Wow. People were not joking about this bacon. DEFINITELY recommend coming before 930 on a weekend. We showed up around 9 and were able to walk right in and get a table for 2 which was pretty unexpected Ayer reading these reviews. We order coffee which was great. Also got the Millionaire's Mary which had some bacon in it so you really can't lose there. The food prices are a little steeper than average but you get SO much food. We ordered breakfast tacos which has this great mango sausage flavor with eggs and avocados. The tacos are HUGE! Don't be deterred by the line. It's long, it's full of people, but there's plenty of good reasons to wait in it. The hostess makes sure to keep track of group size and the seats available inside. And on the side is hot coffee with cream, sugar, stirrers and small cups for you to fix up for yourself while you wait. Amazingly well thought out and I appreciated that on a Sunday morning. With a group of 7, we took the first table available outside. The inside looked nice and modern though, with the football game on the TVs. Outside they offer you blankets to wrap yourself in! The good ideas keep flowing from this place! However, here's the one star deduction. Yes the wait to be seated was long but the wait to be served felt longer. We got our waters like one at a time. When we finally ordered, the coffee didn't come until we flagged down a waitress. And then one person's side of potato's came first before any actual food. Like...what? But, all that was redeemed a bit when we finally got everything although another person had to ask three times for ranch from different people. I have been here twice and it's the same quality of food and service we receive, which is always pleasant. Luckily, they have coffee out for free! They really take care of their customers. :) We devoured our food per the photos. Every plate was delicious. I've heard of Sweet Maple's famous Millionaire's Bacon, and I really wanted to try it, but I haven't had the chance to go until a few days ago. I had yoga in the morning so I couldn't go for breakfast early as suggested by so many people. I was worried that there would be a long line. However, that was not the case. The restaurant was very crowded, but they had openings so we were seated as soon as we arrived. I love the setting of the restaurant. It reminds me of eating at an outdoor cafe. And they have so many condiments on the table. I was curious so I looked at all of them to see what they had to offer. There was a lot. After looking over the menu for several long minutes and having difficulty deciding what I wanted, I ended up ordering the asparagus blackstone benedict. I love eggs benedict and I've been wanting to try Millionaire's bacon. So I thought that this would be the perfect dish for me to try. The moment the server placed my plate in front of me, my mouth watered. My meal looked gorgeous. You can tell that they took the time to plate the dish. Two poached eggs over grilled asparagus, strips of Millionaire's bacon, slices of tomato, and an English muffin. Hollandaise sauce is drizzled over the poached eggs with paprika and dried parsley flakes sprinkled on top of the sauce. This meal comes with a side of herb roasted potato medley and fruit. It is absolutely amazing. I really recommend trying this dish if you like eggs benedict. The strips of Millionaire's bacon are thick cut and glazed with brown sugar and red and black pepper. It's slightly sweet and salty and it's probably one of the best bacon I've ever tasted, but a warning, it is fatty. Thick cut bacon is usually lined with thick fat. I'm not a fan of fat. However, I think it's really worth trying since this is what Sweet Maple is known for. The flavor is amazing. The poached eggs isn't salty so it's the perfect complement to the bacon. The herb roasted potatoes were a little too salty for my taste. Actually, some potatoes were more salty than others. However, what I did love about this medley was that they didn't use just one type. They combined various potatoes including sweet potato so you get to have a mixture of sweet, starchy, and salty. Yum. My friend ordered the Marnier French Toast, which is three wedges of french toast dipped in a citrusy batter and sprinkled with powdered sugar and cinnamon. It was topped with blueberries, strawberries, and slices of oranges. She also wanted to try Millionaire's bacon, so she made it a millionaire's meal by adding two slices of millionaire's bacon and two eggs for an extra $5. Considering that two slices of millionaire's bacon as a side is $6.75, this was totally worth it. The service was great. The moment we sat down, server after server came by our table to ask if we wanted to order something to drink. While we were eating, someone constantly came by to refill our glasses of water or to ask if everything was to our liking. I would definitely return to try some of their other dishes. HOWEVER, I'm glad I decided to try this place out. I ordered the Norwegian Eggs Benedict which consisted of smoked salmon sandwiched between an English muffin and a poached egg smothered in their specialty Hollandaise sauce. The salmon was nicely complimented with capers and spinach. Every ingredient used in this dish tasted unbelievably good especially since I'm not a breakfast lover. The spinach was a little slimy, but, you soon forget about that ooey-gooey feeling after taking a bite. The dish came along with a medley of roasted potatoes. For me, the crispier the potatoes, the better. Unfortunately, some of the chunks on my plate were big and tasted a bit mushy and uncooked. The smaller pieces had more flavor too since the seasoning complimented the potatoes and not the other way around; which I wasn't a big fan of. Mariner French toast :4/5: slices of bread dunked in a eggy mixture and it was so soft and tasty. It was perfectly soaked through so it was a bit eggy. It went really well with the millionaires bacon. One of the better French toasts I've had. Swedish pancakes :2/5: they are nothing like other Swedish pancakes I've had. These were a bit tough to cut through and over cooked. They were thin but tasted nothing like the ones I've had at IHOP and millbrae pancake house. Sad to say, I was sorely disappointed. I came to Sweet Maple for a casual brunch with a group of friends. It's actually rather an adorable little place that seems a little less hoity-toity than Kitchen Story. I ordered the Blackstone Benedict because it came with the Millionaire's bacon - as it was advertised in a frame near the door. After having tried the millionaire's bacon at Kitchen Story, I really wanted to see how Sweet Maple served it. It was delicious: thoroughly enjoyed my dish, though the asparagus and cherry tomatoes did not lend themselves to being stacked very easily for perfect bite-sized proportions. I also ordered the passion iced tea - which sounds good, but its actually pretty whatever. I would not recommend it. My companions also seemed happy with their meal, but expressed dissatisfaction because of the high prices. For five people, each ordering a dish and a drink on the side (non-alcoholic), we spent around $130. Broken down, its averages about 26 a person, which, in all honesty isn't that horrible. But when you're on a broke college student budget, its definitely not the business. My recommendation if you are also a broke college student - don't come here unless you're balling. The menu has both breakfast and lunch foods, but you can order both at the time I was there. I ordered 2 eggs and applewood bacon. I started with a chai latte which was smooth, and had a slight cinnamon aroma, and the perfect amount of cinnamon flavor. I was all "what's so special about this bacon?" then I took a bite. YUMMERS) and I went with the Frisco Scramble. The portions were huge and when it came I thought, "no way am I finishing this." Dropping by with a friend the other week, noticing the make up of the staff, and seeing what they had on the menu, I immediately realized that we had probably walked in on Kitchen Story's sister restaurant (which was later confirmed by our waitress). So, with that said, my positive thoughts on Kitchen Story apply to Sweet Maple as well, as their offerings are pretty similar. In fact, I think the menus are almost mirrored, with slight variations in flavor/presentation on similar dishes: for example, while both places offer French toast, the Grand Marnier French toast I ordered at Sweet Maple was a more typical presentation of the dish, rather than the deep fried (delicious) monstrosity that you'd find at their sister restaurant, but yet, equally delicious, especially when paired with the Millionaire's bacon. Now, however, unless you're really keen on the variations that Sweet Maple has to offer, you're better off hitting up Kitchen Story if you're not too fond of waiting. Based on my many visits to Kitchen Story, and my single visit to Sweet Maple, the waits at the latter are significantly longer. But, arguably, there's more wandering that can be done in this part of town than in Castro, so... ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Neither super spacious nor super cramped, but just enough space that accessibility shouldn't be a huge problem. Came here a couple of times this year, bringing friends and family. Everyone I brought loved it! I wish I could remember everything we've ordered, but I had no complaints on the dishes I had. The line to dine here is longer than ever on the weekends. Patrons now have to wait outside as the restaurant needed more room for tables. So you really need to get there early if you want a table right away. read more

One of my favorite brunch places (and I've been to A LOT of brunch places!). My favorite was a benedict with peppers and a chipotle hollandaise and I'm sad I don't see it on the menu anymore. This was the first place I had millionaire's bacon and I loved it to so much! read more

Cute place for breakfast and the staff was so lovely! I had the millionaire's melt and the organic soy lavender! My husband had the bulgogi scramble. Both were really delicious :) read more
