Thunder Cafe is usually hit or miss. There's a pretty decent selection of food and during special events, they have a nice special menu. Staff is usually pretty attentive, but the food itself really depends on who's cooking in the back. You can tell when there's new people because there's a lot of mistakes...and usually when we go, something ends up going back for not being cooked all the way (such as the center of a pizza being doughy). Other than that, its pretty clean in here, well lit and the air quality is a lot better than a few steps away on the casino floor. It is the best casino restaraunt around.They have an automatic kiosk that tells your phone when your table is ready (holiday waiting list).The managers are on their game here. This food here is wonderful. If I had to compare it to something it would resemble a high class Denny's. I only say that because they have a wide range of food on their menus. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, you name it. It's very homely and even if you're new to the restaurant the waiters/waitresses make you feel like you've been going there for years. Six feet from the hostess podium was a T-stand informing guests they can check in (avoiding the wait) by scanning the QR code. I scanned, entered my first name and mobile #. The webpage showed details - est wait time (15 min), my place in line, and added a refresh button. Ten minutes passed and I received a text message my table was ready. The assistant manager greeted and seated me in a booth, forgot his name, but was dressed professional. My server Karen greeted me and took my order. Ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast. eggs sunny, hash browns, biscuit, and a gravy on the side. Food arrived perfect except my biscuit was broken up into three messy pieces. Karen replaced it with sourdough toast right away! Eggs were perfect! Hash brown crispy and soft inside, and chicken fried steak was crispy outside and just right inside. I initially ate here for my birthday dinner on January 13th. My husband and I ordered the thunder chicken nachos, beef bourginon and a cheeseburger. The service was friendly and fast. I have no complaint on my dining experience there. My rating is based on my to go orders. Two days in a row, I got an order of garlic fries. Both days, it took awhile to get my order. The first day, it took over 20 minutes to get, and i think it's only because i started to look annoyed, so they finally got my order from the kitchen? I don't know..like the cafe wasnt busy. The staff was standing around, so I felt it shouldn't have taken close to half an hour for GARLIC FRIES!! Hungry hungry.... This is the perfect place for late night snackies if your hungry inside the casino. Not sure if they are open 24 hrs or just only open 24 hrs on the weekends. I had visit this cafe twice in one month and i got a good experience each time. Came back so often to check up on use and topping off all our drink glasses. Her tip was a big one, i ended up tipping 30% extra. FOOD Chicken quesidilla - i had one of those foodie cravings and end up getting this order. The presentation was colorful and appetizing. There was a big slab of guacamole and sour cream. The cheese was extra cheesy and steaming hot melted with the tortilla. A sprinkle of tabasco on the quesidilla really gave it a kick. A favorite of all time is their slab of prime rib. Love the medium rare slice paired with mash, and fresh veggies. With extra ajus juice please. The meat is tender and they give you a big portion for only 18 bucks i believe. Paired well with a glass of house red wine. Also the american breakfast platter is great here. who doesn't like an american style breakfast with bacon, sausages, eggs, and hash brown with some toast. Overall i prefer this place over the food court. Sometimes i come here later where the buffet is closed so i come to this spot instead for the convenience. Saturday March 23, 2019. We ordered the all-American breakfast and buffalo wings. The buffalo wings came mild or hot so we decided on getting it mild. The chicken wings were very salty, we will avoid ordering that next time. The waiter was very sweet and attentive. He came back to our table quite often to ask if we needed anything else? After a horrible experience at High Steaks restaurant, a fun R. Kelly concert, and drinking at the Mingle Bar; we were starving! We wondered over to Thunder Café because the lines at all the other places were ridiculously long and we enjoyed our food at the café before. Luckily they have a countertop which you can place an order to-go instead of dine which turned out to be very convenient on this busy night. Hubby was starving so I ordered him the Bacon Lovers Burger which consists of 2 burger patties wrapped in bacon, caramelized onions, chipotle bacon aioli, jack cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a ciabatta bun with a side of fries. And sadly I can't eat late night like I use to so I ordered the Wonton Soup. Yes wonton soup LOL, the great thing about the Thunder Café is the menu is huge; items ranging from Soup, Pizza, Pasta, Gourmet Burgers, Sandwiches, Breakfast, Steaks, Seafood, Salads, etc. I think this maybe one of the most diverse menus I have ever seen. This menu is perfect for late night eating after drinking and gambling! We grabbed our food (after a pretty long wait) and caught our shuttle. When we arrived to the hotel room, we quickly opened up our containers; to my Hubby's delight this burger was enormous!!!! Cooked perfectly (medium), tasted wonder, and scented our room with delicious burger smells. Oh my soup was good too. . .but I did have to take a bite of this burger. Hubby could not finish his meal, but of course heated it up for breakfast LOL! This review is for Ashten who helped us at the dessert station tuesday evening. My sister in law and I were checking out what kind of goodies were there after we finished dining at the cafe for dinner with our families. Ashten asked us in a upbeat and friendly manner if there was anything she could assist us with. I didn't see any carrot cake in any of the display shelves so I thought I would ask and thankfully so! She informed me that there surely are slices in the back area that she would be more than happy to get for me and informed me that the slices are very large and that I would be happy with the choice! She also mentioned how she will add a second fork in the bag for us since the slice of cake is really big. After I was finished hubby came along and saw the donuts so Ashten was able to help us out with the donut. Then my sister in law mentioned to Ashten how our mother in law always raves about how scrumptious the cinnamon bread is there however the last few times she went they were no longer selling them or had sold out. We couldn't find them again a few minutes ago however Ashten once again came around and showed us where to find them. My sister in law grabbed what we thought was the last one and felt super happy! When she went to pay for the bread Ashten frowned a bit and said normally there is a lot more glaze on the bread and came around again and found us another one with a lot more glaze! She went above and beyond her customer service and could have simply sold us what we had in hand however she wanted to try and give us the best she could provide which is so greatly appreciated! When I went back to our hotel room to enjoy the carrot cake I took the container out of the bag and found her happy note hand written on the lid! Everything I have had there is fantastic from the steaks to the lasagna and the liver and onions hard to find anywhere these days but it was perfect. The soups are fresh and flavorful and the clam chowder is among the best I have had. I went with my grown son for my birthday yesterday, we had half rack of bbq ribs they were awesome as was the chocolate cake I had and to my surprise they even wrote happy birthday on the plate and put a candle in it, for a place that is 24 hours and busy much of the time I appreciated this extra attention. I wanted to treat myself to something indulgent and ordered the colossal onion rings and a charbroiled New York Steak as my entree. The dining area is pretty casual and is great for a bite after a run on the machines or table games. The cafe is not swanky at all and prices on the menu resonate that. The appetizer is something you'd expect at The Cheesecake Factory. The crispy fried goodness was delicious and paired nicely with their BBQ sauce. The crispy skin was just right--with the chewy onion string underneath. As for my entree, I was disappointed with the steak. I expected some juicy and tender, but I'm a novice in steak and ordered well done. As a result, my steak was hard and dry and not what I wanted. Luckily I was pretty intoxicated and full. We use to eat here all the time pre-COVID. Was not impressed. Hamburger was good, but med well when I ordered med. fries limp and greasy, I had ordered extra crispy. Had to find my waiter as burger came w/ nothing on it and they had no condiments on the table.
