This is my new favorite coffee shop! This place is near PB/Mission Beach and has relatively easy neighborhood street parking. I love it's aesthetic-- bright colors and beautifully decorated. I ordered the iced Dirty Chai Latte based on the recommendation of one of the baristas, and it's definitely one of the best lattes I've ever had. I was surprised by how good it was; I finished it concerningly fast. My friend got the peppermint mocha, which is a seasonal drink, and it was also really good. You can bring your own reusable cup, FYI. We also got an avocado toast and a grounds avocado toast (which has burrata, prosciutto, and a balsamic glaze drizzle), both of which were super yummy. I will be dreaming about the balsamic glaze until I die. We elected to sit outside since it was a nice day and do work. The wifi is free and strong. Overall, it was a great experience. This place has a great ambiance and what seems like easy access and parking. There is tons of outside seating with different styles chairs. As well as multiple options on the inside as well, having bar seating as well as small table/bench seating. Inside the cafe is very stylish and photographable, definitely a cute place to go. As for their options for people they are limited on the pastries, and there are many options for drinks, but that doesn't mean you'll want to try them. They had a few options for wrapped pastries in a case (I'm assuming they don't warm them up), but they also have some food made to order options. They have drinks that are specialty and some traditional options. I ordered two drinks, one cappuccino and a cafe rose latte. Neither one of them were worth getting them ever again. I asked for the rose latte less sweet than normal and the cashier said she would be happy to do so but she doesn't think it is sweet normally and insured it should be something I'd like. I'm not one to judge things other enjoy or like, but this drink was supposed to be less sweet and tasted like I was drinking liquid cane sugar infused with rose. And my cappuccino was served extra hot, which a cappuccino shouldn't really ever be extra hot. I don't mind when places don't do latte art, but I do mind when my cup is only 3/4s filled. The espresso wasn't memorable and the milk was poorly steamed. This might be worth going for photos, but i can't recommend the drinks. Sad because I was excited to go here. read more

Nice coffee shop in the Crown Point neighborhood of PB! We were craving some coffee after an intense pickleball session and filling lunch nearby. Conveniently strolled to the Grounds. It's street parking but you should be able to find parking within a few blocks. The employees were super friendly. The shop is clean and very trendy. I came in here around mid afternoon (1-2pm) and wanted to try their açaí bowls!! I've seen online how popular they are & I wanted to try them out as myself. The girl who helped me had gold glasses & dark blondish hair. She seemed very rude and didn't like working there or her job period. I ordered an açaí bowl for here & decided to eat it outside. I noticed the açaí bowl was fairly small & nothing compared to what I've seen online. It was just full of açaí, very few berries no strawberries, bananas, anything and hardly granola. All that was included was raspberries & blackberries. I feel like my order was just rushed honestly! I know açaí bowls are just a bowl of fruit but I should at least expect to get all the fruits that are supposed to come in an açaí bowl & also as advertised on their menu. DECOR GREATER THAN ESPRESSO Sometimes a cafe post up is necessary before starting the day. The coffee shop is next door to Rocky's Crown Pub. The place isn't the ideal place for quiet time. It's packed with studious PB sorority chicks, sandy hair slipper wearing surfer boys, and random neighborhood people and their dogs... then you have random people like me who don't live in the neighborhood but looking for a place to sip, eat, and study. I liked the ambiance but I didn't quite find my fit. This place is more of a "lets sit and chat each other's ears off". It's a trendy place serving trendy espresso for the trendy PB crowd. I do love the trendy decor, it's bright and fills the space well. The tables were in height perfectly with the chairs (not too high and not too low) making it very comfortable to be on your laptop for hours without discomfort. And the table nor chair were wobbly! The bar stool area is a different story, it's made for amazon people... okay, maybe that may be perfect for the PB crowd. BLACK SESAME ($4.75) - espresso, active charcoal, black sesame maple, milk. I ordered it because it sounded "interesting". But I'll be sure to not order it again. For a trendy place my foam art was nothing but brown foam. I thought it was going to have an inquiring taste... it sure did... My first sip was a disappointment, it tasted like burnt sesame and the drink was gritty all the way through. Imagine the grittiness of an oreo shake - it was similar with more grit. At the bottom of my cup was a clump of specs of charcoal and black sesame. BREAKFAST SANDWICH ($8) - egg, bacon coffee jam, spinach, gruyere, English muffin. The sandwich was inviting to bite into but it's size reflected it's worth by an extra $2.50 in my opinion. The execution in the taste didn't blown my eight bucks away. The sandwich is stacked too high making it hard to consume by holding it with two hands. I had to flatten it someway and then use a fork and knife. The sweetness of the jam reminded of me of sweet onions when mixed with the other flavors. If you are into sweet and savory then you will like the jam, I didn't care for it. Sad to say, the only that stood out and made this sandwhich amazing was the oozing egg. Side note, there's alot of flies that come passing through the coffee shop dodging at your food plate or ceramic cup rim. I don't know if I'll come back. I'd rather go next door and eat a burger. SERVICE - The cashier was nice and though she did not have a toast to recommend (because she said she has never had them), she did ask the baristas who made great suggestions. DRINKS Matcha Latte - This was not too sweet and pretty tasty. A little powdery but as expected. Iced Coffee - My friend thought it was just okay. Nothing over the top. FOOD Grounds Avo Toast - Avocado toast with prosciutto. It was so good! The avo and the burrata was a great blend of flavor. The prosciutto and the balsamic elevated the toast that much more! Coffee read out (now that I have tried ALL the specialties: Dirty Tumi: The turmeric really comes through nicely. The blend of flavors they have going on gives it an almost tea essence. It feels cozy and calming to drink, while also somehow managing to feel refreshing with the zing of turmeric Salted honey: may be my favorite on the Menu. The honey and salt balance well together. I personally don't love an overly sweet coffee, so I enjoy the way the salt and honey work together. Bom bom: This is the sweeter of their drinks. Really great if you like your coffee with sugar. Even for someone who tends towards black coffee (despite my review about a bunch of highly flavored coffees right now...) this is a good sometimes treat when I want something sweet. The cinnamon also does a good job leveling out the sweet condensed milk Cafe Rose: Very floral. I appreciate that they have done something different than the typical lavender drinks. That being said, it behaves much the same, so if you are not a fan of lavender - your taste buds will probably feel the same about rose. If you have never had a lavender drink before and are looking to try something floral, I would go for it. It is a bit toned back from a lavender drink, so a great place to start. Dirty Chai: Great classic option. The chai they go with tends towards a spiced chai over a vanilla and works very well with espresso. Not to sweet and well balanced spices. Horchata: This is one of their least sweet drinks in my opinion. Rather than alot of sugar, this drink gets complexity from the mix of spices that hit you in different places in your mouth. Overall delightful. Mocha: They chocolate they add is DARK but still quite sweet. This drink gets a bit to sweet for my taste, but is my partners absolute favorite (he has a tendency to order two at a time actually). If you enjoy a mocha, and like your coffee sweet, highly recommend. I realize my claim of ALL the coffees wasn't 100% accurate. They do have a white mocha on the menu. I will circle back once I have gotten up the nerve for something I imagine will be quite sweet! read more

I was a little disappointed given it was supposedly their most popular drink. It really just tasted like a salted hot coffee with milk. I did not taste any honey in it and even the coffee itself was very average. The salt was definitely pretty strong but the flavor combination was not bad. The cafe itself is very cute! It has a tropical/Caribbean ambiance and the staff is very friendly. Wifi works great and there are also lots of outlets. Indoor seating is pretty limited as there is only 4 actual tables and the rest are barstool seating. There is also some outdoor seating. Parking is parallel street parking but I was able to find some directly across the street. read more

This is definitely a great alternative to box store coffee. I prefer making myself pour over coffee, usually single origin, and make an oat and vanilla collagen variation of bulletproof coffee when I am at home. So, when I'm traveling, finding baristas that do it right and really well is a real treat! The honey salt latte (oat, for me), was so delicious. An absolute perfect blend and the amount of salt was just right. I returned to have a chagaccino, which is a favorite of mine and sometimes tricky to find. Very nice new Coffee shop located right a round the corner from the famous Rocky's Crown Pub. They offer a small patio outside, some some comfortable seating inside, and free WiFi. Although they do offer some eats like baked goods and avocado toast, I had a house iced coffee with a touch of cream made from a Jame's Coffee roast from Guatemala. It was a good iced coffee, perhaps a little on the weaker side and missing that delicious strong robust coffee flavor, it still was flavorful and certainly on the lighter side than most I have experienced. The milk, creamer, and sugars are self served for this product. The staff was friendly enough. Some were more friendly than others but either way I enjoyed my visit at the coffee bar while I drank my iced coffee. Nice coffee shop. read more
