I have visited Viztango a few times now, my boss recommended us to go there for lunch since our office is close by. I have to say every time I come I do feel welcomed and the food is always AMAZING! Due to Covid the eating area inside is closed, but they are offering a eating area outside. It's actually nice especially on a hot day or just to get out of the office for lunch. I have tried the pepperoni pizza, the chicken fettuccine, the Caesar salad, the nicoise salad, the angel hair Sebastian, and the bread. They are all DELICIOUS! I would def recommend coming, it is family owned. Plus, you are able to redeem points every time you come, and you can redeem free food depending on how many points you have. Been coming here for years! I love it actually. My favorite is the farfalle tequila and the Chinese chicken salad. However, the last time my bf and I went, his plate that he usually always gets (cheese tortellini with meat sauce) was extremely oily to the point where he couldn't even eat the whole thing. He also got a Chinese chicken soup and they forgot to give us his favorite part and most important part actually, the tortilla strip chips! It was a chicken cutlet (and I'll admit a tasty cutlet), but then covered in bruschetta like tomatoes, and barely any cheese. It's just not chicken parm if there is no sauce and little cheese. The entree version has plenty of cheese, so what's the deal? The details of the dish says "pomodoro sauce" (pomodoro is tomato in italian), but there's no sauce! With no car and no knowledge about public transportation, we were desperate to eat somewhere within walking distance. After some intense Yelping, we came across Viztango and we were intrigued right off the bat. So we went. And walked. And knew we had arrived when we were walking adjacently to the Yoshinoya on Figueroa. The area that Viztango is located isn't the prettiest, but we were hungry and couldn't have cared less about stupid aesthetics. Viztango makes you feel a little cramped when you first walk in, but after you get adjusted to all the patrons, tables, and chairs, it isn't so bad. It's helpful to look up what you'd want to try beforehand because, let's get this straight... the walls are covered in all the entrees, appetizers, etc. It's definitely one of the quirkiest attributes of Viztango. I decided to get their bruschetta (because I'm addicted to bruschetta) and the Angel Hair Sebastian pasta. The total came out to $15 or so. I guess it's reasonable... it was a little more than I expected, but eh. But getting back to Vistango... while we were waiting, a server brought out the fluffiest looking squares of bread, topped with dried rosemary and smelling of fragrant olive oil. It was soft and warm and delicious and just what I needed. The bruschetta came next. It was simple and tasty, but I can probably make bruschetta just as good. The pasta, however, fell a little flat. Yes, it was served at the perfect temperature and it was not too oily... but the taste was so subtle! Then again, I'm a girl that loves flavor in her pasta... I know of people that prefer plain pasta over a rich sauce. The pasta was a little disappointing, but the service and the bread made up for it. As this time, I'm going to leave the rating at 3 stars, but I know they are capable of four or five stars... it was my fault for not choosing something else! And there you go! Generally very busy because it's one of two good Italian places within walking distance of campus, and they have daily specials like "free pitcher with pizza on ___day" or whatnot. Parking in that little plaza tends to be pretty difficult anywhere near peak hours since it's a tiny lot and there are a lot of businesses attached to it. Place your order and if you're eating in, they give you a little stuffed animal to hold instead of a number-- harder to lose, I guess. They bring the food to you and clean up for you, and if you expect more you won't get it. Service tends to be rushed just to keep up with the line, but the busboys are polite. The photos of the menu items are good, though. My usual dinner order: the bistango salad (pine nuts, tomato, artichoke, avocado), linguini artichini (artichoke, asparagus, mushrooms, chicken), and fried calamari. My roommate usually gets the farfalle tequila, but as much as I love cilantro, I find that their sun-dried tomatoes are a bit harsh on the palate. Their linguini clams is slightly underwhelming, and their ravioli is a bit overpriced but satisfying for the stomach. My friends love the bread and thin pizzas, but the all-around consensus is that their fries are pretty bland and starchy. Little known fact: they deliver! In fact, I need to stop abusing that, because one of the delivery guys knows my address by heart... weird. read more

I've been to Viztango a handful of times and I definitely recommend eating in versus ordering to go or for delivery- the food is best eaten immediately. At the restaurant, you are served an unlimited supply of bread that is addicting- don't fill up on it! The portions are good and prices are reasonable. I usually get the eggplant parmesan, although when I've ordered it for delivery, it has come undercooked, which is really disappointing. Viztango also offers discounts for students so show them your I.D. This is a very convenient place for students to eat but it's certainly not the best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. read more

Viztango is a nice little restaurant that right next to USC's frat row. It's a bit overpriced for the quantity, but the quality is usually pretty good. I just hate when they overcook my medium rare steak sometimes. In terms of food, I've had several of the pastas and they were all pretty top notch. My favorite was the seafood linguini. My long distance boyfriend ordered me cheese cake, fried cheese sticks and penne vodka from here. To start off with the good, the cheese cake was amazing! It tasted just as good as any expensive restaurants cheese cake. The penne vodka wasn't to my standards but I'm bias because I'm from NY where every pizzeria knows how to make a mean vodka sauce. What I was completely OUTRAGED by was the fried cheese sticks. These are supposed to be like mozzarella sticks but instead it was light eating uncooked breadcrumbs. That's all there was too it. NO cheese inside the sticks or on the delivery tray. Because I had gotten so much other food and it was halloween I decided not to get to angry. I had waited an hour longer than my expected delivery time because of the holiday. I just wanted a refund for the mozzarella sticks because I didn't want to eat cold bread crumbs. The manager wasn't there and some nasty woman on the phone gave me a huge attitude. I was appalled! She told us to call back in 2 days to speak to a manager but when I called he/she wasn't there again. Needless to say I will not be spending any more of my money patronizing this business. Until today, I've never had a bad experience at Viztango. I just ordered delivery, and the nice woman over phone told me it would be about an hour wait. I was fine waiting an hour. The delivery driver arrived about an hour later, and forgot my drink. He returned to the restaurant and to get me a drink and didn't bother leaving my food in the meantime. I had already paid over the phone, he could have left my food. When I finally got my food, it was terrible. The chicken cannelloni was cold and the sauce was extremely salty. The lettuce in my salad was wilted and overly drenched in dressing. My cheesecake was warm, how long was it sitting on the counter? I'm disappointed to say, I couldn't eat more than a few bites and had to toss it. The only thing that tasted good was the bread on the side and my iced tea. I don't think I'll be returning... This review is based on tonight's visit which didn't end well. Pros: Big portions, good prices, one of the girls was very helpful. Cons: Very bland! The sauce, the chicken, the noodles were all bland. I even asked for additional seasoning and the girl offered to exchange my meal, but I didn't want to because the chicken on the salad was bland too. My chicken was also burned from some parts. To end our night, a homeless person came in spreading really bad odors. He kept asking for food, which 3 people including myself gave him. He wouldn't leave and even peed. He left some of the food I gave him on a table and kept asking me for more. He was there for approximately 10 minutes and none of the workers told him to leave even after he peed all over the floor. This is one of the "Go To" places to order large trays of food when there's meetings or presentations of large groups. And, every time we've gotten food from them, it's been pretty good. However, we recently decided to give this place a shot for just your regular 'ol lunch and was surprised how bland everything was. The garlic bread was awful, which came as a surprise, because that's usually one of the things I loved when we'd place large orders. My only guess is, they step up their game when large orders come in, precisely to have them as a "go to" restaurant, but individual orders are left to go unmemorable. For the price we paid I thought I was going to get a good size salmon. . My salmon was 1/3 of regular size. Flavor was ok. I mentioned to the cashier and she seemed bothered. I didn't ask for anything extra. I just asked her if that the usual size because it looked nothing like the pictures. I am not a complainer at all. So I just continued eating my green salad with almost no salmon. My husband's salad had almost no chicken either. We couldn't finish eating, something came up and we had to leave. I asked her for a container and a fork to go in a very polite way. I said thank you to her and she seemed bothered. She did respond. I told her again in a polite way that when someone says thank you, it's a good customer service to say you're welcome. At that moment she called me "rude" " grosera" I was very disappointed.
