Cute little nail salon. Really small, very neighborhood-y. The two ladies who I think we're named Don and Lon (sisters) did gel nails for my hands and regular polish for my toes. They look great. The also offered me green tea which I thought was awesome :). I would definitely come back again! Pros: Intimate, great customer service, friendly staff, quality work. Cons: Small (only an issue if you're coming with a big group). They had lots and lots of colors but not every shade like some. I only noticed because I was looking for a specific color. I tried this nail salon for the first time yesterday while in Japantown. I will give Trio Nails 5 stars for their services and their quality products. The store is clean, the technicians are super nice, when I walked in , I was greeted with a smile and offered me water and cherries. I highly recommend! Definitely will be back. I love, love, love Jenny!!! She is so genuine and the sweetest lady ever!!! I found her about 5 months ago and wish I had found her sooner! This place is great! A reasonably priced nail salon in Japantown, conveniently located to all the Fillmore St. shops and restaurants. The women who work there are beyond friendly and do a great job. Typical gel manicure ($25) easily lasts a full two weeks. If you're getting mani/pedi, they will try to do both at the same time so you are in-and-out in less than an hour, which is ideal. They have frequently squeezed me in over lunch and at the very end of the day, sometimes staying open late to accommodate. I can't say enough good things, highly recommended! read more

Trio nails has such great customer service. I love that they have massage chairs but they don't use jets. I've heard horror stories about nail places that use jets. I went to get a pedicure with a friend. Between the two of us we were pretty high maintenance. My friend didn't like her nail color and they tried different colors on her toes until she was happy. When I left the nails salon I didn't have flip flops. The nail color rubbed off and Trio nails redid my toes and gave me flip flops and toe spacers to make sure it didn't happen again. They were so sweet and they really cared that we were happy with the outcome. I would recommend this salon to anyone wanting to get a mani/pedi. read more

I would not come back here again. My pedicure was rushed. The lady literally spent 5 mins on my feet, and that's including the application of the nail polish. I had asked for acrylic nails, no one seemed to know how to apply them. There was about 5 people who gathered around me, speaking in their language which made me feel uncomfortable. Finally a man said, I work in the Mission, today is my day off, but I will do your nails for you..long story short, he did an OK job on my nails. He had asked one of the ladies to paint my nails and she did a HORRIBLE job. She went over my cuticles and skin. She missed a lot of areas on my nails, and when I pointed them out, she seemed annoyed with me. I would not come back here ever. It was a waste of my money. I ended up going home and re-painted my nails. I am super annoyed! read more

Usually I do my nails by my self - it was my very first salon manicure experience. What can I say - it is a last one as well, for sure! It was summer 2009 when I came here for cleaning, buffing and polishing my finger and toe nails. Lady tried to be personal and nice, she started with my feet. The cuticle skin was removed too much and it was painful for few days after. She did a horrible job on buffing and polishing my toe nails. I asked her to do the buff/polish step again. She argued with me that "it suppose to look like that" (unpolished??), then she started to buffing/polishing again, at the same time ignoring me and speaking loudly in her native language to the void. All her co-workers stared at me during all that time. No doubt she was saying all kind of "nice" things about me (being sarcastic). Same horrible job was done to my fingernails. I left place with dull and unpolished nails, paid $25 (cash only accepted). However, in 3-4 months later I noticed that my nails got brittle, got weird color spots, and started to separate from the nail bed. To make this story short -after visiting podiatrist I've learn that all my toenails and fingernails are affected by fungus. I have no doubt that I was infected here, in this place. read more

This place is right around the corner from where I live, so I decided to stop by to get acrylics for graduation. It wasn't as painful as other reviewers have described, but it was enough for me to know that I'm never going back. To top it off, one of my nails fell off two days after getting them done, and the last time I got an acrylic set it was from a different place which lasted me a good three weeks. No such thing at this place. Also they don't tell you right away that it's cash only, which kind of irked me. One start is for the nice attitude. However, this place is the worst nail salon I ever have. First, they changed extra $5 to remove the gel that I already had on. I was so surprised that they changed extra, because the other nail salon they never charged extra fee to remove them. Second, the steps for remove cuticle was rough, no water to soft out cuticle first. Skip few necessary steps. 3rd was applied color uneven. I was so disappointed. read more

This place is horrible. I went there for waxing very recently and the lady did a terrible job. She didn't take off the wax quickly enough and so it hurt more than normal. But that's not the worst thing - When I left I had terrible red marks that I thought would go away. I get waxed all the time and this didnt look normal. Its been a few days now and the marks have turned into brown SCARS. I'm not sure what to do about it, but thought I'd warn anyone who is thinking of going there for waxing - DO not go, unless you want a lot of ugly scars! read more

Manicure was just a polish change....my nails still have cuticles all around the sides, which was the main and VERY OBVIOUS reason i was in need of a mani. $12 color change is not what i would pay ever again. I love getting my nails done and do it every 3 days because of the extreme growth of my nails and hard work i do with my hands....$12 was a price range i can afford for service so often..... once i find a good place......STILL IN THE SEARCH. I gave 2 stars due to the obvious slack in service and no posted CASH ONLY sign.... I did walk in the door late, but dont accept someone if you dont want to do that job right, is my suggestion. I would have gone back another time no problem. To let your customers know cash only after the service is a little odd. A sign should be posted as to not dupe people in to having to pay a $3 ATM charge. Business card states hours of service till 7:30pm M-Sat. Different from yelp listing. read more

Loved this little salon! Myself and my two sisters stopped in to get manicures whilst on vacation in SF and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice of salon. The ladies attended to us straight away, were really friendly and gave us green tea and snacks to munch on while we waited for each others' nails to dry! Great prices, great polish colour change, and lovely job on the nails - my sparkly gel nails are still going strong two weeks later. Would highly recommend! After reading the glowing reviews of Trio Nails, I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed with my experience there. I called to make an appointment and asked for the absolute latest spot that day. They told me 6:30 was the best they could do, so I rushed from the East Bay and made it there on time. They were busy with other customers that they didn't even start with me until after 7:30. Had I known, I wouldn't have left work early, been speeding across the bridge, paying the $6 to cross the bridge during rush hour and practically running people over along the way to be punctual to my appointment. They didn't really acknowledge that we had been waiting for over an hour. What was more frustrating was when they started working on our nails, they were rushed and I felt like we were the ones keeping them there later than they wanted. There are plenty of other places in the city for a $25 mani/pedi that don't require an entire evening commitment that will be getting my business next time. read more
