Roast Beef, usually a specialty, was tough and dry. Potato undercooked as well. Showed the waiter. Nothing was deducted from the bill. We were told by the waiter he had informed the manager, but never saw her until we reached our car. She said she had just been informed. Who knows for sure. Extremely underwhelming experience. Our party ordered NY strips and filets. Medium rare came out medium and very poor cuts of steak in terms of quality. Look I know this isn't a super high end steakhouse like Morton's but I think this is barely Applebee's level. The worst thing was that the steaks were utterly flavorless. Couldn't ask for nicer staff! I felt like we were the only table seated. The food was even better. Our table enjoyed sirloin and shrimp, wedge salad, pot stickers, buffalo wings, ribs, and baked potato. Margaritas were delicious as well. This is a bigger restaurant than we knew, with plenty of room for larger parties. They also now have a covered outside dining area that is very pleasant and relaxing. We enjoyed the happy hour starters and drinks, and the terrific steaks with all the fixings. The server and the chef that we met were very pleasant and gave us good service and food. Naturally, the place offers some pretty good bourbon but I was happy with a margarita. Very pleased to find the ahi tuna starter plate was so good. Needed to add salt on everything but that just might be a personal preference. We had the fish and chips, chicken sandwich, cheeseburger, and the chicken schnitzel. I have lived in Santa Fe for 14 years. Never been to Bourbon Grill before this week - mostly because of the location and its reputation for being snooty. I met with a group of about a dozen people. The waitress refused separate checks telling us that she would accept no more than three credit cards for the lot. When we asked why, the waitress replied, "new management." The bill came on one page leaving all of us to identify our orders. We had to compute the tip and tax ourselves. (They automatically added 20% tip.) This resulted chaos at the end of the meal. This is another case of a business putting its convenience over that of their customers. I ordered the mushroom burger. The waitress brought a side plate of mushrooms insisting that was what I ordered. She took it back and brought my order long after most of my friends had finished theirs. We don't know if that plate was included on the mass bill. According to the menu, my cost was $23. I saw the chaos coming so I gave our leader $40 - much more than I owed. To complete the evening, my burger and fries were inedible - dry, tasteless. I took half home but tossed it out the next morning. I will never eat at the Bourbon Grill again nor will I recommend it to my Santa Fe friends or out-of-town visitors. read more

This review is for breakfast only. I had never been here and didn't know they even served breakfast but a friend of mine wanted to go so I went with him. What a delicious surprise! Firstly coffee was very good and my cup kept getting refilled. I ordered huevos rancheros which were excellent. The accompanying tortilla was nicely toasted. The price is most likely the most reasonable in town. The atmosphere, being more relaxed and in the warm setting of a steakhouse made for a very pleasant way to start the day. My friend was also happy with his classic breakfast and remarked that the toast was above the ordinary. Not to forget that our server was very personable and attentive. We were on vacation and saw this restaurant while driving into Santa Fe. We went for drinks and sat at bar in front of the sushi chef. We had sushi ( some of the best I've had) prime rib sliders, tempura shrimp, both delicious but the highlight was the sushi. We were fortunate enough to meet one of the owners which I told him what a wonderful manager and staff he had. It was a highlight of our vacation. It couldn't have been a better afternoon spent. Being from Kansas, the heart of beef country we are particular about beef but my prime rib was excellent and the surf and turf with scallops and rib eye left us wanting nothing else. Hi we were in there at approximately 4:00pm on Sunday, April 30th 2023. Honestly, our entire experience was horrible. We weren't greeted by the hostess. We sat down and ordered a beer and a cab. The server came back and said the Cab was not available (I see later I was charged for the unavailable cab as well as the drink I ordered instead). We ordered the filet mignon (med rare) and the teriyaki sirloin (medium) and two appetizers of spinach cheese balls and mushrooms. The appetizers came out with the meal (only after we asked what happened to our appetizers) and both steaks came out wrong. The filet mignon was medium (which was annoying but fine) the sirloin was medium well (so we sent it back) the same cut of steak that he had taken came back to us cooked well done. At this point. At this point we sent the steak back refusing it and we spoke to the manager, for 1 major health code violation putting the same steak on the grill that someone had bit into (which will be reported to the health department) 2 how is a steak that is already over-cooked going to be fixed by recooking it? It took 2 servers and the hostess 10 min to find the manager. When he came, the manager apologized and begged for us to give them another chance, he said he would comp the meal and give us a gift card. We waited another 15 min for this to be remedied. When we got the check, he explained he comped only the steak that was refused and an appetizer, then gave us a $20 gift card. I am not quite sure how Bourbon Grill is ran now, but as local Santa Feans who have been coming to the restaurant as children (since it was Steaksmith) we are very, very disappointed in the entire experience. We made the mistake of going to The Bourbon Grill for New Year's Eve. We had a 7:00 reservation for 4 and arrived about 10 minutes early, anticipating a full house. We checked in and at 7:00, the hostess said it would be just a few minutes to get our table cleaned. At 7:20, we were still waiting and inquired about our table only to be told that our reservation was at 7:30. When we showed the hostess our 7:00 confirmation, we were told they were seating guests in two groups 5:30 And 7:30. We were not told that when we made the reservation. It's no wonder people were on top of each other in the waiting area and there were MANY empty tables in the dining room. We finally got seated at 7:35. At 7:45 we were asked for our drink order and some time after that, we got a menu. Notice I didn't say menus. We got one menu for the 4 of us because that's all they had. So, we finally get our drinks and they come to take our order. Since it was taking so long for everything, we decided to order dinner when we ordered appetizers. Big mistake. At one point, I remember commenting that they must've forgotten our appetizers because it was taking a while to get them. The appetizers finally came out, but it was at the same time as our soup/salad. Within a few minutes, our entrees were served and we couldn't even fit everything on the table. We ended up leaving a good portion of the appetizers so that we could eat our soup/salad before our steaks got cold. I don't know whose idea it was to do service that way on a busy night like New Year's Eve instead of staggering reservations like most restaurants do, but it was a disaster for the staff and unpleasant for the customers. The servers were running ragged and I'm sure the kitchen staff was too. Tables around us weren't getting cleared and we ended up adding our salad and appetizer plates to the dishes on a nearby table so we could have some room. Our server was really trying to do her best under the circumstances and despite the bad experience, we left her a good tip. We had been to The Bourbon Grill before and, though it wasn't anything special, it was decent. Needless to say, after this last experience, we don't recommend The Bourbon Grill and don't anticipate going back. The same goes for the couple that was with us. read more

Watch food sit under light for 10 minutes then they give it to you I ordered an entree took forever then came with sauce totally dry as it probably sat under the heat lamp for 20 minutes. We've eaten here a few times and we find the food to be fine. We especially liked the Pan Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer. We would eat here more often, except that the Grill is adjacent to a swimming pool area, and the odor of the chlorine pervades the bar area especially. That greets anyone entering the place and is off-putting. And, overall the decor is, shall I say, very 'dated' Santa Fe style, to quote a realtor friend. They are making the effort though, and I hope they can put more thought into the setting, which could turn the Grill into a more upper-end experience. read more

I had the Surf and Turf special which consisted of a Filet and Scallops. Both were great and the Black Cherry demi-glace was wonderful. My wife's Prime Rib was excellent as were the raw oyster we had for an appetizer. One of the nice things is that the entree's include salad and a potato.
