After finishing, he said someone will get my ordered made. No one ever acknowledged my order. Some staff, kept going to the back, coming up front, looking at each other and laughing. So, since the shake machine is in the back, out of sight, I didn't trust them making it, so I stopped a staff member and asked to cancel my order. He did without an issue, because no one bother to start it. As the on duty manager was refunding me. A staff member came from the back and lowly asked him if it was canceled. He turned and said yes. So maybe, they already cleaned the machine and don't want to use it, not sure. He did offer a free pastry, I had one on my order, but told him no, it was ok. Always make a point to withhold your money, if you aren't treated as a wanted customer. Everything is too high nowadays. And unfortunately, employees think, their bosses pay them, regardless of money coming through the business. Also, after the previous manager, the food quality has gone way down. It's sad to see the place so empty, compared to how it was before. So disappointing!

For brunch, I usually get the Short Rib Poutine and house-made doughnuts, but I noticed the poutine was no longer on the menu during my most recent visit. Their furikake fries and deviled eggs are also good. Overall, a decent restaurant for brunch, lunch, and dinner.

I am a semi regular at Tommy's Cafe. Usually making my way into there hanging once every 2-3 weeks. Let's talk bad. The parking lot is a bit of a pain to get out off. You have to go down this badly sloped ramp to get back onto Pacific Ave if you're trying to get back toward Northern Stockton. You can get a large variation on the quality and friendliness of the server. Okay, now for the good: Tommy's Cafe offer one of the best deals in town for breakfast! You see, I like to order the 3 egg breakfast meal. I get 3 eggs (obviously), a decent portion of (crispy, yum, yum) hashbrowns, 4 slices of THICK (not cheap, not scrimpy) bacon, and I almost always pay the extra dollar or whatever to switch out the toast side for a pancake (also decently sized.) So for me, it ends up being 6.25, plus 1.00 for a really full breakfast. I have been to other places and my thought is, "I want at least 3 eggs, hash browns, 4 slices of bacon and a pancake. That is what I want. That is what I need." I can get exactly this at a truly competitive price. I have NOT been able to find a better deal for breakfast food in this part of Stockton. Generally bad form to mention other places in a review. However, this place flip flops as my favorite 1st or 2nd diner for breakfast foods. The other race horse would be Chucks. Here, I spend about 7.25. At Chucks I end up paying closer to 9.00, however, they have larger portions of hashbrowns, as well as a (much larger) pancake. read more

Several weeks ago, my friends and I decided to meet for breakfast at Tommy's. One of them had dined there for dinner many a time, and raved about it. Very personable service, home-cooked meals, and a comfortable setting makes it one of her and her brothers favorite restaurants.Well, we all LOVED it! So many options for breakfast, and we all have different diets (low fat, low sodium, gluten free, etc) but we all found meals that suited our needs, and we were ALL very happy with our food. I had a delicious Veg. omelette and the BEST fresh fruit (cut up) I've ever had at a restaurant. A huge portion, and wonderful. We're meeting again there as a group, and including a few new friends. Around lunch time today my husband and i witnessed an unspeakable act.. a young man walks into the cafe heads to the back and begins yelling and screaming vulgar words toward the chef. he states to him "you better put me on full time or i'm gonna tear sh** up' he calls the cook an Asian mf'er." i was appalled at his act of disrespect and racism towards the cook. he became so angry we feared for our safety and the safety of the cook and his staff... we have been there when this young man was working and he exhibits poor customer service and to think he talks to his managers and other staff in this manner is horrifying. we will not return until this young man has been removed.. it is a shame that a warm environment like Tommy's cafe has to be tainted by individuals like that. read more

Ewwww. This place is horrible Staff-- I was scared of the staff, they all seemed so scary and demonic as well as sadistic. Beware. When I went to order, the waitress glared and complained. And when i complained about the entree, she apparently overheard me and laughed. Another waitress seemed to stalk me because she had actively been listening to my laugh and said.."Do you remember me?" in a creepy voice. I had never seen her in my life!! I am so digusted with the way he treats his employees. There was one young man in particular who ran the whole time he was there and was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. I found out that they fired him over unethical reasons. I will boycott Tommy's until he makes things right with his employees. read more

It was extremely uncomfortable and felt very inconsiderate. The experience was so bad that we ended up leaving without even getting to try the food. I can't speak on the food itself, but the customer service and management definitely need improvement. Please work on your customer service and management. Customers should feel welcomed and acknowledged when they walk in, not ignored and uncomfortable.

PROS: - Nice family atmosphere - Large food volume for price - Good service CONS: - Ordered the Pancake Combo, which includes two (2) pancakes. As you can see in the attached picture, one of the pancakes was completely burnt. The chef tried to hide it by putting the burnt pancake under the normal one. I didn't notice it until I had already eaten 1/3rd of the meal, and was too hungry to wait to have another one cooked. This is not the restaurant's fault, but completely the fault of the chef at the time. Needless to say, I won't be coming back.
