I got the Keep Joy drink which is a strawberry matcha latte with a biscoff cookie. The drink was weirdly very dense and creamy..... I would not recommend it. The matcha flavor was nonexistent. The price tag was an astronomical $9.48 and there is also an additional charge if you want to substitute whole milk.
Got the Keep Joy (strawberry matcha) and Keep Dance Matcha (coconut + spirulina matcha)!! Honestly was a little disappointed with Keep Joy. I think there was too much cream to matcha ratio; it honestly tasted like I was drinking milk HOWEVER, Keep Dance Matcha was *chefs kiss* It was so sweet, creamy, coconutty, and matchay!!! There's a Keep Dance Coffee too, I'd want to try that next time if it's not a seasonal item! The drinks came out super quickly and I love the mismatched furniture! A fan of this quirky interior!
One of the newer coffee shops in Kearny Mesa, I remember seeing the "hype" of it on social media. Tried it today for the first time and it does not live up to the hype. $8-$9 lattes? No thanks, don't care how good it tastes, I refuse to pay that much for a latte. Service and atmosphere was good, but that's about it. I opted for a more basic drink, an americano. 12 Oz comes with a double shot and 16 oz comes with a triple and I must say, the coffee doesn't pack a punch and is weak. They had three different beans to choose from, which was nice, but I wish the coffee was less watered down. More cons than pros here in my opinion. Cons: Parking sucks, expensive drinks, weak watered down coffee. Pros: good service, nice atmosphere. Not enough for me to come back, I wouldn't recommend.
Was looking for a place to lay low before my next event -- this spot seemed pretty cool. Here was my experience. AMBIANCE Parking: Plaza and street parking available. Seating: Indoor seating with a mix of styles -- good for groups or solo visitors. Probably room for about 30-40 people. Vibes: Welcome to Convoy! Tons of eateries and coffee shops nearby, and sometimes even community events happening around the area. The space itself is spacious and low-key, with clean light wood accents and seasonal décor. I appreciated the Olivia Dean soundtrack playing in the background -- added to the chill energy. Great natural lighting makes it a solid study or social spot. FOOD/DRINKS Keep Coffee Matcha Latte (Recommend): Their signature "cloud" (sweet marshmallow foam) is a fun touch. The matcha delivered that classic earthy flavor, and the cloud added a creamy sweetness that balanced it nicely. Not overly sugary -- just smooth and enjoyable. SERVICE Great service -- friendly staff and my order came out quickly. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Wonderful. Good flavors, solid pricing, and a comfortable environment. Convoy has no shortage of coffee shops, but this one stands out for its charm -- spacious, friendly, and productivity-friendly. It's was $9 for a cup of milk. They put some sort of cream topping but it's not necessary with how milk heavy this drink is. I read somewhere that it's 4 shot but I don't think that's true. The tai tea was even worse at least when we got home we could add more coffee to the cup of milk they call a latte. I like sweet and milky coffee but this was very disappointing.
it was okay coffee. limited parking, also note that you will have to pay for parking. Coffee were pretty. taste was okay. small room, limited seating that was quick to be filled in by kids reviewing. service was okay. since students stay longer the place and floor gets icky. needs a little clean up.
went on a friday morning and it wasnt too busy. interior is cute. the parking lot is tiny and a lot of the spaces are reserved for other businesses in the strip mall. they WILL tow you, when we walked back to the car one of the business owners was calling a tow truck on us. -keep x (4/5): so pretty! decent black sesame flavor though i felt it couldve been a little stronger, LOVED how thick the whipped cream was. was also buzzing since their drinks all have 3 shots in them -their drinks are around $9-10 which is kinda outrageous, BUT all their coffee drinks come with 3 shots so the pricing kinda evens out overall, cute coffee shop with aesthetic drinks that taste pretty good, but are also quite pricey. would be down to come back and try their other menu items since they are pretty interesting and i love a cute drink, but likely wouldnt be a regular given the high price point
We'd heard great things about this place and decided to give it a try, so glad we did. We ordered the Keep Matcha and the Keep Latte (without syrup), and both tasted incredibly fresh, vibrant, and fun. You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and how the drinks are crafted. The place has a great vibe going, and it's clear they're serving their customers really well. It's a bit on the pricier side, though. Definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a quality coffee experience.
An interesting and fairly new coffee shop and hangout in Kearny Mesa near the intersection of Convoy and Clairemont Mesa. It's right next to O Zone Billiards. The interior is really spacious and minimalistic, with a grand piano in the center of the room, plenty of seating, and lots of electrical outlets to boot. Strangely enough, I had a kind of reverse experience here. Usually, I find that coffee shops tend to mask the lower quality (or burntness) of their beans through their fancier espresso drinks. At The Keep, the straight Supernova espresso shot was absolutely delicious and super high-quality. On the other hand, the latte was overly milky, to the point that I couldn't taste the Ethiopian espresso at all. I think they need to balance the milk and additives in their drinks to help make their very tasty beans shine. I'll have to come back sometime soon to try another drink and a pastry so I have a more well-rounded understanding of The Keep's offerings. It sure seems like people love it--the place was packed and my latte took about 15 minutes to make. Update: My second visit to The Keep bumped the cafe from 4/5 to 5/5. This go around, I ordered the Ethiopian espresso I first tried in the latte my first visit. It was delicious! The roasts they're using are incredible. I like the Supernova a bit more due to the citrus notes, but this one was solid as well. I also had a cortado with Brazilian beans. It was really good too. Finally, I tried a pastry, opting for the chocolate croissant. They heated it up for me and it was super flavorful and flaky. I have a feeling this place got stars knocked off from being so hyped up and busy during its opening months, which likely led to a pace of business that was extremely difficult to serve consistently. Now that they're in the swing of things, I can confidently say it's in my top 10 coffee shops in San Diego county.
This is a cute little coffee shop offering creative and unique drinks that put a twist on traditional coffee offerings. Their sweet cream that goes on-top of their drinks is great and the space is peaceful and spacious offering many areas to sit and enjoy your drink or to work from. The staff is friendly and effect and we had a very little wait for our drinks despite the amount of people present. Parking is interesting but don't let it discourage you from this quaint off the beaten path stop. The coffee itself was good, perhaps a bit bitter and acidic but mixed in the drinks it offers a nice balance for the tasty iced and hot options. I look forward to coming back and trying the bean specific options to get a better grasp on the flavor profile of each of their roasted bean options.
Keep Coffee gives off an LA warehouse coffee shop vibe. The location isn't ideal with not much parking. The matcha is just okay, kind of watered down. Have not tried the coffee however. The service was quick and they were very nice to us! Matcha V: a black sesame topped matcha drink, it's on the sweeter side but neither the matcha nor the black sesame stand out here. Pink Matcha: a strawberry topped matcha drink, which tasted more like water than matcha. The only saving grace of this drink were the strawberry bits near the end of the drink. read more
Would give this place a 3.5 stars! I love the concept especially since there aren't a lot of places like this in San Diego. I got the Keep Coffee which was good- it wasn't overly sweet and had a strong coffee flavor. Even though I would be down to come back to try their other cream top drinks, I would be a little more hesitant due to the price of them (almost $9 for 1 after tax). I understand you pay for quality but it's just a too pricey for me especially because there are places in LA with the same drinks but cheaper. I would also be down to go somewhere else for a perfectly good latte for cheaper as well. The parking can be a hassle since a lot of them are reserved for the nearby businesses and it can get super busy. Overall Keep is good and worth a try. read more
My husband and I are always looking for new cafes and came across this place based on the raving reviews of their Thai tea. We ordered the Thai tea and matcha with whipped cream. Both drinks were ok with subtle sweetness. There was a bit too much whipped cream and not enough of the drink itself. It was hard to drink with all the whipped cream. We also got their garlic cream cheese bagel which was our favorite!! It was toasted and the cream cheese was light and fluffy! Would go again just for the bagel. The service was ok, not the greatest, since my bagel was done and the waiter just placed it on the counter without calling out. I had to ask if that was my bagel after staring at it for 5 minutes. Ambiance was spacious for a cafe shop. Plenty of seating. read more
The keep matcha latte was tasty but could have stronger matcha flavor. I mixed all the whipped cream at the top and I wish I didn't, it made the matcha taste more mild. The keep latte was excellent though! The coffee was so smooth, not bitter or acidic. Would come back for the keep latte for sure! The service was great, a little of a wait time for the drink but there were also a lot of customers when we got there at 10:30am. Ambiance is nice and vibey, there's just a lot of people right now since it's newer. Would recommend!! read more
It's pretty good but not great -- had high expectations so might need to revisit after the hype chills out a bit. The baristas try their best to get drinks out, but it takes a while, so just be warned if you're more of a grab-and-go person. Cool interior and a good amount of seating but it was too stuffy and hot for us to hang out after we got our drinks (their thermostat read 81 degrees!). The espresso in the keep latte was nice and strong, personally the whipped cream doesn't do a lot for me. Same with the matcha. With oat milk it's about $18 for the two specialty drinks, so I think I'll get a more standard coffee next time. read more

The service was warm and welcoming! I'm a huge matcha fan so thought it was only right to try the Keepjoy. It was ok. I felt it had too much heavy cream, although I ask for almond milk?? I wouldn't order it again. Loved the garlic cream cheese bun! It was sweet and savory. 10/10. The real reason for the 4 star is due to the person (someone that works there) talking loud af in the corner "office" on speaker. It's rude. People spend their money to enjoy the drinks, food, and the environment. It's unnecessary and it killed the vibe. I wanted to love this place. read more

It's pretty good coffee overall, I just wasn't that big of a fan of how much whipped cream is on the drink. The whipped cream is also home made so it's really tasty and creamy but it was a little too much. Would recommend this place ! Also very quick on getting your drink out. This is my third visit to Keep Coffee and it never disappoints. I've tried the seasonal drink twice now, and the matcha and strawberry combination is perfection. Their bagels are also incredible, fresh and full of flavor. There is plenty of seating which makes it a comfortable spot to hang out, and the service is always so friendly. I also really appreciate that they're open into the afternoon, which makes it so convenient to stop by. Keep Coffee is one of those local gems I love supporting, and it always feels worth it. read more

insanely good matcha. I'd been seeing videos of this place on TikTok and was in the area on my birthday so I stopped by with my friends. I got the signature keep matcha with oat milk & vanilla. that whip topping on the matcha really sets in the star factor. I try matcha everywhere I go and this was genuinely one of the best ones I've had. there was also plenty of space inside to sit and the inside was aesthetically pleasing. definitely would go back next time we're in the area! read more

This spot has some really cool coffee drinks! The food is limited but if you get there early there's usually a few options. The service is counter service so you'll get a little pager to be notified of your order. I will say the parking situation is less than ideal but the space is worth the annoyance. I clearly keep coming in lol. read more
Such a cute edition to the lacking convoy coffee scene! I love the decor and the chill music playing I can see it being a great place to read or catch up with friends. We ordered the keep signature drink which was delicious. The coffee itself was good and it's topped with a homemade whip cream. I do wish the coffee itself was sweeter though because I feel like it would go with the whip cream more. Overall, I'm glad this is a new edition to convoy and I'm excited to see how it grows. read more

100% will come back. First in line at 730am before work. I wanted something strong and this one was on my list. I had the Keep X which was the Vietnamese coffee with a house made whip with black sesame and salted caramel. It was very very good. My friend had the strawberry matcha which was very good as well. The ambience inside was cute and athletically pleasing. It's very simple and a great place to do some work here. read more

I really wanted to give Keep Coffee a second chance after seeing so many positive reviews and tiktok. My first visit, I ordered a regular matcha latte. The matcha itself was good quality, but the drink was very grainy, almost as if it wasn't sifted or whisked properly. On my second visit, I ordered the Keep Latte and the cream cheese garlic bun, but unfortunately, I left disappointed again. The latte came with house whip, but it was barely sweet at all (I had to add syrup myself), which was especially frustrating considering it cost $8. The bun, on the other hand, was overly sweet since the cream cheese seemed to be mixed with sugar. Lastly, the service was not welcoming. When we walked in, the young woman at the front didn't greet us and came across as having a bit of an attitude. When we were ready to order, she just looked at us without acknowledging or asking what we'd like. Maybe it was just an off day for her, but it did leave a bad impression and vibe. I really wanted to love this place, but overall I was disappointed with both the drinks and the service. read more

The drinks are good but there's a lot of foam and ice. The garlic bagel is good but it's kinda sweet. Service was good and there's plenty of seating. The inside is big and there's 2 communal tables you could bring a laptop and work at. read more

I tried the matcha with lavender foam and cream with oat milk. It was good, wasn't too sweet and it was creamy. The garlic cream cheese bun was amazingg, the cream cheese was a bit sweet which threw me off guard but regardless it was good and complimented well with the garlic. read more

If you know me, I am always on the hunt for a good matcha. The Keep Coffee has delivered. I ordered their signature Keep Matcha, a matcha drink with cold foam, and it was decent! I think it wouldve been so good with strawberry puree though (I am a bit biased towards my strawberry matcha lattes). I'm a bit curious as to what matcha powder they used though, as it tastes a bit too similar to the Costco matcha I used to buy before I discovered real ceremonial matcha powder. Loved the drinks here! The keep joy was most definitely better than the keep Thai. Waited a lil while but they give you a buzzer that vibrates and beeps when your order is ready. A lot of people were doing computer work here and it was a pretty big space for people to come study. read more
I found this store because I really liked the presentation of their drinks. I personally really like the whipped cloud coffee (keep coffee). The cream on top is really soft and mixing it with the drink tasted good. However, the matcha did not taste as good and was more disappointing. The powder didn't mix in well and you would be able to take sips of just the powder. Some sips would have more matcha taste and others would taste more like milk. The flavor wasn't as good as other matchas i've had elsewhere. read more

If you've seen this place all over social media, just know it's overall pretty mid. The bagel was not all that great, the parking (not their fault, but something to keep in mind) is terrible. The matcha was okay, it was tasty & looked really pretty but if you want traditional matcha & not a sweet treat don't get any of their cloud drinks. I wasn't really impressed by it or their customer service or the way the check out / pick up process worked. There is a lot of space & the vibe is nice so if you need to study or anything this place would be really great for that! read more

we were doing a day trip to SD and our first stop was keep coffee! we were excited to try this place out, but it wasn't that great. there's limited parking spots, and when we did find parking it was at a nearby liquor store in the same plaza and an employee or owner of the liquor store came out to tell us we aren't allowed to park there for some reason, even though we didn't plan on staying long. luckily a spot infront of the coffee shop opened up as we were heading back to the car. this location is huge and spacious, there was alot of people inside either doing work or just chatting up. it does get pretty loud in here. the owners were really sweet and gave great recs. we got the: *keep matcha *keep latte *keep thai tea i personally didn't like my matcha one but the other ones were just okay. read more
I love this coffee shop! The keep latte with the homemade whip is my favorite. I love that it's not too sweet and the perfect amount of creamy. It is pretty steep at $8 but it's not an everyday coffee. A lot of small tables inside but fills up on the weekends. Parking can be slightly tough since most of the other spots in the lot are dedicated to surrounding businesses. read more

I've came here a few times now because of the Keep Latte with salted caramel. It is super delicious and not too sweet considering all the whip cream they add (usually mix it all together). I also really like the space inside as I have worked here before, and the service has always been 10/10. My only negative and the reason I am giving them 4 stars is because of the prices. I know prices have gone up but $10 for a drink is a bit ridiculous. That said, would I go again? Yes - just not as frequent as my other places. read more

Came here around 10AM, service was pretty fast and the staff were so kind. Interesting environment, honestly think the furniture looked a bit uncomfortable to study in just based off first impressions. They did have outlets which is a plus! I did like the garlic cream cheese bagel! I think the matcha signature drink was a bit sweeter than I was expecting but I truly didn't mind it as much as it was pretty aesthetic! I would be willing to try the Thai flavor next time! read more

We came in on a Friday morning after seeing them on Instagram. The parking lot they are located in is very tight and we spent 10 mins trying to find parking. When we came inside we ordered the Match and Thai tea cloud drinks but had to wait another 20 mins for the drinks. The interior is cool with a bunch of camping chairs but not ideal for a spot to study to relax. The drink looked good but I wasn't happy with how hard it was to mix and the overall taste of the drinks. read more

First time visiting this spot, and it was an amazing experience! As a big fan of matcha, I've had my share of disappointing drinks, so I was a little skeptical about trying their matcha--but I'm so glad I did! Their matcha is super creamy, and the foam on top takes it to another level. It might be too creamy for some, but I personally loved it. The vibes inside are great too! The decor gives off a retro minimalist feel, and there's even a random piano in the center. I'm not sure if it's used for live performances or just for ambiance, but it definitely adds character. The service was fantastic! The woman who took our order was so friendly and even suggested alternative drinks for my friends who don't like matcha. Overall, I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back! read more

I love keep coffee they have really good yummy drinks!!! Ive tried their keep thai tea and the keep latte and i loved both of them. Their drinks are not too sweet (i mean this as an asian compliment ifykyk lol). Def pricy but it is more of a treat than an everyday coffee. I usually come alone after work or to study and they are always so sweet. It can be a little busy at times but theres plenty of seating which is nice!! The style of the furniture reminds me a lot of the cafes in koreatown los angeles. Good vibes here in general c: read more

Came here at 730am on a Sunday morning wanting coffee and bagels - this place was a good option. The matcha was great in my option and the black sesame for the latte v was strong. The bagels were super sweet but cool to try - if you're not a sweet person then this might not be for you, I couldn't finish the bagel in one sitting. The interior was beautiful and had plenty seating! The server was nice and provided us with plates and utensils for our bagels. read more
