Well I happen to be in Temecula mid day and finally decided to come in. I am so glad I did. My only regret is that I did not stop in sooner. This place is as authentic as it gets when coming to Cuban food. I should know beczuse I grew up eating the best Cuban food cooked by my Mom, Aunts and Uncles. My mom is from Cuba and I actually called her after eating here. I told her the food tastes just like when she used to cook it. Come here for the food and friendly service from a Mom and Pop family proud restaurant. It is absolutely not a huge chain ran place. Small and quaint sums it up. It has beautiful murals and artwork to admire while you wait for your food, but I highly recommend grabbing and an outside table or to go. I've had Cuban in different states in the US, Cuban food in Florida is always #1 for me, but this place is sooo very close. We got the Chicharron plate and Oxtail plate, both were amazingly delicious, it would be hard to not get these plates each time we come now and I guarantee we will be back. Oxtail was perfectly cooked, just tender enough, a little bite of fat and tendon chew. Amazing turmeric and olive salty flavors that just blended so well. Chicharron was heaven! The Cuban sandwich is good although it could have used more mustard and the pork could be more flavorful. The Arroz Con Pollo is okay, although the rice is greasy and wasn't very flavorful. I also had the guava and cream cheese pastries and it was very disappointing. There was hardly any of the guava or cream cheese in the pastry for the money I paid. However, the white bean soup is amazing. It is very flavorful and delicious. I liked that most of all the food I ordered. The service was exceptional. The owner's son is friendly, kind and nice with all his customers. I really appreciate his hospitality and service. The restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is nice too. I didnt get a chance to take a pic of the beef empanada and papas rellenos because once I put them in my mouth it was game over. This is genuinely the best service I have ever received at a restaurant. It really is the best for a reason. As soon as me and my friends walked in we were greeted with such care and kindness. We told the workers that it was our first time there and without even having to ask the workers gave us a rundown of what was in the menu and what they had to offer. What really stood out to me was when he told us that we could order anything from the menu and get it refunded if we didn't lend up liking it. Later on he even gave us a free sample of the garbanzo beans with pork and it was amazing full of flavors. I ended up getting the oxtail which was the most tender meat I've ever had, along with the rice and plantain that was so flavorful and had an amazing texture like non other. This was my second time going to Cuban Hut. The first time the food was good but every single person that was working there seemed like they were annoyed that anyone walked in. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The girl looked upset at me and didn't even say hi or welcome me. I order- the food was good and I left. Today I come back and the same thing. No greeting, no acknowledgment, everyone looks angry. There is an old man at the counter texting for about 30 seconds before he says anything to me. I look at the menu on the wall and was about to take a photo of it so I could sit down and choose what I wanted. The owners father (allegedly) hands me a physical menu. I order and the price of what I order is $15.99 for one of the items on the menu. He added up the totals for everything and it seemed high so I asked for a receipt. After looking at the receipt I told the owners father (allegedly) that the price he charged me was $17.99 for this one item. I actually didn't look at the other items but I assume all the prices were inaccurate. He said that the physical menu is the old menu with incorrect prices. I said then you need to honor the price because you never told me these prices were incorrect. After going back and forth he admitted he made a mistake but he would not honor the price. I told him that's bad business and he said it's okay because "they are still doing good." As a business owner myself, I honor any mistakes I make. This was honestly one of the most ridiculous experiences ive ever had at a business. The man I spoke to said he was a "slave" and that I should have asked him if the menu was old. Had I not asked for a receipt, which I never do, I would have never known all the prices were jacked up. I don't know if they are intentionally trying to scam people but that's what it felt like. There was no apology and he made it seem like i did something wrong. I told him to throw these menus away but he said no because people needed them? Then scratch out the old prices. Nothing was getting through to this man. I walked out without my food, without a refund and will be disputing it with my bank. It's not about the money - it's about the principle. They lost a client over a few dollars. I will never go back. Don't let these people steal from you. read more

Having been born in Cuba and growing up all my life eating Cuban food I struggle trying to find good Cuban food in the Inland Empire. Today my daughter and son-in-law invited my wife and I to have lunch with them at "The Cuban Hut". The staff were great but the food was even better. I tried there Bistec Con Salsita which is the same as Bistec Palomilla with onions, it came with the traditional white rice, black beans (Beans were excellent) and the fried plantains (could have had 3 plantains but still really good). I also tried my wife's Masitas de Puerco. It was really good as well. It was great to finally find a very good Cuban restaurant. Tried this place again, as it's been a while since my initial visit. Some time has passed, so I wouldn't be able to compare the food from before. Takeout is my main method of dining nowadays for obvious reasons. I placed an order online for pickup during opening hours on a weekend morning. When I walked in to pick up the order, the front of house staff refused to speak to me; only pointed to the pickup counter. I tried to ask and clarify that the bag sitting on the counter was under my name, and still not a verbal word from the staff, just kept pointing to the counter and went back to entertaining indoor diners in the corner. Don't know whether this had to do with me being the only person in the establishment wearing a mask** (I glanced at the kitchen staff who were also maskless). Whatever, no plans on coming back. As for the food: at any Cuban place, I tend to go for a Medianoche sandwich, which is what I ordered, along with plantains. They were good. A shame the business interaction (or lackthereof) overshadowed the flavor.
