This restaurant is a little difficult to find when it's dark, but when you find it, it's a super cute sushi spot. In terms of food, I thought the rolls were pretty good for the price. The ratio of filling to rice was pretty decent. I will say though, the texture of the rice was a little firmer than I normally expect when I'm having rolls. I always order California rolls when I get sushi, and I think the roll was ok. It wasn't the best California roll that I've ever had, but I would have it again. Delicious. I'll come back to try some of my favorites, but the sushi combo sounded so perfect and had several of my go tos. I added a quail egg to the masago (thank me later) everything was fresh. Went back again to see if things have changed. I appreciate that they can accommodate gluten free requests, but there's no GF menu... The first half of our rolls had old/chewy rice. We were a big party and they did great to accommodate us. Joanne has excellent customer service serving us. All staff there were very welcoming and friendly! Came in for dinner and was a fantastic experience all-around. Started off with a few rolls and the garlic edamame. The roll was awesome, but the garlic edamame might hands down be the best edamame I've had in a long time. Sushi came out amazingly quickly, and have to hand it to the staff and owner, this place really does not skimp out on fish. Clean interior and overall presentation was great. Perfect for a date night! Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised with their sake lineup, noticed they also carried my favorite onikoroshi and I couldn't resist getting some. The prices were decent and not too overly expensive. They didn't skimp out either. Especially with the thick sushi slices and the gigantic rolls. The garlic edamame was tasty an addicting too. Loved the service, everyone was super friendly. I brought my dog so they allowed me to sit in the outside area. Also they accept Apple Pay which was good cus we also forgot our wallet I like that the rolls weren't like tiny like some places and they didn't have like too much rice on it. My husband said the orange roll was surprisingly refreshing from the lemon slice on top. He usually isn't like a huge raw sushi lover but he enjoyed it. I usually am the raw sushi lover but im currently pregnant so I'm living vicariously through him LOL I had the dragon roll which was yummy! This roll was cut into large pieces and topped with hefty helpings of baked salmon. Sushi Town is a great place to get sushi. I ordered to go sushi and it was done in an extremely timely manner. FYI their rolls are huge.. i bought two not knowing that one was probably more than enough. Especially if you get something like the Bravo roll.. it has so much fish. That one alone would have been enough. Although, my personal favorite had to be the Euclid Roll. If you like cilantro, this is a great option. Honestly they have something for everyone here I am sure you will have no problem picking something to your personal preference. 5 stars for quick, delicious sushi. 5 stars for friendly customer service. Don't judge a book by its cover. I was definitely judging the area as I thought we were on the wrong side of town with the dark street, massage parlor, and liquor store in this strip mall. My friend and I were deciding whether to leave or stay. However, we opted to stay and gave the place a shot. The restaurant atmosphere is fairly simple with a large chef/bar area that occupied most of the restaurant. We were seated quickly on a Friday night. After looking at the menu, my friend and I were ready to order. However, a small problem was that the waiters probably didn't know we were ready until we turned around and flagged them to let them know. I suppose it's one of the caveats to sitting at the chef bar with your back to the waiters. Initially, I was unpleased with the selection of rolls as I felt that the fillings were mostly crab meat or spicy tuna. I wished there were more options of fish as filings in the rolls. Some of the rolls we ordered were the baked scallops, tuna, and salmon rolls. I was pleasantly impressed by the taste even though I knew it was fatty. I liked how fresh and tender the fish tasted. BEST SUSHI I HAD IN A HOT MIN :o I am residing at riverside for school but heard about this restaurant while browsing through yelp!! I didn't know what to expect but the quality of sashimi, thickness of the sushi pieces, perfect balance of flavors for the rolls were immaculate. The ratio of rice to fish was a perfect 1:2 (1 being the rice!!) In my experiences, sushi places usually pack on rice to get the customers full but the chefs generously and delicately prepared a decent amount of rice and big portions of fish to get that perfect bite. The Himalayan roll, sweet shrimp sushi, and salmon were my top 3!! The Himalayan roll was an explosion of umami flavor with a slight hint of charred fish due to the top being delicately torched. The rice to fish ratio was again so perfect that it was a bite I kept looking forward to. The sweet shrimp sushi was soooooo fresh!! It's hard to get this dish right without it being fishy but this was so sweet with a delightful bouncy texture. Also, the head was deep fried which tasted like a korean shrimp snack :) Lastly, the salmon was sososooo delicious. The thickness and the length of the sushi piece was impressive. Dipping some ginger in soy sauce mixed with wasabi and placing on top of the sushi is truly the best bite in my opinion!! The workers were so friendly and always filled our waters and continuously asked if we needed anything. I am guilty of asking for multiple refills of ginger bc I love to eat ginger with every bite. But despite constantly asking for refills they always brought more with a smile. The vibe of this restaurant is so welcoming, comfortable, and inviting. The fish is here is fresh! I specifically LOOOOOVE the toro! If you can sit at the bar, as there's nothing like getting dishes had to you by the sushi chefs themselves. A small gem of a place in Costa Mesa. It's in a small plaza, so there's limited parking, but for lunch on a Thursday, there was plenty of room. Service was good and our server gave us plenty of time to order. They offer various kinds of sushi (cut rolls, sashimi, special rolls), noodles (yaki soba, udon, and ramen), lunch/dinner combos, salads, and appetizers. My friends and I ordered several rolls to share. We got the Spider Roll, the Volcano Roll, Pink Cadillac, Crunchy Roll, Tuna Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll. Pink Cadillac (salmon wrapped around tuna and crab meat) is from their All Time Favorites menu and it's really smooth and fish quality is top notch. Really great if you're a sashimi lover. I preferred the Crunchy Roll, which was probably one of the best I've had and the Spider Roll was good too. Portions are pretty big -- they don't skimp on anything and prices are very reasonable. If anything, Sushi Town's prices are lower than those at comparable sushi spots. I would skip the cut rolls next time (very ordinary and presentation is meh), but I would come back for the Crunchy Roll and try out their other ones. read more

Got the Chicken Teriyaki and my dad ordered a Shrimp Tempura Udon. Was so delicious and tasted neat, just how we like it. The portion was fairly large as well, considering we are not hefty eaters.
