There was no wait and we were seated immediately after we sat right next to the kitchen. The décor is amazingly beautiful and the service is stupendous. We ordered the big hip and made it into a meal so that we can add eggs and the millionaire's bacon with a side of potatoes to share rather than ordering the big hip plus an egg dish. The millionaire's bacon is beyond delicious and the big hip was so crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside it was the best of both words (especially with the fruit on top!). The potatoes and eggs tasted very organic and fresh which was nice (i hate salty foods) and so it was seasoned pretty well. Whenever we needed anything , the waiters would know immediately -like refilling my water, wanted additional bacon, wanting the check/to go box. With a reservation, we only had to wait ~10 minutes. The outdoor seating was a bit cold in the shade, but they had overhead heaters which made the wind less chilly. I got the test kitchen shrimp scramble and my guest got the French toast. We also got bottomless mimosas, and we ended up drinking a pitcher and a half of those. The rules are $22/person for an hour and you can get as many refills until your hour is up. Also, at the end of the hour, they top off your glass and take away the pitcher. So our meal was good but treatment received by the Hostess afterwards was awkward and embarrassing. We were left the bill $138.00 and some change for four. Rather than using a card we paid cash and left a nice tip. There was no one around to collect it so as we were leaving the busboy and waitress thanked us and we left. I found out about this place about two years ago - my friend group was looking for a nourishing meal before biking over the Golden Gate Bridge. Later I found out that it belongs to the same chain of restaurants as Surisan, Kitchen Story and Berkeley Social Club. For drinks, I highly suggest getting the coconut latte - don't be fooled, it has no caffeine in it, but it literally tastes like a bounty candy bar! As for food, if you want to have pancakes, their traditional pancakes are very fluffy; but I prefer going with the sweet potato pancakes that are a healthier and lighter option and pack a stronger cinnamon flavor. Their deep fried French toast is their specialty, but make sure you share it with friends - it can get a bit heavy (but delicious!). Compared to the plethora of great brunch spots in San Francisco, Sweet Maple is definitely one I would pass on. Overhyped, WAYY overpriced, and average tasting, this place was not worth the 20 minute drive I made to enjoy some brunch. For the pros, me and my friend were seated almost immediately when we arrived at the restaurant. The service was pretty good, and after reading through the menus and Yelp reviews, my friend and I decided to order the Big Hip (deep fried French Toast) with mixed berries and the Francis Benedict (benedict with sausage, tomato, avocado and hollandaise sauce) with homestyle potatoes. The food took a while to come, but when it did, I was amazed but how pretty it was and what huge servings were given! After a bunch of pictures and Snapchats, we dug in. For the cons, the Big Hip was NOT good. The edges of the French Toast were quite hard, black, and simply tasted burnt. I would have to use my knife like a saw just to cut into the toast, and it was sooo hard and brittle when I bit into it. The inside of the toast was pretty cakey and too heavy in my opinion. It didn't really even taste like French Toast at all. The Francis Benedict was tasted decent but was nothing memorable. The only thing I enjoyed most from our entrees was the homestyle potatoes. They were really crispy on the outside and addictive. Overall, this place didn't quite live up to my expectations. I'm not really sure why it has so many good Yelp reviews. The price you pay for the food isn't worth it. We paid more than $40 just for brunch! ** takeout review ** i have been meaning to try this place out for so long and i think that i would have enjoyed it more i had a chance to dine in with them. they are known for their millionaire's bacon and all of their french toasts and eggs benedict options look amazing! price: it is on the higher end because of their location. i would say an average meal per person would be around $20 without tip. bulgogi scramble: marinated ribeye, carrots, spnach, shallow, scallion with a side of gochujang sauce. this was super unique and i have never had a bulgogi scramble before. the gochujang sauce had a sweet and savory kick with this dish and it was still hot when i had it. there were potatoes that came with it, but for $20 i would not get it again. it is unique, for sure! but i personally do not think scrambles should be more than $15 (even in this area!) their takeout was quick and easy, however i wish they had packaged their napkins and utensils better. they tossed them in the bag and i usually wait until i get home to use my own utensils, but because the drive was 1+ hours, i ate it in the car. i hope to try them again when things are better and try some of their main dishes! read more

The side of assorted root vegetables was flavorful and crispy. There were different colored potatoes, sweet potatoes, and carrots (I think). Driving past Sweet Maple and seeing the long line, it's not good for one's hunger/hanger level, but the wait was pretty fast! The hostess does a good job at going down the line checking in with people to see who has a smaller party and letting them go in instead of waiting forever. It was hard looking at people's food through the window and starving though. The drinks were okay, a little expensive for not that much alcohol. I would pass on the mimosas and get a coffee instead.The barista knows how to handle that espresso machine. Line was about 15 Long by 10am on a Sunday. They promote there bacon and specifically the millionaire bacon. I got 2 slices with what would be Consider a slam at cheaper places. Usually find things with kids cereals like capt crunch to be gimmicky. At another place there capt crunch French toast tasted like Burger King French sticks. Here they were good as did add a bit of sweetness and crunch. Syrup was good. Scrambled eggs were well cooked. The bacon though okay was a bit fattier and not as crisp as I like. I feel bad leaving a negative review during a hard time, but I also was led here because of their great Yelp reviews so want to leave some honest feedback. I'll start by saying the staff was great, especially while so busy. I wish I could say the same about the food. The millionaire bacon was amazing & really the only stand out thing I ate. We ordered the Frisco scramble and the millionaire melt -- both of which were incredibly mediocre. It's hard for me to even describe the flavors, they were so middle of the road. My scramble badly needed salt but there was no salt on the table to be found and the place was so busy that there was no quick way to ask for salt. It wasn't until after I finished my meal that I noticed the chicken apple sausage was actually in there. It just was chopped up so finally that you could barely taste or notice it. I'd say the same about the melt: it was just fine. 3/5 at best. The ambience was the worst thing. If you're going to go here make sure you wait for outdoor seating by the heating lamps so you don't freeze or get sat by a dirty curb and bus stop. I had to ask to move inside because it was quite cold and even there we were sat by the kitchen which was blasting techno music as if it was a nightclub and the side door which was wide open and made it equally freezing. The whole situation was incredibly stressful and I was counting down until we left. Wish the experience was different since I live right up the road but for now I don't plan on going back. read more
