Excellent service by Kim. She took her time and provided great care. My manicure and pedicure turned out to be simply stunning. I will definitely return back for another relaxing session with Kim!

Had time to spare before my flight back home, so I stopped by Trio Nails for a long overdue mani-pedi. Kelly and Dong both did my nails simultaneously, which I appreciated since it saved me lots of time. Both ladies were extremely friendly and accommodating, allowing me to sit longer to dry my nails since I didn't bring any flip flops. They also did an amazing job! I'll come back when I am in SF again!

Came here for a gel manicure while on vacation. Friendly workers and a nice clean store! My nails came out great for a reasonable price. I was able to book an appointment really easily and they also accept walk-ins, would definitely recommend!

My technician was meticulous with the polish. Very happy with my gel polish on natural nails.

My hubby and I were walking around Japan Town and on our way back to our car, we walked passed Trio Nails. I thought I could use a pedicure, so we took a peek to see if we could do a walk-in and the ladies gladly took us in. We were the only ones in the salon and the two sweet ladies asked us if we wanted hot tea or water. I asked for the hot tea and they came out with hot tea and peanut butter pretzel bites, which I thought was a nice touch. Looking at their prices, we learned that they do massage services. So while I was getting a pedicure, my hubby got a 30 minute neck and shoulder massage. Everything was going great and they were taking their time with us, until another customer walked in. That's where I felt the service went down. The lady working on my pedicure picked up her pace so the other lady won't have to wait long - and I get it. There's only two of them in the salon at the moment, but I definitely felt rushed. My pedicure turned out nice though. It didn't look sloppy at all even though I felt rushed at the end. My hubby said his massage was ok, but he didn't expect much since massage isn't their specialty.

$35 for mani/pedi? Why not? $10 more (than pedi alone) for a mani is a great deal but doing my own nails looks better than this. The shop is a fairly peaceful oasis that has availability for clients at 6pm, and unfortunately, I see why. Though the people providing the service are friendly, sweet and kind, the service itself left me disappointed. While sitting in the salon, I was relieved that I wasn't there for gel or acrylic, after reading the disappointing reviews. What I didn't realize was that they didn't have standards for any of their licensed skills. A rushed polish on my nails left a disaster on my cuticles. The chair massage was my favorite part of the experience.

My friend and I got gelish manicure yesterday and we were happy when we left but literally a day later the color faded out completely. Also, they tore a pet of my fingers skin trying to remove the cuticle. We went back and they didn't want to give us a refund, we told them we would leave a bad yelp review and they gave us a partial refund. Completely dissatisfied with their service.

Been here a few times now as I just moved to the area. They are super sweet and helpful at Trio nails. You get offered endless amounts of water/tea AND peanut butter pretzels. Score. Come hungry. They always ask if your comfortable and if you want your massage chair on. Also, the attention to detail on your mani is great. So far I've only gotten gel manicures ($25) and they've all been amazing and last the standard two weeks. They also give you gloves to protect your vulnerable little hands from cancerous UV lights - another score. Overall, Trio will now be my new go-to nail salon in SF. Lower Pac Heights bay-bee.

They don't have all the colors and gems but still enough to make amazing designs. Design nails are not super popular in sf which is why many of these salons don't carry the right stuff. But this place has a good amount! They don't have a book of designs which I don't mind. All I did was show them a picture of what I wanted from instagram and the lady replicated it! I love them! For gel and design manicure it was $35 bucks. Not bad! Best price in the city! Easy to park street parking. Friendly staff. Solid nails!

First impressions was the location is nice, very local and the staff are all so friendly and accommodating. Very professional attitudes and attire along with great customer service. Their place just got renovated and it looks fancy and stunning. Every time I have went in for my nails they took great care of me and made sure I got what I wanted. I always look for Brittney and Sammi, they know how to shape and design my nails with ease and precision, it shows how much care they put into making their customers happy! Been back here about 3 times now and also brought my friend for a pedicure date. Definitely would recommend to check them out if you're in the area!

When I got home, I realized the polish was completely uneven and see-through as that he only did two coats. Throughout the process, I was nicked with the electric filing razor that he was using. He did not apologize nor did he thanked me for my generous tip of $15 for a subpar job. I requested a refund and they hung up on me even after I sent photos and video. I am so disappointed I'm going to have to have my nails completely redone wasting more money. Sloppy and unfriendly service. Avoid. Oh and I requested GEL X and they didn't tell me that they were doing hard gel which is completely different and this ruined my set. I only know because it took so long and he spent 45 minutes putting on a clear something he didn't even tell me about. What a frustrating experience.

I can tell it's well loved by the surrounding community because there were so many people who walked in and knew the staff by their first name. I walked here from the bus stop off Rhode Island and 16th. It was a short and pleasant 10min walk from where I started. It was flat until I passed by a Whole Foods when the journey was all uphill. Short of breath, I made it to the top of the hill and to my destination *phew. It was a nice quad and glute workout for sure. I was greeted by a friendly staff and led to a wall of nail polish (sometimes the choices are overwhelming). I chose a bright pink and sparkly OPI nail polish. It felt summery. I ended up feeling tense as I sat and eased my feet into warm water. Annie, my nail artist, told me to relax but my body wanted to do the opposite. I think I get tense when my toenails are being cut as if to anticipate pain, but when I felt comfortable with her technique, I started to relax. It was probably the most relaxed I've been all week. Annie was sweet and attentive. She also did a really good job removing my cuticles and massaging my calves. I needed it! It was a great way to end a stressful day at work. I would love to come back!

This place is fine, the biggest issue is the cost for value. The pedicure is $70 (with the quick…read moredry dazzle nail polish, why there's a $5 up-charge for a polish is alone a mystery). The quality of ingredients, time spent, lack of even a slight massage, and general feel of the spa doesn't warrant such a high price tag. That's the issue, if the prices were akin to what other spas charge, I'd rate this higher, but at $70 it's really hard to say this place is 5* quality. My feet are drier than when I went in, I think it's because she didn't put lotion on after the scrub? However, there are limited options in Potetro, and they're always booked out, so it's working for them!

Each nail was a little different, and he spent a lot of time making sure each design was up to my standard. We chose the colors together before, and he tried to change the original just a little bit to work with the materials they already had. This one set included cat eye, blooming gel, chrome, sculpting gel, and more. He spent a lot of time on filing, shaping, etc so I could tell he was being really detail oriented. He assured me the outcome would be about 80% similar to the picture, since they wouldn't have the exact colors. The final price ended up being $135 plus tip, and I got an appointment the same day I called. It's very busy so make sure you get an appointment! There's definitely specific techs at Lux SF who are better at art than others, so make sure you ask for a good one!

The technician clipped my cuticle too far, causing bleeding, and was very rough throughout the service -- especially while removing the builder gel and filing my nails. She also skipped steps that Andrew had previously done, which affected the overall quality. I clearly asked for a gel builder fill and to keep my length, but she began filing my nails down anyway. I had to repeat myself multiple times and eventually had to switch to Gel-X just to regain the length that was removed. There also seemed to be a language barrier. However, instead of asking a coworker for clarification, she continued with what she thought I said rather than confirming my request. I ultimately had to stop and ask another staff member walking by to help translate. Additionally, pricing was not transparent. The service is listed online as $70 for a gel builder fill, but I was charged $85. When I asked about it, I was told I had already been given a discount, which was confusing and not explained. This technician needs more professionalism and should be spoken to regarding both technique and customer care. Overall, this experience felt rushed and careless, which was very disappointing given how great my first visit was.

I always try to clearly explain the style I'm looking for, but during busy hours it often feels like my requests are dismissed rather than the technicians helping me find the closest available option. At times, I felt awkward trying to figure out what was possible on my own while the technician simply watched instead of assisting me. At my last visit, the Gel-X application felt especially rushed. There was excess glue left around my nails which looked messy and unprofessional. While the final design was nice, it ultimately was not what I had originally asked for. When I expressed disappointment prior to leaving, the technician later explained there had been a language barrier. However, this was never communicated during the time of service. Instead, I was repeatedly told "no" to the options I asked about. Afterward, I reviewed the salon's website and realized they actually did offer the exact style I wanted. What made me especially uncomfortable, though, was that the technician put their hands in my hair without asking first. That completely crossed a personal boundary and felt very disrespectful. Overall, I think this salon is fine for simple services, but if you're looking for detailed nail art or a more attentive customer experience, you may leave feeling frustrated.
