My friend and I shared a variety of dishes: -Student Noodle: If chow mein and pad thai had a baby, this would be that dish. Without the fish sauce, the noodles tasted like chow mein. This dish overall was good! While I would still opt for pad thai, the noodle texture was good and I enjoyed the flavors. We got this with crispy pork and it was tasty, but I wish it was crispier. I liked how it wasn't too fatty. -Fish Amok: It did not look like the picture, but the dish was still good. It was a sweet fish curry which was sweet from the coconut milk. This was tasty and the fish was soft. It wasn't fishy at all. This paired well with the rice. I would still opt for a savory curry though. -Beef Skewers: These were yummy and I enjoyed the charred flavor of these! The flavor was very similar to Filipino skewers. I liked how even the fatty parts were enjoyable. Steamed Rice: Fluffy and not mushy which I liked. It came served in this cute rice bucket which preserved the heat of it. The restaurant was decorated nicely and was pretty clean. Bathrooms available which were also clean. The service was good and attentive. There's lots of free parking in the lot in front. Overall, a solid Cambodian restaurant that's worth checking out in the Long Beach area!

The noodle broth was too salty to the point that my wife threw away the broth and just ate the noodles which defeats the purpose since the broth is a key ingredient. The crispy pork was not that crispy and looks not fresh. The marinated carrots and cabbage was chewy and looks old. Im expecting alot grant this place has 4+ stars and 700+ reviews but there is nothing memorable from this experience other than stay away from this place. If only one bad dish, i might consider going back but everything is awful.

Came with my mom and we DEF ordered more food than we can take on. My mom hasn't had Cambodian food in a while so we def made people wonder why we ordered so much lol Food was so savory and delicious. Seating is limited hopefully they can expand. The iced coffee was solid. The bad: The women who work here were a lot less friendly. The tables were so close to one another that we couldn't sit across from one another. Food also took an incredibly long time to come out even though we only ordered two dishes--student noodles and beef skewers. We also had to wave down a server just to follow up on the iced coffee that I ordered, especially since this was already after the food had finally arrived. Lastly, while it was good that they had their own parking lot, exiting through the almost too narrow alley was incredibly challenging in either direction. All in all, still remain torn about returning.

She comes across as combative, takes no accountability for mistakes, and makes resolving simple issues unnecessarily difficult. My daughter called in our usual order for pickup. When she arrived, she immediately noticed something was wrong because the total was much lower than expected. When she politely brought it to Marisol's attention, instead of acknowledging that there may have been a mistake, Marisol insisted the order had never been placed that way. She then asked my daughter if she wanted to order the missing item while she was already there to pick up her food, which would require waiting another 15 minutes. Since the delay was the result of an incorrect order, my daughter asked if she could at least receive fresh fries while waiting. Marisol told her she would have to pay extra for fresh fries. Marisol also claimed that she had repeated the order back over the phone when it was originally placed. That simply isn't true. She rushed my daughter off the phone, saying she'd see her in 15 minutes, without reviewing the order. We've continued to support A&J's because the food is consistently excellent, but experiences like this make it harder to keep coming back. Great food can only go so far when customers are made to feel dismissed instead of valued. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides additional customer service training so loyal customers receive the experience they deserve.

The restaurant interior seems to be under construction/ renovation. Elated to see they updated their menu with some written descriptions and photos of the each food items. This really helps with deciding factors for some customers who might not be familiar with Cambodian food. Service provided by a young gentleman was great , He was friendly , attentive and apologetic . What a disappointment uuggghhh!!!!! Cha qua ( fry breads/ fry donuts) At first glance myself and my mom already knew the Cha qua was not cooked properly , it has some weight to it, ( should be light and fluffy) the dough was raw inside. I got to catch them at Ten Mile Brewing so it was awesome that I was able to grab some beer to go along with my barbecue. I think they're primarily in the Long Beach area, but check their Instagram page to see where they will show up. I thought their sides were fantastic and the barbecued meats were amazing as well. Barbecue isn't cheap but I really feel like it's a great deal here because the portions are pretty darn large. I got a platter of some brisket and sausage along with two side sides, which were the macaroni and cheese and corn. This order lasted me two meals. And I was stuffed for both! Course #3 - Crispy Quail - with Khmer seasoning. Very crunchy and different way to eat Quail. Course #4 - Fish soup in a savory broth. I think this should have been Course #2 before the beef entree. The event started at 6 pm, and we expected the seven course dinner to begin around 7 pm, but they didn't start serving until almost 8 pm. By then, everyone was getting hungry. The servers also didn't check on any of the tables throughout the dinner. They simply brought out each course and left. They even started cleaning up about 30 minutes before the event ended. That would've been fine if the tables had been empty, but they actually asked us to get out of our seats so they could remove the table and chair linens. As for the food, some dishes were good while others were just average: Traditional cold plate: 4/5 - I liked the century eggs, and the pickled vegetables were refreshing. Beef steak with anchovy sauce: 3/5 - The beef was well seasoned and nicely charred, but it didn't come with the anchovy sauce that was listed on the menu. House special lobster with egg noodles: 4/5 - The lobster was good, and the noodles were flavorful, but they could've been cooked a little longer since they were a bit too al dente for my taste. The broth hits that classic Tom Yum trifecta: bright citrusy sourness from lime, deep salinity from fish sauce, and a solid kick of heat from chili.
