Omg wow this place is absolutely beautiful, romantic, beautiful & reminds us of bistro in Paris. We celebrated our son's birthday and he lives nearby. Chloe the hostess was very nice and accommodating, Harry was such a nice person, professional, efficient and hardworking. Our son ordered starters and every single one was DELICIOUS . It was worth our drive from Glendale. Our waiter took the time to take us upstairs show us the cooking school and private dining. The patio in the back gave us a whole full tour. A stunning little bistro very cozy very romantic..

From the outside it looks like any restaurant but inside is very different. The way it was set up made it feel like you were in a small town courtyard. Very romantic feel so great for special date nights. Food here was great too! Started with some fries and french onion soup. And then the steak (medium rare) was cooked to perfection and the salmon was soft and juicy. Great variety of wine selection to pair with the meal.

Came here for a lunch date and had a great experience. We ordered the French onion soup, steak frites, and the Westwood Bowl, and everything was delicious. The French onion soup came out scorching hot and full of flavor, the steak frites hit, and the Westwood Bowl was super flavorful and filling. The ambiance was beautiful and unique, the service was 10/10, and I'd definitely come back to Violet Bistro.

The Violet Bistro is truly a special place. Located in a beautiful building, the Violet is a place that takes you back in time. Serving up beautiful English tradition. I went for their Haute Tea! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an amazing host with so much positive energy that it seeped into the room! They greet you with a glass of champagne. I didn't get it instead. They gave me an amazing mocktail that reminded me of butterfly tea! Such a nice touch. They course everything out to the tea! No pun intended. From the savory to the sweet, every dish hit. The whole room is filled with the loveliest smell of baked goods the moment the oven opens! It makes your mouth water. I've never experienced anything like it. They even had a cute note waiting at the table. Huge compliments to the chefs! Chef Jesse & Yesenia, thank you for making an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to come back. To experience lunch and dinner service. This place is special.

A delightful French bistro with an updated twist on classic French cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you feel transported back to a chic Parisian spot - from the tastefully arranged artwork on the walls, to the elegant bar with antique mirror behind the panoply of liquor bottles, this place is elegant, cosy, romantic, intimate and fun! We ordered the duck à l'orange, steak au poivre, chicken and cauliflower with a side of delicious truffle fries. Finished off with a chocolate pot de crème and strawberry ice cream. Cocktails were great too. Attentive and pleasant service from Fabian. Merci!

Really great experience here! I came with a large group so you had to use a preset menu, though they were good options - two apps, two entrees, one dessert. To start we had the baguette and Cesar salad - both were high quality and tasty - they get the bread fresh daily. Chicken and cauliflower were the mains - both good. I don't eat curry but everyone around me raved about the cauliflower. Chocolate mousse for dessert was rich and flavorful. Staff was super attentive and very reasonable pricing for that sized party.

Beautiful ambiance. Absolutely lovely and cozy date night spot. The mizou salad was not worth the hype. The steak sauce was phenomenal

The bar is fantastic, but the kitchen sucks ass

The bar is great especially Chloe, but the kitchen staff has no manners...perhaps it's a problem with management lol...forget Michelin stars, you'll be lucky to get 1 star on YELP!!!!!!!

First time visiting and really enjoyed the ambience of this place. At the time we arrived they let us know that they had a private event at 7:15(arrived around 5:50ish). The workers never rushed us and i think it reflects at how well they manage their times with the tables. Our group decided to do drinks and small bites and when we were nearing the time they made sure to give us enough time for desserts. I got the violet sundae with vanilla and it was super good! The toppings on the oysters were so delicious as well. I also recommend trying their fries and baguettes. Really enjoyed my expierence here!

Very cute restaurant with a super cozy vibe. The staff and servers are extremely friendly and will help get you in and out of the restaurant as this is a goto spot for people trying to make a show at the Geffen Playhouse. The steak order was fantastic and even though you normally don't get salmon on tomatoes, it tasted pretty good. Also, the french fries were cut in a really cool way almost like chips, but they were served with just regular mayonnaise and ketchup, which was strange. I noticed there's just a little shortcuts here and there Whether it's the hot water picture they bring to you when you order tea or you think it would be a lot more vintage or the fact that you could order this amazing chocolate, mousse dessert and when they bring the check out to some people, I saw the servers had put Hershey's kisses on the little tray these guest's check. We thought that was so weird for this cozy little bistro to have you walk out the door with the taste of a cheap Hershey's kiss being the last thing you ate. What was that about? Either way, the food was delicious and it's good to have a choice like this around the neighborhood before I go see plays at the Geffen .

Omg get the steak - it was so good I didn't even get a photo. Also the Mizou salad is unassumingly DELICIOUS! So glad our waiter recommended it - he was right. This place is perfect for date night - romantic and cozy. Our waiter also told us about the cooking classes they host! Such a great idea. Will be going back soon!!

We stopped in on a Sunday around 11:30, no line and very quick service! Finished eating and left around 12:05 so we must've lucked out with no line. We got two double cheese burgers and the loaded fries. The burger had impressively thin patties with a really nice char on the meat skirt, well seasoned, and perfectly crispy. The buns were quite small and a bit smooshed, but they were soft. It came with some fry sauce and pickles as well, overall a good burger. The fries had a good amount of toppings (cheese onions, fry sauce) and were nice and crispy. Kinda wish the onions were slightly more grilled for some extra flavor! Would probably go for plain next time as the loaded fries and burger together had similar flavors The interior has a few benches for seating and single bar type seating around the perimeter - I could see it filling up if there's a big line of people. The Big Mac stays the same. I went to LA to taste, apparently, the best burger in LA at For the Win. I paid $25 for two smash burgers and had high expectations. After all, when you click this joint on Google Maps, a fancy review pops up. Nice! However, when the smash burger entered my cave and caressed my buds, my mind instantly recognized it as a Big Mac. Therefore, my brain could hardly differentiate between a McDonalds burger, and the "best" burger in LA. I haven't eaten at McDonalds in 14 years, but my mind still knew what a gentle and warm face looks like. So overall, it was alright! As the reverend Shane Gillis says "Not Bad". The service was good tho. And the ambiance was a bit weird because the music was off. Haha bye!!!

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. So getting back to Amboy...This vital burger spot was exactly like in all the other videos I've seen and it didn't disappoint. We got the DH, Amboy Burger, regular fries and truffle fries. That's a lot of food for two people and well worth the price. The DH is as big as you could imagine. They cook it medium rare, which I love...that beast of a burger was so juicy, they should hand out gloves when eating it or at least a 3" high stack of napkins! You have a slight dry aged taste to it, but I am partial to the really funky dry aged. I am talking 45-60-100 day dry aged steaks, but this was just as good for a hamburger. The truffle fries were massive and could easily feed 3 people, maybe 4. We got there just in time to get the corner booth table and watch the line get longer and longer. The Amboy itself was good, nothing special and it reminded me of Bob's Big Boy hamburger sauce, which was a good memory to get back to. I think the most unique aspect are the heavily, sesame seeded buns. They were very soft, but held up to the DH 1/3# burger patty very nicely. I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

To say I'm super bummed is an understatement. I am so thankful that I happen to stop by for lunch and visit this location one last time. The same manager was there on the last day as when I went the first time two years ago. The staff there was always amazing, friendly, and the food was incredible. I think it was the Chinatown location that didn't work for them. However, the good news is that they do have three other locations and if you have never been, I suggest you check Kroft out if you love burgers, especially smashed. The other locations are in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Rancho Cucamonga. I wish them luck and I will definitely be stopping in their other locations if I am ever in the area.

Waited another 10min, while I saw other people picking up orders, so I checked in again. Same response, not ready yet. Another 10min passed by, now I'm seeeing people who came after me get their orders before me. Asked the staff again for my order status. The order pick up window person shouted my name to the kitchen each time I checked in. Finally the 3rd time they responded, they start arguing, apparently my order was done a long time ago, and it was given to someone else. It took 30min to figure out that my order had already been done and given to someone else because there was no communication between the kitchen, order staff or pick up staff. no apology, just got my food after the argument 3minutes later...Food was average, definitely not worth a 30min wait.
