What a shocker this place was. Headed out to get a late night dinner after working all day and realizing what time it was. Didn't want to go too heavy and didn't want to sit down and have a long dinner so my son took me here. I was surprised that there was a line at least 6-7 cars deep in the drive thru and there was a line inside waiting to order. I suddenly had a feeling that I was at In n Out. Neither of us had been here and it's only been open for about a month so we'll see if the lines die down over time. We had to order a pastrami since it's what they're famous for. We also got a roast beef dip sandwich and got a large order of onion rings to share. We sat and waited in a packed restaurant at 10pm and when our number was called my son went and grabbed it. It comes in a brown bag. The pastrami was huge in comparison to the roast beef. Both were good but I think the pastrami won out for both of us. The thing we couldn't get over was how many onion rings we actually got in that order. We both ate them and took some home and both had some the next day and there were still a few more for one more serving! That was a great serving size for the money. For a quick but quality meal this was the right choice. The music and energy in the place even late night was refreshing.

It's overhyped!! We'd been looking forward to trying The Hat and waited over 2 months for the crowds to die down a bit. Honestly, we were not impressed. The food wasn't bad, but i personally think the pastrami sandwich at Capriottis is much better. The Hat's food just lacked flavour and didn't live up to the hype. We're glad we gave it a try, but it definitely wouldn't be our first choice when we're craving a great pastrami sandwich.

It was really good! I've never had a pastrami sandwich that juicy. The meat was tender, flavorful, and piled so high that it actually needed more bread to balance it out. One sandwich could easily feed two people. I could only eat a quarter of mine, and my boyfriend struggled to finish half of his. The only thing I thought it was missing was Swiss cheese--but even without it, the sandwich was delicious. This place stays busy! The line inside and outside never slowed down the entire time we were there. We were lucky enough to grab a table after waiting for someone to finish their meal. At just $14 a sandwich, the prices were more than fair considering the generous portions and quality. It was worth every penny. In my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice, "I'll be back!"

We kept driving by this place and kept driving because the lines looked ridiculously long and we were always in a rush. Not today. Today we had plenty of time and there wasn't much of a line so we decided to brave it. Plenty of free parking and a short walk to the venue. Once we entered there was a short line. About 5-6 pp in line only and the line went fast. We wanted a pastrami sandwich that would wow us so I chose pastrami dip sandwich. Hubby chose chili cheese fries. The size of the fries! It was enough to feed 3, maybe 4 people. What I like is the self serve dispensers for the drinks. It allows me to go back and get a refill before I left. The pastrami sandwich was also big. It was enough for 2 people to share for sure. They put lots of shaved pastrami in it that spilled out of the bread. My only disappointment was there weren't any au jus to dip the sandwich into or some kind of sauce. The pastrami was also very thin and a bit dry compared to the best pastrami sandwich I've had in the past. We sat outside on a bench because we brought our dog with us. It was late, past 9pm so it was no longer hot. Peanut enjoyed the French fries I'll be back to try their milkshake and other menu item. Still waiting for that wow lol

I finally got the chance to stop by the infamous The Hat. I happened to drive by, noticed the drive-thru line was surprisingly short, and of course I had to jump in and give it a try. I ordered the pastrami dip and the tuna melt. The pastrami was packed with flavor, and the sandwich was huge. My only wish was that it came with some chopped veggies or grilled onions to add a little more texture and balance. Even so, it was a solid, satisfying sandwich. The surprise favorite for me was actually the tuna melt. The toppings really brought everything together, making it flavorful and more enjoyable than I expected. I know they're also famous for their pastrami cheese fries, but I had to save those for another visit. I'll definitely be back to give them a try next time.

I have been a big fan of The Hat for years. We stop by the California locations at least 1x a year. We thought we'd wait for a bit to try this one as it always looks so busy. There was definitely a long line in the drive-thru but inside we were quickly able to order. The wait for the order to be received was maybe 5 min. I don't know but it didn't taste the same somehow. I felt like the fries were a little too stiff like maybe they weren't cooked all the way through. And the pastrami itself tasted different from the Cali locations. I might be being crazy but we'll be stopping next time we're in Cali to verify.

Drive-thru or eat inside, either way, it is worth the wait!! The Pastrami sandwich is a 13/10. The Onion rings with gravy are a 13/10. Service & ambiance are always a 10! Restroom is clean They even have a cute merch tshirt for under $20!

Nothing special. I waited a bit to let the crowds die down. Arrived at 10 and went inside. If you have even been to Ted's Hotdogs in Buffalo, NY, the vibe and look is very similar. The only person on the staff that ack anyone was the guy holding the door open who I think was the manager. The food was uneventful. I ordered the turkey on the French roll, no mayo and add pickles. There was zero flavor. No seasoning at all. The bread was flavorless as well. I added spread when I got home and threw it in the air fryer and still bland. Try onion rings were ok, no dipping sauce, just ketchup packets. The potato salad was the best thing. I ordered just a side of pastrami for my husband since he doesn't eat bread and he thought it was good. Way too many other options in town. Prices were good.

I waited a total of 20 minutes from ordering until I got my food and was pleasantly surprised. I'm so glad I waited until the hype died down before I tried to even attempt to get in line. We ordered the pastrami melt, the chili, and two pastrami dips. The pastrami dips were good. I thought the pastrami had a good flavor and wasn't too salty. The chili was meat chili with no beans and was just okay to me- not my favorite. However, the star of the show for me was the pastrami melt. It had a great flavor and the cheese was not too overpowering. The bread was nice and crispy like a good grilled cheese sandwich. I will definitely be getting that again. The only thing I would change is the slices of the pastrami. They seemed super small and shredded almost. I would prefer a larger slice. I didn't realize the menu was so big and I will definitely be trying other items when I go back!

I finally got around to checking out the hype. I live close by so always knew about the hype was coming from LA. The day it open like OMG line out the door and drive thru. Insane. It still is but not as bad if walk in (drive thru the same always long line). Total luck. Literally walked in and straight to cashier place my order. NOT normal. Five minutes later line almost out the door. I ended up getting the pastrami dip because known for so first time order. I also got wet gravy fries. The pastrami is for real LEGIT. It moist, tasty, and could have just bowl of pastrami be happy. Talk about loaded. One sandwich is huge. I barely put dent in the fries cause was full. The bread sandwich's was on point. Whole sandwich was amazing. The brown gravy fries was tasty. The gravy had great flavor and nice amount covered the fries. So much more of the menu look forward to checking out. Service was five stars. They have it done amount of employees and efficient!!

When heavily hyped restaurants expand to Las Vegas, the strategy is to wait for the lines to die down and for management to work out any kinks before you dine, and I'm so glad I did that. Inside The Hat, my order was taken after a few minutes wait. I found it to be quite organized and efficient, no issues there. Check out the pickup counter and load up on all the little spicy peppers you want to set your mouth on fire. If you're coming with a larger group, expect to split up as most tables seat up to four, and you'd be lucky if the one table that seats more than four isn't in use. When I drove thru The Hat, it was also pretty organized thanks to signage and stanchions. On a Saturday night, we waited the same amount of time we'd wait in an average In-N-Out drive thru - come with this expectation and you won't have an issue. Portion sizes are insanely generous. There really isn't much of a difference between a small order of onion rings and a large - either way they're the best I've ever had! Order the pastrami chili cheese fries and you can feed a family. Their grilled cheese stuffed with pastrami is life changing. Bite after bite, it seems like it never ends lol. Enjoy and ready for leftovers!

As a longtime Las Vegas local, I was excited to finally try this famous California pastrami spot now that it's made its way here. The service was excellent, and even though there was a line inside, it moved quickly. Finding a table once the early dinner crowd rolled in was definitely the bigger challenge! We ordered the chili cheese fries and a pastrami dip sandwich. The fries were absolutely loaded with cheese and piled high. While the chili wasn't really my style, I can totally see why it's so popular with Californians, my husband loved it. Thankfully, the generous amount of cheese more than made up for my lack of enthusiasm for the chili itself. The pastrami dip was the star of the meal. The pastrami was perfectly fatty and flavorful, and the bread was incredibly soft, making every bite delicious. And as simple as it sounds, my favorite part of the meal was the cherry Fanta, it was the perfect pairing. Overall, I can see why this place has such a loyal following. I probably won't be coming often since the chili isn't my favorite, but I'll happily tag along whenever my husband gets one of his chili cravings, especially for that pastrami sandwich and cherry Fanta.

The Hat from California opened on Rainbow in Las Vegas May 6th. There were 3 hour waits in line for the drive through and in the restaurant to order and be seated.?i waited until today the 16th to see if the lines slowed down and got to the restaurant at 10:22. The drive through line was around the corner and the walk in line around the building. Wow!!! however the line moved quickly and it only took 30 minutes to get in and order our food. They have several dozen people working to take orders, cook and prep the food. Amazing the all work so well and coordinated together 5tars. I got our food within ten minutes and it is amazing! The pastrami was superb and sooooooo tasty. The chili cheese pastrami fries were huge and as I found out a meal on its own. They had several people constantly cleaning tables to help clear room for more customers and the did a wonderful job. The wood paneling through really made the restaurant look clean and friendly. This will definitely be one of my favorite eating locations. Next time I'm gonna try their pastrami burgers and onion rings. read more

One of the better chili cheese fries around as long as you get it extra crispy. I usually get mine fully loaded with pastrami and tomatoes n pickles (light cheese). Not too crazy about the gravy but the cheeseburgers are solid. Service is quick and friendly. Nice new clean space with a good amount of parking. Good location and good hours. They're not scared to compete with in n out that's 2 blocks away. The food quality and the hours will be competitive. read more

Listen up! It's hard to beat this place for good old fashioned deliciousness. The only, yes only draw back is it can be a bit pricey . Keep in mind this won't stop me from going here. OK where to start- I went 10ish- line was short- food was out in like 3 mins.... I get home taste the pastrami dip (it does not come with dip) it was mid at best then I ordered potato salad - idk why, didn't want fries- but I open it stick the spoon in and idk wtf this is, hair or what this shit is - im not wiping it all off to see but it was on top in a clump... throwing this away- if I want pastrami ill go to jasons deli - this one was gross esp after finding the mystery hair or trash in my food read more

I had the grilled pastrami, my husband had the pastrami dip and we shared a small onion rings (that can feed three people) and the chili cheese pastrami fries. Visited the new location and had an overall average experience. The restaurant was clean, and it was nice to see the new opening with plenty of menu options available. The portions were generous, and there was a good variety of food to choose from. I tried the chili fries, and while the portion size was good, they were lacking flavor and could have used more seasoning. After a month the wait has certainly calmed down. In and out about 15 minutes. We ordered the pastrami dip, pastrami burger, onion rings, chili fries, and roast beef sandwich. Pastrami very flavorful and plentiful in each item. Honestly a solid fast food go to option. The fries could be more salted but then again I can do that myself. The chili was alright glad we had the option to have it on the side. The onions rings were nicely battered and perfectly fried! I enjoyed it and still have left overs for the next day! read more

We got tired of waiting weeks before the crowd died down, so we got in line with only 8 cars backed up into the street. Still, it took us 1 hour to inch toward the drive-thru order window and another 7 minutes to get our food. Although the wait was bad, the food was excellent! The pastrami sandwiches were just how we remembered them in California. The pastrami was sliced thin and very tender and flavorful. We can only eat half a sandwich at a time. The fries and onion rings were fine as well. I was driving by another day, and the line started at the beginning of the parking lot (not into the street). So I got in line and waited only 30 minutes to get to the ordering window and another 5 minutes to get my food. Eventually, I hope the line decreases to about 10-15 minutes. We will have to see. read more

The food was terrible , such a huge hype for the first week and a half so you would figure the food would be good. No , just terrible not a single taste of anything just tasted plain. Got chili cheese fries , Cheesburger , and fries. Not to mention the fries were not salted at all overall 0/10 would never come here again. almost an hour in the drive thru there was maybe 6 cars i was the 7th, food came out cold and tasted mid at best! Took prolly 10 minutes sitting at the box to get someone to take my order, then another 30 to get my food, which prolly sat for that 30 minutes because it was colder than room temp when i got it. this place is a joke. Chefs were hard at work, but the other Staff looked like they didnt have a clue what they were doing. 0/10 wouldn't recommend, wish i could get my money and time back. read more

I have heard a lot about "The Hat", so tonight I decided to try. Walkimg in, signs pointed to the counter. Ordered pastrami dip and a large onion ring to go. Counter service was fast and efficient, Now for thel food order (sorry no photos). Onion rings, ordered a large order. This was definitely a large order based on quantity. Quality: Onion rings could be better, batter is crispy, but, Onion slices are thin which results in the crispy batter overpowering the Onion. Now on to the reason I tried "The Hat". I ordered a pastrami dip. Pastrami was juicy and had the right amount of pepper to enhance the flavor. The bread complimented the pastrami fairly well. I asked for mustard and pickles, both were minimal. Overall, onion rings were a disappointment, pastrami was decent. Will I return, yes. Additional reviews will.be coming. Overall I would rate my first experience experience with "The Hat" a 3.5. read more

The worst Hat I've been to yet.... Bought two sandwiches for my mother and myself. We both had diarrhea for three days straight after eating. The sandwich was soggy and extremely greasy. I don't know what they are doing wrong but I've never had an experience like this from a Hat ever, and I grew up eating this in California. My step father who did not eat the sandwich did not experience anything. That's how I know it came from here. I won't be back anytime soon F- off ! read more

I have enjoyed great pastrami in NY, LA, and believe it or not on the island town of Anacortes, WA, @ GERE a DELI, so I have tasted the best, but I must say The Hat in LV did not disappoint! Not robustly seasoned but enjoyable with quality marbling! Truly worth the wait of 20 mins at the drive thru! I ordered a pastrami dip on rye with 2 slices of swiss and a small ( but oh so huge!) order of fries!! I have had it in quarter portions daily bec it was HUGE and delish! Highly recommend!! I will be a regular going fwd! Btw, the staff is super friendly and efficient!! Hat's off to the HAT!! read more

Been eating at the the California locations once a year for 20 years. Glad to see this place here in Las Vegas. My first experience at new location went very well walked in and left with my food in less than 20 min. Food was great even after a 20 min drive home !! Pastrami sandwiches and chili cheese fries. So glad the Hat came to Vegas, in Cali they are busy too but in Vegas it's been really busy. Perhaps it's the fact that they are new here and the only location. The Pastrami and chili tasted as good as I remember. We waited in the drive thru for over an hour on an early Friday evening around 5. The Pastrami was filled with meat and extra pickles just like I like it. We ordered 3 pastramis dipped, chili, fries and cheese burger,we spent around $63 In Total. The workers were pleasant when we finally reached the parking lot. I will frequent them from time to time but an hour wait was longer than I expected and longer than Im willing to do on a regular basis. read more

Now I know it's a Pastrami staple, but I tried the Barbecue Beef Sandwich and Chili Cheese Fries. The BBQ Beef sandwich was a 7 out of 10, the sauce saves the day. Now the Chili Cheese Fries weren't bad but they weren't good either, they really had no real flavor, the chili or the french fries. Over all I give The Hat a 5 out of 10 read more

I was supper excited to try The Hat in Las Vegas, NV. These pastrami sandwiches looked so damn good on all the advertisements. My wife and I each got the pastrami sandwich which was $13 + tax per sandwich and fries were $6 bucks. Total $34 for our order. Kind of expensive and everything is À la carte on their menu. All good though, I was all in. Got home to hot sandwiches and was immediately disappointed upon first bite. The meat was overcooked the fries were soggy. My dog ended up eating most of my sandwich/fries. It was not a good experience to say the least. I'm all about second chances so might try them down the road, but right now I would steer clear. Perhaps they need to work out the kinks. read more

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, was familiar with The Hat but there were none in the city of Los Angeles, they were all on the outskirts in Orange County and the San Gabriel Valley mostly. Never heard a lot of hype about it but when I heard they were coming to Vegas, where great pastrami is extremely rare I decided to try it. I waited in line for over an hour, when I ordered, my pastrami did come very very fast. It was just average, not good, I didn't quite finish the whole thing, just bland and not much flavor. Definitely doesn't compare it to Johnnies in LA. And definitely not worth the long wait. Farmer Boys used to have much better pastrami, but all the sudden about a year ago they stopped serving pastrami. Then I went back for a hamburger and pastrami was back on the menu, I ordered it and it was horrible and they give you far less meat than they used to while it costed more, I believe $18. Apparently they changed vendors and are now getting different meat. Oh well, I guess I'll keep searching for good pastrami in Vegas. Wild Fig in Summerlin has excellent pastrami, however it's not sliced thin, it's a huge piece, kind of like a piece of brisket you would get at a barbecue place. It's fantastic but not your traditional pastrami sandwich that most are used to. read more

If you have any mobility issues you are screwed unless you want to stay in your car and drive up or in a wheelchair for the walk up. If you have ANY health issues the salt in everything will destroy you and if you still want to die you can still technically eat here as long as you hook up to dialysis first and start flushing which should be great if you have Davita truck follow you or you have a unit in your vehicle as you'll be 40 minutes into dialysis before you order and another 20 before you touch the bag and you can start pissing out ice cream rock salt. I do miss the socal atmosphere of gang banger shooting at each other over turf and drug wars and hiding behind the quaint bulletproof stucco and sign that stayed the same .....it just doesn't feel the same ....but the sandwich size has remained the same at least even though price doubled but, the 40 minute to a hour wait is a PITA!!! I guess we'll have to wait for a new Chinese plague to get the crowd thinned out or the new shiny penny Exhilarating woo woo factor wears off and all the vehicle traffic stops looking like sperm looking for an egg. Even so, it still felt like I was there a while since I went through the drive-thru. I ordered the well-done chili cheese fries with pastrami, a small onion rings, and a large Orange Bang. The onion rings were warm, crispy, evenly coated, and had a really nice flavor- simple but solid. The pastrami chili cheese fries were good, but honestly unexpected in size. They were HUGE. Definitely come hungry or be ready to share, because this could easily feed 2-4 people. The Orange Bang was exactly how I remember it - sweet, creamy, and light. It worked perfectly as a palate cleanser between bites. Overall, portions are very generous, the food hits that classic comfort spot, and you'll definitely leave full. My stepson had the Pastrami Dip and he said it tasted like Caprioti's Pastrami. I had the Pastrami Melt, which I thought was pretty good. Chili cheese fries were really disappointing. Shredded cheese had a weird taste. Chili was severely under seasoned. Fries weren't anything special. Service was really good though, they work fast and been working hard since they opened. Pastrami was ok, there are MUCH better sandwiches in the valley! Beef was crazy dry, terrible with no taste so to speak! Chili-cheese fries were okay when still hot but little to no spice, no good nice home! Onion rings had zero taste and were also very dry! The pastrami was definitely the highlight of the meal--tender, flavorful, and worth ordering.
