafood" quite like having to share your meal with tiny uninvited dinner guests. The 10-piece sushi set definitely wasn't worth the price. I'm genuinely puzzled by all the glowing reviews. The overall quality was closer to an average all-you-can-eat sushi spot than what the ratings led me to expect. Unfortunately, this is one restaurant I won't be revisiting.
