One of my favorite boba places in SD. They have the Japanese purikura photobooths here! It ranges from $6-$10 (I think!) depending on the type of booth you use. The downside is that all purikuras are in Japanese only so it's easy to screw up on editing your photos. As far as the boba, it's not bad. I usually get the milk tea and their nutella crêpe. There's plenty of seating. They have magazines and board games for the customers to use. Parking is easy since they have a lot located in the back. read more

Its a mixed review for me. I like this place for a chill night with friends or family. They have free wifi, board games, fun photo booths, and machine games. My usual go to drinks are the honeydew or passion fruit green tea, hot milk tea or match green tea. My favorite drink addings include aloe Vera jelly, star jelly, egg pudding and grass jelly. The downside to this place is that it can be overly crowded and There were times where my drinks that i usually get one be overly sweet or overly bitter. There are inconsistencies. Sharon, why no love for Tea n More? This is a great place to get work done on the weekends! You can camp out at a table for hours at a time, there are reasonably priced drinks, and nice little snacks (fried tofu is my favorite) and a couple of full-meal options if you need to work through a meal. Some of the tables are tall enough that you can stand while working, which is great to avoid endless sitting. If I were in high school this would be a great place to hang out in the evenings. Lots of fun drinks, comfy sofas, board games, sticker booths, and Asian-language comic books and magazines. The underage version of a bar? My only complaint is the wi-fi. It isn't speedy at the best of times, but when the place gets crowded it often ceases to function. At all. Very frustrating. They really need to get some more bandwidth! read more

I come here a lot just to study or to grab a quick meal. It gets pretty packed & loud in here so I try not to come here after 8pm ish. Theres a lot of students studying here or those people you can find at comic cons.. My man and I usually get the curry combo, beef bowl, or mapo tofu along with drinks. Their food is actually tasty. For our drinks, I usually order peach green tea & my man orders chai tea or milk tea with pudding. Their drinks are not too sweet, perfect for me :) I think you can choose either regular or a large for the drink. Yesterday, I was pretty disappointed and upset at one of the staff working last night. She wasn't professional; made few mistakes and offended me & my man. The manager or the owner apologized and handled the situation smoothly. I just want this place to do well in the food industry, because theres so many competitors around them. So I've only been here once, but the impression I got was quite good. I ordered a half sugar lychee rose green tea with boba and it had the right level sweetness for me while still being flavorful, and was not very expensive (4 dollars flat for a large). The interior of the place is clean, and pleasant enough, although you can trip on the threshold between the tile and wood floor if you're not careful (that was almost me). They also have some claw grabbers, photo booths, and board games. Plenty of tables and the booths are comfortable as well. On the Tuesday afternoon when I stopped by, there were just a handful of people inside, but I can envision this place being packed during peak hours. Overall, the tea is good, the food certainly SMELLS good, granting that I didn't order anything (and the menu has a decent variety) and service is friendly and fast. Plus, they're open late. Though the drinks were on the cheaper side, it is obvious they powder their drinks. We ordered a regular plain milk tea and Thai milk tea with boba. The boba was soft and sweet, but I prefer them to be more chewy. The drinks were very sweet but the ice cubes took up most of the drink! It was unbelievable!! I have been in mourning since Green Tea Café closed on Convoy. Yeah, the place had some ratty couches and way too much general crap around, but their boba was delicious. And I'm totally over all the 14-year-old Louis Vuitton wearing hipsters and two-day wait at Tapioca Express. I like the casual, unpretentious, cozy atmosphere where things don't quite match and you can check out board games at the register and lounge all Saturday afternoon without anyone giving you grief. It seems like a fun hangout place for high school or college kids. Last time I was here looked like it was a Lolita meetup night. Mediocre customer service. The cashier was standing in front of me but I wasn't sure if he was ready to take my order since there was no eye contact, so I had to stare until I had his attention. Odd. Ordered the sweet potato milk tea with boba. Mistake. Every flavor they have here is from some artificial syrup or powder (so far as I have tried). I didn't think it was possible to have artificial sweet potato flavoring, but apparently it is. It was a pleasant, sweet flavor but I would never have guessed sweet potato. The boba was not chewy enough; nor did it have a honey flavor. Thank goodness I was very hungry or I wouldn't have enjoyed my drink as much. Call me crazy, but I think this place has THE BEST MILK TEA in San Diego!!! Considering that we have a plethora of options... from Tea Station, Up2U cafe, Tapioca Express, Boba Time, etc... This is a compliment. The popcorn chicken snack is pretty tasty as well. It has a pretty big space so there is plenty of tables to chose from. You'll find a lot of UCSD kiddies here. However, this is not the ideal place to study, because it's pretty loud most of the time. They also finally added a bathroom inside, so you don't have to make the trek outside to take care of business... Located next to a new-looking 99 Ranch Market, this cafe (as opposed to the thai restaurant we just ate at) had an actual Yelp sticker on the door. Our stay was short since we only came in to pick up some boba, but my first impression was that this place was big; very spacious for a boba joint. It was sort of cozy without the claustrophobia. There was a square, tiled, open space in front of the counter that I mistook for a dance floor. There was a shelf of manga in the back, and wide variety of folks were camped out in there; not only asian students with varying degrees of english fluency, but parents with kids. Who knew? The fact we went on a Tuesday night might have something to do with it. Free WiFi is offered and that's always a plus. As for my drink, my boba milk tea tasted like I thought it would taste (which is a good thing) but maybe boba-ball quality control was having an off night because my cup had a colony of tapioca pearls that stubbornly banded together into a huge clump, refusing to succumb to my straw. I gave up and threw the cup, along with the boba clump, away. I hate it when tapioca pearls unionize!! In fact, last time I was there, the service was even faster than I remember it being in the past. Boba cravings are real. After craving boba for days, I decided to come to my favorite boba hangout from back in the day to indulge in some tapioca goodness. Coconut is always my go to for milk tea, but I decided to go with the Thai tea flavor because Thai tea has become a favorite drink of mine. The flavor was exactly what I was hoping for, and the boba was a good texture. I also got the spicy popcorn chicken and was thoroughly impressed. Good quality chicken, and the seasoning was evenly dispersed. This place is so popular! Fortunately, they're good at getting people through the line- very efficient. They have everything nostalgically Asian that you'd expect for a convoy boba shop (your huge selection of mangas, a photo sticker machine reminiscent of the high school cue! outings, nonstop EDM bumping in the background, oh and boba!) 2. I have yet to see another place with more customer diversity, in my many study seshs here I've seen a bridge competition amongst upper-middle aged Caucasian women, Asians in their 20s who are exceptional at anime drawing, teenagers who came back from comic con and are all cosplayed out.. I can go on but you get the gist. It's an interesting crowd and from the people watching standpoint it's quite fascinating. 3. Their popcorn chicken!: lightly seasoned, fried to a golden perfection and not overly oily like they make them in most boba places - dip them in cool ranch and voila! You've got yourself the perfect study snack :) 4. Takoyakis!: I'll say better than some of the Japanese restaurants I've had these in: nice and soft in the center with bits and pieces of octopus fritters, while remaining crispy on the outside. Eat these hot! I won't comment on the other foods here that I haven't had the chance to try. Drinks wise they're ...pretty mediocre, do request them to take it easy on the ice because it gets watery after a short while. The regular milk teas run on the sweeter side; green tea yogurt is pretty good if you do less ice; I've heard good things about the lychee slush as well. You get a good selection of add-ons -- my favorite is the rainbow jelly which goes well with anything fruity! I've been coming to Tea N More for years. I have tried practically every boba shop in Clairemont and on convoy, and if you know San Diego then you know that is a lot. I'm going to start by saying that this is certainly not the best boba in town. It also isn't the best tea in town. However it is the most standard boba shop I have ever experienced. The drinks aren't astonishing and they also aren't terrible. It's typical run of the mill boba for when you get the craving. A positive is they have a TON of flavors! I enjoy coming here to try new teas and mixes, even if it isn't the best cup on the street. The saving grace is the food. They sell meals and snacks that are better than what most other boba shops offer. The crispy chicken snack is spicy in a fun and forgiving way, served with ranch. The tofu snack (vegan, risk of cross contamination) is breaded beautifully and has a garlic sauce with a spicy kick that I get several times a month. They have curry potato croquettes that are to die for. If you've never had one, do yourself a favor. There are curry rice meals, crepes, curly fries, this place has a lot of variety. I think the reason most people come here is the ambience. You can find lots of students (myself included) studying at the many wooden tables. They've remodeled in the last year and the store looks much sleeker and more inviting. There's a corner of the store dedicated to gachapon, claw machines, and photo booths. It's a hot spot for clubs, meet ups, and a wider age range than expected. You can trade an Id for games to play with your friends (they used to have Jenga which was always fun to watch others fail at). In the corner is a screen that says what music is playing and often it's the lo-fi study beats girl and her cat which I have zero complaints about. Overall, it's just a boba shop. If you're coming for an incredible cup of tea try camellia down the street. If you want show stopping boba, try kung fu tea a little further down the street. But if you want a kiwi green tea with grass jelly and some goddamn curly fries while you cry at an essay until one in the morning? This is the place. read more

Boba has the right consistency and sweetness, the green tea is not the matcha Japanese green tea, but more like a jasmine tea, which gives the drink a very flowery flavor and aroma. Hm... AND YOU MUST ORDER THE POPCORN CHICKEN!! for $3.50, that's the bomb! Way better than going to KFC. It's hot, crispy, has a good flavor from the marinade, comes with ranch dressing which is delicious, and the portion is good. I was full just from eating the popcorn chicken. I come here because of the free internet and the fact that they don't give you dirty looks for buying one drink yet loitering inside for hours. I always get the coffee milk tea with boba. They are very inconsistent with the flavor; sometimes it's so strong that it keeps me up until 4 in the morning, other times like RIGHT NOW it tastes like all milk. Most importantly, the boba itself is too mushy and soft in texture. The beef bowl is pretty good, though. It's very similar to Yoshinoya's beef bowl, which I quite like as well. The beef is a bit fatty, so beware if you're not into that kind of thing. And to formally conclude this review: boba mushy, but beef bowl, free internet, no raised eyebrows, and magazine for reading material good. P.S. This place is NASTY in terms of food and drinks. The Green Tea tastes like soap water and all other drinks gives me a stomachache. My friend ordered food and it's crap for $10. I wanted to try their Crispy Chicken cuz I love the ones from TapEx on Convoy but to my disappointment it had a really nasty taste covering the chicken. It's like they powdered the chicken in dirt or cooked it on something really dirty cuz it looked black underneath the seasoning too. My friend tried the fried fish sticks and it was soggy from the oils and had the same weird taste the Crispy Chicken had. My tongue ended up feeling weird from the food at the end too. This place is good for gathering if you want a boba place that is not busy. However, if you want good boba and food; go to Tea Station or Tapioca Express. This place is pretty standard boba. I ordered the almond milk tea with aloe. The milk tea was pretty sweet (I should have asked for 1/2 sugar) but I did thoroughly enjoy the aloe! They sliced the cubes fairly big so the aloe pieces were chewy, just like I like it. Also tried the avocado shake and it was too icy and way too sweet. It was like a dessert drink. I don't think they use real avocado either... What's great about this place is the ample parking, free wifi, the sticker photo booths, games to check out, magazines to read, and (if you can read chinese) they have books too! This place has seen better days. The owner is still the same but the place looks like it has been used. The outside of the place looks great. Catchy imaging and fun looking place to go to. Once you step in, it a good 70% is table and chairs with couches and the 30% is claw machine stuff and photo booths. Looks fun. I usually come here to study and enjoy a drink with my friends and have been coming for 10 years now. When you sit down, the chairs are wobbly and tables are uneven. Upon closer inspection of the couch, it looks like they have been sat on about a million times. Things need to be modernized. The tall tables don's match the smaller ones. Some are square and some are round. Some are dark colored, some are glossy brown. The floor feels kinda creaky. The food is mediocre. Place for sure has gone down in quality. I usually order the curry popcorn rice but it looks like the deep fry a chicken patty and cut it up. Food tastes just ok here.
