This place is a gem for all breakfast lovers. It has been a week since I've eaten here, and I am still thinking about this place! Now, whenever I am asked where to eat, my reply is "Sweet Maple" despite the place being more than 8 hours away from me. The service is great! They are attentive, and refill drinks quickly. The food is beyond amazing. I highly recommend the crunch flakes (it's a delicious French toast) and upgrade it to a full breakfast meal with 2 eggs and a millioniare's bacon. The bacon was juicy and thick. I believe it was worth the extra 9 dollars. You will not regret it! My friend was visiting during winter and wanted to try food here so we went for brunch. Waited in the cold wind for 30 mins. water is served at the front if anyone in the line gets thirsty. But they can do better if they have a waitlist, not letting people wait outside in the wind or rain? Dont understand the marketing purpose of some restaurants by taking away the waiting list and let people just stand in line to show that they are Popular, and just let people waste time in the line. Caught cold afterwards. Regarding the food, except the bacon, the other dishes aren't outstanding. We ordered bacon flight, for 2 people, that's too oily and too much. Personally I don't get the hype at all. For brunch, this place is totally overpriced and not that tasty. I think I ordered a crab omelette and left so much on my plate because it was flavorless. The service was very strange, I don't think we ever had a clear communication with our server, not sure if it was the noise or a language barrier or what. Came here on a Saturday around 1 for brunch and it was a pretty bustling place. Despite the line going out, we were seated pretty quick. I got the Grand Marnier French toast with berries and my friend got a Big Hip with a fried banana on top. Mine was really good, had a nice subtle orange flavor and was a perfect French toast. My friend's French toast was kind of like the outside of a corn dog, not as good as mine. I tried the Millionaire's Bacon, which was apparently featured on Discovery Channel. They were nice, thick slices of bacon with a flavor reminiscent of teriyaki beef jerky. Not bad. For drinks, I got 2 mimosas, one bitter and one sweet. They were really good and the stars of the show. My friends caramel macchiato was really tasty as well, and better than Starbucks. Not overwhelming sweet. This place is definitely nice for a special occasion brunch and definitely instragammable. There were no shortage of people taking selfies with their food lol. I've been by Sweet Maple several times, but I've often been deterred due to the long wait. I'm always a fan for brunch, but waiting on the sidewalk for more than a 30 minutes on a weekday seemed a bit extreme. However, I decided to brave the wait on a recent Friday, and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I tried the Marnier french toast and decided to be a complete glutton and add poached eggs and bacon on the side. I thought the french toast was well-made, and I thought they did a nice job on the poached eggs. I also got their fresh-squeezed orange juice, but I thought it could have benefitted from being more tart. I do think that Sweet Maple is on the pricy side for what you end up getting, but overall, I think the quality is great and the service was good despite the high volume of customers. read more

Decided to come her for my bday brunch. I ordered the black stone because it came with the millionaires bacon, the bacon was 10/10 and the highlight of the dish, the English muffin was kinda soggy but the poached egg was delicious also the potatoes were really crunch and delicious in my opinion. My gf got the chicken ranchero and it was kinda of a let down didn't have much flavor and kinda lacked something. For drinks I got a mimosa which didn't really taste good at all and my gf got a fresh squeezed OJ and that was delicious! I'm gonna come right out and say it. I don't get the fuss... at all. Went on a weekday, and it had a line out the door. The place was loud and chaotic. The host seemed flustered and wasn't even up front most of the time to manage putting names on the wait list. So, you would go inside, have to wait for her to show up minutes later, give her your name, and then be told to wait outside in the velvet ropes they set up to form a line outside. Better be good food, right? Well it was not... at all. In fact, it was some of the only bad food I had on my Summer trip through San Francisco. What can I say that is good? The place is nice looking, even if it is totally hipster. The food looks absolutely amazing, even if none of it tastes very good. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, the server we got not only had a poor control of the English language but also had just started that day and could not answer any questions we had. Not even what types of cheese they offered for a cheeseburger. She apologized, but since this was our first time, it was like the blind leading the blind through the menu when we ordered. The cheeseburger was probably a decent quality meat but seriously lacked any seasoning or flavor. Totally unmemorable. The original eggs benedict with a potatoes medley was also unspectacular and totally not worth a wait. I had the worst experience at our table, I think. I ordered their two specialty bacons - Dixie Bacon, which is deep fried bacon, and Millionaire's Bacon, which is cooked with brown sugar and pepper. They were both awful, and I've never before met a piece of bacon I didn't like (except maybe raw or too fatty). The Millionaire's is meant to be sweet and spicy, but it is sticky sweet and not pleasant. The Dixie is far worse. It is coated in panko crumbs, which seems bizarre and tastes horrible. The fact I bit in and the bacon looked raw in one of the two pieces made me queasy. The Crunch Flakes French Toast looked like a work of art on the plate but didn't wow in any way except visually. The flavors didn't work. And JD's special syrup with Jack Daniels and bacon bits only made it worse. I thought the food going down would be the worst part of my day, but within an hour I found it was going to be coming out far worse. Being on vacation in S.F. and having already checked out of my hotel, I had to return to the scene of the crime to use their bathrooms - one of which looked like a health hazard (luckily, the other was spotless). Will never return. I would recommend going elsewhere, like Mymy (which is nearby and excellent). Would certainly never wait even 5 minutes to get in here for food poisoning. Skip it! read more

Wowza! This place was sooooooo tasty. We came here on a Sunday during brunch time and it was absolutely packed (as expected), we probably waited about 30-45m in line. It was a little chilly outside but when we got to the front they offered us outdoor seating (which was immediate) or to wait for the next table. We opted for the outdoor seating - on a whim, I asked them for blankets and they had them!!!! Ask for a blanket if you're cold and outside. Almost all of us got a hot beverage to keep us warm, and we ordered a variety of food. We had to try the bacon, so we ordered the millionaire's and dixie bacon. To me, bacon is bacon (most "high end" bacon seems to taste relatively similar), but wow, this was a fantastic cut. It's a bit pricey, and you only get 2 slices, but it's incredibly thick and is packed with flavor. The dixie bacon... you know, I'm not actually sure if there was bacon in there? I couldn't taste any as it mostly tasted and felt (texture-wise) like the breaded covering that was on the outside. I ordered the SM omurice, I've had this at Kitchen Story and fully intended on getting something else, but I couldn't resist. The others ordered a variety of benedicts, scrambles and omelettes. Honestly, everything was absolutely fantastic. The omurice has to be one of my *all time* favorite breakfasts across all brunch places I've been to... it's that good. Sweet Maple... listen man (and woman), simply put this place is heavenly. Fried french toast, like who does that? Well let me tell you, if they're frying french toast... me and Kelsay are buying! We even waited for like 40 minutes, and every minute was worth it! So let's get to it. I got the Marnier, the classic french toast with gran marnier batter. woah, easily the best french toast i've ever had. Kelsay has the big hip, the deep fried french toast. Listen, the extra crunch you get from it being deep fried takes it to the next level. This is definitely a meal you have and head straight home for a nap. Kelsay also had the millionaires bacon, one of their signature items. I don't eat pork, but it still made my mouth water, and according to Kels it was the BEST bacon she ever had. Ok so before I dive into this review I'll preface it with I'm typically nonplussed by breakfast. It's generally unimaginative and repetitive. Juice / coffee+ choice x pancakes or waffles = same old breakfast. THIS WAS NOT THAT! This was absolutely amazing in every way. When we arrived they were on 15-20 minute wait. Because we opted for outdoor seating and we were a party of 2 we were sat in 5 minutes. Score! When we sat down we were offered a choice of bottomless mimosa. We elected for strawberry but switched to traditional. The coffee was amazing and I'm team tea all day ( I realize I sound like somewhat of an a hole lol ) it was the most unique fresh coconut cream latte I've ever tasted. It was delicious. Did the meal I had the cowboy bacon which is deep fried and served with Siracha Catsup. It was joy in my mouth. I also had a scramble that cane served on a bed of rice, topped in scrambled edges, with braised ribeye throughout. IT WAS THE BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD. I say that with no hyperbole... or was simply incredible. The service was top flight, the space was clean, the food came out swiftly, and the check was right. The only reason I'm marking it down 1 star though is because I ordered their coconut creme latte (which was good though a bit on the sweet side) but it didn't come with espresso? I thought it was weird that it's called a latte but it has no coffee, lol. So i had to ask for espresso shots which was additional $2 on top of the $6 "latte." My two friends both ordered the Mariner. One came with berries, the other didn't so my friend asked for berries and she was charged. I had never heard of this place prior to my random Yelp search for a brunch place. This place is worth the wait. Even though we came about 45 mins before they closed (at 3pm on Sunday), we still waited about 30-35 minutes for a table. Get the blackstone benedict!! I've eaten many benedicts in my lifetime thus far, and this one is my favorite. The magical part is definitely the millionaire's bacon, which adds so much to the whole dish. Flavors: sweet, savory, tangy, a little spicy. Textures: soft, chewy, creamy, meaty, crunchy, juicy. I just described the whole dish. All the elements were delicious together, and was so interesting to eat because there were so many different flavors and textures. Another favorite element were the tomatoes, which I think were grilled? They were almost like juicy sun-dried tomatoes because they were fresh but so so tangy and flavorful. I'm salivating as I'm writing this. Bf got eggs with the chicken mango sausage, and it was a surprise to find whole giant chunks of mango inside. His dish was less exciting than mine, but he still enjoyed it (but not as much as I enjoyed mine). Service was also friendly and mostly attentive. I can see why this is a popular place. Not your typical breakfast spot! You'll see the menu is pretty straightforward with your usual breakfast items, but then you'll see the Korean touch with words like bulgogi and gochujang...hooray!! We went for two different bulgogi items - the bulgogi scramble and the omurice plate. We were sat right away on a Tuesday morning and the food came out within 15 minutes! It was a little pricey at $17-18 per plate but the flavor and portion size made it definitely worthwhile. My omurice plate was packed with tender bulgogi and topped with the fluffiest scrambled eggs I've ever had. It was also covered in a gravy-like sauce. It could've used some kind of heat, but thankfully I just grabbed some of my boyfriend's gochujang that came with his bulgogi scramble, and also enjoyed the sriracha ketchup available on the table. Aside from the main meal, the potatoes were soft and flavorful (favorite was the sweet yam!) and the bread was delicious with that vibrant colored jam on the table. This will always be the brunch spot. I don't even want to write a review about it because I want to keep this place to myself. You can tell by the wait times and line outside the door that they are undeniably the best brunch spot. The waiters and hosts are the nicest people and make sure your experience there is enjoyable. I can't tell if it's because I'm drunk already when they deliver my dishes but they are also so talkative and check in on how the food is! Great hospitality! The Benedicts are untouchable!
