My first time here. Nice breakfast menu. The scramble eggs, potatoes and bacons with toast were cooked to perfection. The ambience was a little quirky with the Frank Sinatra music track--appealing to all ages, definitely giving it that cafe vibe with the music, some counter height tables. This place is amazing. Food was so delicious. I ordered the Sunrise Sandwich. It was so amazingly good and tasty. 5/5 stars for the food. Customer service is also 5/5 stars! They are so friendly and you can tell the owner really cares about the food and customers. One of the other customers had a question and the owner was listening, then went to the back, I'm assuming to talk to the cook, and came back and made sure everything was good with the customer. I saw that the customer was highly satisfied after that, although I don't know what it was about. Ample parking. Easy to find. Great menu selections. My new favorite place for lunch. Spacious cafe. Great cafe for breakfast. It was early. and not busy Old fashioned swing music was playing. W Cafe is next to Hoag's new physician offices on Sand Canyon. I tried the Florentine Flatbread and really enjoyed the combination of flavors and freshness: toasted flatbread topped with sautéed spinach, melted Brie, sliced Serrano chili peppers and fried eggs. Really fresh ingredients, tried the apple and date salad with beets, nuts, 1.5 boiled egg and a grilled chicken breast and Mango vinaigrette. The chicken veggie rice soup was spicy with black pepper. I enjoyed it enough to bring my boss here, and I would even bring my (very picky) mother here on a weekend. I have never felt pressed for time on my 1-hour lunch break. The owner is friendly, and the prices are very affordable. A good spot for a lunch break with plenty of healthy options. The restaurant is located in the middle of a Hoag medical center. It has a private parking lot. It's a bit small but there is outside seating. We went for breakfast. The Bananas Foster French Toast was good but next time I will ask for the sauce on the side. The Chai Tea Latte was pretty good. One of the people with me got the pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. Each entree comes with fruit and a small salad. The last person in our group got the Lobster Benedict. The place is located near the Hoag Irvine campus, it's super clean and easily accessible. A little disappointed in the food and the service. We ordered a breakfast burrito and the donut French toast. The breakfast burrito was bland and the tortilla was hard. It seemed like it was sitting there for a while before we got it so it was cold by the time it came to us. We also ordered a side of turkey sausage, asked for it 3 times before they started making it. The donut French toast was over cooked and just tasted like mush. It was covered in the drizzle they put on top, so not a light drizzle. Basically soaked in sauce. Overall, I probably won't come back. read more

Found this place via Yelp and decided to check it out for lunch. It is located in the same area as the Hoag Urgent Medical center. There is ample parking available due to the hospital or medical offices in the area. There is outside and inside seating. I was quickly greeted at the counter where you place your order before sitting down. On this visit, I ordered the salmon salad to go. The salmon was nicely grilled and seasoned, but the salad part was soggy from too much dressing. That was my fault though, I should have requested to not toss the salad. hehe. Popped in for a quick coffee after seeing my dr at nearby hospital. I expected a generic coffee bar with a few pastries so imagine my surprise when I say full breakfast and lunch options. Being a huge sucker for anything breakfast, I ordered a protein omelet with spinach, kale, pico and turkey. I was worried my order would take forever to come out because it looked like only one man was working and there were a few tables of waiting patrons but the food was brought out promptly and at proper temp. It was served with toast, fruit and salad. The food was good but it felt a little dated. Even though it's a brand new business in a brand new building with well appointed decor, what felt dated was the food presentation. I read about their 1st location in Newport when it opened 3 or 4 years ago, but never got around to checking them out. And when I saw the pictures on Yelp with one being of the owner, to my surprise I knew him from the Balboa Bay Club, as he managed the members only bar/restaurant. I remembered him to be a very affable chap, so was excited to try his new venture. Lo and behold he opens a new spot 2 miles from my office. Today was July 5th, thus it was extremely slow at the office. I seldom leave the building for lunch as I hate fighting the lunch rush crowd, and correctly assumed the W Café would also be slow. A very nicely appointed and relaxing ambience awaited me, and was warmly greeted 3 steps in. Not only a very atypical office area sandwich "shop" the offerings are also atypical. I opted for the turkey with spinach and asparagus with Swiss cheese sandwich. The turkey tastes oven roasted, and not the rubbery processed stuff that I deplore. All other ingredients are of high quality as well. My multigrain bread was also great quality, but I forgot to ask who they get it from. The rare occasion that I desire an office day sandwich, this will be option A going forward. Next up is the Chicken Curry Sandwich. read more

As I was waking to the restroom, I saw the cook either pouring what looked to be half/half or milk in the scramble. I suppose it could of been boxed egg whites but even if that was the case, that would be very disappointing that it's not fresh eggs.
