I wanted to leave a review for the service that we received at the hangout despite needing to leave suddenly. A few weeks ago we dropped in for brunch. We received a call that may need us to leave before our food arrived. So we asked the waiter if we could pay in advance just in case. A few minutes after, we were called out to leave due to an emergency. We could not wait for our waiter so we walked out. After about 30 min my husband suggested I call to the restaurant to see if maybe I could drive back and pick up our food. I thought it would be a long shot if they even answered given how busy they had been and I definitely did not think they would be holding onto our food. However, when I called they answered and informed us that they had our food packed and ready to go just in case we came back in. They had absolutely no idea we had to leave due to an emergency so we were really appreciative of how they prepped it for us just in case. The food was still great even after sitting for at least an hour or so. We loved the hangout and hope to return and experience it in person again. read more

Came to this place for a brunch and was really pleasantly surprised. We had about a 15 minute wait time to get our table, but once we got it the service was quick. We ordered the ube pancake and the garlic noodles with crispy chicken (one of their specialties). The noodles were absolutely delicious, I would highly recommend. The ube pancake looked pretty, but I didn't find it to be that good. The ube flavors were too subtle so it just felt like an extra bit of cost for a regular pancake. The restaurant was also incredibly loud it's very hard to hear people at your own table talking. Despite this, I would love to go again it was a really good meal overall and I am excited to try other items on the menu. read more

Was just here with one person for brunch and everything was going great until the attitude problem with our waitress. We both got bottomless mimosas and a dish each. We were told we could try the other 3 flavors as well. I had maybe 2.5 glasses max total and when I asked her if we could try raspberry she said yes and walked away. We were ignored for awhile until I politely asked her about it and she said she had to use my same glass. It was half full. Well that's fine, mix it. But why didn't you tell us that in the first place??! Why not take my half glass and give me a new one?? She acted irritated I even asked. And when I went to the restroom I was told she was pointing at our table and saying we were taking too long to leave!! We were only there an hour! That's so rude for anyone to do- especially your own waitress. You had a packed restaurant and somehow it's OUR fault we're still here? Lol that's awful. And let me add, my date left a good tip. I went to the pleasant hill store, not realize that they dont have the patio anymore and I have my dog with me. There is only one table outside so I drive from the pleasant hill store to the Walnut Creek one. I got there at 2:40 and they told us kitchen is closed and won't be able to take us. Well you still have the sign "open". While I like the food a lot and been there many times, the service this time makes me very disappointed. If your kitchen is closed at 2:40, then your business hour should not be until 3pm! Oh by the way, I just checked, I can order online and they are still taking orders as long as it's before 3pm. read more

Was very excited to try this spot for brunch. This location has parking and is away from downtown. The wait time was no longer than 15 minutes which I was very grateful for a Saturday. There are heaters on the patio which gives you a wonderful excuse to eat outside. We ordered the ube latte (iced), ube pancakes and the fried chicken Benedict with fried potatoes. Waiting for our food took a little longer than expected but it was also brunch time. The fried chicken was crunchy and the potatoes were crispy. This place lives up to the hype, it's rare a place with such good reviews impresses everyone which is what happened for a girls Sunday brunch! We went BIG bottomless mimosas a thaitini and a delicious bloody Mary! The crab benedict was amazing they plated it with the pile of fresh crab on the side so it didn't get soggy, that was a smart move the poached egg was cooked perfectly runny in the middle and those potatoes YUM! The Berries lover French toast with mascarpone was killer and the presentation was beautiful we added a side of scrambled eggs and potatoes both were perfect. We also had Cha Thai pancakes that got great reviews and paired perfectly with the Thaitini. It was loads of fun watching plates go by trying to guess what they all were. The staff here were all on their game, smiles, helpful and quick! They had a huge party that didn't impact any other customers in the least. I was surprised they openeded a second location so I had to check it out. This location differs in that it offers dinner too! It was a pleasant surprise to find a shopping plaza in this area that I never knew was there. There is plenty of parking and the space is big. Luckily, there was no wait unlike their p.hill location. The menu is mostly the same in terms of brunch. The ube latte came out too sweet for me, like a hot chocolate. The cali burger was humungous! It was so stacked that the bottom bun started to get soggy which I didn't care much for. My friend got the katsu curry, but they put the curry on the side so her dish looked incomplete. When she asked for the curry, they put it on her rice rather than the katsu which we thought was odd after looking at other katsu dishes around us. Other than that, staff was great and attentive. We never felt rush even when they started to get busier. It's a great alternative if you don't want to wait hella long for their p.hill location. We had been to the PHill location plenty of times. We are a fan of their diverse menu and it's very comfy and the food is Great!! We were In the area of Walnut Creek and I had noticed that a new Hangout opened in the WC area. I had jumped at a chance to check the location and it was not super busy on a Saturday morning. What was really nice about this location is that is had a lot bigger spacious dining area. The patio dining area is not as large, but there are a few tables too. We only had a short wait and we were seated after we placed our name on their kiosk. The Wait staff are super friendly and attentive. Menu is almost the same as the other location and I had the Moco Loco. The Coffee is really good and I also had ordered a single Ala cart Pancake. I did see that they had an Ube pancake but honestly the Moco Loco and coffee were the highlights of breakfast for me. The other food that came out was good too and we had also ordered food go. Everything was perfect and it makes almost the same great service and. Great food as the other location. Either Hangout is about the same but Wc seems to have a little more dining space indoors. With impeccable, friendly service; super clean dining room and restroom; and plenty of room between tables, The Hangout is a must go location. I heard another location of the Hangout opened up in Walnut Creek and that they served Ube Pancakes. It was a no brainer that I had to visit this locaysh. First off, I had no idea this part of Walnut Creek existed. It's in the cuts but surprisingly it was pretty busy for a random Thursday. This location is definitely bigger which was nice. They even offer outdoor seating like the pleasant Hill location. We were seated right away. And we ordered the following: - Gai gra prow - chick Katsu curry - ube pancakes - ube iced latte All were so good! We've had the pad gra pow & chick Katsu curry and they're identical to the pleasant hill location. But their pancakes were sooo good. They had crisp edges and were fluffy in the middle. First time trying out the location in Pleasant Hill. We were given the option to sit inside or outside and we selected outside in their tent. It had a cute flower arrangement hanging above, the only thing that I noticed was how hot it got as the day progressed. So dress lightly if you want to sit outside. They may have a different set up for summer. I ordered the white mocha caramel and the hour long bottomless mimosas. The coffee was really good, and sweet. The bottomless mimosas come in a pitcher that they serve based on your juice choice. Our server encouraged us to drink up, which was awesome! The menu is a little overwhelming, so yelp helped us decide, I ordered the combo French toast combo. My husband got the chicken and waffles. The presentation was beautiful on all items we selected. My husband said the chicken and waffles were good but the chicken wasn't seasoned, but he liked the spicy maple syrup they served. Overall, it was a good experience. Ohhh wee! Breakfast was awesome! I had the crab cakes Benedict and the chocolate banana French toast. I was having a hard time concentrating because I was far from home and the newly christened ex was being shown the door by my sisters and I was getting blow-by-blow reports. It was definitely the most flavorful plate. The breakfast platter? I think, it was a lot. You can probably feed up to 4 people. All the drinks were pretty good as well. This was my first time at this location and I was pleasantly surprised to see a full parking lot. Some locations in walnut creek have small parking areas. I arrived about 10am and wait was about 15 min for 3 people. They were very busy but everything seemed to be moving along. Our waiter was very friendly. The food did take about 30 minutes to come out from ordering, so be prepared for that. Unfortunately, they forgot our pancakes that we had ordered and other tables were getting theirs, so either the cooks or the food runners made a mistake and skipped ours. Our waiter was able to cancel it for us and remove from our bill. Overall the food was a good portion size and good flavor! We ordered 2 different omelettes and the loco moco. The loco moco was curry based but it was not overpowering on the flavor. Seasoning on the patty was good as well. Omelettes were filled, only thing we wish the salads were on a separate plate from the omelette. Overall the restaurant is cute and modern, very busy, and food was good.
