My father and I have started coming here for our weekend breakfasts. It's usually busy but the servers have always been kind and attentive. Unfortunately that wasn't the case today. They walked past us for over five minutes when we first arrived, not even greeting us and telling us to sit in the back corner of the restaurant- which we didn't mind since they appeared to be understaffed. They forgot to bring my father's toast and when I tried to get any of the 3 server's attention (holding my hand up and saying excuse me) they looked at me before walking away to clean tables or serve other people. It wasn't until we were almost done with our food that a server came up and asked my father if he still wanted the toast he ordered. We were not offered refills until after we were done with our meals. Our original server arrived with the bill and informed us she removed my father's coffee off our receipt, but unfortunately overall we have to say our experience wasn't pleasant. read more

Nice lil brunch spot in stockton. They have about just every bfast dish you and think of and a list of burgers and hot sandwiches and other hot food items. Reminds of a few spots that I go to back in the eastbay but missing that IT factor or WOW plate that is well known. The food taste pretty plain jane and nothing is unique or makes this place different.... The omlett is not a true build your own, it really only comes with 3 items and eggs. My girl friend finished her whole country fried steak and her daughter finished her build your omlett. We came here since my girlfriend was craving some american food. Tommy's cafe was a great surprise, we went looking for a good reuben sandwich and definitely found one and much more. The restaurant has some small cafe, small town charm and a huge menu. The menu is extensive and there is definitely something on it for everyone. They serve breakfast all day and have curly fires and both are a plus for us! Beyond the size of the menu the service was good, the portions were big and the prices were very fair. This is the type of place you can go to and try something new every time or just stick to the same old. Food is great, BUT take too long to seat you, then take too long to take your order. They always complain they are very busy when half the room is empty. I was looking for a breakfast spot this morning that had indoor seating since San Joaquin County is now allowed. I found Tommy's Cafe driving down Pacific Ave. From the moment I walked in I knew I would like it. Avelina my server was amazing! I ordered the Santa Fe Scramble which consists of hash browns on the bottom with 3 Large scrambled eggs, chorizo, jalapeño, onion and cheese. I got mine with jack cheese instead of cheddar and the gravy on the side. Instead of toast or pancake which are included as well I subbed them out for sliced tomato. The food was very good though I didn't care for the gravy so I was glad I ordered it on the side. Each time Alvina saw my Diet Soda or Water empty she was right there with a brand new one. 2 stars is being KIND. Basic diner breakfast food. Terrible service. The inside looks very worn and dirty. I usually order to go but today they weren't answering their phone, so I decide to walk in since I live down the street right. Terrible decision. I walk in there is a man and 2 women behind the counter. NOT ONE of them looks or speaks to me but they know I am there . I say "excuse me, how can I order to go" and the woman behind the counter still doesn't make eye contact and puts her finger up at me extremely rude and says wait. They continued to ignore me for another 5 minutes. I left extremely hurt. I will not be spending any money at Tommy's Cafe. There are other places that have RESPECT that serve better food. Came here for a family breakfast and was promptly seated. Great, attentive service and food came out fast. I had one of the omelettes, it came packed with fresh veggies and kielbasa sausage. I'm honestly very sad to say that after a year, i came back to this restaurant expecting the absolutely delicious food i was met with at my last visit, but instead, the food was just flat out disgusting. I got the chicken and waffles, exactly what i got a year ago (which was amazing last time) and it honestly made me gag. The ranch tasted like fish and the chicken was very obviously something from bag, closer to being an old chicken nugget than being a chicken tender. the waffle was also really bad. Thankfully the service was just as great as last time and I actually had the same server that i had last time. My partner got the Meat Lovers burrito with fries and he said that while the burrito was "ok", the fries were "nothing like (he'd) ever had before". After he said that, i tried one and i agree, they do not taste like fries at all, not a grain of salt or any other seasoning on them. We've been eating here since they opened. We love the food and the waiters are extremely friendly and courteous. One day we walked in it was really busy. There were few tables available. That's why we sat down and the waiter took our orders. After 5 mins. A couple came in and order their food. Then three older men came in and order their food also. Meaning we were still waiting for our food. But I was stunned because the older couple was served their food first, then after a few minutes the three older men got their food so quickly also. And the person who served them was the owner of the restaurant. I told my husband, they must have ordered food before they arrived at the restaurant. Then another couple walked in and waved at the owner. After a few minutes they got their food. And we were still waiting. Then when my husband talked to the waiter about our food, the waiter said "oh, I don't know what actually happened let me check" So we are not special. Because the owner doesn't know us. And we've been eating here since they opened their doors. And the owner still doesn't know us. And we give good tips to his servers. We take care of them. So we stopped coming here because I lost my temper. I need to settle my anger. I am not ready to go back. Don't get me wrong, but the owner does more than pay attention to his favorites. Tommy's on Pacific Ave has the best waitress ever and her name is Linda. She was working at Tommy's on Wilson Way and then she was sent to the Pacific Ave location. Even though I live much closer to the one on Wilson Way the service I receive from her is well worth the extra miles. She always greets her customers with a warm, welcoming, and friendly smile. All of my friends also feel the same way. When one of my friends isn't with me she will always ask about them. If that isn't excellent customer service then I don't know what is. I ordered a Belgian waffle it came out soggy even though it's advertised as crispy and golden brown my nephew's Belgian waffle came out even worse the presentation of the food leaves a lot to be desired the restaurant is not very clean and the servers stretch their selves too thin and it seems like they're very overwhelmed. This place was opened down the street from our house a few years back. It has dark tinted windows and I could never really tell if it was open or not. Definitely didn't look like a typical diner with painted specials on the front windows and clear, clean views of the patrons inside sipping on their coffee. I finally tried it for the first time about three weeks ago. Parking is plentiful. There is a dojo next door, but it seems they aren't open much or maybe they're open in the night time. (Tommy's is only open 6am-3pm.) When we walked in, I was surprised! The place was packed! Busy little lady waitresses hustled around checking in tables, balancing drinks, taking orders. The place smelled like home-cooked breakfast and syrup. YUM! We found ONE open table for two. Menu has American breakfasts and lunches...think Perko's-type food. We were waited on faster than I imagined for the amount of people in there and our food came out in a reasonable time too. Large portions, hot and good for any diner! As you sit and eat, you can tel the groups of people in there are regulars and the waitresses KNOW about them. It's like the home away from home spot. I heard a waitress ask how an older man's appointment went. The second time we went (yes, we have been back 4 times now... in three weeks!), the waitress waved good bye to the 6 gentleman next to me and said, "I'll see you guys Thursday!" You never really see this kind of service anymore. It made the experience that much more special. A place where everyone can belong... and when I say "everyone", you'll see... all ages, all ethnicities, all income levels... all eating together. It's awesome! read more

I ordered blueberry pancakes, with two eggs over medium and bacon. -- The bacon was cooked well as asked, but the pieces were small and really thinly sliced. -- The pancakes were really big and too heavy, and the blueberries were Not fresh. The blueberries looked like those ones you get out of a can, and there weren't enough blueberries to impact the flavor much. The eggs...well I never did eat them. I had ordered over medium and the eggs came out over easy. When I was finally able to track down the waitress, they brought me two eggs with blueberries in them (???...I don't know) and they were really brown. So, I had to ask for them a third time, and this time they were really brown and still over easy. THE TRICK TO COOKING GOOD EGGS IS REALLY LOW HEAT...NOT HIGH. PATIENCE.
