This place is not a high end tea/boba place, but the environment is great! My friends and I love to come here to study and hangout together. They offer a variety of drinks AND snacks for a great price. This spot is a go-to to chill with buddies or to study solo. I wouldn't recommend this spot if you're looking for top quality Boba and food, because there are definitely better spots around; However, the drinks taste just as you would expect to taste, and the snacks are good for a fair price. I have to say, this is one of my favorite study spots in town! They've got a large open area with lots of tables and seating with lots of charging ports all around:) Unlike some of your typical coffee shops that blast loud music, they play some soft jams so it'll be perfect for that background studying music:) I also love that they not only have various drinks and desserts here but also lots of yummy food and appetizers!! I've tried the beef sukiyaki and chicken teriyaki bowls and they were both really good!! The popcorn chicken here is not your typical crunchy nuggets with lots of batter on the outside but has more of a thin, light, crispy coating over the chicken pieces which I personally prefer more than the popcorn chicken that is covered in batter. Beware because they put spicy powder on it which makes it pretty spicy so if you don't like spicy foods I would recommend to ask for mild!! As for the drinks, I'm not gonna lie, the boba here isn't the best because it is a bit more firm and not as chewy so if you're looking for some amazing boba this might not be the best place to go to. They can be reserved and we were fortunate to have the table as a group had reserved the table for a later time. They have a good selection of foods and drinks to buy while you play. There are the purikura and crane machines which has always been fun BUT when getting drinks, it's fairly basic. You can't go wrong with the strawberry milk tea and the same with the white hot chocolate. I've had their several of their smoothies and they were average. The almond milk tea was disappointing as the flavor runs flat. It's almost like you're drinking heated up almond milk. Studying might be a bit hard unless your ok in a loud setting. Since tea n more is more spacious and offers more seating than other shops, people visit Tea n More in PACKS and sometimes groups. It's good to host a game day or an putting with some friends. So watch out if you want to study in peace. It typically is dull around dinner time. One of my most special spots in San Diego. For years, I've had tea and coffee here as I wrote my book and played games with friends. It's a cozy little space to recharge after a tiring day. They have a huge manga collection and a variety of board games you can borrow. The only thing I find disappointing is the food menu. As a vegan, I can only eat their fries. The other dish with tofu is awful and barely edible. They do have tons of tea options. I love that if you take your own cup, they not only happily serve you in it, but give you a half a dollar discount per beverage. Great boba. Great vibe. P.S. I used to work for a boba shop for 5 years and have had boba from different states and all over like Japan, Korea, Thailand, China and France and this place is one of the better ones I've had. The tea quality is good and the boba is a little smaller but still chewy and not overly sweet. They only have one size (maybe a 20oz?) But they have unique flavors that I havent seen and obviously the classic like Thai, taro, and jasmine. They also do military and student discount which is nice . Their study are is spacious and most people there are students so its relatively quiet. They only lost a star because I tried their crepe and it was just bleh to me. This place is comically bad. My Nutella crepe was overcooked and crunchy, then doused with Hersheys syrup and finally topped with the smallest amount of canned whip cream. Next the Thai tea tasted off, not in a good way, my daughter tried some without my opinion on it first and she was taken aback, "what is that?" It's supposed to be Thai tea. The staff are young, tired and lazy. Stopped in after dinner for drinks and games. I can't remember the last time I was in here but not much has changed. It was packed on a Saturday night. We ended up sharing the bench seating with a few people in the back. We rented out uno to play, the cards were really beat up but it was still playable. I got their taro milk tea and my friend got their honeydew milk tea. The prices here are reasonable for the size you get. The taro is powdered. It was good but there are some other places with richer flavors. They also have food options here like crepes or their fried chicken pieces. There is seating all around but it gets packed. They have photo booths in the back and claw game. You can rent out games too or bring your own. I saw some people with their laptops studying. WiFi is free here! "why didn't they bother to mention that when we ordered it..." - not nice. 2. TAKOYAKI $4.25: You get 6 per order. It was crispy and tasted like takoyaki! The flavors were in sync and I enjoyed it. My bf said it tasted undercooked. 3. PASSION FRUIT GREEN TEA $2.75: taste just like the Sam Woo passion fruit jelly drink but with an added green tea flavor. The passion tea green tea drink here isn't as sweet. The passion fruit flavoring they use though is exactly the same used at Sam Woo. 4. LYCHEE SMOOTHIE $3.75: A bit too sweet, but not too bad, enjoyed it more than the other drinks. 5. HOT SESAME MILK TEA $3: not very good, tasted watered down and not as milky as I would like. The only reason why I would come here is because it's a great place to socialize, study, play games, or to appease some Asian back scratch. I definitely don't come here because their Boba is anything special or their food. This is pretty much one of the only few places I can find with really good rose milk tea which is my favorite boba drink. Order it with strawberry eggs (it's boba filled with strawberry flavored syrup I believe) and you're golden! First time I tried strawberry eggs was when my boyfriend ordered it. I was a bit skeptical and curious and man did the first initial burst surprise me! It was really good though! I think it comes in yogurt and lychee flavor as well. I also recommend their takoyaki! It always comes out perfect every single time. Sometimes there's a line, but it's not that long - maybe 4-5 people ahead of me. Originally wanted jasmine green tea with boba, but the boba wasn't ready yet. The guy told me it'd be 20 minutes for boba. I had errands to run and an appointment so I didn't want to wait. So I ordered jasmine green tea with aloe vera and green apple jelly. Also ordered some takoyaki. Took a few minutes for the drink and the takoyaki came out a few minutes after. The drink was okay. It would have been nice to have been able to try the boba. The takoyaki came out nice and fresh, tasted good. The decor is cool. It has some comfy looking sofas. There are some Japanese photo booths and some crane machines. This place looks like a high school / college hang out heaven. They have free WiFi. Stopped in here previously to grab a bite to eat with my wife when her office was around the corner. My son's game was nearby and I remembered about it, so we stopped in for a quick bite to eat. They mostly have tea drinks with or without boba. There's plenty of seating and free wifi. Food menu was pretty limited, but worth it for the price. I had a beef sukiyaki bowl while my son had mapo tofu plate. Both were worth while for under $7 each. The tofu plate came with an iced green tea. Pretty decent place to grab a bite or some boba. For me, I am a easy to please as I been drinking Jasmine Green tea by default. I find the wait time to be faster than the E & Drink but it might also be because of the different things I order. So far I have ordered a chicken teriyaki which was made pretty quickly less than 10 minutes wait. Today when I ordered my drink was made while I was paying for the drink. Had no problem with customer service a it was always fast for me excluding rush hour. During Fridays around 12-1pm it is pretty empty but thats what I like about the place. The music is pretty much up to the people behind the counter. Its randomized but I like the eclectic variety - sometimes its a good song, one I dont recognize, or one I dont like. If you come in when its not their rush hour its a pretty relaxing place - kind of reminds me of Starbucks, only difference is the music and the seats. I had to deduct a few stars because of the cleaniness. I could see that they do clean the tables but for some reason there were so many food bugs at the seating area nearby the manga. My guess is there is a spill or something was not thrown out correctly. I moved to a seat closer nearby the door and had no problem. On the perk side, sign up for the fivestar card. Its free and you get some benefits after using it to accumulate points. Think of it as the starbucks card but you could use this in some other places like the boba place inside Zion or the Tajima Ramen place too. read more

But an adventure into Tea N More reveals a section of arcade games, claw machines, and whatever you call those machines that take quarters and shoot out cheap toys/stickers. I love it. Then there's the really old 7up fridge that says "you like it...it likes you". This place is a time capsule of an arcade from yesteryear. Bring a dollar, stick it in the coin machine, and pretend you're a five year old. But it also happens to have delicious boba tea and decent food. The Thai Tea and Lavender are my personal faves. This cafe was a perfect place for me to work on finals. The raspberry green tea with boba was great- I got it 3/4 sweet because most boba places' drinks are a tad too sweet for me. I don't like writing bad reviews during these times but this place never fails to disappoint me. The first time I went the tea was decent but the boba was completely bland. When I went yesterday the boba was decent but the Thai tea tasted like a campfire. They either didn't do any quality control and didn't taste their teas after making them or they just didn't want to throw out a bad batch of burnt tea to save money. Also their "black sugar milk tea" tasted like almond milk tea. Didn't have a single hint of black sugar and the first red flag was how light the drink looked. Covid safety wise they do have social distance markers, but they also have a "waiting area" with tables and chairs where people can sit at but they don't wipe down after. They also didn't sanitize the iPad between customers or have hand sanitizer available next to the register. Final thing is they still let customers take their own straws out of the container rather than handing them out to each customer to avoid unnecessary contamination. Overall definitely not coming back. Tried giving it another shot and was not worth it at all. You're better off going to the 99 Ranch in the next lot and getting OoTea. read more

The waitresses very rude as well, there were two people working, one guy and one girl. If your store is trying to make a political statement, you should have a explanation of why. I asked her in the most respectful way and she said, oh I don't know? The guy came over and said, well most boba shops don't offer law enforcement discounts. I know indeed that that is not true because TEA STATION and other local boba shops with much better boba offers it. Of all of the tapioca tea places in the Clairemont area, Tea N More seems the most differentiated. Offering more than just the normal fare, books, vending, and other homely offerings make this place a welcoming escape from ordinary options like Tapioca Express, and their parking is better too. For this review, I decided to order the almond milk tea with boba to use as my yardstick. I really enjoyed the subtle and silky flavors of their version of this popular flavor. I'm not sure if the use a liquid or powder mix to make their almond milk tea, but it was nice not having to sip through chunks of powder like at Tea Station. The boba also had the proper texture and taste, and provided just the right amount of chewy and firmness. Though I don't often find myself making Tea N More my first stop when I crave boba, it's definitely one of the better and more hip spots to kick back and sip some tea.
