We weren't there during the busy lunch rush or even dinner. No. We got there around 11:15am. The tables by the windows? Empty. The tables in the middle of the restaurant? Empty. But of course, they crowded us (just my mother and I) with 2 large families and a couple. In the back of the restaurant. By the lavatory. Every time the bathroom door opened, we got the lovely aroma of chemicals, cheap urinal cakes, piss and feces. I ordered the Maker's Mark Old Fashioned. I'm certain this establishment either marries bottles or misrepresents the liquor they pour. This cocktail didn't taste like Maker's. It tasted cheap. The only good thing I can say is that the entrees we had tasted good and our server was attentive enough, but that's where it stops. I wouldn't eat here again. I've been to this establishment a handful of times because I've been given gift cards. This place is so chaotic, loud, and cramped. The last in person visit was booked over capacity and my partner and I were seated at a table in the middle of the walkway and there was NO room for us or anyone seated around us to move, let alone the waiter. The food was cold and tasted like microwaved trash. No flavor to it and the texture was as if it had sat out for multiple hours on a counter. On a previous visit I found a mystery white glob of something buried in my applesauce. Who knows what that was. The experience was less awful doing takeout but the flavor was still lacking and the food was still cold. Do not recommend this place. read more

Service = 5*, Food Quality = 5*, Friendliness of Staff and keeping control of COVID-19 situation = 5*, Value = 5* Comfort = 3*, Atmosphere = 3* were my overall impressions. Yep, its been a very long time since I have had a meal at Texas Roadhouse but as I stated above, everything about the experience was basically 5* which really impressed me. That goes too to highlight the way the restaurant is organized (and although very busy at the time) to manage COVID-19 restrictions being well organized and fair. If you do go on a weekend evening, I definitely recommend you log on to the restaurant's website and get your name on the wait list ahead, because not doing that (at about 6pm Saturday night) the wait was two hours! In my case even after checking in at 5:55p, I was told a wait of 1 hour, but is was actually only about 10 - 15 minutes, so no big deal there. Our server Jared was GREAT! Very friendly and attentive, he didn't miss any details and was speedy and very alert to the needs of the table including beverage refills! Hat's off to you Jared!! The dinner was really good too, flavorful, served at the right temperature and certainly enough in quantity to make the portion = cost; that is something I really like and appreciate! The only drawbacks I would add is the the temperature inside the dining area was cold. Perhaps for the employees (who really hustle), if you are just sitting, relaxing and enjoying a meal, the temperature was chilly. The other thing was the background music was very loud. I'm all in favor for atmosphere and theme and a lively experience, but if you want to have a conversation with other in your party, you do need to be prepared to speak up, so the recommendation is to drop it down a few notches and I think the experience could still be as lively while permitting conversation. read more

I went out for my birthday weekend with my husband and tried dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I have never been more disgusted or appalled with the service we received. We literally waited over an hour to be told they would not be serving us. If you have a party over 6 do not come here. The hostesses are completely unhelpful. Despite showing up an hour early to get on a list and being told we would be seated in 53 minutes. We continued to not get seated after at least 50 people came and were seated in that time. Mind you there are no reservations here. After waiting 75 minutes we were told some nonsense about a policy for large groups and that we would have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes. My son and I have been going to the Reno Texas Roadhouse for my birthday over the last half dozen years or so. We've always enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly servers and good food but this year was different. The food was very disappointing. i ordered my porterhouse medium rare (of course) but one end was well done, the other end almost raw and the whole thing tasteless. The food also arrived cold. I was very disappointed. I'll write that meal off as an aberration but if I get another meal like that, I'm done with Texas Roadhouse. read more

I love this place!! I have never had a bad meal here and we come here frequently. The staff is excellent. They are friendly and efficient and do their best to make each guest feel special. The food is consistently delicious. The hot rolls and cinnamon butter are so good that it is difficult not to fill up on them ahead of your meal. My husband loves the pulled pork and the chili and I am partial to their steaks and the chicken critter salad. No matter what you decide on, you will not be disappointed by the fresh quality of the food and the generous portions. And i love the fried pickles. Sweet tea is a must since im from Arkansas. The wait is always a hit or miss, but the last couple of times we have done the call ahead wait list which has been a huge benefit (especially with 2 kids!). They were out of their infamous fresh baked bread, but we were reassured they'd bring some shortly and they did! Our waitress this time was Amanda and she was EXCELLENT! She was extremely attentive to her tables, she made small talk, was fun, quick and efficient while not making us feel rushed. Management was just as great as they did what great management does and assisted the staff & checked on tables. Management helped deliver food, brought extra items requested, walked around and introduced themselves while checking on tables. I had the sirloin/ribs combo and my steak was cooked spot on this time. I've only had problems with the cook one time and it was fixed in a timely manner and the manager came by immediately after to ensure the 2nd one was cooked properly. This time the sirloin was cooked perfect, the ribs fell right off the bones and the sides took the meal to the next level.. because who doesn't love fully loaded mashed potatoes?! My brother has worked at three different Texas Roadhouses in the United States in the last 10 years so I am pretty familiar with the chain. The first time I dined at one was in 2008 when he was working at a location in Connecticut. It was amazing: all you can eat FREE peanuts, cinnamon honey buttered ooey-gooey warm rolls, three sides, large entrees. What more could an American want when they dine out?! I quickly memorized the menu and ate there probably once a month to visit my brother and his friends. The next few years lead me to the Texas Roadhouse in Reno, where he also worked for quite a while. I've been to this one a good five+ times and loved it every time, especially when he would hook me up with extra mushrooms, extra egg in my salad, or a gift card. My brother has since moved to San Diego where he works at a brand new TRH. When he visits me here we always make sure to go to this Roadhouse in So. Reno so he can get his employee discount and visit his friends. The most recent experience was a 5 star rating from everyone in my party, despite my brother having to correct our waitress on her facts about the menu a couple of times. All of the food was tasty and fresh, I am really obsessed with their sweet potatoes and mushrooms, which was my meal since I filled up on peanuts, obviously. My nephew snacked on the mac and cheese side dish as his main course and I couldn't help but notice that it looked like Kraft, in which my brother concurred that it was. Basically their sides are pretty standard, right down to the green beans and apple sauce. This is why I always get the salad, loaded sweet potato, and mushrooms as my three sides. Typically they give 30 percent off for employees and their guests, but my brother was super friendly with the staff and manager that they actually took off 50% from our check...I should have ordered up a storm, we were so THRILLED. The service was good but 3 of 4 steaks were cooked wrong. One was sent back and was supposed to be medium rare and was rare. A prime rib that was suppsed to be medium camee out rare as that person didnt realize how prime rib was done. The the well done steak with 'NO PINK' came out with a little pink and was dry and flavorless. The rib side car was also super dry and the only flavor was the bbq sauce which they skimped on. Come on TR. Your the one of the last good steakhouses in the area. Dont go the way of Outback. read more
