They have an extensive menu at Tea 4 U. They have Thai tea and milk tea. However, the cashier told me that they were unable to make Tiger tea, which is just half Thai and half milk tea. They insisted that they couldn't do it, which left a sour taste in my mouth. I've never been to a boba place that has refused that request. The boba and drink itself was good. T4 is great, in general, but especially this Palo Alto location that has consistently delicious green milk teas and healthy servings of that grass jelly topping that I crave so much. I've never experienced too long of a wait here and it's kept really clean and tidy every time I've been here. Also, unlike other T4 locations in the Bay, this Palo Alto store ALWAYS has egg puffs available! If you haven't had their egg puffs before or have never had egg puffs before at all, I cannot recommend them enough. They are wonderful little snacks and about as addictive as crack once you start eating them. I came here on a Thursday night, and service was quick - I ordered and got my drink within 5 minutes. Some of their menu options are very unique and quite different from the options that other boba places offer. I decided to just stick with the basics: Jasmine green milk tea ($4.25), add boba (+$0.55), and sub soy milk (+$0.55). I requested a 30% sweetness level, and it was perfect for me. The tapioca balls were cooked well and just chewy enough. I really wanted to try the egg puffs, but I thought $6.25 was a bit pricey since many places in the Bay Area sell egg puffs for around $3-$5. Definitely better than its other sister locations but the downside is, since it's a smaller location their menu is limited to drinks only :( I miss my crispy fried foods lol [[DRINK QUALITY]] I visited T4 a couple of times prior to Gong Cha's opening. The milk teas and cream drinks are of the same quality-- average/mediocre. Comparatively now though to GC, it's not as impressive. The tea base is weaker and the cream is lighter as well. If you like light drinks, T4 may be YOUR Cup of Tea haha. However, I like the hard hitters in tea and cream taste like GC and Sharetea. I tried the Oolong Cream and Milk Tea and they were decent. Pearls were chewy but not overly sweet or hardened. [[LOCATION/AMBIANCE]] T4 is closer to the Stanford campus since it's right on University Avenue next to Pizza My Heart and Sushi Tomo. However parking is almost nearly IMPOSSIBLE! Good luck...I usually find parking down near Alma. The place is quaint and small with a couple of scattered tables and chairs. If it gets busy though, it'd be difficult to concentrate and study there with the massive crowd. I had really wanted to like this place since we came here on my suggestion as I like T4 in Fremont a lot. I recommended the royal tea (清茶) to my friend as the base for the milk tea. The cashier and servers claimed they can't do that, shchi is pretty silly, since you literally switch out the regular black tea in milk tea for the royal tea. But ok, if that's their way, I'll let it slide. I ordered the jadeite royal tea, no sugar no ice with fig jelly (愛玉) got my tea, and when I sipped it, I found no jelly. My friends passed my drink around but no one could identify any fig jelly within the drink. I took it up to the counter to show the guy, and the guy tried to point to a single floating piece of jelly in there, claiming it was in there. I was not too happy at this point, but thankfully the manger turned over and said, "just make her a new one". she remade the drink for me, which I appreciated, and this time there was definitely jelly in there. Parking: lots of parking garage and street parking is available. During 8AM-5PM the limit is only 2 hours. After 5PM, there's not limit. Even if you partk a few blocks down, it's good to walk and see the sights. Refreshment: Taro Milk Tea with regular Boba. It's nothing to brag about, but I love the not-so-sweet factor without asking for it. BOGO: get their t$ stamp card, for every 10 drinks, it's a free SMALL size for you. LOL. It's written out on their little window near the register, I guess a lot of folks have complained that the sizes were not specified. So hey-o! Free is the small size only. WiFi: yes, there is free WiFi if you don't want to talk to your friends around the table with you. Restroom: Dude... you go down a hallway on your right, and then the rest room is on your right in the little alcove. It's kinda embarrassing to leave T4 and have the employee of T-Mobile see you walking around with the measuring spoon key to the restroom, and they're just there at the window watching you walk to and from in the hallway. ** it's clean, but always stuffy in here. They give it to you with a coating of oreo cookie crumbs on top, to make it look like dirt at the top of a plant pot, hence the name. For the 2 bubble tea places within walking distance of my office in downtown Palo Alto, T4 definitely beats out Gong Cha! (And the Asians in my office agree.) I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but for what Palo Alto has to offer, this is pretty good. Lots of "toppings", including mini boba, coconut jelly (pretty hard strips), pudding, etc. THE COST: $4.35 for a regular milk tea. THE WAIT: None around 3:30pm on a Thursday afternoon. Though a huge line formed right after we ordered. THE SERVICE: Very nice & patient. The girl at the counter also gave me a small sample of the coconut jelly when I asked what it was. I changed my mind right after ordering when I realized my Rose tea was not a mlik tea. Even though they had just made it, they still made a new cup for me. * Rose Milk Tea + Boba - 4 stars I got 80% ice, 80% sweetness. This was just right! I loved the refreshing rose flavor. The boba was nice and chewy. A little inconsistent (some were maybe overcooked or had sat for a while) but still way better than Gong Cha. Next time: Ginger Milk Tea, or Royal Milk Tea! Mint green interior, T4 has a clean and fresh feel. The menu was quite extensive and I decided to go with the rose bubble tea. A hint of scented rose flavor, 30% sweetness, accompanied by nata jelly, refreshingly satisfying all at the same time. Came here on a recommendation that this place was awesome for bubble tea, and having tried and number of places since I moved to the Bay Area, wanted to see how this place was! There was no line, and the service was very quick! Not too expensive, and they make it very clear on the board how to order and how easy it is to customize what you want. All great, except that the person making the drinks is not the person taking your order, and so none of my personalized requests made it to my drink (even tho there was a sticker on the cup with the requests), and I was handed a drink I didn't particularly want or enjoy. I'm diggin' the new spot! I mean theres nothing appealing about their name of the store or even the outside appearance of this store but it's got it's own flavor. The inside of this place is spacious, clean, and very simple in terms of color; white walls & tables and turquoise outlines. The menu is clear with most of the teas being about $3-4. I ordered their pearl milk tea with tapioca pearls which tasted pretty good considering its all mainly syrup thats shaken up with cold ice and milk lol. I had no problems with it; I actually liked it a lot. T4 is mainly known for their custom milk teas and their house made egg puffs. Their egg puffs can be sniffed from the store front which smells amazing (I thought it was Vietnamese pan dan waffles at first). I got a potted milk tea with pearls, which is one of their newer items. It is basically oolong milk tea with oreo crumbs on top, so it looks like a potted plant. It is not just a gimmick: the oreo crumbs actually enhance the flavor and texture of the drink. The taste of the oolong was strong (they used the right amount of milk, not too much or it would cover up the taste of the tea), and the pearls were perfect. Prices are a little bit on the expensive side, but worth it for what you get. The store is spacious and cozy. There are several modern white tables where you can sit and relax. 90/100 read more

this is a popular chain in Taiwan. I haven't seen another one outside of Palo Alto. the tea is okay, they have some interesting flavors that aren't self-explanatory from the name, so you have to ask the order-taker about them. but it takes forever to place an order and another forever to actually be served the tea so the lines are really long and then there are a lot of people standing around waiting for their drinks to come up. and the music is uncomfortably loud. maybe they want to discourage people from sitting inside at the tables. I'd like to think that I didn't graduate from college thaaat long ago, but when you're surrounded but a bunch of students, it reminds you that you're not as young as you think you are -_- This is apparently a college hangout since it's right next to the Stanford campus. I came here because I needed to get some work done and they had free wi-fi which is a total bonus, though a bunch of loud kids hanging out while you're trying to work make you think it's not the most ideal spot to be productive. Aside from my life rant, I got the Earl Grey Milk Tea which is supposedly what they're known for (according to one of the girls behind the counter), and I have to admit it was pretty good.
