So we ordered 4 dishes, an empanada and a pastry to review. The oxtail dish got good flavor. It's quite dry and not as tender. There was only 3 small pieces on top of steamed rice, side of black beans and fried bananas. This plate gets 3.5 The. Chicken meal, pollo a l plancha with white rice, black beans and fried bananas... the chicken does not have a lot of flavor until you add the sautéed onions at every bite. This meal gets 3. The garlic shrimp dish on white rice, with black beans and fried bananas. The shrimps are very big and very tasty. I enjoyed this meal very much. The garlic sauce was on the rice as well and added good flavors. I give this a 5. Th Ropa vieja, shredded beef with spices on white rice, with black beans and fried bananas. Great flavors, a little on the salty side, gotta have rice with every bite. Shredded but stringy, not as tender as I would have expected. The ropa vieja empanada is also good. Again on the salty side. A bit disappointed. Now the pastry... it's puffy, crunchy, but not enough filling. Very little guava and cheese. Mostly air. See my picture. The service is not too bad, the cashier is hard to understand and not personable. Don't even know why I tipped her for a sub par service. The place is ok, can use more lighting. Maybe because it was already 7pm but that's not an excuse. Couldn't tell if the facility is clean or not but definitely questionable. I'm always in Florida and always eating Cuban food. My tastebuds know what's good and what's not as good. Cuban hut is good enough, not really much to compare with. There's another one in old town you should try. Let your taste decide. read more

My husband has been passing this hole in the wall for two years on his way home from work. We finally stopped in and tried it. Dang- why did we wait so long? The staff was super friendly and the food was tasty and fresh. After direction from the friendly staff we got two Cuban sandwiches and the shredded beef plate. I found this place on yelp and wanted to try it out because of all the amazing reviews, plus I love me a good Cuban sandwich. This place reminded me sooo much of the movie 'Chef'. The place itself is really cute & the service was great, the owner came by to ask how the food was after I started to eat. The food was so delicious! I picked up food from The Cuban Hut recently. I had been craving Oxtails and decided to look up nesr by places who served them. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. It was around dinner time, so that was interesting. The restaurant seemed clean enough. They had paper menus, which was great because most restaurants don't and make you use QR code. Ordered Oxtails and a Beef Empanada. The empanada was practically hollow inside. I've eaten them from other places and the insides are well proportioned. They are definitely not worth $3.25 The Oxtails: #22 |Rabo Endendido - $20.00/ Before ordering, I did ask how much Oxtails do you get in a serving and the young girl said "like 3 or 4 bones". I then said, is it 3 or 4? She back tracked that to say it was 3. Depending on the size of the bones. What I received was 2. Barely. One fairly large one and one so small it was barely there. The larger one was full of fat as well. The other issue I had with them was that they were not tender at all. Actually, the small one was tender, but I needed up chewing most of the larger one till my jaw was tires and then decided to extract it from my mouth. They really needed to be cooked longer and slower. The flavor of the sauce on them was very good. It's literally the only thing that made the rice good. I normally don't eat rice much, but considering the paltry amount of oxtails, I went ahead and ate most of the rice. I'm probably not going here again and would not recommend it for the Oxtail meal. Other items on the menu I can not attest to so they may be better cooked and a better portion for the price you pay. read more

We ordered off the paper menu, so we didn't realize they had empanadas and that the special was oxtails! We will definitely be back for more. Also, my 3 yo daughter enjoyed the food. When I said I was in the mood for a sandwich, he recommended the cuban. Obvious choice and I didn't disagree. I thought I knew what to expect. So wrong! Both the Arroz con Pollo plate and the La Plancha Pollo were excellent. An incredible find -- the food was soooo good, the portions generous, and even a little live entertainment from the owner/chef's singing. This place is a gem. The most I've had was Porto's bakery and I don't even know if that counted. So I decided to check out The Cuban Hut. This is what we ordered! Arroz Con Pollo - The chicken was amazing! The color was absolutely beautiful. I knew it was going to be good just from looking at it. They were very tender, could easily ripped apart from each other. It was flavorful, acidic and flagrant. The caramelized onion and bell pepper complimented the overall flavor really well. It was I could have more on the side. The rice was perfectly cooked. It was fluffy while remained its shape of whole grain rice. Again, very nice color and flavor. The portion of this dish was enough to split into 2 meals. The value was reasonable for its size. Cuban King Deluxe Sandwich - this sandwich...oh man. First of all, it was huge! There's no way this is for one person. The bread was nicely toasted. It was crunchy on the outside and airy on the inside. The meat was packed inside the sandwich, which made every bite be a perfect bite. The meat was delicious, juicy and flavorful. This dish came with a spicy sauce on the side (sorry I don't really know what it was). Be careful it might not look harmful, but it was spicy. But it added a really nice contrast to the flavor. The potato chips were thinly sliced and fried, such perfect sides for the sandwich. Beef Empanada - it was a good way to start off my meal. The pastry was light, flaky, and airy. It had a good amount of filling. The filling was delicious. The empanada had a well-balanced flavor between the pastry and the filling. I enjoyed it. First, when we arrived here, the location almost scared us away. It was in a kind of industrial/warehouse area. It was kind of odd, but don't let that scare you off. I'm really glad I gave this place a chance. Everything was so good. It was definitely the best Cuban food I've ever had. The food was really good but the interior of the restaurant could use some touch-up though. The illustration of the menu could be improved. The auto-slideshow was a bit annoying. Went here for the first time this week with a couple of my friends. Man oh man this place did not disappoint! The owner and his wife are extremely hospitable. They chatted with us about the menu and brought out sauce for tasting. Our food was out very quickly and it was DELICIOUS! The owner was also generous to bring out some soup for sampling and the most delicious coffee I have ever had (truly no exaggeration). I would absolutely eat here again! The restaurant is also decorated with murals, has nice music and videos on the walls. A very casual but still homey atmosphere! Service was nice and I've rarely gone to Temecula so this is in a business area. Inside the restaurant there was music and outside on Sunday it was quiet so perfect for us! Food was delicious- served in a take out plate - we had a Cuban Sandwich, Ropa Vieja plate, Papa Rellenas, and fries. I also had Agua de Tamarindo - with Topo Chico - delicious! The Cuban was flavorful and just right! There were chips with the Cuban, and we also ordered fries, they were thin and crisp. The problem I usually have with Ropa Vieja is that it's dry but not this - it was juicy and a balanced flavor. The beans were not just beans but had some other yummy flavors in there. This place isn't fancy and reminded me a bit of a place we once had in San Diego called Embargo- I loved that place - there aren't sauces at the Hut but there are many more dishes. I've never had Cuban food until today and let me just say "wow". I ordered the Cuban sandwich, Pan con Bistec sandwich, a chicken empanada and beef empanada, and arroz con leche. From the start, it was a great experience with customer service. I called and placed my order seamlessly and staff was friendly. Upon arriving, they let me try the flan and I normally HATE flan but omg this flan is legit! It had an espresso taste from the syrup they drizzle on it and the texture wasn't off putting like other flan I've had. The arroz con leche was good, definitely different than Mexican arroz con leche as far as flavor but still good. Of the flan and arroz, the flan was best The cubano was delicious and full of flavor ranging from salty, spicy, and sweet. The chicken empanada was my absolute fave, the dough was fried perfectly and the chickens flavor was devine. I'm not a big kettle chip person but the chips they gave with the sandwich were okay, I'd prefer beans over chips. The devourer of the pan con bistec sandwich said it was really good as well. Amazing authentic Cuban food. Initially went to Old Town for a late lunch the day after Xmas 12/26/22. Old Town was a zoo with every restaurant we tried having a 1+ hr wait. We were especially craving cuban food and found The Cuban Hut on Yelp. Everything really does happen for a reason because I am SO HAPPY we ate here. Everything was delicious and made with love. For 4 of us we ordered the cubano sandwich, el picadillo, oxtail special, ham and cheese empanada, ground beef empanada & guava and cream cheese pastry.
