3.5 stars Food: The food was decent. I thought the portion of chilaquiles was pretty small compared to others I've had. While they don't have specific kids' options, they offer really good pancakes. We also ordered a green juice and a sandwich, which were both great. The service: this is where I think there is room for improvement. Our waiter seemed annoyed with us the whole time simply for asking questions (we were first-timers). Maybe a bad day, idk? While the food was decent, it was nothing spectacular that I would rush back for! However, if in the area again, I'd be willing to give it another try.

I had coffee and a pastry at Xamán Cafe with my mom this past weekend when we were in Oak Cliff/Bishop Arts for a morning. First of all, the cafe is gorgeous. The cafe is inspired by Mexico's pre-Hispanic culture and history. The cafe itself is modern and bright, but you can see touches of pre-Hispanic culture in their menu and in their dishes. They serve their coffees in mugs made in Mexico - that are beautiful and traditional (black clay with faces on them, in a style popular in and traditional to the state of Oaxaca). We were meeting someone for brunch in a bit, so we couldn't eat a full meal, but I'd love to return for brunch in the future. (They serve brunch daily - starting at 7:30 on weekdays and 8 on Saturdays and Sundays.) Their menu is great - full of Mexican dishes I love: chilaquiles, enmoladas, pozole (only on weekends), sopa de fideo (M-Th only), and more... In addition to their menu, they offer some pastries at the counter. I tried their cajeta empanada, which was very good. Their drink menu is great, too, though: cafe de olla, Oaxaca mocha (with Mexican chocolate), cajeta macchiato, matcha, cocktails (like a fun play on an espresso martini and a carajillo), and more... My mom had a simple coffee, but I tried their Xamán horchata: their house made horchata and a double espresso. Our coffees were great. My empanada was a treat. The service was good. The cafe is gorgeous. I'd be happy to return - hopefully next time for some food from their great menu!

I've had this place on my list for a while and finally decided to stop by. We were seated quickly they have a front area and back area for customers. The menu is a great size not to large being overwhelming or to small. There coffees all sounded delicious but i got the espresso horchata iced which they bring the espresso on the side so you can manage how much you intake at a time. The flautas came recommended and were delicious. They had a subtle spice which was perfect and that crunch you expect

This place is better than Starbucks, but don't just take my word for it. Go there. The staff is wonderful, the menu choices are plentiful, and the environment is great for coming and going or staying. There's even a back bar area room that is good for parties and private meetings.

GREAT food, drinks and staff! The eggs on my avocado toast were perfectly cooked, and the base was seasoned well. I also got the seasonal biscoff latte and it was perfect. Vibes are calm and lovely, and I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of baked goods. I can't wait to come back to try the crepas ;)

Gorgeous space, very intimate. I had to remove two stars though for the customer service. The staff working the counter as well as our server didn't make me feel very welcome. I didn't catch the server's name but she was clearly trying to flip her table as soon as possible. During breakfast here, she returned incessantly to ask if we were done or needed anything else. It was aggressive especially while in deep conversation or mid bite. The chilaquiles were fine and I liked the brown sugar latte. They also have a cute patio out front. Parking was a bit rough, street parking with meters. Overall, the service being a bit off putting keeps me from wanting to visit again.

Xaman Cafe is one of the nicest brunches I have had in a LONG time! The Flan was thick and creamy, on the eggy side, I enjoyed it not sure if its for you? The corn pancakes were my favorite, paired perfectly with their light syrup. soft and moist and balanced. Birria is decent its also a balanced not too greasy or salty meal anyone can enjoy. The drinks were what I was hyped up for, so I got the matcha and coffee hortchata and also the Jamaica , they were all kinda just watery Music was a bit loud for brunch but they have tons of seating around, service was better for a brunch experience. I ordered most of the things I wanted off the brunch so I would need to see if there would be new seasonal items or a change in menu to pair with the pancakes.

This was my first stop for food in Dallas. It was one of my favorites BY FAR! I ordered the strawberry matcha latte. It may have been a Valentine's special, but if not you have to try! We tried the Mexican croissant and the chilaquiles. I would recommend both! The staff were so friendly. They explained the dishes, specials, and story behind the restaurant. We went for brunch time but it was a bit busy in the front so we got to sit in the back half that actually turns into a speakeasy at night. The front half is very bright and full of plants. The back half containing the speakeasy is very moody (in a good way). They even had fresh florals on each table. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Dallas!

Such a cute spot!!! The interior is sooo pretty and their coffee is so good! If i lived closer id be here more often for coffee and a pastry c: We dined in on a saturday for lunch and they have seating in the front of the cafe and also much more in the back by the bar! We ordered small cups of red pozole (delicious btw we cleared those so fast) and i got the chorizo omelette and i loved how their green salsa is super spicy and flavorful!! The cups the coffee were served in are v cute too. Id love to stop by for dinner and try out their cocktails! Our server was also super friendly and attentive :)

Such a great little spot all of the food we've had here has been great. The staff were all really kind and quick to assist.

Lovely cafe that has a speakeasy with a risky name. Lattes came in the coolest mugs. Soup was surprisingly good and service was perfect. I think they should warn people about the presentation of the churros. It was different but still tasty.

THE BIG: Located in Bishop Arts district of Dallas. This is a cute Oaxacan style restaurant with delicious food! Bags of Mexican coffee line the hallway. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Wowowow. This spot is where it's at. I came up with the wife and a childhood friend to see the Texas Rangers game. The brunch at Xaman Cafe was part of the tour. The restaurant seems small at first, but then you walk back and there's another part of the restaurant that seems like a speakeasy. I bet it is at night. Classic Oaxaca decor and flair. We ordered the mole chilequiles, torta ahogada, and the oaxacan mocha for that caffeine fix. All was so good. The mole chilequiles had a nice nuttiness with the mole and the torta was delivered in a tomato based dipping sauce that was absolutely amazing. THE FINAL BAMBOO: For two dishes and an oaxacan mocha, the damage done was around $45. Great meal all around and I will definitely be back to try more items.

Host and waitress were attentive. Sat us down quickly. Food was really good! They sat us in the back room which was really cool feels like you're going into a speakeasy bar and it pretty much is! Was there for breakfast though! Had the croissant with soup! Soup was pozole by the way soooo yummy! Lavender Matcha was great!

There is a sentence on CBD Provisions' Instagram that I want to read to you because it is doing a…read morelot of work in very few words. "A brasserie in boots." That's it. That's the whole thing. French discipline, Texas spirit, six syllables, no further explanation offered or required, and if you do not immediately understand exactly what that means the moment you walk into The Joule on Main Street then I do not know what to tell you except that the rosemary tallow fries are going to clarify things very quickly. CBD Provisions opened in 2013 as the Joule Hotel's in-house restaurant, became famous for a crispy pig's head carnitas that required you to pull strips of meat off an actual half pig's head at the table and tuck them into tortillas, which is a dish so committed to its own bit that it belongs in a museum, and then closed in July 2025 for a months-long renovation that brought in new culinary director Sezer Deniz. Deniz trained under Chef Jean Paul Naquin at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon, France. He has twenty-plus years in Michelin-starred kitchens including Alinea in Chicago. He is now making breakfast tacos inside a hotel in downtown Dallas and I want to be very clear that this is a promotion. The room has exposed brick and wood floors and steel beams and mosaic tile and antique mirrors and railcar booth seating and a center banquette and stone tabletops, all of which sounds like it should be competing with itself but instead produces the specific feeling of a place that has been here long enough to know what it is. I sat at the bar, which is the correct place to sit, and ordered the short rib corn cake stack, which is braised short rib and avocado and two poached eggs and a poblano hollandaise and which arrives looking like the cover of a cookbook that does not exist but absolutely should. The poblano hollandaise is the detail I keep returning to. Not regular hollandaise. Poblano hollandaise. Someone in that kitchen made a decision to take a classical French sauce with two centuries of culinary tradition behind it and introduce it to a pepper from Puebla, Mexico, and what resulted is something that makes you look at regular hollandaise and think, you had potential, you just never reached it. I ate the entire thing and then contemplated ordering another one and then did not because I am a person with limits, technically. The CBD Provisions burger is a double smash with American cheese and grilled onion and house pickles and something called fancy sauce, which is a name I respect enormously because it is not pretending to be anything other than exactly what it is. It comes with rosemary tallow fries, which are the reason I will order this burger every time I come here for the rest of my life. Rosemary. Tallow. Fries. Three words that in combination produce something that should be legally classified as a controlled substance. French in method, Texan in manner. Boots and a brasserie. The Joule has been on Main Street for years and CBD Provisions has been feeding people inside it for over a decade, new chef and new tile floors notwithstanding, and it has figured out the thing that most hotel restaurants never figure out, which is that the goal is not to remind you that you are eating in a hotel. The goal is to make you forget entirely. I forgot entirely. The tallow fries helped.

The reservation required prepayment, was nonrefundable, just shy of $5k per night and required additional paperwork. This was my second time reserving this room in the past year. I flew in from Fort Lauderdale, stayed in a smaller suite the first night. The following morning, I was informed that the penthouse would not be available because the current occupant had an emergency and the hotel "was obligated" to allow them to remain. I was moved to a different penthouse, given a significant discount, and treated professionally by management. However, the issue was never the discount. The issue was that the accommodation I specifically selected, prepaid for, and planned my trip around was not honored. The Loft Penthouse was nice. The staff was courteous. But after traveling from Florida for a once-in-a-lifetime reunion, I left with the understanding that even a prepaid, nonrefundable reservation for a specialty suite may not actually be secure. That's something future guests should know when making their plans. What troubles me most is that this occurred during the FIFA Club World Cup, when Dallas was hosting numerous athletes, celebrities, executives, sponsors, and VIP guests. While I have no way of knowing who remained in the penthouse, it is difficult not to notice that a reservation I made nearly two weeks in advance, prepaid in full, and completed additional paperwork for was the reservation that was displaced. If the Penthouse and Loft Penthouse were truly equivalent accommodations, there should have been no issue relocating the guest who extended their stay to the Loft Penthouse rather than relocating the guest who had prepaid for the Penthouse nearly two weeks in advance. The partial refund that was offered, does not restore the experience that I booked and planned around. What I experienced was unfulfillment of a contractual obligation from the hotel's end while I kept my end of the contractual obligation. Whether I was the least important person in the room or simply the easiest to inconvenience - What was done cannot be undone.
