Terrible all around. Ordered online for curbside pick up arrived to pick up, parked as instructed and waited. Called the restaurant and selected the option "here to pick up curbside". Phone was answered and immediately I was put on hold where I sat for 10 minutes. Turned the car off wet inside to see two tables with customers four employees standing around talking to each other. It was around 5pm. Walked up to the counter and was ignored. Bewildered girl behind the counter finally acknowledged me and I told her I've been on hold for 10 minutes and sitting outside trying to pick up my pizza and she looked at the phone as if she wasn't sure exactly what a phone is. I gave my name multiple times and she finally located the pizza. Now for the pizza. It was $30 ($24 pizza plus tax plus tip ) for a personal size pizza although I ordered a large pizza it was the tiniest thing I've ever seen. You can see from the picture how tiny the slices were against a regular size steak knife. Also, the pizza was a soggy as can be as you can see that the slice doesn't even stand up. This past Sunday night was pizza time in Port Jeff for my girlfriend and I. Well, the real reason for the trip was her extreme craving for garlic bread, and I figured, why not try someplace new? I'm pretty pleased to say I'm glad The Pie was our pizza (and garlic bread) of the night. Nestled right towards the beginning of the hustle and bustle in the heart of Port Jefferson is this Italian spot. I say Italian as the menu serves up pasta choices, parmigiana options, salads, apps, and colossal calzones...oh, and pizza of course (coal fired). We decided to get garlic bread (shocker!) with melted mozzarella cheese to start and then split a pie (more on that in a sec). The g-bread came circular like a tiny pizza of garlicky cheesy goodness. It was coal fired just like the pies so it gave off a good initial flavor from the bread and a nice hit from the finely chopped garlic and creaminess of the mozzarella. On to pizza. With many styles to decide on, we had a dilemma on what to choose. But then Yelp prevailed! Other Yelpers posted pics of specialty pizzas split in half, so we asked and it was all systems go. We went with a large half blanco and half rustica. The blanco was loaded with creamy ricotta and gooey mozzarella and was a quality version of this type. The rustica was a little more unique with mozzarella, broccoli rabe, sausage, and roasted red pepper (sans tomato sauce). The first bite was a bit dry as the rabe wasn't really sautéed. But once reaching all ingredients (red pepper saved it), the slice was a great combo of flavors. I don't want to forget to mention the ambiance. For a pizza place it was pretty contemporary in style and emanated a different kind of restaurant with its bunches of lighted vines laced along the ceiling and hints of autumn with a touch of class to it all. With low lighting, it set a great mood for the evening. Overall, The Pie doles out good dough worth diving into. the pie restaurant at port jefferson went to the restaurant in february 2024, ordered a plain pizza. received a pie covered in black flakes from the burnt and never cleaned oven. on top of it, a few basil leaves and it was so great that one of my children was uncontrollably and violently vomiting. the administration sent a cleaning person who dutifully and thoroughly smeared the vomit all over the floor. today, the children wanted to go there again, i didnt want to, but they asked and i could not say no ordered the same thing, came in clean, nice, however, i was charged for a margerita pizza not the plain. not only they are filthy, thieving and theyr customer service is non-existing. beware, stay away.... read more

When you walk in the first thing you notice (depending on what time/day you go) is a sea of people! They really know how to pack the tables in! Personally I think the decoration is very nice. Dim lighting and nice big wooden booth seats that can seat up to 3 adults comfortably. The entire staff that I encountered was sweet and helpful. We ordered fried ravioli appetizer, ravioli with meat sauce, medium clam pie and buffalo chicken pie. Both ravioli dishes were delicious! My friend got the buffalo pizza and said it was very good. He enjoyed the crust specifically he had mentioned. I found my clam pizza to be bland. The crust was extremely thin and while they may be some peoples thing, my pizza was extremely soggy because of it and it was hard to fold in half. The pizza consisted of a white pizza base with some chopped clams tossed on top. No flavor to the clams at all. No extra flavor to the bland white pizza. Womp womp. For our drinks we ordered wine and beer (they gots no booze license!) My friend ordered a beer so I asked for a stout but to my dis fortune they only have light beers. I order wine in place & the Merlot I ordered was delightful! All in all our dinner was enjoyable. One thing to note was that it was almost obnoxiously loud. But hey- it's an Italian restaurant. I finally managed to use up the entirety of a $100 Pie gift card I got for Christmas. Five pies later and if you asked me to sum this place up with two words I'd say "overcooked and overpriced". Ever since I noticed they like to burn the bottom of the crust I started politely asking them to "lightly" cook the pizza. Yet without fail, every pizza I ordered came out burnt. Overpriced- a large plain pie will cost you $20 and is about 1/4 the total size and weight of your standard $15 NY cheese pie. A pie with toppings could run you close to $30. Adjust your prices and stop burning the pizza and you can have some stars. read more

I have been remiss by not reviewing The Pie earlier. My wife and I have been regulars there for fifteen years. In my opinion, their pizza is the best on Long Island. Hands down. Any of their pizzas are good, but we always order a margarita with toppings like prosciutto and red pepper. Make sure to order the pizza well done. We also love the house salad which includes candied walnuts. Very delicious. Here's a hack, ask the server for an extra side of salad dressing and dip your pizza crust in it. Life changing. One of the things we love about The Pie is that they have the best server on Long Island. Kerri is absolutely the best at her job of anyone in any restaurant around. I always tell my wife that if we ever open our own restaurant I will poach her to run the front of the house. She's that good. The only reason that I haven't given five stars is the wine list. The mark up on wines at The Pie is around 700%. A$6 bottle of Mirrasou is $42. Come on. Greedy. Margarita pizza was pretty good nice tasting sauce good amount of cheese. The Gnocchi was very good , great tasting sauce with a nice amount of meat in the sauce very tasty & very filling. Delivery: There is a 5$ delivery charge no one told me about which really annoyed me because I had already tipped the driver before I realized (I paid with credit over the phone). I visited The Pie with my cousin and had a really great time. The location is convenient as it is right across from the municipal parking lot at the Port Jefferson marina. The experience was unique being that we are in the middle of a pandemic, however- the staff made it pleasant and it felt like just another day.
