What is a trip to anaheim without stopping over in westminster for some bomb ass vietnamese food?! I never had some of these Vietnamese desserts before but a visit to this place with a friend was worth the 30 min drive. I realized most of the Vietnamese dessert is made from sweetened rice and beans. Apart from getting some rice based desserts we also got che ba mau, which was the rice and bean drink. Stopped by this location 3 days ago because the other location down the street closed. I like the fact that this location they practice social distancing and won't allow more than 3 people in the store. But I didn't like the fact that my Che bap is barely over half of the amount and not enough coconut topping for my Che while at the other location (down the street), they gave you a full cup with extra coconut topping when I asked. This is THE place to get che (Vietnamese desserts) in OC and LA. They have 3 locations in Westminster area and 1 in Rosemead. If you don't know what you want, go spend 30 minutes reading the Yelps so you can research what they serve and what it looks like. Because once you spend 15 minutes in line, you will end up in front of a counter with lots of steam trays (ice trays??) filled with coconut milk/tapioca/cassava mixtures with them firing rapid questions at you, "Next? What Else? Is that all"? and no time to decide. My personal favorite is the coconut milk, banana, & tapioca che. My second time coming over to this place for some authentic delicious Vietnamese desert. The long line speaks for itself. It's a small mom-and-pop desert store and the family (staff) are always very friendly and lively. I come here for some Ché Ba Mau - known as three color dessert. It's one layer of red bean, another layer of mung bean then a layer of green pandan jelly topped with coconut sauce and shaved ice. Go early or else there will be a line. I went 1/2 hour after opening, this was the line. People are pretty good about social distancing. And to clarify one of the previous reviews about them not wearing gloves and taking money and serving you the che by another reviewer. Yes they do not wear gloves but they sanitize their hand every time they touch money and everytime it's a new customer. So they sanitized their hands several times with my order because she got change for me. Che wise, they are legit. They DON'T skimp on the ingredients e.g. some places add regular rice to their Che Dao, this place use all sweet rice. There's a lot to choose from and all so good. This establishment and its sibling under the same name on Westminster Ave do not give paper receipts to customers. The amount due is always calculated mentally by the salesperson. Businesses like these are the reason Westminster residents have to pay the highest sales tax rate in the county (9.25%} to cover for the lack of revenue of the city due to tax evasion. I noticed that they would box our food with their hands and then use the cash register (count / collect) money to ring us up with their same hands, then go back to serve another customer. This is probably one of the BEST places to get Vietnamese Che and Desserts in Orange County. They have been doing this for years upon years and has the best and freshest varieties. They have all the Vietnamese che classics (banana, sam bo luong), xoi (sticky rice), and the glutenous sticky desserts (banh da lon), and iced drinks (grass jelly, boba and coconut milk). Go at Opening - this reduces your wait time and the crowd. People aren't exactly the best at social distancing. A lady stood right next to me today because she was interested in the che i was standing in front of. Your chance of finding a good parking spot increases and your risk of someone backing into your car decreases. 2.) Research what you want ahead of time. There are SO many things to choose from and if you don't have a game plan the workers do get impatient because they have so many customers. Also keeps you from buying 8 different dishes because it all looked good. 3.) BRING CASH. Like most bolsa businesses. No Cash No food. 4.) Be aware and attentive of your surroundings.
