I love country music, carbs, and steak, and Texas Roadhouse has all three in spades. This place is a great option if one is looking for a lively place to have lunch or dinner. Call ahead or go online to get on the waiting list before you arrive, because this place can be packed. My husband and I gave our friend the option of Outback or Texas Roadhouse, and because he hadn't been to either (what?!), he did some sleuthing online and found a Business Insider article on why Texas Roadhouse was better in a head-to-head competition. This is the only Texas Roadhouse in northern Nevada, so I think it has a more special feel to it than Outback. On our most recent visit, our steaks were each cooked perfectly to the medium rare that we ordered. The free buttery bread rolls and cinnamon butter were delicious, and our server Amanda did a great job making sure she kept the rolls coming and our waters refilled. My husband's and my share of the bill was $32 before tip for our two steaks and sides, which is very reasonable. I might be corny, but I love that the server brings out the saddle stand for anyone having a birthday to sit on while they coordinate the nearby tables giving a big "yeehaw" for the birthday human. I also love the short "signal" song that tells the servers that it's line-dancing time soon. Every half hour, the servers dance to a crowd-pleasing classic contemporary country song. Tracy Byrd's "Watermelon Crawl" and Dierks Bentley's "What Was I Thinkin'" were the two songs played during our most recent dinner visit: excellent toe-tapping tunes. Take Texas Roadhouse for what it is, it's not some fine dining steakhouse, but a mainstream chain that serves steaks at an affordable price. It does do that well, so well, it's very popular most evenings. Here's a trick: call in check in, and you'll be placed in line just like you were there waiting. So, when you get here, you'll just check in and then be seated right away, before all those people waiting in the lobby ... just go right in! Pro tip: if you wanted steaks, you can pick out what actual steak you want in the butchers window. Pick a nice looking marbled steak and that's the one you'll be served! Soon as you're seated, you'll get those wonderful fluffy buttery buns with a buttery spread. Yep, these are all you can eat! But save room for dinner! Service is so bubbly and fun, but I suppose they're trained to be. The food comes out in a timely manner. The steak quality here is USDA Choice, so better than a casino coffee shop steak, but no it won't be like a $60 steak at a prime steakhouse. Conversely, the prices aren't gonna break the bank either. First time eating at Texas Roadhouse. Honestly, the food quality leaves a bit to be desired. It's basically like Outback, Chili's TGI Fridays level food. Ribs were extremely dry. Sirloin steak was cooked well. Appetizer combo with jalapeño cheese bites, potato skins and fried pickles , well, everything needed to stay in the fryer for another minute or two. The atmosphere is fun, though. There were lots of birthdays going on. The fresh dinner rolls with cinnamon butter were very good. The service was fast and our server was terrific. She checked with us often and we never wanted for anything. Prices are reasonable. My daughter and I enjoyed our dinners and took home a burger combo for mom which was delicious. They did forget to add the chili we ordered on my wife's loaded fries, but that was the only miss. Good value for money. Good family place. Would go again. read more

I don't know it is about this place. It takes forever to get a table, the place is kind of semi-organized chaos, there are lots of screaming kids and noise, but we love going there. It's the food dummy. Steaks are always perfect, flavorful and perfectly prepared. Service is usually pretty good; food comes out fast and is moderately priced. Can't really go wrong if you don't mind the staff singing and line dancing in the aisles occasionally. My wife likes it because they have different portion sizes. She gets a small cut of salmon, I always go for the filet, we also get a small Caesar salad and a drink or two. Not especially generous drink pours, but you're not there for the drinking. Cost about $60 for two dinners and a couple drinks. So we'll keep going back, just for the food quality. Just be careful not to eat too many of the damn rolls, which are just fantastic, but you'll be too full. They know how to run a chain restaurant. read more

We celebrate my wife's birthday tonight at Roadhouse, from the time we set down till we left everything was perfect. Our waiter was Frankie and he was great, very entertaining and very detailed with our order. He made sure to offer us extra bread, more butter, asked if we wanted extra dressing for our salads. Made sure my wife's special request were followed because of her allergies with some spices. Frankie did a great job and made sure our dinner was perfect. With prices so high everywhere now a days Texas Roadhouse is an excellent deal. My steak was perfect as was my wife's salmon. Even the on duty manager made her rounds and stop by our table to check on us. So overall I highly recommend Texas Roadhouse, if you want a special deal get there before 6pm for their early bird specials. read more

Starting with a word to the wise for the newby; Saturday nights are a zoo! That's what makes the wait an hour (or more). We called ahead and while there are no reservations, they claim those on the call-ahead list have a shorter wait. We ordered two Herb Crusted Chicken breast dinners. These boneless breasts were butterflied and seasoned. If your into big breasts, these won't work for you. In addition to itty-bitty, they seriously lacked in flavour. Order a steak! The buttered corn was exploding and the Tater skin appetizers swimming in cheese, butter and yumminess! Decent sized portions, too. Thumbs up on the iced tea and cola! What a great party! The servers line dance to their favorite country song. Next we see a small wooden saddle for the kid next to us. A birthday tradition here. After singing Happy Birthday, it was big screen football, football and more football. Our server's parents named him Giovanni. Since that doesn't fit on a name tag...everyone calls him GIO! This kid did a great job keeping the party cranked up. Drinks were filled and all the crazy extra stuff we asked for was delivered posthaste. We greased the palm nicely and will be looking for him next time. The prices are a bit high for us but the steaks are terrific, the show is outstanding fun and the rolls/cinnamon butter most addicting. So we splurge 2-3 times a year and make a night of it. I like this place for many reasons: cinnamon butter with the bread rolls is so good, always friendly, prompt service, and plenty of televisions making it a great place to watch sports events. I also recently discovered that you can still get a bag of peanuts delivered to your table (the buckets of peanuts haven't been back since Covid), just request one. :) And finally for anyone on weight watchers, we also discovered that the herb crusted chicken is 0 points (yes, zero) and is delicious!!! read more

When I think of this restaurant I think of a long wait for semi average food! I went here and I got exactly what I had expected and that was a long wait! I waited 65 minutes for a party of two. By minute 40 I asked the hostess (Faith) if I was checked in though their application and the response was very curt and rude. It could've just been a bad day for them, but this is not the first time that I have dealt with long waits here. I do enjoy the barbecued chicken and their sampler appetizer platter is awesome! Sometimes I come to this location and get a 2 star experience, and sometimes I get a 5 star experience. However, this place is consistently mediocre and the 5 stars are rare. My fiancé and I called ahead on a Thursday night, and we were told it would be a 60-65 minute wait (which is ridiculous for a Thursday night). I typically expect restaurants to under promise and over deliver when they give an expected wait time - but this wait time is actually for real. We arrived about 20 minutes after initially calling ahead, and waited a solid 45 minutes upon arrival for a table. My fiancé when to the hostess stand when we physically arrived to the restaurant to ensure that we were checked in. The hostess, Faith, was extremely rude. I am baffled. She lectured my fiancé about how we had not yet waited the full quoted time and should not be inquiring with her about our table yet. That wasn't even our question -- we were merely asking if we had successfully checked in given we had called ahead. As we walked away from the hostess stand, we could see her whispering to her co-hostess. Unprofessional. The food itself is pretty good. I find that there are very few items on the menu that I love, but the food is consistent. I love the herb crusted chicken and the loaded sweet potato. We always get the combo appetizer which has good variety. The bread rolls are to die for! Service was great and friendly. Food comes out in a timely manner. As I frequent Texas Roadhouse, I can always expect a consistent experience every time. Buns are great but watch out because the calories add up fast. I usually opt for the road kill which is usually always tender and sometimes I go for the sirloin which is usually a good choice. Because this is a chain there are a bunch of service points that I'm sure everyone has to hit and they hit them every time. Drinks are never empty, they always offer the opportunity to add on or upgrade, they ask your name and tell your theirs, it is hard to argue that service here isn't fantastic. Food is executed as well as Texas Roadhouse food is going to come out. It's not a $100 high-end steak, but you knew that already. For what this is, they do it really well. Only complaint is that one time the sweet potato was pretty undercooked but not a big deal. Love this place. read more

I hadn't been to Texas Roadhouse in almost 20 years as I had a bad experience at another location many years ago. I decided to give it another try with my family/kids. It was awesome! We called ahead and had our reservation. We still waited for atleast 15-20 minutes when we got there for our party to be called. Anyhow, 2 stars because I wasn't expecting that this place will be soooo packed and crowded! I get it because it's dinner time but not like this. Since we still have pandemic, I was expecting for their table to have atleast a table apart each party and not seated back to back. Glad they have that acrylic to cover the sides though. Whew! The restaurant is literally full! No 6 ft distancing or space anymore. People were lined up upfront when their party is called. Some were just there waiting (probably those who walked in and did not make the reservations). Don't get me wrong, the food is great and we devoured our orders since we didn't eat much the whole day having 2 celebrations to celebrate, birthday and a graduation. I just hope the management will think it through, that even though mask mandate was lifted, that they still follow Covid guidelines. *Also just a side note on their to go boxes, I hope they use eco-friendly made materials like paper made type of boxes instead of styrofoam* *Note on their bathroom - it's clean! Let me start off by saying Texas Roadhouse is absolutely my favorite place to come eat. From the food, the vibe and customer service; everything is on point!! We came here for my birthday dinner and everything was beyond expectations as always! My ribeye steak was cooked to perfection at medium rare, mashed potatoes loaded with cheese, bacon crumbs and sour cream, and the grilled shrimp was just very delicious!! Our waiter checked up on us frequently to make sure we were ok and token care up. Customer service A+!! And the best part was when the staff surrounded us and gave me a birthday YEE HAAA celebration along with ice cream for dessert! Fantastic!! Food is not as good like before. We're seniors who wants to eat fresh salad and fresh seafood and nicely cook ribs and steak but yesterday our orders are not so perfect. Salad are not fresh it was served as to small amount . I ordered house salad but I was surprised it wasn't mixed with all the treamings. The catfish was so dry and cold. My husband steak was so tough and dry. His sweet potatoe doesn't have the marshmallow and butter it's all plain. Service is not so bad the guy always checks on us. I love this place that's why we keep on coming back but at this time we're so disappointed. I'm just hoping that the manager will check the food before it gets to serve. read more

We went here for my elderly father's birthday and it was AMAZING! We had the best server (whose name began with a "C"). He was attentive, knowledgeable, fun, entertaining, and efficient. Said he used to bartend there as well as other roles, but I think his true calling lies in being a server. The margaritas were to die for, and the bread... oh, man, don't get me started. We decided to go and eat there since they lifted the having to make a reservation guideline. The new system of being put on a wait list was pretty easy and efficient. We texted when we got there and they texted when we were able to be seated. The service was a bit slow and the food was what you would expect from a chain steakhouse. I didn't like the fact that it felt like they weren't adhereing to the state guidlines for capacity. It looked very crowded and I had people sitting close to us at tables with blue X's on them. After reading an Internet article about how their sirloin was 'the best', we went there in Easter Sunday for lunch. The 6 oz. Sirloin ($15) was fantastic, actually better than any filet Mignon I have ever eaten. Repeat- the sirloin was better than any filet I have ever eaten. However, as great as it was, the green beans were even better. Order the green beans! They were like the green beans my grandmother and mother made in the 50's and 60's. The baked potato was good (it would have been better with more sour cream). My partner got a sweet potato as a side and it was fantastic. It wasn't 'loaded,' but it was delicious. She got sautéed mushrooms on her sirloin and they were very good; if you like mushrooms, you will not be disappointed. Her second side was assorted vegetables which was broccoli and carrots. They were okay, but nothing special. She should have gotten the green beans. Next time I go, I'm getting the green beans, a sweet potato and I will pay a little extra for the sautéed mushrooms. Their bread rolls were sweet and tasty. They gave us four. We drank the smaller of the two Modelo Especial that was available. I think it was 16 oz. Total bill was $50 plus tip. The only thing we didn't like was that my partner had a cup of hot water which did not look crystal clear. We complained and got a second cup which was much better. Lots of free parking. Bottom line. Ruby River used to be my to-go steakhouse in Reno, but not any more! Next time I need a steak, I'm going to Texas Roadhouse. read more

Being a chain restaurant they are very comparable to other locations I've been to. Had an overall terrible experience! This was my third experience. The place was packed beyond capacity. They put us at a small table for a party of four. Table was really for a party of 2 table. The server did not remove any plates from the appetizer when they brought the meal. The ribs were super dry. The boneless buffalo wings were more like over cooked day-old, popcorn, chicken. Just sauce at the bottom of the basket, they were not even coated. Terrible presentation. Would not recommend this restaurant to anybody. Never going back. It's gotten too big and too busy.
