This is our very first visit to any The Hat. We were impressed with the large menu. The line was literally out the door when we arrived, but no more than that. Even though it was very crowded, we got to order in far less than 10 minutes, and were served in less than 10 minutes. They have some specialty fruit drinks, such as Orange Bang, at the refillable soda fountain, which we really liked. All of the food we ordered was very good! The potato salad (made with red skin potatoes) was excellent, creamy and the perfect balance of mustard and mayonnaise. The barbecue beef sandwich was excellent with the perfect amount of dripping sauce. The steak sandwich was very good, with two thin layers of steak running all the way through the entire length of the sandwich, and was tender with no gristle. The Pastrami Burger was almost ridiculous! It had so much delicious pastrami in it, there was no way you could keep it all on there. The burger patty itself was also high-quality. What a sandwich! We also had fries with gravy, where the fries could have been cooked a little more. We were very impressed with this store. They had at least 15 or more employees running around all taking care of business. The drive-thru line seemed to wrap around the entire parking lot, but we didn't join that. We went to The Hat for the first time today. Long line out the door. I was surprised that it only took about 15 min. to make it to the front. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The service was okay but the Rancho Cucamonga in California off the 15 is really good. The ambiance inside felt like home in California. Definitely not my first time but a welcomed addition to LV!!! Open late till 12am to skip lines and still an absolute staple!!! Thinly sliced pastrami plus chili fries is always a go to with a side of gravy is an absolute must with iconic Orange Bang!!! I got the Pastrami Dip and Large Fries. Pastrami Dip I rate a 6.5/10. The pastrami itself is really good and tender, and they give you a lot. The bun lacks a crispy toast and flavor. I think all they put is mustard, maybe if they had a light layer of special sauce it would be really good. Other than that, it just taste like a plain pastrami sandwich. Large Fries is 4/10. Slightly crispy, but thick and chewy, lacks flavor or even just salt. But I will say if you order a large they will give you a whole lot of fries, enough for 2-4 people. There's a lot of customers in there, line reaches the back door, but the employees do a great job with trying to get everybody taken care of. I waited no longer than 10 minutes in line, another 5-10 minutes waiting for the food. I wanted to eat there, but there was no where to eat. Outside is an option, but there's no shade to cover the tables. With how hot it gets outside, it's a shame they don't put umbrellas over the tables. I think it's worth the try. Would I go back? Maybe in the future if the line and wait wasn't so long. And maybe if they seasoned the fries and toasted the bread haha. read more

So first off, the Hat gets 5 stars for service and quantity of food. The staff were awesome. Friendly, courteous, patient. The portions for the onion rings, fries and chili fries were great, but more isnt always better. I will get to that. The food and the restaurant get 2 stars, with one star being deducted due to the visitor (see picture). I got the French Dip. It was good, not great, not outstanding, but decent. Nothing to travel across the city for. The pastrami burger was generous with the pastrami. That being said, the pastrami was a good combination of fat and lean, to be expected, but BLAND. If you are a North Californian, the pastrami at Togos is more flavorful. The chili fries again were heaped with chili, but again, more was not better. If i am gonna get too much spice for chili, i should taste chili. All we got was cumin. Fries and onion rings were again, good, but nothing trip worthy. Portions great though. The hot dog was disappointing, as my son said he could have gone to weinerschnizel for the same thing. I think i see why the lines have dropped for this place. Maybe it was an off night. Stopped here after the hockey game. The line was not very long for the drive thru. I ordered the pastrami dip. It was just ok. I also ordered onion rings and potato salad, which were very good. My main complaint would be that when they asked me if I wanted condiments, I asked for ketchup for my onion rings. When I got home, there were packets of Hunts ketchup in the bag. Gross! We stumbled upon the hat in LA area when we would go visit and looked on Yelp for pastrami burgers this was a go to spot to grab a delicious pastrami burgers. So excited that I made it to order in the drive thru I ordered the famous pastrami dip, the roast beef with aju, grilled cheese, plain cheeseburger, potato salad, chili fries with pickles, large fries, and large onion rings this is for 4 of us including our kids. First like to say the pastrami dip lived up to its hype and is a delicious choice. Perfect amount of flavored meat,soft bread, and nice amount of pickles and is a must to try with the spicy brown mustard sauce! The chili fries is a hit pairs well with the pickles a must try. The roast beef dip we didn't get to due to limited space but is packing that for luck for work. Onion rings and fries are good quality. The potato salad is such an underrated side order for your palate very versatile and delicious pair with a main sandwich of choice. With all this delicious food we got orange bangs for drinks this was a hit with this epic lunch having this drink on the menu as well as many other great drinks is a plus. The service was excellent talk about hustle and bustle and staying poise during the peak hours let's give credit for the folks working here they did great. Took my order with positive vibes and enthusiasm made my drive thru experience everything. Finally got to experience what the hype was all about. Sure the pastrami sandwich was the goal here, but seeing the gigantic chili cheese fries with pastrami going around had me super curious Ordered the 2 items and I was in and out in 30 minutes as a walk in customer. I got home and ate 1/2 the sandwich and it was ok. I live a mile away and the sandwich was soggy. The chili cheese fries with pastrami weighed 2 pounds 9 ounces and I ate and ate, but I didn't make a dent. Leftover city for sure. $17 dollars for it, but as a Leftover it's like a solid brick. It would be nice to order a individual order that isn't so humongous. I threw much of it away, unlike cold pizza the chili fries doesn't eat well as a leftover. Overall $30+ for the 2 items and tasty, but not exceptional flavor. It may be a better experience with friends and sit inside the restaurant and share, but for a individual a chili dog and a drink would be a better plan. The drive thru line may go down in a month or two, but I would recommend parking and dine inside. I'm a long time fan of the Hat, have been to multiple locations in California and have loved it since I was a kid. The Vegas location did not disappoint. So happy to have one here finally!! The ONLY thing I will say that's a negative is that these poor security guards who are directing the traffic are standing in this heat with NO SHADE AND NO COLD WATER!! You gotta do better Hat, it's hot and they need a Big umbrella at the least!! Any other fast food that has employees outside like that has stations to cool them, tarps/canopy's sometimes misters and big jugs of ice cold water. If you've been to the SoCal locations then you know what to expect if you haven't then be prepared for a delicious meal. Food is just so good as you could only expect from the hat. Bread is soft and hold up well to juices. Prices are very reasonable as well with huge portions. Service was quick and friendly. Expect to wait about 30 minutes on line on weekday off peak hours. i saw all the hype online and decided to stop by after the gym. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've had. The first red flag should have been the restroom. The bathroom looked poorly maintained and was dirtier than some public beach restrooms I've seen. I ignored it and ordered anyway, which I now regret. Later that night, I became sick and ended up vomiting for hours. I felt so bad the next day that I had to call out of work. My son was having stomach issues last night and had to use the bathroom several times throughout the night. I woke up having to go myself and going back 5 mins later and then one by one the house was using the bathroom. That was the only thing I ate and I still have the steak sandwich in fridge that I'm scared to touch.
