Great food quite great price a must try if you love sushi!

The sushi is good, as long as the sushi chefs stop adding unnecessary toppings...I would really suggest they don't add any sauces/wasabi toppings on their fish; it was just TOO much and we had to tell our waiter if we could get all toppings on the side. Although the fish wasn't bad, their service is a different story: The ONLY way I'll give Sushi Pop another try is if their service improves. They tried to offer REALLY good service the night my boyfriend and I went, and it ended up being cringe-worthy. The waitstaff LITERALLY stood at our table until we were ready for our next round of AYCE sushi. Why? Leave us alone! On top of that, an older female waiter kept standing by our waiter, and she was trying to take over our table. SO WEIRD! I was looking at the menu for our next choice of rolls and she smiles at me, picks up my menu, and takes it away. I WAS LOOKING THAT MENU, LADY!! Seriously, get your act together waiters!!! I came on Friday here around 3ish service was good until I got my food about 4 groups came after me and they practically ignored me after that my server left after i got my food never came back and took a good 20 minutes till the guy who had 3 tables to attend me wasn't his fault my server just never came back I oredered sake and the check was still there another 20 minutes the food was delicious but service was just bad I am going to again if the service is the same its off my list of sushi is rather pay more for great service read more

This my favorite sushi place in the OC. Very talented sushi chefs and great friendly staff. I am not sure if this guy is bullshitting me but he always greets me like he knows me. He's always giving me complimentary rolls and always recommends great sushi. My favorite roll is the Lobster Dynamite Roll in second the dragon roll cuz I love fresh water eel done right and the rainbow spider is always on point. The best part is the fucken delicious green tea ice cream they hook you up with in the end. It looks and sounds healthy and for a fat guy it feels like I just worked out. I love sushi so much, I could probably eat just sushi for the rest of my life and be happy! Any sushi place that has good sushi is worth mentioning. Sushi pop has very delicious, good quality rolls, and a wide variety of different kinds of rolls. Prices aren't bad for what you get, left full and had quite a bit of food. Mainly because my friend and I got the "All you can eat lunch special" for $21. We got a lot of food, almost didn't finish it but had to because they said they charge for leftover food. Which is smart because so many people now barely even touch their food and demand it to be taken away. Such a waste of food. But not at sushi pop. However the main reason why I decided on 3 stars was the servers. When I got there there was only 1 person waiting and seating an entire restaurant. Took forever to get our menu, and the waitress looked so stressed out she was ready to cry. However, she was super apologetic about everything. The thing I didn't like was how the sushi makers treated the server, didn't even help the waitress for a little bit, they were almost yelling at her if she didn't come and pick up the sushi within 1 minute of being placed on the counter to be picked up, even if she was taking someone's order or seating a customer. They could clearly see how stressed she was running back and forth like a chicken with her head cut off and kept releasing huge sighs of disappointment. Then towards the end another man came in and started waiting tables, he was possibly on his break or just started his shift? Idk, but I felt bad for our waitress and they should have helped her out more it seemed a little too much for her. But she did very good despite being stressed beyond belief. read more

Awesome place! Fish is fresh, they offered us samples of one of their rolls while we waited for our food, one of the chefs brought us some saki, and they brought ice cream to our table at the end! The waitress was very friendly, for ayce sushi dinner it was $26.99 which was more expensive than Sake 2 Me's $24.95. Im writing this as I'm waiting for the food. I have high hopes. Really disappointed in this place. I just moved to the area and wanted to grab some rolls to go. They told me on the phone it would be a 30 min wait so I went ahead and put in my order. I arrived about 35 minutes later thinking my order would be ready but it was not. Had to wait an additional 30 mins for my food. They felt bad and threw in a soup and salmon collar. Food was blah. Spicy tuna roll was the worse I've ever had but the rainbow roll was okay. Salmon collar was dry and burnt (that's why it was probably thrown in for free). Everything about Sushi Pop is spot on - fresh food, great service and good oldies music. This place has some of the best AYCE sushi I've ever had. I recommend the seared salmon, albacore and yellowtail sushi. That said, everything we tried was delicious. Came here on Saturday at 4pm! It wasn't busy at all, so our food was able to come out quickly! Me and my brother ordered the baked salmon, unagi bowl, and heart attack (jalapeño bomb). Everything was very good and our servers were extremely attentive. I would definitely come back for the rolls and I want to try the AYCE! I noticed that the heart attack is also on the AYCE menu, which is pretty awesome. I would consider coming back just for the AYCE and the unlimited jalapeño bombs. Hahahaha! read more

Torn.. I went here with a friend on a Saturday for happy hour. They were unfortunately very understaffed so we had quite a while until someone finally bussed the dirty tables and we could get seated. We got a spot at the bar, so our wait for our food to come out wasn't as long as for the people in the booths/at the tables. A few items we ordered were forgotten and we were basically neglected after putting in our second order which ultimately caused us to just cancel it and ask for the check instead. If you go here get the snow crab, the Alaska roll and the ono nigiri. All delicious! read more
