Shame on Yard House !!!! I can't express how disappointed I've been with my recent experiences at this restaurant. Yard House is a place I used to frequent often, but over the past few visits, I've repeatedly been told that the fryer was out of service, limiting menu options, especially the wings, which are the main reason I come. Hearing this excuse on multiple occasions is extremely frustrating. After doing a bit of research, I learned that Yard House is owned by Darden, a company that operates several major restaurant chains. For a franchise of this size, these ongoing issues are unacceptable. On one visit, there were no paper napkins available. Another time, getting ketchup felt like a chore. These are basic necessities and should never be an issue for a company of this scale. I even overheard a first-time guest expressing disappointment, and honestly, I don't blame them. Situations like this leave a poor impression and reflect badly on the brand. Yard House needs to do better. If essential equipment isn't working, the restaurant shouldn't operate as if everything is fine. It comes across as cheap and unprofessional especially for a business backed by Darden. read more

Got here for Happy Hour but they had none- Whomp Whomp Anyway, this place gets crowded fast. We headed to the upstairs bar and got a high top at the window. Nothing like NYC people watching while sipping on cocktails. The bartender that took care of us was super cute and very helpful. Food was pretty solid. Second time at a yard house. First time at this location. Very busy so the service was improperly timed. We got our apps before we got our drinks, and then got our entrees before we were close to finishing our apps. Decent atmosphere, music was a little loud but plenty of TVs. It's a very spacious space, and was able to accommodate about 20 people near the upstairs bar (I believe there's 3 floors). It was easy to order on the kiosk that was placed on each table, but also had a server that came by to take our order. They have a large selection of beers and have different sizes you can choose from. Definitely recommend getting the half yard (if you can finish it). Few others ordered cocktails which they said were tasty. We also ordered a few appetizers to share like the jumbo pretzel, chicken nachos, fries, onion ring tower, edamame, boneless wings, etc. There's also a bunch of TVs and projectors so it'll be a great place to watch sports (esp for march madness). read more

Well. I don't do a lot of franchised beer joints, but was looking for a sports bar. Lemme say this-- you don't have to be looking for a tv game to love this place! We've been all over midtown and I just had the best jambalaya of my life. Unbelievable! The bartender, Star, recommended it, and I couldn't be happier. Star was a top-notch bartender with the social skills of an influencer. Her hustle and advocacy of this place is remarkable. My props to the chef, but Star was what made it shine. read more

Tried this place for dinner in Times Square and it was very good. It is obviously a popular place since the wait for a table was 30 minutes in a Wednesday night. I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich with Sweet Potato fries. Great ! Unbelievable draught beer selection too. They must have over 50 beers on tap. Easy to book a reservation via YELP!!! Was seated immediately! The host was incredible. Nice engaging small talk and jokes as we walked our table. The crowd traffic was light. The space is huge and has two floors Our waiter was pleasant and the menu had a lot of options. I'm giving four stars because my rice was TOUGH!! Like HARD! I ordered Jambalaya and everything was delicious except for the RICE .. it was clearly not cooked through. Our food came out relatively quickly. Yard House is hands down one of my favorite bars in the city! The place is massive, with two full bars--one upstairs and one downstairs--so you're never waiting long for a drink. There are TVs everywhere, which makes it the perfect spot to catch any game you want; no matter the sport, it's playing on a screen somewhere. The food is always top-notch. You can't go wrong with the wings, chicken tenders, truffle fries, or those amazing garlic noodles with shiitake mushrooms. The steak bowl is another solid choice--everything is consistently delicious and served fresh. And of course, the beer! Those half-yard beers are easily the best. The selection is huge, and they always pour them perfectly. Thank you, Yard House, for always providing such a fun, energetic atmosphere and great food and drinks. First Visit- Bamboozled Back in September was my first time dinning at the Times Sq location. A group of friends and I two-stepped over there when we missed our reservation @ another restaurant. I was familiar with the brand & just thought they were ok. My impression was changed, I actually order an entree and enjoyed it. Previously @ the Ridgehill location I've had drinks and basic wings, nothing overly impressive. After a 20min wait we were seated upstairs. We all order some starters and drinks. I ordered the Lobster Garlic Noodles (hold the mushrooms) and was pleasantly surprised. So much so I convinced another group of friends to come here after an event a month later (October). Second Visit- Tour de Armpit Wings Womp WOMP.... Big Big mistake! The food was subpar at best and the service was by far severely unprofessional, at times giving disorganizing and very much rude. We were immediately taken to a table on the ground floor. Our server, Elijah, was pleasant. However his enthusiasm shifted by the time the check was requested. Everyone order simple appetizers, or dessert and I order an entree as well. My starter was wings, which came out first. I watched as a server/busser carried the wings all over the dining room under her arm as she attempted to figure out what table ordered them. We literally watched her go to every table except for ours. Then I witnessed her holding the plate of wings under her armpit while clearing & cleaning another table, that was the end of it. When she finally made it to our table the wings were sauce-less and cold to the touch. I immediately sent them back. It took another 15/20 minutes for the girl to bring out the sauce and to notice we sent the wings back. I also ordered the Lobster Garlic Noodles (hold the mushrooms) again. When this dish came out, it was also cold and had to be sent back. There was no apology/ concern or care from any staff member (no manger came but we didn't ask). Not even our server and by no means did we think he was at fault. The rest of the table ordered poké nachos, wine and dessert. Everything else was just ok. The service severely began to slack after the "tour de armpit wings" and noticeable got worse towards the end when asking for water and waiting for the server to return with minor things like napkins and lemons. We watched as he had a full conversation with the table next to us but failed to check-in with what we asked for or when we needed assistance. Then when we received the bill the "tour de armpit wings" was still on the bill. I can understand slight service struggles when busy, but they were busier the first time than the second. While I thought they presently surprised me the first time I was wrong! The service and food quality doesn't justify the price or calories. I highly doubt there will be any additional visits for me, especially not a third visit @ this location. Just A Note: First visit was a party of 5, we sat upstairs and second visit was a party of 4, we a at downstairs. If that makes any difference. I came here the other night with some foodie friends. We were in the area after an event nearby and we were starving. The service began to slack a little towards the end when asking for water and waiting for the server to return. He was having a full ocnvo with the table next to us and failed to check in when we needed assistance. Lastly, we had to make sure that we weren't charged for the item we sent back. Whenever I've gone to YH, we usually sit at the bar. It's just easier for better service and even then you might find yourself in Diner Hunger Games, when trying to get your bartender's attention. When they're busy, service goes down, bad. IMO the food isn't all it's cracked up to be. The quality and flavor don't justify the kcals. It's safe to say that barring desparation, I likely won't be back to this loc, especially having to dodge their guarding derelicts. It's crazy out in Times Square these days. read more

We had a large group of out of town visitors coming to visit New York at Christmas. Most of our party were teens and picky with food. Seeing that we were planning to be in the theater district we decided to keep it safe and go to Yard House. We loved that you can book a large party reservation online, so that made things much easier. Once we arrived we checked in, but even though we had a reservation we were asked to wait. Once we were seated we found the waitress to be attentive and I formative. I highly recommend the old fashioned smoked tableside to start - it's a treat. So much so that I received a cocktail smoker for Christmas this year! We especially appreciated the waitress bringing out a cake and having everyone sing for our birthday girl. I ordered the beer battered cod sandwich with onion rings. The onion rings were great, but the cod sandwich was just ok. I wanted the batter on the fish to be much crispier. Overall this was a great location for a family and bonus for the online reservation platform. Make sure you have plenty of time, especially if you're seeing a show. read more

Our server was fantastic, he was super kind and attentive and even recommended us to get a smaller mac and cheese since we were already sharing so much food. The food was good, standard comfort food. I wasn't a fan of the cheese curds but my boyfriend really liked them. BIG portions - we ordered a lot more than we could eat and had a lot of leftovers. I expect my truffle to have that "good stank" (iykyk) and the thyme adds an unwanted mint flavor on the back end. -Sips... now this is where the chain part comes in. I know they mean well yet the drinks didn't pack enough punch for me - even in asking for my own mix. -California Roll Stack (I don't remember the name) This was flavor galore. Just imagine an extra large California Roll, yum. Ease up on the Mayo and I'll repeat buy. Was slightly too "wet" for me. This is the type of place where you pick your fav dish and then treat yourself to it ever so often. Ahhh NYC Times Square I've been to the one in DC and decided to try it again. This time I was looking for healthy options and a good drink - a happy medium so to speak. My experience was really great here. I've only ever sat a the bar. I'm sad I did not take pictures of my October fest flight and chicken lettuce wrap. This is very much a tourist location where people from all over the world come in or locals. It's what makes NYC a great place. The waiters I had were cool. Shared stories and were attentive. Their knowledge of drinks and the extensive tap was mild blowing. I've never seen so many taps. Pro - location, Times Square by all major trains, Port Authority, and a few blocks from Penn station. Staff are pleasant. Bar staff are golden. Food is good with healthy options and not extremely pricey. It is a huge place with two floors and an elevator. It's disability friendly. The bar has a lower section. I sat near someone with had devices to assist her with standing and walking. There's one bathroom at the bottom floor. Tip - this is a very busy place. If you have a large group inquire about a reservation to avoid wait times or get on the waitlist. Every time I go it's not always easy to find 1 seat let along 2 at the large downstairs bar but people frequent in and out. For a busy place I appreciate the staff being so pleasant! Yard House is a great restaurant for pre-show dining in the theater district of New York City. The original plan was to see the Tommy matinee, then have dinner, but the plan changed to pre-show dining at Yard House. I left Penn Station and walked a few blocks up seventh Avenue and found myself right in front of Yard House. since it was a beautiful day, and I was a little bit early, I waited in front in the sun for my company. Although the restaurant was busy, once we all gathered, we were immediately seated. The staff was very courteous as we hemmed and hawed between two tables, finally settling in one at the window. As it turns out, we were not there for lunch! The new plan was to order a bunch of starters and some cocktails, and then go to the show. We ordered the firecracker shrimp (delicious!), The nachos, the artichoke dip and the brussels sprouts. All I can say about those brussels sprouts is "oh my gosh!"Compared to the restaurant we had dinner in after the show, these brussels sprouts were absolutely the best! The only photo I managed to get was of my Old Fashioned. I could not wait to tuck into those plates. I highly recommend Yard House for the fantastic food, drinks, and service. There is something for everyone on the menu, and everything is delicious! (A tip for the lady diners: you don't have to wait online for the single bathroom on the main floor. As a Californian living in the East Coast, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Yard House in Connecticut! Such a variety of beers, what more can you need? We came on a Saturday for a very early dinner so it wasn't pack and got seated right away. We were 3 plus a toddler. I noticed a lot of families were there at the same time. I saw a lot of small kids like mine so it's very family friendly. Our server was really nice and attentive. He even helped us get another high chair since the first one was kinda short. He also let us sample some beers since I was on the fence on which to get. We ordered some cheese curds (must have!), a burger, spicy beef noodles and a steak salad. Honestly, everything was really good. I personally had the noodles and it was delicious. It wasn't spicy, I even let my little one try some of the noodles and veggies. He enjoyed it. Yes, I am also well aware that this is a chain, but we were very surprised how prompt and quick they were with the food, both times, we had to ask if they had a huge kitchen, they do. We ordered the chicken wings and they were one of the best chicken wings we've ever had. They also have a very large beer selection. Ambience and music is always on point. I've been to Yard house before in the west. I was greatful we decided to stop here while in Times Square. Really wanted the cheesesteak, but really didn't want the bread, too heavy late night. So I decided to tell them to put everything from the sandwhich on top of the fries. BEST. DECISION.EVER!!! Why have I not through of this before??? Our waiter Joey went to break just a few moments before our meals were delivered. He came back over hoping to see how it looked. Glad I had taken the picture because after not eating for 10 hours I want about to wait around for him to be back..so all that was left were a few of the fries. Ya never know what dish you may discover if you just ask them to leave out the bread. The rib eye was tender chunks of deliciousness, much more than I expected. Since when is it required to pay tip for takeout? All they did was package my food. Do they expect me to go into their kitchen and pack my own food if it means I don't have to pay tips for takeout? As I was signing for credit card check for my takeout food, the African hostess or waitress in the front was giving me the death glare as I write no tips and mumbling something (probably profanity) as we left with the food. Yard house has great food and huge portions, but wow giving the death stare and cursing at customers for not leaving tip for takeout food is just ridiculous. read more
