More of a tourist spot than anything else. The huge daiquiris are fun and tasty, but it's a little disappointing they only let you sample 2 flavors. I'd say skip the chicken and just get the daiquiris, it's more expensive and not as tender as Popeyes (ironically). We stumbled in here drunk and hungry on our way back to our hotel for a final drink and some chicken. It was really, really late night almost early morning, but there was a decent line of people. I'm sure dealing with a bunch of drunk/hungry people at that late hour is no easy task, but the workers were pretty patient. The chicken, gator bites, and waffle fries were just decent and got the job done. The Voodoo Funeral drink on the other hand was definitely the highlight and was the last thing I remember that night...if must've been pretty fricking strong because I don't remember how we got back to our hotel! I understand that this place is on Burton street and so they are going to charge a premium, but almost 3 figures for two chicken tender meals, and two drinks is outright insane. My first food stop while in NOLA. After checking in to the hotel and dropping off our bags, we were looking for an afternoon snack that was walking distance from the Hyatt. There's lots of chicken and daiquiri options along bourbon but we ended up at Voodoo, mostly because we could see the chicken was hot and ready. The shop is small and the music is loud because duh, it's a party all over Bourbon St - even in the middle of the day. Didn't bother me, but I did have to ask the cashier to repeat some stuff because I didn't hear her the first time. We got the 4 pc mixed chicken meal deal and 6 pc hot honey wings (no fries included in that so we got an extra side of waffle fries). Prices feel pretty high for what you get, but I guess it is a touristy spot so that makes sense. The chicken was pretty good though and has a nice kick and the hot honey wings were HOT! They've got daiquiris ready at $17 for 20 oz or $21 for 32 oz. We got the classic big easy ritas and phew that's a creeper. So good you don't even realize how much you're drinking. They are one of the only restaurants, and the decor and photo menu boards are extremely enticing haha so we had to stop in. ***LOCATION*** Prime spot on Bourbon Street in the middle of all of the fun. ***ATMOSPHERE*** The decor is incredible. I wasn't drinking this weekend, otherwise I'd have bought one but I did taste the sample though. It was delicious. I forgot the name, but it was red/orange. My friend bought the blue one and it was also good! They were also keeping the place very clean wiping tables constantly. ***FOOD/DRINKS*** Drinks were delicious and very large! I was sad because I wanted a biscuit but they didn't have any left, so I just got some fries. They were good, but the portion was super tiny and very expensive. Still worth it and in general things are expensive in cities in prime locations, so it is understandable, I just wish the bag would've been a little more full. ***PRICE*** Like I said, pretty expensive for the food, but understandable. I think I paid around 7$ for fries that came in a small bag like a McDonalds small fry. It was still very delicious and still worth it! They are one of the only food spots and their food is good! I would say the drinks are even more worth it though. They were priced the same as any of the other frozen drink spots on the street and they were very good. I love that they were giving samples, because otherwise I'd have never even thought to try them, and it did work, since my friend bought a drink after and I tasted it. Maybe she was having a bad day but when I'm spending my money the least you could do is provide kind service. It's disgusting to take advantage of an older person and use them as your verbal punching bag just because you don't want to work today. This review is strictly about customer service because we never received the food we ordered and here's why: Picture it. Midnight on Bourbon Street. You're hungry after a concert and finally found the chicken fingers your heart desired. We ordered chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese at the first register and went to go pick up our order up at the window nearby. The mac & cheese came out first in a little takeout container. We opened it to see what kind of mac & cheese it was. I was curious if it was kraft macaroni and cheese or homemade, baked-style macaroni and cheese. We were immediately berated by the employee behind the window who told us we should never touch food before it's delivered, even though we had already paid for it. He handed it to us! In my mind when you buy something it belongs to you, am I wrong? The employee was incredibly aggressive, demeaning and disrespectful so we left without collecting the food we had purchased moments earlier and willingly flushed money down the toilet to not deal with him. There is absolutely no chance of us ever returning or ever going to any of their establishments, no matter where they are. If it's the only food in the middle of a desert, I'd rather starve to death. read more
