The Grandma Peppina slice I ate today was mediocre. The square was uneven and tasted ordinary. As I ate I thought longingly of the mouthwatering pizza at Artichoke. Two years since it opened the prices have risen in fact two months ago a dollar was added to each. While I know burrata is pricey I cannot imagine paying $11.50 for the slice with pepperoni. I came here a few times and brought a friend when it had opened. Today I hadn't taken lunch to the gym and thought to come here. Pretty cool spot for Sicilian slices. They didn't have any really weird ones like the Doritos slice but the ones they did have looked really appetizing. I opted for the burra pizza and cacio e pepe slice. Loved the burra pizza. The burrata and pepperoni were delicious. Plus you almost never see burrata on a slice. They have really unique pizza! I had a Philly cheesesteak slice, and my friend had fried pasta (think a mozzarella stick, but with cacio e pepe). I also saw a burrata slice, which is a slice with no cheese... but with a full ball of burrata sitting on top. The vibe was popping too: they play 2010 pop rock bangers, which made eating a bop. There's only one long counter to eat at, so it can get a bit cramped at times, but that keeps things moving and bustling. read more

I've never had burrata on pizza before and I loved it. I also loved how much pepperoni they put on it. Pretty solid pizza overall, lots of vegan options! The story of the place is quite interesting. Skip this paragraph if you don't care, but they started off during COVID working out of an apartment, bartering with their neighbors for interesting items. The pizza was so good they have their own storefront now! I believe they still barter once a month and you have to request on their website to be the lucky winner. We love a COVID survival story! Getting a few by the slice, the flavors were all great UNMARGHERITA What you would want from a margherita pizza, pools of white cheese interspersed in a thin background of sweet marinara, with kisses of basil decorating the slice. Margherita is a go to flavor for me and they make a good one! PESTO CHICKEN - forgot the full name of this one This was good with big chunks of chicken and pesto decorating the slice (good portions!) with cherry tomatoes topping it off for a nice touch of acidity and juiciness. Like the flavors; I think this one could have been warmed a bit more since there's a lot of toppings it didn't capture all of the heat. This is a common potential area of improvement I've noticed with pizza shops. BURRAPIZZA Creamy burrata spread over toasty pepperoni cups. Sweet, thick texture and enough burrata to cover the whole slice. It wasn't the easiest to spread, but I'm no burrata expert so can't say if that's good or bad but regardless the slice was yummy. Got the pepperoni burrata and grandma slice. Service was fast and friendly! Got my slices and ate it outside of the restaurant while the slices were hot. The slices were constructed well, great undercarriage. The grandma slice set a great baseline - sauce was sweet and the slice was crunchy. Looking for a slice not too messy, I ordered the Parmigiana plus - which came with fried eggplant, mozzarella, parmigiano, and ricotta. Solid square pizza joint. I give this a solid 4/5. The grandma peppina, tomato buffalo, and pepperoni burrata slice was pretty good. A howling wind hit fast with a barrage of nickel sized snow and a chilling cold was mercilessly pounding the Lower East Side streets and sidewalks. I just parked on 13th and 4th, to my right I saw what appeared to be icy green spikes hanging down upon the scaffolding, ready to drop as the wind continued it's onslaught. We quickly huddled inside, pressing the glass door closed behind us as winters last grasp pushed hard upon the opposite side. I spun around - first noticing the 80s themed tiles, neon lighting and pastel colors. My partner didn't see it because she thinks I see the 80s everywhere - I don't know wether that's true or not, I suppose it's possible. It's not like I'm actively seeking out Tetris shaped tater tots or anything but it'd really cool eating the backwards L after connecting it to the upside down inverted L. Behind the glass sat a wide array of gourmet pizzas - piping with garden fresh color and all perched up upon thick wooden cutting boards - Those beat up aluminum disks are appearing in my mind now to look so cheap and antiquated. The owner was from Rome, a young handsome gentlemanly fellow with honest eyes and a warm handshake. Learning my family is from Milan, he became more noticable interested - I was decked out in Real Tree Elite camouflage, clad top to bottom with long-haired NYC Grizzly Adams - I quickly recalled some Italian and began the difficult choosing process. Anchovies, meatball, black olive could have been there - I don't know, I can't say - toppings here are beautifully unusual, cut in interesting shapes and set upon a cheese that had creamy cow Taleggio brilliancy. I said out loud "sexy mushrooms" because they are - take a porchini and learn it's capabilities - they are sexy. Some truffle oil? I couldn't ask as I was diving into my cheese, pomodoro and basil slice with a half of a pepper and a half of a meat slice to finish. My partner likes to see me do a Man vs Food episode for her private entertainment -- this is the place to over eat as your facing one way to choose, turn and take a step to the counter to stand and eat (a good position for the big eatin hungry people out there) then turn back around, do the pizza hokey pokey and order yourself up another. read more

Stopped by here for a quick bite. For sure intrigued by this local pizza chain as they tried to differentiate themselves from other typical NY pizza shops. I got the Mini Stromboli Pepperoni ($4.50) which consisted of pepperoni, 'nduja sauce, spicy hot honey, and mozzarella. The issue I had after I took a bite was that the center was still cold as it was not in the oven long enough. Was not going to ask them to stick it back in the oven for sanitary reasons so I went about my day. I would try other items on the menu as their display case looks really good. I was tempted to get their burrata pepperoni slice but it just looks quite rich for one individual to consume, and it's a whopping $11 for one slice so I opted for the meat lovers one (~$7). The toppings on this slice were spot on - I believe it was a bolognese type of meat sauce with pepperoni and sausage. However the crust itself was lacking in flavor and it was way too light and airy in dough to carry all the amazing flavors together. Small storefront. The pizza: amazing crusty, the right amount of crunchy, the right amount of chewy, and the right amount. I got the pepperoni and burata pizza. The sauce is divine, the pepperoni is delicious and plentiful, the honey and hot sauce add a great layer of flavor. The burata, however, didn't add anything to the taste. The thing is, when it got put on a hot pizza, the inside liquefied, and lost all flavor. Next time, because that's how good the pizza is, I'm just gonna get it without the burata. It's also an expensive slice, but I think it's totally worth it, without the burata $. I also got the mushroom truffle burata slice... they are generous with the truffle oil! It was blissful, but I wouldn't really call it pizza. It was more like an incredibly delicious flat bread. I loved it, but it's not pizza, in my book. It was even great cos, and then you could appreciate the burata... I tried both fried pastas, they were meh... Be warned, this is not sexy eating unless you're into the hog eating look... Needed a quick bite last night and found myself next to @unregularpizza tried the viral Fried Cacio E Pepe Pasta bite and their Buffalo chicken slice. The fried pasta bite was super rich and delicious. The cacio Pepe flavor was strong, I was happy that the flavor wasn't lost after being deep fried. Definitely recommend getting this (but also splitting this) with someone. Heavy, but oh so good. For the pizza, I loved the focaccia style base. It was pillowy on top but still strong enough to hold its toppings without giving way. I should have remembered though; I'm typically not a fan of reheated chicken in this manner, I find the chicken bits to get a little tough and lose their luster. The drizzle of sauce and cheese was yummy though and I still enjoyed this slice, especially after I get a side of their vodka sauce to rip of pieces of my 'za to dip in. I think they are known for their burrata slices, so if I come back I'll have to give those a whirl. A really decent option in the area if you are looking for a quirky slice. I came to New York City just to do a pizza tour and this is hands down, the BEST PIZZA I HAD IN MY LIFE! Better than Prince Street, Rubirosa, Artichokes, and Joe's all combined. You're paying double the price of a normal slice for their signature burrata pizza, but I'm telling you it's WORTH IT. You also have the option of adding burrata to any slice for $3.50. [10/10] The burrapizza pugliese slice was so heavenly - spicy pepperoni with an entire piece of burrata cheese on top. The burrata actually compliments the spiciness so well. Not overly saucy and the bread was baked to perfect crisp. Better renditon of Prince Street, but without all that oil. [9/10] The prochute slice was also very tasty. Much lighter than the pugliese, but topped with pieces of prosciutto and arugula. There were so many selections, with different, unique combinations. They also sell other items besides pizza, such as bowls, sandwiches, etc. I can't wait to come back to try more! On top of that, staff was super friendly. You're talking the language of love to me. Yelpers are talking about the high price, this isn't Kraft Cheese that you'd get off the shelf in the supermarket!
