Went to Yard House before going to a movie. We made it in time for happy hour. Drink prices seemed high for happy hour, not sure about the rest of the time. They had a wide variety of beer, but nothing really unusual. One of my pet peeve is going to a bar, a beer bar especially, and the bartender filling glass to the proper amount. Call me cheap, but if I am going to pay 7 bucks for 11 ounces of beer don't give 9.5 ounces. We also had the lettuce wraps which were pretty decent. Service was fine. The one thing I can say is that they ID everyone very strictly. I am 30 and look it. My wife went the restroom when we got there and I was going to order her a beer. They would not even start pour either of our beers until she go back and checked her ID. I thought this was kind of stupid as the bartender could have at least started pouring the beers, at a minimum one beer for my checked ID. I get it, just find it annoying. read more

I've been to Yard House several times and have great experiences each time however this visit was not so great. My fiancé and I came in around 9:45 pm and sat at the bar, I was greeted promptly by the bar back I'm guessing and I told him I needed a few minutes. My fiancé needed to run to the truck for something and came back and asked me who was waiting on us. I pointed to the guy with the ponytail. He disappeared from the bar, we waited for 10 minutes for him but he never came back. Someone else approached us and took our order. Our drinks and food came out great. Everything was prepared to our liking but when we finished with our meal, they took our water glasses from us, not even asking if we wanted a refill, in which we did. We got another round of drinks and finished and waited another 10-15 minutes before we could close out. The service was terrible. Which was surprising considering there was 4 maybe 5 bartenders behind the bar. Don't advertise for reverse happy hour and have the Rockets play off game if you don't want customers to come in. They were so focused on closing and breaking down, they didn't want to take care of the customers in front of them. read more

Great place to meet with friends and share food. We filled up on mostly appetizers and bar drinks. Everything we ordered was delicious and service was super friendly. Kyle was great at recommending dishes for us to try and very attentive making sure our drinks were filled and happy with our food. Very good eclectic American cuisine. Immense bar with many varieties of beers. For what I have had here, I have liked. It's a great place to hang out with colleagues and friends and people watch. It's a chain (Darden) restaurant and feels like it, but the food is good enough to make you dismiss it. Heed my warning people. Yard house seems to be a classy spot for people to hangout, eat and drink at. But if you're looking to eat here and pay $32 for a USDA choice ribeye that costs $18 at Longhorn Steakhouse, or $18 for a chicken breast plate that should cost $9...you should know that the food isn't just overpriced but most of the stuff is frozen, pre-made and pre-packaged. Mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, pastas, lamb burgers etc, all pre-made and comes in frozen. All they do is thaw the food and laugh all the way to the bank while you're spending $52 on a frozen meal for 2 Oh and let's not forget the CANNED crawfish clams and the crab is really imitation crab? . So why the extremely high prices? Who knows. But if you're okay with frozen pre-made food, go ahead. read more

Place was busy but we quickly got a table with a great view of the football game we were interested in. Our server, Wale (pronounced Wally), was terrific and made good suggestions. The club sandwich I ordered was among the best I've ever had, and the fries - the tiny shoestring style - were divine. Hubbie ordered one of the street taco offerings and was very happy with it . . . especially since he ate practically all my fries. (Lost one star for the rude employee who shoved around us in the narrow aisle as we were leaving. We went to Yard House for our Valentine's Day dinner and I have to say it was absolutely amazing! The first thing I noticed and loved about the place was the atmosphere, it gives off a very romantic ambiance with the low lighting, candles and burning fires outside. When we were sat it did take us a while to get greeted, however it gave us a chance to look over the large menu. We ordered two drinks from the bar and a calamari appetizer which was crunchy and delicious however we got our appetizer before we got our alcoholic drinks because it took that long. The drinks were delicious and we ordered a ribeye steak and shrimp and a lobster crab and shrimp entree. The food did not take long at all to arrive and my steak was cooked at a PERFECT medium, and very juicy. The food is absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back, however I will say the waitress was a little blah and slow to attend to her table. i don't know why i have not written a review yet! this place has become my staple choice for late night dining because 1) easy access (intersection of I-10 and BW8) 2) reverse happy hour menu from 9:30-11pm 3) friendly staff! i like to avoid franchises if possible (unless its pappas!) but this place is simply a great place to chill with good food and friends. i like it think of it as an upscale sports bar. i don't really drink but its the the happy hour menu thats calls me coming back! can you say mouth-watering GARLIC TRUFFLE PARMESAN fries?!!? read more

Hmm this place is so overrated. Yes, they serve an amazingly rather extensive variety of beers but lack poorly in their service. Every time I would visit this place after work, or just for happy hour, service is incredibly slow. If it wasn't convenient, I don't think I would even bother to come here. Food takes forever to come out, server rarely checks up on you, and to top it off, it takes forever just to get my first drink! So don't come thirsty! lol other than that, I love me a glass of beer so try to sit at the bar instead. read more

Warning - this place is crowded on the weekends- obviously. Food, service, and drinks are alright - when you can get a table or a seat at the bar. I enjoy the pear cider, the truffle fries, and the brownie a la mode. All the other stuff I've tried - "meh". I bought a $100 gift card from the local High School auction, so was very excited to try out what appears to be a hip popular spot in CityCentre. Things did not start off on a good foot when they told us there was a 1 hour wait, but we ended up waiting more than 2 hours. Regardless I was ready for a great meal, but unfortunately was treated to only a mediocre spread - nothing worth writing home about. They have an impressive 100+ beers on tap which is a redeeming quality. However, overall the experience was really not worth the wait and the high cost. read more

I came here on a Monday night, and the place was rather packed. I would suggest getting there reasonably early or late if you plan to go on a weekend night, as I don't believe the restaurant takes reservations. The entrees we ordered really were pretty good. I got the scallops with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, and orzo pasta. The scallops were what you would expect, but the orzo was spectacularly flavored. I would highly recommend the scallops dish. I also got to try the mac and cheese with chicken, bacon, and mushrooms, and that was also well executed, with the dish coming out lighter than I had expected. It wasn't overly rich, despite the description. This restaurant seems to incorporate mushrooms generously into its dishes, which is a big plus for me! The downsides: our server was nice, but rather aloof. It wasn't always easy to get his attention. Plus, the mini-chocolate souffle was a major disappointment. I was expecting the light fluffiness of beaten egg whites, but it came to the table more like a chocolate cake or brownie. It was a little cold, and not what I was hoping for. But at $5, I can't really complain too much. In sum, go with dishes others have already tested; don't expect great service; and go a little early or late to take advantage of the happy hour specials. read more

I have been here a couple of times, being that I live a stones throw from the place, and have enjoyed it each time. I wandered over here yesterday to check out the Astros game and meet some friends. First off they have over 100 beers, if that's your thing. They also have some very creative cocktails, one of my friends that a cherry bomb shot which was cherry vodka and red bull, tasted sweet but good! I stuck with my old faithful Blue Moon and an orange slice, but my other friends happily tasted several different beers. One which I can't remember the name was a dark rasberry one that tasted a lot better than it looked. I also grabbed a quick bernaise burger which was AWESOME with the garlic mayo. The service is pretty nice there. I have been there twice. the first time i had that pineapple burger, well..it didn't taste like what i expected. the second time i had the lobster. We have been to yard house a few times, and we always get the best service with Deanna taking care of us. She is always prompt, kind, and funny. We each got wonderful beers and a great appetizer. They have queso now, and you really need to try it. It isn't just cheese dip. It is a skillet of many different melted cheeses that comes out super hot so be careful :-) it took me a bit to warm up to yard house, but now I think it is rather awesome. read more

This place is awesome! I definitely recommend the egg rolls or the Surf and Turf Burger! We went on a very busy Saturday evening and didn't have to wait too long. The service here wasn't amazing but it wasn't horrible, the food was not worth the price. The kids spaghetti and meatballs was not flavorful in any way. The meatballs were firm and chewy and the noodles were covered in long strips of basil. I music was so loud that I couldn't even hear the person across from me. Went to Yard House with family during my last visit to Houston and was very pleased with the atmosphere, food and drinks. I ordered and highly recommend: -hpnotini (ketel one citroen vodka, malibu pineapple rum, hpnotiq) -shitake & portabella mushroom lettuce wraps (craving right now) -new york steak salad (delicious and 1st time trying a pickled egg) The only factors holding me back from giving five stars is the wait time, loudness and our abrasive waitress. this place is a whole lot of fun. there was a little bit of a wait, considering it is pretty darn new, but i think it was worth it. we tried a few different draft beers. the list was cool, because it told you the characteristics of the beer. normally, we see these long lists of beers and i am not much of a beer drinker to say, "id love to try a "insert german word here" light." our waitress was absolutely adorable and sweet. i had the mac and cheese squared. i forced myself to not eat the entire thing because i wanted to eat it again for lunch the next day, it was so good! i didnt order the yard glass. i considered myself too much of a noobie to do it. haha. would definately go again, definately. read more

plenty of beers on tap, lots of tv screens and pages of menu items to choose from. in short, it's a good place to grab a beer and catch a game and catch up with friends. the hard part might be picking which beer to drink, since their list is so extensive. i love belgian beer so i'm glad to see a legitimate bar along I-10 (no more driving all the way to midtown/downtown). i know it's a bit pricey, but they do offer happy hour twice a day, so you can at least get half priced appetizers. as for food, it's nothing spectacular. just your regular suburbia restaurant, with a bit of asian fusion (they have brown rice... must be that california influence). jambalaya was kind of flavorless. tomato bisque was a little too sweet. onion rings were good though, and so were the burgers and spinach artichoke dip. beer comes out perfect, though, and that's all that matters. read more

Went to Happy Hour and was not happy about how much the drinks still cost. I did get a delicious Pear Cider served cold and in a large glass. The appetizers were nice large portions which helped with the cost. The place wasn't that big so our party of 14 had to sit outside in the heat. The service was fun and attentive. Good experience but nothing wow about it. I didn't expect too much from the food at a bar, some were decent, some where only so so. The sliders with skinny french fries were good and the tuna roll was odd and mediocre. read more
