I believe they can split the bill between 2ppl. I went ahead and paid for the whole party while going to use the restroom to freshen up. I didn't want to deal with split the bill and had everyone Venmo me.

Hoping to make a reservation for a larger party but having a hard time on getting respond by emailing/calling / dm on Instagram. Any other method of communication?

Then seeing the unfinished fish on the plate, the server apologized and then proceeded to tell us what were the best options on the menu. Those being the burgers, nachos, and shepherds pie. Stick to those and enjoy the booze, scenery, and fresh salt air. Yes, if the salmon isn't fresh, you can count on the air being so. Oh, I should let you know what I ordered. I had to settle on my third choice of beer, and my second choice of entree. No brisket sandwich, and no 805, or Pacifico beer. I settled for a BLT with avocado and a Coors Light. That worked in a pinch. Quick Tip: Try to get a table up top and next to the edge. You'll understand when seated. Don't forget the sunglasses. Again, you'll understand when seated. Southern California shines and displays its wares proudly.

If you are looking for a restaurant with a large menu, you will be disappointed. Sure, portions of La La Land were filmed here, and they have some movie memorabilia in the back of the place but they offer far more than jazz here, if that is your impression. There is rock, reggae, salsa, lots of tribute bands, and other stuff. While this may have once been purely a jazz club, I am certain the market simply won't carry (most) strictly jazz places for very long. Based on one photo I saw on the wall, this place has been around for about 76 years. That is impressive. For jazz aficionados, they offer a three hour Sunday jazz brunch (and this is the only time when folks under 21 can enter, by the way). For brunch, there are only four food items available on the menu: a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, one pancake (singular, not plural) and bacon, sausage, and eggs. Remember, you are here for the music, not the food. As for the food, my breakfast burrito was interesting. Knowing restaurants in California, it was probably cooked by a Latino gentleman but this looked like th emost Caucasian burrito of all time. It had chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and other stuff in it, and the tortilla had a nice cheesy skirt on it. It was also on the spicier side, which I enjoyed, but fair warning. I wasn't sure I was going to like it by its looks but I ate the whole thing. It was also a belly bomb and kept me satisfied for about 6 or 7 hours afterward. The avocado toast was actually very good and made with good quality bread. I thought the music was excellent. The members of the band (the John Kithcart Quartert) played their assess off and really seemed to enjoy themselves. True jazz (not that soft elevator music gunk) was popular at one time but let's face it, it is not popular anymore. Jazz certainly can be enjoyed as background music while you enjoy your one pancake but it is certainly not intended to be enjoyed that way. To fully appreciate it, you have to pay attention to it. That doesn't seem too much of an ask. After all, it is the folks on the stage who are doing the hard work. Our server was very good. She was friendly and attentive. My only experience here is with the Sunday jazz brunch so I cannot speak for the venue at any other times. At least for the Sunday brunch, whether you like jazz or not, this place is well worth a try.

Honestly, it didn't even taste like flan, but rather a very smooth cheesecake. We're glad we added it on at the last minute! Overall, plenty of punchy flavors and innovative dishes that change monthly. However, the price point ($33+) per dish for such small plates is a bit much, but I can see myself returning for special occasions (and their breakfast burritos)!

The performance was in the larger room. The comics really connected with the audience because they had a bit more time to share their various experiences. The meal was delightful as it always has been.The service excellent. We met MIKE one of the founders of the club in the parking lot earlier in the evening, I had forgotten my tickets at home and couldn't find them on my phone. MIKE made sure that the front receptionist would accommodate us. It was wonderful. At the conclusion of the evening as we were driving home, my phone rang. It was the comedy club calling to let us know that one in my party had left her sweater on the chair. Did we want to come back to get it? We told them to just give it to someone who needed it because we were about to get on the freeway at that point. What a wonderful surprise that they took the care and initiative to figure out who was sitting at that table and to reach out to us, that's service ! I recommend this comedy club wholeheartedly. You'll have a great time and a great meal at an affordable rate. It's one of the best things going on the coast. Enjoy! Laugh!! Have fun. And do take the time to examine the wonderful collection of Hollywood memorabilia and comics' costumes that are on display. It's a special little museum its own right.

But this one, I get so sad when we get to the last chapter of the meal. Chef Jino leaves me wanting more. Literally, this man knows how to make fusion sushi without bastardizing the nature of sushi. I don't know how to explain it. You just gotta try it for yourself. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. 10000%. They have unagi or eel as the last course, and it's better than what I've had in Korea. They also serve Sawara where they smoked it in a special wood(not going to specify so you can be surprised, trust me it's amazing), and if I was blind testing, I would have thought it was a piece of bbq meat. For dessert, they served this banana ice cream with forbidden rice pudding and ube mochi and it was the perfect refreshment after the delicious meal. We always get the bottle of Sancerre, but the sake or wine pairings seem interesting too. TLDR; if you're in South Bay and you love sushi, do omakase here. You'll love it, I guarantee it

My experience at Vista Hermosa was extremely disappointing due to the terrible service. We were seated promptly, but no server came to our table for nearly 15 minutes. We had to ask for our server three separate times before anyone finally came to take our order. Even after ordering, our food and drinks were delayed, and we had to remind the staff about almost everything two or three times. What made the experience even more frustrating was that we were sharing a table with another group of girls. They received immediate attention, and the server checked on them repeatedly throughout the meal. Despite sitting at the very same table, we were barely acknowledged. Not once did the staff check if we needed anything or ask how our meal was. When we politely asked if there was any issue with serving us, the staff responded with arrogance and didn't even offer a simple apology. The complete lack of professionalism, courtesy, and accountability made us feel unwelcome. This was by far one of the worst restaurant service experiences I've had. When I'm up for a beach getaway for lunch, I always head straight to Vista Restaurant. The view of the beach and sand is seriously stunning - like postcard material. Shoutout to Danny, our server, who's just awesome. The food is next-level creative, like something you'd find at a fancy Michelin-star place. The whole vibe there is just really cool, with background music setting the mood. And they've got outdoor seating with those canopy things and umbrellas, so you're all set for a chill time in the shade. And let's talk drinks - their menu is packed with great choices. So if you're into people-watching, you're in luck. There's a parade of gorgeous women in bikinis strolling by and even some beach volleyball action to check out. We had a disappointing experience at Vista in Hermosa Beach, largely due to how we were treated at the front. Our hostess, Bri, refused to seat us at a covered outdoor table, repeatedly insisting there was a waiting list. We asked multiple times, but she was dismissive and not accommodating at all. What made it worse is that during our meal, there were at least four covered tables sitting empty. It felt like we were being brushed off rather than actually helped, which really set a negative tone for the entire experience. The food itself was enjoyable, but the service--especially the initial interaction--left a lot to be desired. Hospitality starts at the door, and unfortunately, this wasn't it. read more

I went with the fish tacos and while I enjoyed the tortilla, I didn't love the fish itself; a fried Baja style would have been significantly better in my opinion. The burger also looks solid but do note that they don't serve french fries and instead have some pretty underwhelming fingerling potatoes. The vast majority of folks seemed to be there for the drinks and the offerings were quite robust. Service was also pretty decent given just how busy they were during the Friday dinner rush.

I asked if the Eggs Benedict could be served without the English muffin, and the server looked at me like I spoke an alien language. I said if so, would it be possible to get some arugula or spinach instead of the English muffin. She said she didn't think so, and went to check with the chef. She left and came back to tell me NO substitutions. Excuse me? Are we at a food truck or an upscale establishment where this should not be an issue? It was the simplest request, and didn't require any altering of the way the meal was cooked - just leave off the English muffin/put down a handful of arugula or spinach. FAIL. 3) Service was slow. No one came back to check on us. We had to flag her down. 4) The bathroom was dirty and disgusting. It was shocking, but the trash was overflowing and partially on the floor, the sink was clogged and had yellowish water pooled there, the floor was wet probably from people trying to wash their hands.. There's no excuse for this kind of negligence. 5) That all being said the food was okay. The salad wasn't bad... it just wasn't what I wanted. I was at a party so I couldn't up and leave. I really wanted the Eggs Benedict since all the ingredients other than the English muffin were safe for me to have. My coffee was just okay, and really strong. I was charged for an "Americano" but I just had an iced coffee, so not sure about why they billed it as something else. I will NOT be back. I was uncomfortable, and unhappy being there. It was overpriced for the (limited) menu options, the (poor) service, the (hot and loud) ambience and the (lack of) cleanliness.

Tin Roof has an excellent cocktail program as does their Simmzy's locations. We started out with Brussel Sprouts. Definitely a hit with the whole table. Tin Roof definitely has the best around, flavorful with a nice crunch, never soggy! We all ordered a variery of starters for our first course. Several had Ceasar Salads. Several had the Watermelon and Feta Salad. One had the Bloddy Mary Deviled Eggs, and another had the Fig; Pistashio, and Cottage Cheese Toast. Everyone loved what they ordered. We were full before our next courses arrived! Our server was Malcolm. He was very attentive even though it was an extremely busy afternoon since it was Father's Day. He was very helpful explaining some of the options only offered on today's menu. They offered a Bistro Burger (five out of six of us ordered!) and I wanted to know how different this burger was from their Simmzy's Burger (my personal favorite). He was spot on, explained it was smokey in flavor and quite different with the pretzel bun. It was so.good, served with fries (best shoestring fries!), onion rings, and piled so high you had to use a fork and knife to eat it! We left beyond full! Definitely we will be back soon!

Fast forward to June 2026, and we brought our 3-month-old son to his first NIck's meal (unfortunately, he could not partake) and to celebrate my husband's first Father's Day. On this reservation, I put in a request for outdoor seating that gave us enough room to park our stroller and car seat, and they were able to accommodate that. They were also understanding when me and my husband were running a few minutes past our reservation time due to fhe baby, and we appreciated the flexibility. The only exception was after a goal, when the broadcast volume would briefly come on for about a minute before being replaced by music again. After several repetitions, it felt less like a technical decision and more like a statement. If the owner doesn't want to host soccer fans, that's completely their prerogative. But putting a World Cup match on the TVs while intentionally suppressing the experience people came to enjoy is a strange middle ground that manages to satisfy nobody. The result was a room full of people watching one of the biggest sporting events in the world while being reminded every few minutes that the bar would rather they weren't.
